✓ Bugs everywhereUnfortunately the expense categories is buggy once you start moving things around and categories show up all over the place after you synchronise. Also in newest version (24 Feb '15) receipt addition doesn't work!!.Version: 1.21
✓ Subscription issuesThis app used to be amazing. I’ve been a customer since 2018. However, it seems that ever since the update in December of 2021, features have been missing or broken. My auto crop and auto scan features almost never work now, resulting in me spending 3x as much time organizing receipts. This issue was fixed with a subsequent update. Now, there are issues with subscriptions. Every month, it says my subscription is expired despite having and paying for an active subscription thru the App Store. This results in me not being able to scan receipts for days every month. Support has also gotten much slower to respond..Version: 5.2.2
✓ Beware their customer “service”...This app has been a mainstay of my tax preparation for years. Unfortunately it failed spectacularly this year and I had to reach out for assistance. Their customer service is about the most useless service I’ve seen in years. I tell them the app isn’t syncing so I can’t generate a report, they tell me to generate a report from the website. I tell them that I fixed the issue by deleting the app and starting again, they tell me 5days later they checked my app and the receipts are there. Well duh of course they are cos I told you I started again! Don’t rely on this app, or that they’ll help you when it fails!.Version: 4.0.8
✓ If I could give fewer stars I wouldThis app started out as a great thing to help with tracking my receipts during my first year of business. It became very time consuming and inconvenient when I had to always stop and meticulously input or correct the way the app picked up on the scanning of receipts. Yes I did renew my subscription but after a day of going through the same correcting of the scanning I found another app that works SO MUCH BETTER and that app allows me to use my desk scanner as well as my phone’s camera for scanning. I canceled the subscription and requested a refund and I gave the reason for doing so and I was told that the company is very sorry by the $49 I spent on the yearly app subscription could not be refunded. It’s ok I guess. The money is a small amount in comparison to the customer service I’ve received from this company. Please by all means get rich and continue the very successful formula you guys have for your apps. Not!!!!!!!.Version: 3.7.2

✓ Description is Not TrueThis apps promises you that you get 50 receipt scans and all its features a month without paying, it's all for free. But in reality you get five scans and then it won't process any of your receipts. This meaning you have to type in everything on the receipt by hand and it won't even show you the picture you had to take with your phones camera to be able to make a receipt in the first place. This app would've been a five star app if the description were true that you actually get 50 free scans with all the app features for free! This is so disappointing! But I'll tell you this, the five scans I were able to use worked great and I can see a real use for this app if they fix the description. I just hate being lied too..Version: 2.5.6

✓ Needs some workThe idea is spot on. I thought when I scanned my receipts, it would automatically categorise them for you. Everything added is categorised in the same category! You have to go in and change it yourself and edit everything. That seems to defeat the purpose of scanning a receipt if I just have to change everything manually anyway. Isn’t the app smart enough to categorise a receipt from Home Depot as something other than “food and drink?” If this is just user err, please, let me know. But if not, this needs some work..Version: 3.4.8
✓ It’s ok but...The vendor offers free upgrade to premium for one year if you leave a positive review, which I think it’s like buying peoples opinions. However, I wrote a positive review to get premium and he/she emailed me saying thank you and I was upgraded but not getting the scan receipts option, which is what make this app different from the rest. ✓ Disappointed by limited uploadsI love the features. Expense and income view, chart view of each category, can sort by dates, month or merchants and more. It can even fill in your upload by just taking a photo it’s not always accurate and you’ll have to go back and edit categories etc but it’s a nice feature. Shows an overview which is nice also. The biggest thing I’m looking for in an app is unlimited receipt uploads. The free version offers 10 uploads per month and if you upgrade pay $4/mo for up to 1,000 uploads but when you run a business or even as a regular consumer that is not enough. That is first and most important feature I am looking for in a receipt app..Version: 3.7.2

✓ Huge bugI’ve used this app for about 3 years and have loved it for the most part ... after the latest update I’ve found a HUGE bug for my uses in the app. The categories I added in the app have all been erased and even though I went back and added them in again, it won’t let me save my receipts under the added categories. This is a major problem since I’ve been using categories for tax purposes the past years and this messes with my system. Maybe I have the wrong app for tracking receipts for my small business but there is only 4 subcategories for business and none are really helpful. Would be so good to add your own categories to make it streamlined and personalised so you can use the app for what you need. ✓ FunctionalitySome of the functions don’t seem to work properly. When I try and sinc email receipts it doesn’t pick up any of the information from the email. Even when I go back into the expense the email is blank so I can’t even see what the expense rates to. Maybe I havnt figured it out yet but the reports are very limited. If I want to show a report for all fy18 in a particular expense category - it can’t even do this. The app has a lot going for it but needs some significant improvement still..Version: 3.2

I have to give full access to Google DriveI didn’t get far in using this app. Apparently I have to log in with my Google account and when I do Google warns me “this will allow Foreceipt to see, edit, create and delete ALL of your Google Drive files. Why? It’s not that I don’t trust Foreceipt, and I realize that this is probably more of an issue with Google not having a better system for managing security with 3rd party software. But I know there’s a better solution than just handing over total control of ALL my files. I’ve got sensitive data in my Google Drive. I can’t risk this back door vulnerability..Version: 3.4.2

