Great EQ training and easy to useI love this app for training ears to hear frequencies.Version: 2.4.0

HearEq is amazingReally cool to use right before I start school! HearEq has the right amount of songs to study from all genres. I recommend this app to anyone wanting to develop a golden ear when mixing/mastering music..Version: 2.2.0

FunkyThe app SLAPS.Version: 2.4.0

This app is amazing...I haven’t wanted to write an app review before using HearEQ. But I’m telling all my musician/audio friends about it, so it feels only fair! I used to use Golden Ears back in the day for audio ear training. HearEQ is like what Golden Ears wanted to be when it grew up. Lean, mean, contextually applicable machine. The ability to load up your own music, actively train and quiz on is game-changing. Doing this while outside of the studio environment (my favorite place to assess mixes) is a dream. Lots of thoughtful detail helps you train exactly what you want to train. I went straight to buy the advanced EQ module, IMO this should be priced at 30 bucks not 3. So valuable. And so hard :) TenKettles/Alex is my hero. Thanks for making this, it’s directly responsible for improving my hearing and skill as an engineer..Version: 2.3.2

Very cool A+++Something I’ve always wanted!.Version: 2.4.0

Hear EQ, ear training on the flyBeing able to listen to boost or cut frequencies on real tunes you know is very real world helpful. I have been looking for this type of tool ever since I had earn training at Berklee. This is it..Version: 1.5.0

Love this appBought this app to help me better recognize the different frequencies. Loving it so far! Definitely making it a part of my daily routine to practice 30min a day!!! Love it that I get to practice to the songs in my library! Keep up the good work!.Version: 1.4.0

FinallyThis is the eq training app I have been looking for! Perfect! Awesome company! Awesome app!.Version: 2.4.0

Right to the point. Love it.Does exactly what it is intended for while keeping it simple and bug free. I especially like using songs from my own library for the learning process and the quizzes. Edit: i have one request for the developer. Please allow the quiz to go beyond 10 questions so that i can enjoy songs from my library all the way through. I would pay extra to unlock a feature like that. That's how much of a difference i think it'll make in the experience..Version: 2.2.0

This is amazingHey Alex + the whole dev team, this is some seriously awesome work and a great joy to use. It’s helping me out a ton. Thank you for helping make my life and the life of all the musicians and engineers out there that much better. Recommending this to all my music tech classmates!.Version: 2.3.1

GreatLove this app. I'm still a beginner but this is what I was looking for. Charging for pink noise seems like a bit of a money grab when you can just put it in your music library. Still, it's great..Version: 2.2.0

Best thing ever happened to me!Must buy for any serious musicians..Version: 2.2.0

Well designed, simple, effective appThis is a great little ear training app for learning how to listen critically to EQ adjustments. I bought both the pink noise add-on and the advanced mode add-on. I'm finding it really helpful to train my ears on pink noise, then practice on musical material. The developer apparently welcomes user feedback and has made improvements based on user suggestions, which is always a plus in my book. Well worth the price!.Version: 1.2.0

It's coolGood training. I saw a big improvement in my listening after 30 mins. You should know that it's another $2-3 to unlock the 30 channel EQ. You start with ten or so..Version: 2.2.0

Sound trainingWonderfull little trainer. Plays like a game with my favorite music but quickly trains my hearing. I run sound at church and my home studio but have had no formal training so had a lot of room for improvement. Instant help in identifying problem frequencies..Version: 1.2.0

Cool AppLearning to identify frequencies is essential for anyone interested in audio engineering and this app does a good job with improving your skills. I would like to see some refinements in the user interface, but overall I would definitely recommend this app..Version: 1.2.0

A very useful and fun/easy to use app!As a pianist and student of auditory science, I found hearEQ to be a one-of-a-kind app that helped me learn more about music, train my musical ear, and even blow off steam a lot more productively and uniquely than many other apps out there! I strongly recommend hearEQ to anyone with any interest in music or sound..Version: 1.0.0

