✓ Great game but....The game was great when it worked. The hang ups were many but if you want a great older game this is one of the better ones. Could only rate a 3 but would have given it a 5 if not for the problems with the game..Version: 1.0.2
✓ Shows promiseThe game seems like it could be fun, but it has flaws. The tapping is WAY off. I had to tap on several items many times in order to select them. At one point, I even used a hint to make sure I was tapping the correct item. I was, but still had more trouble trying to select it. The map is pretty useless. It shows you every area with something to do, whether you can do it then or not. That's frustrating. The hint button is useful, but I had to use it too frequently in order to find out where I needed to go. WAY too much back and forth, and no teleporting that I could see. So, I'll pass on this one. Too expensive for too little. But, at least I got to try this game before purchasing. I don't like FB's new policy of no trial game!.Version: 1.0.2
✓ DisappointedI won't buy this one. I should have listened to the other reviewers who said that you had to tap multiple times and/or tap very hard to interact with objects. This gets very old very quickly as you begin to doubt that you can even pick up the object and then suddenly, on your ninth or tenth tap, it reacts! This interferes with strategy and game play as it becomes so tiring you just stop caring. This is too bad as the game had good graphics and looked promising. (I was intrigued by the Mirror World shown on the map.) I'll wait for something better to come out AND I will pay more attention to my fellow reviewers the future!.Version: 1.0.0
✓ Unresponsive and frustratingThe game is tedious to play because when one taps on anything it takes multiple taps to get the item, if at all. And the hint icon is the same..tap on it multiple times to get it to respond. Speaking of the hint function, I am not a fan of the wordy description of what to do...just take me to the area and indicate where to focus with the usual sparkle effect. ✓ 🎃🌀👫🐹Tricks or Treats?!🐹👫🌀🎃Greetings, Gamers: 👄 Riffing on Hamlet here, that seems to be the question. With way too short a trial, it's hard to decide whether to take the plunge and purchase. To buy or not to buy, that is the question? The pros: Elephant brand, great graphics, jump map, truly creepy atmosphere- right in keeping with the season of ghosts and goblins. The cons: HOS seem to be of only the list kind, seems there's just running from room to room, finding objects, returning to place them, rinse, repeat, etc. Saving the children theme wears a bit thin, while the demonic possession of kids may be bothersome to some gamers. 👿 As another reviewer already noted, it seems you must go through the diary to exit from the map. Or vice-versa. Can't recall, but do know that it is frustrating. I'll stay tuned for further reviews on this one. I've not enjoyed all of the Grim series, so an automatic buy from me isn't guaranteed here. Shouts to the Dream Team and much appreciation to those who continue to give feedback that our reviews are helpful. 😊 Here's hoping y'all (humph...auto spell doesn't recognize a popular Southern colliquialism?! ✓ Trumpet doesn't workThis is the only game I have an issue with. No matter what you can't click on the trumpet if you have an iPad. And no matter how many people complain about it, they won't update it or anything. Very upset that I pay for games and they can't make sure they work properly. ✓ Could’ve been great, but....Update: Upon playing this game again, the tapping has actually gotten worse! I had to tap on the toy trumpet over 100 times! I don’t know if iOS updates have affected this or what, but’s it’s ridiculous. So I knocked off another star. I love the Grim Tales series, and even though this one doesn’t have Richard 😰, it was good. The main story and the bonus chapter do not make sense together. So you’re broken-hearted over your husband’s death, so you say a curse into a mirror to give you immortality? Okaaaaaaay.... The tapping in HOS is, as others have mentioned, an exercise in futility. Forget getting the “10 in 10” achievement, bc you have to tap repeatedly on some items to get them. I’ve tapped on an item 4-5 times, thought ok that’s not it, looked around, back to same item another several taps, looked again, finally tapped like 10 times and yep it was that item all along. The game is lengthy, and after you complete the bonus chapter you can access the Hall of Memories, which revisits some HOS and puzzles but in a different way, with a story involved. Very cool. The puzzles are original, some easy, some harder, but all very doable. The scenes are beautifully done, love the Disney princess-type room, done in a grim kind of way. Collectibles are 12 statues scattered throughout the game, which allow you to play “movies” in the cinema. All in all really enjoyed except for the taptaptaptaptap.....Version: 1.0.2

✓ Too dark and creepy even for Halloween seasonI bought it without a trial for the sake of Elephant games brand...and it was a big mistake..3 stars are for their signature amazing graphics, new and beautiful mini games, the Extra chapter...and that's all for the pros...On the negative side is the map, which is less helpful than usually it is...and all those too realistic, too dark monsters, which jump at you from the backs of the possessed kids and are creepy to the point, that I had to press Skip button a few times... ✓ AggravatingThis is ridiculous. I've hit two areas where I couldn't continue because the tapping didn't register. On the first, I just had to tap to turn a key. I just began hitting the screen repeatedly until it suddenly worked. The second is one of the hidden object areas. I see the trumpet in the top corner near the "strategy guide" button but I can't get it. The hint lights up and I tap on that spot and all around it but it doesn't't work. ✓ Needs some major improvementI usually love this type of Big Fish Games, however I think they rushed this one into production without testing it. Tapping is a huge issue; have to double tap or tap repeatedly trigger an action IF I can even get to the trigger. When I finally made it to the gym, picked up the brush and was confronted by a demon. I’m so frustrated because the hint AND strategy guide says to get the toy mouse under the cabinet but I can’t get to the cabinet until I remove the demon. Did I mention there is nothing in my inventory to remove said demon?! I can’t even reset the stupid game. ✓ Not as good as I had hopedAt first glimpse, this game seemed really good, the story line and graphics were the best feature. Other than that, the mini games were so easy to do, and there were not many. Also, had it on a medium difficulty setting, but I found that finding items and working out what interaction they required was quite difficult. I found myself using the hint button a lot. Also, it glitches quite a lot when trying to switch between the normal world and the mirror world. The ending was a bit of an anti climax as well. Also, no bonus level at the end. Not very interesting HOS and incredibly easy puzzles. ✓ Another game stuckI am also stuck in the HO in the music room as I cannot pick up the stupid striped trumpet. The tapping has been erratic throughout but this is just not responding at all on my iPad mini. It is positioned very close to the strategy guide button and partly behind two moving drums.
