✓ Can’t open filesStill can’t open documents with multiple tables in. How can you have an app that can’t open its own file format? Will have to move to another solution as they have known this for years and done nothing to fix!.Version: 5.4.2
✓ A Blah do writing appIf you only want to write a few things on the app it's ok. But otherwise google docs is way better. It's way too difficult to view docs, you have to use a separate app for sheets and more often then not the app doesn't work. Don't even waste your time downloading the Zoho docs app because that does nothing..Version: 5.1
✓ Nice google docs alternative but TONS of glitchesUsing this on computer is a dream, its better than docs in every way and is private. But phone is a miserable experience. Constant crashing, the app erasing my words for no reason, the app doesnt even load half the time without crashing anymore. ✓ Really underdevelopedZoho writer on browser is awesome with many features, but the mobile app has virtually no features. No dark mode, page formatting doesn’t display, text and line spacing are uncomfortably proportioned … I really like zoho (wanted to stop using google docs because of privacy invasion) but I find the mobile app virtually unusable. I hope it eventually matches the functions of the google docs app.Version: 6.3.12
✓ Okay but Not GreatI started using Zoho as a more secure alternative to Drive. On a computer it works quite well, but the app needs some work. Sometimes documents lag terribly as you type, it crashes regularly, there’s no dark mode, and if there’s a way to use the outline to navigate a document on mobile, I haven’t figured it out yet. Hopefully with time this can become a better app!.Version: 6.3.9
✓ Does not work on iPhone —crashesI’ve tried and tried my company uses Zoho across the board and this is one app that will not work even after support calls. And sadly Zoho WorkDrive will not play with other apps..Version: 5.7.3
✓ FrustratingBasic function:- select all,cut do not exist right indent, left indent, center of a document freezes or you have to wait 10 min No customization to font & color to stay on as default Highlighting text does not stay on to finish formating text size & color, you have to do one step at a time I know itis Free and I do not recommend it till Zoho fixes it.Version: 4.1.2

✓ I would love to love this app.The app has a clean interface, which is a refreshing trend these days. I would use this app more consistently if it would finally support the iPad's split-screen functionality. It baffles me that there are still apps that do not. I would like to be able to access my notes, or a website during my writing process. Alas, Writer, even with its more current update still does not. ✓ Great concept but way too many bugsThe app itself is styled nicely and easy enough to use. But there are just so many bugs at the moment, and not being able to change the font and style of the writing is annoying, too. My app constantly crashes, or freezes without saving the last paragraph I’ve written so I end up writing most stuff twice. I’d rather just use the online writer, but it’s not accessible on mobile or tablet devices. If you fixed the majority of bugs, this app would be great!.Version: 5.5.2
✓ Great start but lacks some basic featuresI use Zoho for everything and I love it but this app and the other desktop versions of Writer are missing one really important feature. Being able to put the file into a specific folder. I don’t like having to remember to go into Docs and moving it after it is created. Also, since Workdrive is headed to replace Docs it would be nice if we could choose to save to their as well. I have noticed some lag the bigger the file gets but for the most part it gets the job done..Version: 5.5

✓ The Web Version Is BetterEver since the latest update the app does not sync with the latest version from the website. it still shows documents that I deleted on the web version of Zoho writer. Also, there is no dark mode, no track changes, or editor tool like on the web version. It also won’t let me open any documents that are still Available even new ones I created on the web version, it just says I do not have permission to access this document, when I do have permission as I am the one who created it and only one with access to it. Might just uninstall this app because despite it missing important features I need due to my eyes and sensitivity to the color white as I’m sensitive to bright colors, it at least was working, now it’s just completely broken and useless compared to the online version of Zoho writer..Version: 6.3.7

