✓ Excellent AppI have no idea why more people haven't discovered this gem of a note taker. You'll find my original review below. My opinion hasn't changed. If you're after a clean simple note taker with folders then this is the app for you. I use it pretty much every day. Well done guys and thank you. Old review below... It's clean, simple and allows for the 2 level basic organizing that we all want when we have a good idea we want not to lose. The dropbox sharing option works very well and is very effective. It's a note taker - but a good one. I've tried lots of other complicated ones which allow pictures etc. but when I'm out and about and need a quick lookup or need to enter some semi-thought out idea this is just the ticket. This app is better than the apple installed notes because when you used the delivering feature it came out goofy and useless. Though, it would be nice if you could, say, type a paragraph on there, and have different swipes for different editing things. (E.g. ✓ Best note taking app that I've found!Upward is also the only note-taking app I use. My favorite thing about it is that you can group notes into folders by category or subject, etc. What I use it the most for is lists, like for shopping, to-do, etc. I like that you can line-through and cross things off the list as you complete them. I've always had an issue using the swiping method to change formatting, but that's just kind of my own issue. I'm OK at it until I think about it before hand, lol! I do have some issues with the shortcuts disappearing and I have to relist them and I don’t like the idea of the app not pulling up my notes if there’s no wifi or data, probably a bug. Unfortunately I recently updated it and lost hours of journaling and notes ): seriously heartbroken and I’ve continued to use the app besides this point I just hope it don’t happen again 🤞🏻 but I also don’t fully rely on this app anymore I’ve resorted to pen and paper 📝 but other than that such a great app just don’t keep all your eggs in basket.Version: 2.14.0
✓ Have come to point it’s my go to note apWhen I first started using UpWord I had a UGH moment somehow or other all my notes got wiped out. I can’t remember specifics, but both the app and Dropbox were wiped clean. However, I like the folder feature, as I like to categorize my notes more then just one or two levels. The undo is nice especially when my being a lousy typist, even more so on my iPad where an inadvertent swipe can make a mess. I wish it had the ability to bullet, indent, bold, italicization. I’m a 64 year old retired trucker and a very low tech kind of guy. I have a hard time understanding apps like Microsoft word and Bear and others. So I have written it on UpWord. It is very easy to understand and use. I believe it has everything I’ve needed to write my book except one thing. It would be be even better if I could cut and paste from photos to it. This app has been with me for 6 generations of iPhones, and I keep using it, but now am seeking a replacement because of the sync issue. I formerly stated it has just enough features to be relevant and a great UI that makes it pleasant and interesting to use, which is still true. It also offers organizational opportunities which help make notes easy to find. ✓ I love this app, but....This is the best note app I've ever seen. I'm using it for school, to write notes, and works perfectly fine. Today, I opened it to study and a notification pops up saying I can get something free from the app. So I choose a font pack and hit redeem. Another notice pops ups saying it will ask for my Apple ID, and I'm fine with that, so I continue and it says transaction failed. ✓ Think is an excellent note taking appThe first time I took a note on this app was on my other iPad that was originally my mom’s. Then for last year’s Christmas, my parents got me the iPad that I wrote this review with. On this iPad, I eventually got this app again . I haven’t gotten the premium features yet, so I only have 2 folders, but I have been taking many notes on this app, mostly about the silly stuff I do. I’ve had this app for a while now, and it is still a very good app to this day. This is the first review I’ve ever given on an app because I’m 9 years old. The swipe features to cross out/delete, to add bullet points or color text etc., are all fantastic. 4 stars because I use this app HEAVILY (instead of a calendar app, on which I struggle to keep up with all the segregated notes and prefer having the list-style interchangeable interface of Upword. But, with those looooong files, it gets difficult to navigate to different sections. So I am writing a review in hopes that they will add some kind of “tab” feature, which you could label within the note, and it would zip you down to the next section within that same file. ✓ Makes a great Dream Journal.I am using this App to record my dreams. I have over 1300 dreams recorded now. My old Dream Journal App was not updated to match IOS 11 so I had to migrate to this App. I did this at dream #1000. And imported them as a whole into one notebook called “My first Dream Journal”. Since then I am recording dreams in “My Second Dream Journal”. So far every thing has worked well except for an occasional temporary Title glitch which eventually works itself out as I close and reopen the App..Version: 2.14.0

I can see a few small issues I would probably want to be improved when I become proficient with the app. In general it seems fairly easy to work with and good basic features. Some features including fonts and themes are premium but if you have a bit of patience they soon give you periodic loyalty rewards where you can choose from a selection of features free of charge. They ask for a review or share if you wish to do so to support the devs but it is not necessary to gain the free item. ✓ Easy to useEasy to use and best non-cloud bases notes app I've found, as long as you don’t set it up for use with dropbox. I made that mistake and then every time i opened notes it tried to sync which was slow and unnecessary as i only wanted that added as a backup. So i had to delete app and start again to get rid of dropbox sync. That was a while back, and i see this is no longer recommended. Would be nice to be able to backup to a file though, purely for recovery purposes. Still love the app and paid for full version which has been worth it if only to remove annoying upgrade message. I enjoy the ease in which I can make a list then strike off things as they are done or purchased. I don’t like the way that I keep seeing the Welcome splash screen at random times then have to restore purchases every time this happens. ✓ Helpful organizing toolI use this app everyday and it is great. I use it to make shopping lists at the different stores I shop at as well as for making packing lists for trips and “to do” lists. It is great to be able to mark through an item and then unmark it. One thing I have found “on accident” that I don’t like is that if you scroll to the top of your list too quickly it will “clean up” your list by deleting everything you marked off. I don’t like this feature because when I make a packing list for example, I mark off the things that I have packed and then usually, when I am getting ready to come home from my trip I go back into my list and make sure I pack everything back up to come home. If I have accidentally scrolled to the top of my list too fast it will delete all of the items that I have marked through and that leaves me at risk for forgetting something..Version: 2.13.0

