✓ EarthCam not so Schedule-FreeI’ve loved EarthCam since I was young which is why it pains me to write this review. I downloaded the Earchcam App on my Apple TV to use as a window of sorts, I wasn't particularly a fan of the interface as finding preferred cams was difficult since it's in a type of scheduled format. And after leaving a cam on the TV for a while it would either change to a different cam (as per schedule) or archive footage. After browsing for a while I finally decided this is annoying and decided to purchase the "schedule free" option. The cam selector is still in the ridiculous schedule design but whatever, I'll find my preferred cams but when you select a cam it still gives a splash screen saying this "cam is scheduled to play at" xyz with the options to Preview or Watch Now. After choosing Watch Now, in the bottom right a small text will read "You're now watching schedule-free!" But STILL, after 10 minutes or so it will change to archive footage! Are you kidding me? What did I pay for? You best believe I got a refund. And don’t even get me started on this iOS App Version, it’s beyond useless with little to no access to anything..Version: 1.7.18
✓ Not worth the moneyThis is now my second review. The first was done some time ago. Funny thing is, this app really hasn’t improved. It still crashes often. Still has cameras out. And now if you want to leave a comment you have to give them access to your Facebook profile and you can only leave a comment through their Facebook page. Another app (Facebook) that I don’t like. I’ve written emails to them and they can’t be bothered to answer. So they are like most other companies - out to make money and give nothing in return..Version: 1.7.3
✓ Changing webcamsI would off given it 5 stars as I love seeing all parts off the world,but the Jackson hole one has been changed to a empty field!! The square was so pretty and as it was lit up at night you still see the beautiful lights.Version: 1.6.4
✓ Failed!After watching the Temple Bar I told a friend who is visiting Dublin to appear on the camera and I would take a photo. ✓ Earth CamYears ago you paid a fee for every block of earth cams to purchase them outright. To which I did. I bought all blocks of cams and enjoyed watching them. Now they require you to pay a monthly subscription fee. I recently had to reset my iPhone and when I did it wiped out my Earth Cam app. I downloaded the app only to find out I now have to pay for the subscription. I contacted Earth Cam and was told I would now have to pay the monthly fee even though I already paid for all cams. What a rip off and horrible customer service..Version: 2.0.21

✓ They consistently block viewingThis app consistently blocks views of weather events that could otherwise be viewed by its subscribers. Case in point, Hurricane Ida. There was a secure view from a balcony in the Big Easy district… they decided for some inane reason to put up a picture of a traveling clown parade instead of allowing the viewing of the hurricane effects in real time. They do this kind of censoring consistently. Don’t purchase this app unless you enjoy being treated like a child that needs protection from viewing reality..Version: 2.0.13

✓ Was great, but most cams stopped workingLove the app, I have it on devices and Apple TV. Recently the apply tv version stopped working properly, the majority of cams are blank but have small print descriptions of sites that were not there previously and when I try and view them they all link to one of the New York recent clip replays. As it’s working now it’s not good, hoping this is under some update work and resolves. Is there a problem with the apply tv version ? Located in Australia..Version: 2.0.10
✓ Love the App - Mostly!I enjoy the paid app, though there are more cameras available on the website, and it seems we should have the same selection. My only complaint is that the sound frequently fails. I think it happens when the video or scrub feed is inadvertently sped up (which you can tell by how fast the people and cars move as well as electronic billboards). ✓ Love the cams when they work....poor customer serviceI really enjoy "traveling" via the cams and watch them quite often. I purchased the unlimited access for both my iPad and my Apple TV. However the app for the Apple TV is less than impressive and no longer works at all. What's really disappointing though is the customer service, I contacted them via email and didn't hear back for several days so I called them. They said they don't know who I could talk to but they looked for my email and confirmed that they received it. Rather than let me talk to someone they said they will pass my email along. So I guess we will wait and see if it ever gets to the right person that can respond......Version: 1.6
✓ Review for both the IPhone & AppleTVI first bought this app to view crazy weather before it arrives here. I’m a paid customer... so when I found out the created an appletv app, I assumed my previous purchase would include access to the new Apple TV app. It does not. I ended up paying for the Apple TV app separately, assuming The Tv app would work similarly to & in conjunction with my already paid-for iPhone app. It does neither. The Apple TV app won’t let you search for cameras, it has a predetermined list that you can watch “schedule free” with payment. if the weather I’m curious to see coming isn’t in one of those predetermined locations, I’m not going to find it. Next, I hoped that since both the iPhone & TV apps are both paid for, I thought surely there must be a way to use the more navigable iPhone app to stream a specific camera onto the tv. ✓ Thieves and horrible customer serviceDo not buy the extra cams they offer. I purchased them and my iPad became unusable and I had to purchase a new one. I went and downloaded the app again. When I logged in I did not have the cams I had paid for. I went to the restore cams option and it said it didn’t have a record of my purchase. I looked through my apple history and found it in less then 5 minutes that I had paid for all the cams the site offered. I have emailed the company over 5 times requesting they restore my cams or refund me the money if they refuse to honor their sale. I have been robbed then ignored. Have some standards. 2/3 of the thumbnails work (ok) there is no way to look up the cam or favorite cams and cams that we watch regularly that are popular and “trending” get taken away?? ✓ So disappointingThis cam is really not worth having. You can go to different cams and get an almost perfect picture. However you also have many cams that do not load so you have to refresh/reset whatever it is that brings it back up. I’ve written a review in the past but nothing has changed. If a person has favorites and you can’t watch them because of this it’s disappointing. There must be some way to fix these glitches. I would update my review if this happened. ✓ Too Few CamerasOur young daughter and I were looking at WebCams from around the world on my laptop yesterday, and I decided to download this app so we could view them on my phone. When I did I noticed that I had previously downloaded this app and then deleted it from my phone in the past, which I’d forgotten. Now that I’ve downloaded it again, I realize why I deleted it. The $4.99 in app purchase price to view all cameras would seem reasonable if there were indeed many live cameras to view. However, when looking at their map it appears there is only one in London, for example, which is completely ridiculous given the number of potential cameras to view there. The handful (175+) of cameras available even with the in app purchase makes the world seem very small place, and that’s not what I had hoped to share with our daughter. Sadly, I’m deleting the app again as there is no point in having it taking up space on my phone..Version: 1.6
✓ All cameras lost on new deviceIt has now been almost 8 months and several emails back and forth and still no full app availability on my new iPad. I have full access on every other device but it won’t restore my purchase on the new one. Just don’t get why this is happening. So frustrating! Recently got a new iPad Pro, went to restore my purchase of this app and it just continues to load. I’ve been a paid member for years and would very much like to have this on my new device.