MarvelousOnce you’ve started ain’t no going back..Version: 2.6.0

Very useful app! Improved my mixesThis app is very helpful. I've used it to improve my mixes. It helps you learn to recognize what frequencies are too high or low. With the pink noise add on I purchased, it makes a great ear game that teaches as I play. The developer was super helpful and let me know we can import our own MP3 files for mixes we are currently working on using iTunes. A great tip! Right click on the song in iTunes and add an album and artist under get info for best results with that. Anyway, get it. This is one of the best apps I've ever used in terms of improving the quality of my musical work..Version: 1.2.0

COOLNot sure why but every time I try to open the app it immediately crashes/closes making it unusable. I uninstalled/reinstalled it several times with no luck. iOS version is up to date etc... Please fix? UPDATE: the app finally opens and functions fine now, i thought it was due to an updated version since my last review but since the Dev responded and i dont see any changes in the Version History timeline i'm not sure what happened; but i'm glad i can finally use the app! Gave it 4 stars for the nice interface and good customer service, will update my rating again once i experience the app's learning results and methods etc..Version: 2.4.0

Module?Hi, just got this app last week and I love it. It’s been a game changer for my ability to hear frequencies and correct feedback! I purchased the pink noise module and am not finding where to access it. How does it work?.Version: 2.3.0

Yes!!!I've been looking for something like this. This is a great app!.Version: 2.2.0

Only needs 1 more featureIt’d be really helpful if there was a Compare button after you miss a question on a quiz. That way you could better understand the differences between your guess and the right answer. But I use this daily!.Version: 2.4.1

Best on the app storeLove the UI and the 30 band feature. (Wish they had a Q option though).Version: 2.2.0

AwesomeReally help me with my listening, by noticing the difference frequencies. Thanks.Version: 2.7.0

OutstandingThis is an absolutely must-have app for ear training on your phone. I have a few others that I hardly use at all, because nothing else I've found comes close. Simple, full-featured, effective, and well designed..Version: 2.1.0

Actually Pretty GoodGreat for learning how the mixing of certain frequencies change the sound of music. Only took off one star for making us pay for pink noise. Edit: Adding the star back because of how much I'm enjoying using the app and the developer definitely demonstrates their care for the app..Version: 2.2.0

Ear training on another level💯❤️.Version: 2.4.0

This app is great! This is one of the best ways to improve your ability to recognize frequencies. PERIOD! It’s accurate and affordable! My only complaint is that it’s not available for computers.😔.Version: 2.7.1

Good enough to share!I tell my friends about the app!.Version: 2.4.0

Good stuffWorks fine over here. Great little app to learn the frequency relations in music..Version: 1.1.0

Must Have! For an audio engineer like myself it's imperative to be able to pick out frequencies on the spot. I can train my ear while listening to my own style of music anywhere at any time..Great app!.Version: 1.5.0

EQ your own songsPerfect for working on your own music or favourite purchased songs 🔥🙌🏾😎💫.Version: 2.3.2

Must grabSo far it’s helping a lot in my first few minutes of using it. I love how you can adjust the quiz to just one frequency or all of them! A must grab for all producers and engineers..Version: 2.3.1

Fast developer response timeApp crashed on launch when I first got it. Left a review about it and - what do you know - it works not two days later! Excited to dig in and leave a long term use review..Version: 2.7.2

Nice!Very handy for ear training on the go, or preparing for a mix..Version: 1.2.0

Really Good App, Just One thing Missing..I really enjoy using this app. It helps fine tune my ears for better beat production. I just wish I could add song to the add song feature without having to connect to a computer. Not having a MacBook with my iPhone makes this process very difficult. Maybe a feature where you could add songs directly from iCloud or files would be nice, it would definitely deserve 5 stars. Other than that the app is perfection..Version: 2.4.0

DopeGreat for ear training!.Version: 2.2.0

Just what I needHeard about this app training from a friend. Really need it. Always playing solo acoustic gigs and the mix sounds horrible. Or I buy a pedal or a mixer to save the day and it just makes it worse. Using this training I hope to figure out what needs adjusted up or down so I can give my performance some much needed clarity. Scoring 3 out of 12 on Day1 so I definitely need it..Version: 2.6.0

EQing is black magic! Turns out it isn’t.An amazing tool to develop one’s EQing skills. You can read about it as much as you want. The best way is still doing it and there is no better tool than this app. I am a high profile live sound engineer and I still like using this..Version: 2.4.0