✓ Didn’t work out for me…..I purchased this app because of the good reviews it had received as it seemed many people moved from Wave to this. My experience has been below average. The apps character recognition doesn’t work very well at all. It also incorrectly calculates the total amount in every receipt. Perhaps I am doing something wrong but the aim for me was to be able to scan a receipt, and forget about it. I don’t scan many receipts, I only want to scan receipts for big ticket items so a little disappointed honestly. ✓ Waste of time and moneyAs a small business owner, I have enough on my plate keeping my business afloat. When you’re by yourself, you tend to look for some easier ways or tools that can help simplify some of your tasks. That when I kept hearing about receipt scanners and how they organize etc... I asked around and I said as highly recommend Foreceipt. Well in here to tell you that this app is a waste of time and $120 annually. This app only takes pictures of your receipts and stores them. There’s absolutely no organization, which is my biggest reason for wanting the receipt scanner so that I can cut down the time of having to do it manually for filing taxes. YES if you’re trying to file TAXES, this is NOT the app you want. I will be canceling my subscription as soon as I figure out how to get this so called spreadsheet they make based off the receipt data. Quite frankly I couldn’t be more disappointed in the functionality of Foreceipt. Why? Because I still have to go through hundreds of receipts by hand..Version: 3.7.2

✓ The app can't find internet connection.Every time I scan a receipt it says that there is no internet connection so the synchronization will be done when internet connection is available. The thing is I already tried doing it on different days and always checking that the internet is perfectly ok, but it still will say the same thing about not internet available. It’s further away from the thumb. As well the display is so Much larger I can’t see entire title of receipt such as name of restaurant or business if too long. I have been having trouble with the app, “error -10” and my receipts are not uploading (the attachment is in red) and both the software and my iOS is up-to-date. I went online to try to get information and could not find any, so I tried the contact customer service and it forwarded me to a not secure external site. When you click on customer support, it links you to a feedback page and not a standard customer service page. You have to really search the page for what looks like a proper support email address. I found it under “how to write a review in App Store and earn free package”. So in other words, they will freely give you a free subscription if you give good feedback, but not help others who have problems when they pay for a subscription..Version: 5.0.2

✓ Scans require careful editingI am just starting and 5 out of the 5 receipts I have scanned so far have had errors: date, mistaking change for taxes, merchant name garbled, wrong category. However, I am going to sick with it because it has such great potential and it is forcing me to be conscious of my data. It’s a bit freaky to have the app get a different thing wrong on every receipt, because I went ahead and bought it for a year. But if you look at it from the point of view of all the different ways receipts are designed and organized, this app is genius! I am just going to be patient and grateful I have enough money to be able to get receipts that I need the app! Will report back as things progress. It’s impossible to organize by date of the receipt. Just date the receipt was scanned. Useless! The auto guess of which account to assign seems totally random. I use the same debit card yet sometimes the expense is shown as coming from checking account, sometimes cash and sometimes credit card. This is frustrating because now I have 70 entries coming from random accounts. The settings don’t seem to let me pick. I still have to carefully edit each entry. I have only had 3/70 scans that were accurate. I don’t see how to upload this data to Quicken, Excel or Google sheets. That’s supposed to be some where but I haven’t found out how to use the data yet. Not sure that I should continue. I have 2 months of receipts entered and edited. ✓ Used to be greatI loved this app very much, so I did subscription for over a year, and I just renewed for second year. Starting early March 2018, it had an issue with saving the receipt. Around mid March, all my data for whole month disappeared. Here and there, it seemed to have saved, but couple days later, they are gone, too. I thought it might have something to do with IPhone “This accessory may not...” issue, but even after that was solved, Foreceipt’s disappearing act continued, and their reply of “don’t forget to hit the save button” made me regret renewing the subscription. ✓ Great App!I really wanted to give them 5 stars, because this app is close to perfect, to me it only needs few details fine tuned. And not only that, but changes to the app keep happening out of the blue. I had the free version for a while, with 100 receipts per month allowance, but from one month to the other it was changed drastically to 50, that screwed me up completely! and I'm not sure if i would be able to go back and enter them in app once I get the pro version. I was only waiting for the budget feature to be more flexible so that I can set my budgets according to my needs, currently I would like to set up my budgets bi-weekly (to coincide with my paycheck) but the app only offers monthly budgeting. ✓ No scanning support for email receipts with PDF attachmentsI just started to try this application with travel related expenses I wanted to track. I had airline booking emails, hotel folio summary of charges, and a number of printed receipts from dining out. The ability to photograph and import entries was nice that it could also support the photo album of receipt photos I took from the past. I did have to correct a few entries from the scans where tip amount entries written by hand were treated as some tax amount, even though this was already itemized on the receipts I was scanning. My BIGGEST concern is that I could not create an expense by uploading a pdf, or by forwarding in an email that contains an attachment (typically a PDF) with the actual receipt details that needs to be scanned. Not sure how this will be useful to me since most hotel folios are comprised of room fees, parking fees, and eating/drinks/snacks that are worth tracking with different categories for expense reporting. I am suspecting that this is "too hard" and the app has simply dodged this important part of its use cases..Version: 5.2