✓ Needs more detailed manualThis is possibly one of the most useful apps for professional writers existing. It quickly, reliably and simply allows me to use my iPhone, iPad, and both my Mac & PC computers to append or keep track of notes or revisions. If you use Dropbox you can open and save Upword files using any pgm that reads and writes plain text or rtf. I use the native Wordpad pgm that is provided with Windows when on a PC and textedit on my Macs. I have now discovered that it can open and save Scrivener files. ✓ What a Staggeringly Great App!Wow! I'm pretty harsh in my assessment of apps but this one has totally won me over and should be receiving MUCH more acclaim than it does. From Password Lock, to choosing your default reminder times (I start my days at 5am and being reminded at 8am is not useful - this app allowed me to adjust this instantly. Genius for efficiency!) Folders, swipe-friendly 'completed' or bullet point addition (AND subsections), personalised fonts, colours, open app to New Note (if you wish etc), these guys have absolutely nailed it. I suspect the only thing stopping them from truly hitting the big time is (1). Amateur logo (embarrassing to have that on my bottom bar) and (2) Currently only 'testing' integration with Evernote. ✓ Wish the colored folders were differentThis app has what I was looking for--colored folders, and the feature of crossing off lines that makes shopping lists way easier. It's easy to organize, a great replacement for the notes app. I just wish the colored folders were more than just a little bit of color next to the words. The color-coding is really helpful to me so it would be nice if the whole heading or even the entire folder was in the color that the folder is. ✓ UsefulI use UpWord constantly to make on-the-fly notes about almost anything, and use it to record everything from casual shopping notes to decisions at board meetings. There is only one thing I find irritating; the inability to go to the top of the document by double-tapping the top of the screen. Every other app has this ability, but not UpWord. To return to the top of a long document, one has to flick-scroll to the top. It’s time-consuming and could cause unwanted changes in the text. Otherwise, it’s a great app. 👍 2021-09-02 Update For some unknown reason, the select highlight doesn’t work if the keyboard is visible. ✓ Nice!I wanted something prettier and better to use that the notes app that comes with the phone and this is great. Looks good, works well and syncs with the Mac, which is everything I wanted. I'm using it way more now. Only criticism is that there seems no way to create the note title when you make a note. You have to re-enter the note to modify title. Otherwise it simply takes the top line of the note, which is fine except then you have a repetition of that top line. Small thing but I'd like the option to set a title when note is created. ✓ The only 5 star rating I've ever givenI am extremely detail oriented and need to have control over everything to feel organized. From the font, to the size, to bolding/italicizing and bullet or number lists, color coding and folders, headings and so on... And I all but gave up finding an app that gave me all of that. No lie I have looked for years. This was the LAST one I was willing to try and in no exaggeration at all, it has changed my life. I've never written a review for an app because I've never cared so much or been so positive impacted by an app. This is my lifeline: in less than one week of having it I have added more 60 notes in 7 different categories (not to mention sub categories within) and just being able to choose colors, or font, or all of the above from before, it makes this app experience MINE. Linking to DropBox is a lifesaver too because my lists and notes are constantly uploading and saving remotely, so I don't have to worry about any freak accident and losing hours of organizational efforts. ✓ A great appI seen this app talked about in an article for apple devices with the app being praised highly which I agree with. The latest update is great and has been done really well. It's my go to app for taking notes and planning with the folders being easy to navigate and create. However, I'd really like to see some iOS 8 iCloud support soon if possible as not everyone is so confident in Dropbox. All in all, a wonderful app that is a strong rival for other note taking apps, including Apple's built in one. ✓ Great note taking appI have literally tried every note taking app worth trying and Upword has become my favourite note taking app in just a couple of weeks. I love Vesper for its simplicity but the developer has promised a basic feature like syncing for the past year and the app never gets updated. I also love ia Writer app but yet again, the developer hasn't even bothered releasing a keyboard update since ios7 was released. You can see the the developer of Upword is invested in the app and has already been updated 2 or 3 times since it's release with improvements and bug fixes. ✓ Used to be my favorite...This used to be my favorite note-taking app. I have used it since it first came out. I loved all of the features, especially the organizational features and flexibility of the text files to be used and viewed in various formats. I wish that this app would continue to be my favorite note-taking app. However, I have begun to use Apple's Notes again because, most critically, I have access to Notes when I don't have cellular or wi-fi service. When I don't have cellular or wi-fi service, all of my Upward notes completely disappear. In addition, Notes has developed many of things that I enjoyed in Upward plus it has the ability for me to import photos, the ability for me to handwrite notes, and the ability for me to draw on photos and pdf files. Furthermore, I have also had a serious issue with "ghost" repeating reminders that are un-deleteable. Messages to customer support have not been returned..Version: 2.14.0
