✓ Very goodSolid recorder, seems to work well on older phones unlike the zoom and tascam recorders. Layout is fairly user friendly and the ability to cut up recordings is nice. Only flaw is that recordings don't automatically appear in iTunes filesharing, they need to be "sent", and it's pretty time consuming. Nearly impossible for entire shows unless they're cut up. 5 stars easily if this is fixed..Version: 1.6

✓ Best ever.I use this app for so many things. Well worth the full version. Rather than constantly syncing my iTunes music with my iPhone, I can import my music from my Google Drive with ease at any time I want. The effects are amazing, and unlike other apps, I can actually edit the sounds rather than selecting canned presets. It has never lagged or glitched, even when editing an hour and a half of dubstep. Its editing functions are so precise, i can edit down to the smallest fractions of a millisecond. I love this and well worth the six dollars I paid..Version: 1.9
✓ One of the best I agreeThanks so much for the hard work guys. However, after using the app a couple of hours, I found a few issues that really need addressing: 1) No sync between iPad app and iPhone app 2) This is related to the first one but it really needs an automatic backup feature 3) Need support for folders for organisation (inc. nested folders) 4) Where is the trash folder? 30 days safe keeping and auto deleting afterwards? 5) Need an in-built converting feature between the sound files. 6) Need a listening only interface with easy speed adjustment, etc. it’s really not convenient from the editing window. It’s so easy to mess up the recording in that view. Lucky you added the undo button or I would have long deleted your app. Make these happen and I’m willing to pay for the upgrades, just don’t ever do subscriptions or that’s the day we will part..Version: 1.53

✓ Thought it was great...(stars are rising)UPDATE(2): Decided to take a risk and test again. (I really like the capabilities.) Have gotten excellent results, but still some crashes. But, no crash has resulted in lost data. Recovered gracefully each time. Proceeding carefully. UPDATE: Devs updated app two days after I wrote this, and I'm happy I didn't delete the app. I was able to get back into my project and export it! Still leaving the warning below because the app still crashes. Until I lost a project. And you know what? If you lose one project, even only 30 minutes of work, why would you then continue using the app and risk bigger projects? Very disappointed that I spent money on this app. And isn't that just the way too often with iOS apps these days? Regardless, it gets two stars for a great layout and concept. ✓ Reliable field recorderI use this app to record band practices and song ideas. It doesn’t have the best user interface, but once you’re used to it, it works. And works great. The post processing options are as good as any you’d expect to use on a smart phone. I’ve been using this app for over four years and haven’t found a compelling reason to use anything else. ✓ Needs better export options!!Update 2021: I paid for this app in 2016. I have almost 100GB of uncompressed audio almost (~300 files) on 2 iOS devices. I have spent around 30 hours trying to develop solution for USB audio share/export that does NOT involve local network or slow upload to “cloud”. Instead of SIMPLE USB transfer like I can with photographs, this app has application file system sandbox which PREVENTS USB export!! This is a major failure of the app developer. People pay for this application for power features and functionality. SMB network share -barely- works! SFTP network share is totally broken. After 30 hours troubleshooting my only solution was to create a SMB/CIFS file server I started in a docker container inside my local linux PC and transfer via local network LAN This is way above skills that should be required to transfer audio files!! Why is there no USB file transfer?? Please! add this missing feature! I started using Twisted Wave Recorder around 2016 on iPhone 6. It was good and I made a lot of high quality recordings, but struggled to export the audio files. 2019, I purchased a iPhone XS and was unable to find replacement audio app that offered the core recording features in Twisted Wave. However, the audio export is still garbage, in 2021!! The developer needs to create a simple plist file and ship in an application update which will allow share/export via USB cable to be possible. This is basic application maintenance!! Application sandboxing in iOS is such a hassle now in iOS that this is mandatory for proper usage of this and many applications now. (VLC app for example does not have this issue with USB, and also handles audio files!).Version: 1.53

✓ I like!I'm surprised no one has written a review on the twisted wave apps because for me they are essential for audio recording and music production on my iPhone. These are easy to use apps that do what they say they are supposed to do. I have both versions on my phone so that, using Audiobus, I can have one version playing what I have previously recorded while the other version is recording the new mix. Again with Audiobus, you can also add other apps into the mix. I actually wish there was a third version of these TW apps that I could put on my phone to give me the ease additional layers of recording. I have searched high and low for a similar audio recording app that's Audiobus compatible and it does not exist. It's just a great audio recorder and editor in my opinion..Version: 1.6.1

✓ Best audio recording app.I paid the small fee to unlock all the export options and I must say, this is the best recording app i’ve used. I can plug my Movo VXR10 Pro into it with a lightning adapter, and it’s instantly recognised. No gimmicks, 16bit 48Khz WAVs that sound great sharing and such is easy. I use it for voiceovers, foley and more. It just works, no need to purchase an expensive zoom recorder and considering my iPhone is always with me, this makes it easy to record i the go. ✓ Excellent if you understand what it does and how it worksInstant loading makes it my favorite audio app for iOS. It’s the only one I trust for live performance. I’m referring to the Audio Editor version. This includes all of the functionality of the free (but limited) Recorder. I do not recommend this app for recording with iOS microphones such as the Zoom iQ or the Shure MV88. The mics’ proprietary apps allow direct control of many of the microphones’ features from the software. Understandably, TwistedWave cannot do this—no matter, this is the app you use to edit those files in iOS. Moving files among my Mac, iPads and iPhone is very easy via iTunes and email. ICloud support would be nice but not necessary. I’ve not tried Dropbox with TwistedWave. I wish that I could lock a file to prevent accidental editing—that would be a most welcome feature..Version: 1.24