✓ Love Writer, but Not the iPad appI like Zoho’s products a lot, they’re free and they get the job done just as well as Docs or Word. I love the interface on the desktop app, and the phone app is a great companion, especially when using notes on one and writing on the other. Where the issue lies is with the iPad app, it constantly crashes and gives me a message that it couldn’t save and deletes a portion of my progress. Sometimes I need to write on the iPad for convenience or because I cannot get to my computer, and the issues that the app has makes it easier to write them somewhere else then copy and paste to my existing document..Version: 5.7.8
✓ Not really meant for sharingI’ve never written an app review but thought I should after receiving a link to a doc created with your tool. I tried to open it on my mobile and was prompted to download your iOS app. I didn’t want to so chose the “No Thanks” option but the doc did not load in the mobile browser. Downloaded the app but clicking the link did not auto open the app and the doc failed to load on the browser again. Copied the link and pasted it into the app and was prompted to download the app again. I need to see the document so downloaded the app and then was forced to create a log in and still the doc did not open. Clicked the link again and I am back to the browser with no doc. Can’t find a way to copy the link into the app so instead of getting ready for my meeting, I am writing this review..Version: 5.5.2
✓ Won’t even work for minor editsViewing documents is the best you can do with this app. Even minor edits—adding a period or a space—can cause it to crash. Or worse, cause it to reload, which will result in your edit occurring in the wrong place in the document, or only some of the characters you typed showing up. I often end up creating more issues than I started with when I try to make edits. Long story short, yes, it works as a document viewer. No, it doesn’t work as a document editor..Version: 5.5.2
✓ NopeAttempted to copy and paste a large document that was a fail as the file was corrupted and the text inconsistently appeared within the document. The interface looks very nice however I then tried to copy and paste fractions of a chapter at a time and this resulted with the ap unexpectedly closing. Soon thereafter this ap was uninstalled. ✓ BuggyI’m a fan of zoho for the most part. But being a business owner and especially one that writes software ourselves, it seems to me that zoho tries to do way too much and doesn’t pay attention to detail. Slow down. If you’re going to build an app, at least let me get past the first page which shows me how to swipe left or right for more options. I don’t care about options if I can’t use them. Don’t block the interface with tool tips and no way to get it out of the way. God gave you a brain. You’re smart. Use some common sense..Version: 5.3.1
✓ App Crashes on iPad Pro | UnusableI love Zoho products and swear by them. However, this app not working on my iPad Pro as is. It will crash with in 30 seconds of opening it. Specifically if I use my Apple Pencil in any manner. For devs: I know that the sheer number of integrations and applications Zoho has is just.. staggering. So in an effort to assist here are my system specs. iPad Pro 12.9” 1TB (16GB RAM) - 5th Generation iOS 15.5 I hope this helps and I am excited for this application works. ✓ OoooofMy friend and I use Zoho to share our collaborative stories with each other. The website works well enough, and we have a great time editing with each other live. The app on the other hand offers none of the convenience of the site. Typing lags so far behind what you are writing, you might as well be carving it into a stone tablet. And heaven forbid you want to copy and paste more than one word into it. The thing bogs down to near crashing with as few as 20 words selected to be pasted. We have had more than a few issues where it will randomly place our curser somewhere else in the document while we are using the app, and we will lose random sentence fragments pages away from where we had been working. If they even get written down at all. And don’t you dare even think about any kind of formatting while on the app, it won’t translate to the site version. You won’t get any of the double space periods your phone placed in there either. Don’t forget about the weird random extra spaces between words that you get as well. That’s if it doesn’t just not save huge chunks of text at random. We still use the site, and will keep using the site, but we cannot safely use the app and you cannot either. At least not until an acceptable update makes it useable..Version: 5.5.2
✓ SucksI downloaded this app a few weeks ago and had written a small book, among other things. Then I wasn’t on it for a little while and it logged me out. After I logged back in-EVERYTHING WAS DELETED. Also, before that, whenever I saved a story, it would delete the periods! Like what the hell?!?.Version: 5.6.2

✓ Great look, too many problemsMost concerning is that when I use my microphone to input text, sometimes the text disappears. This has happened several times in the course of the last half an hour since I downloaded the app, so I am going to get rid of my account because it’s just not usable for me. Also: less concerning but slightly time-consuming it is the fact that every time I navigate away from the screen, it has to reload my document. And finally, I couldn’t figure out if there was a “select all” option. I saw cut and basic select, but for my work, “select all” is a must-have capability. Maybe I’m just silly couldn’t figure it out, but that played a small role in my decision to stop using this app..Version: 5.2.1
✓ I like the idea but this app is TOO buggyIt keeps freezing or displaying blank page in the read mode, before I can get anything done. ✓ Awesome App with Minor ProblemsSo there’s another problem that I encountered. Sometimes the app crashes and deletes whatever I had just typed at the time. It’s a little frustrating to deal with. Also, whenever the app shuts down, it undo some of the changes I have made and even messes up some of the words I have typed. For example I typed “The fantasies...” and after the app crashed, and I went back to sync my work, it saved as “Th ntasies...”.Version: 5.1
✓ DisappointingSuper disappointing. This app lags horribly while you’re trying to type, and if the document is more than a few pages it crashes and shuts itself down immediately. Tried restarting my phone as well as uninstalling and reinstalling the entire app, with the same results. ✓ NEW update Destroyed usability on IOS Apple IPhonesWhatever you guys did with your segregation of the apps with work drive and writer, destroyed the app for us. Great, now 50 employees can’t access Writer on their phones because when you click a document in WorkDrive, writer opens and crashes. Brilliant, it’s been doing this for 4 months and you all still haven’t fixed. Maybe Zoho One isn’t what I thought it was. Diss appointed in you guys..Version: 6.2.2

✓ Barely worksSoo glitchy! It’s horrible! Please fix this app! Every time I erase a letter or sentence, or do anything, it takes ages and doesn’t show the change. I have to keep closing and opening the document if I want to see what I’ve done to it. It crashes after 3+ changes. Not usable at all. ✓ Completely non-functionalI wanted a cloud alternative to Google/Apple's data-sniffing services, and that meant no Docs/Pages. Enter Zoho Writer, which seemed to meet my needs for a simple word processor that was cross-platform and had cloud functionality. I recently created a Zoho account to use the desktop Writer. Unfortunately, this app completely collapses on itself trying to open any synced document, taking upwards of 5 (FIVE) minutes to even load, and the instant you try to edit the document the app locks up and either quits the document or completely crashes. It should be noted that local documents aren't affected, but for someone like me who only wanted the cloud functionality this bug essentially killed the app for me..Version: 5.5.2

✓ Not usableThere is a lot to like about this app. After doing some research it fit my needs best. But it freezes often, every 30 minutes before iOS 13 and more frequently now. You can’t write a period the usual way. For example, that last period came as all of mine do on an iPhone: two taps of the space bar. On this app a period is there until you save the file. Then it’s gone. So I changed my style to actually type a period, but it seems some of these disappear, too! These are issues are PRIOR TO iOS 13. Under 13 it’s even worse. They couldn’t write the app properly for 12. Why should I think they can fix it for 13?.Version: 5.5.2