Great ear trainingI produce music and this is excellent ear training for frequencies - Can also use own music..Version: 2.4.0

Great app for training tour earsThis is a.Version: 2.4.0

Great appMan what a great thing. This will help me with mixing a ton..Version: 2.3.2

Lifting weights for your earsReps every day!.Version: 2.4.0

Absolutely an Essential app for training your EarsAs a musician ear training is perhaps one of the most overlooked steps on the learning curve. To really achieve a professional sound, having sharp ears is crucial. The problem is it's usually not fun, and can get pain-stakingly boring. I'm grateful for coming across this app as it makes ear training fun, simple and very effective. Build this into your daily routine, and you will reap the results in no time. PS. Would really like to see an add-on feature for 1/3 octaves for complete mastery of the frequency spectrum!.Version: 1.4.0

Better and betterThis app continues to mature as a very capable ear training tool. I wish I could have had something like this years ago..Version: 1.3.0

Guess the EQThis test checks to see if you can spot the change in EQ. I started off scoring 2 out 10 questions correctly. I stayed with for about 15 minutes and soon I was scoring 5 out of 10 questions correctly. This does work and what’s more it focuses on my inability to correctly answer low EQ questions correctly. Most questions that were high-frequency based I could spot fast, but low-frequency based questions I still struggle with so that’s important feedback for me. Tells me which area of the frequency spectrum where I need to pay attention. Great product!.Version: 2.7.1

Perfect. Buy it now.Elegant User experience makes this app incredibly intuitive and easy to use. My only enhancement request would be to allow the quizzes to increment through a playlist on either each quiz, or each question..Version: 2.4.0

Great Ear Training ToolI'm relatively new to EQing, I stumbled across this tool and I'm glad I did. It's a great way to become familiar with the various frequency ranges and what they sound like, within the context of your favorite music installed on your device. Fun & educational!.Version: 1.5.0

Brilliant, fun, effectiveThough it’s only my second day using this app, it’s quickly becoming my go-to training tool. The number one things this has over other solutions is the ability to use your own music library, training my ears on much more relevant content. Would love to see a Mac version to use on my monitors..Version: 2.4.0

Fun way to learn how to eqApp is smooth, fun, intuitive. makes learning a tedious and precise task easier! great refresher even if you've been doing it for years!.Version: 1.5.0

So far I like itIt's a pretty smart way to become familiar with frequency ranges, by removing or adding peaks to songs in my library. It's much harder to do than I thought it would be. Edit: the more I use this, the better I think it is. It has the side benefit of training my ears to hear how famous songs would sound if their overall balance was disturbed and I think it's making me better at knowing what a well-balanced mix sounds like..Version: 1.4.0

The bestEvery once in a while I remember how awesome this app is and curse myself for not practicing with it more! Essential skill training for mixers, producers, and music directors..Version: 2.2.0

Helpful ear training toolOnce I figured out the game, this app is a cool way for you to learn how to recognize what certain frequencies sound like from songs of your own choosing. Super cool!.Version: 1.5.0

Fantastic!Great way to tune your ears into recognizing different frequencies. I was wondering whether the app accounts for the slight increase/decrease in volume of the song as a whole when a single frequency band is increased/decreased? I feel like, when using the quiz, you always already know whether it’s an increase or decrease automatically simply because the song as a whole increases/decreases slightly in volume. But perhaps this has already been built in and I haven’t trained my ears well enough yet!.Version: 2.4.0

Love the update!By far the best new feature is being able to see the correct answer if I've guessed wrong! Can't learn without feedback!.Version: 2.4.0

Great support interesting resultsFirstly I had some settings on my iPad and I couldn't get any songs up, once I sorted that out with support from heareq it worked fine. I am surprised how bad I am at recognising frequencies and am glad I got this app. Hopefully I will improve..Version: 1.2.0

Excellent for audio studentsI love the fact that you can pick your weak frequencies to work on. Very accurate and customizable..Version: 1.4.0

Great AppThis app is perfect if you are trying to practice identifying frequencies and problem solving when it comes to EQ. Being able to practice with songs in your iTunes library is a nice feature as well. Another helpful feature that I discovered is using the 30 band EQ (upgrade) practice mode to identify where certain instruments sit in the mix. 5/5.Version: 2.2.0
