✓ Never any new puzzlesI have had this app for quite a while and all the time I’ve had it there has been a ‘coming soon’ section at the top. After completing all the free puzzles I was waited for months for an update that would finally have some new puzzles for me to do, unfortunately they seemed to just change how the hint system worked. I decided to purchase the monthly subscription so have access to the other puzzles. It took me a few months to finish all of them, so I had hoped that by the time I was done there would be some new puzzles for me to do. Yet somehow over the course of the 6 months from finishing the free puzzles and now finishing the member puzzles, no one has thought to add anything new to the app..Version: 2.18.2
✓ Crashes with every updateI have been playing this game since the beginning. I even paid for the “Lifetime VIP”. I had always played at night to relax before bed and help quiet my brain. For several years I have dealt with issues loading the game after an update but usually could get it to work within a few days. Since an update in October I have not been able to get the game to load. It gets stuck at 99%. I have tried everything except for deleting and reinstalling since I don’t really want to loose all my progress. There has also been an ongoing issue with data sync not working for several years now. I have emailed multiple about both issues and have gotten no resolution. I hate to say it but I am probably done with this game unless a fix is pushed out soon. ✓ Great Game Getting Gradually WorseI would have rather had an in-game report option rather than having to write a negative review, but here I am. I’ve played this game daily for years, so I obviously like it very much. They’ve been increasing the frequency of ads, most of which have not been overly problematic, but nobody likes tons of ads, so it’s worth mentioning. Now to why I’m actually here (again, a report button would have prevented this): They’ve recently added banner ads beneath the gameplay field. I adapted to not accidentally touching the ads fairly quickly, so I won’t complain much about that; however; this has broken gameplay to a fair extent. We now have severe lag and extended gameplay freezes, with and without the timer continuing. Note that this was never a problem until the banner ads arrived. This game used to be aesthetically pleasing, and now it looks like cheap garbage. It’s all so, so unfortunate. Tell me, as you chase off your player base, does your ad revenue increase or decrease? ✓ Updates...So, I absolutely love this game! As the game describes, its super easy to learn but fairly tough to master. Luckily, I think I'm just about an expert now. However, the updates absolutely RUIN the daily challenges. I understand that the updates are incredible and give us more levels etc. BUT there is nothing more frustrating than working your way through half a month of daily challenges ranging from really easy to super hard puzzles, just for all your game data with your daily challenge progress to be lost... I don't know if this is just me, but I get this with pretty much every (majorish) update. If there was a way to fix this, I would strongly encourage the developers to work on this as it does ruin the experience a lot, especially for players who have been playing for a long time, and have figured out the techniques. ✓ Freezes & dosn’t give coins for watching!!I did love the game, but since the last update, the game FREEZES after EVERY commercial ad! I have to close out of the game & go back in again!! How annoying!!! Plus you LOSE the coins you were supposed to get from watching the ad!!! This happens no matter where you are in the game- daily puzzle, regular path puzzle, etc. I kept waiting for the developer to fix this issue- but nothing has happened yet! ✓ Why Even Bother Playing?I’ve played this game forever. I do the daily puzzle every day, I save up coins to go back months and years to play old ones. I’ve done this constantly. But this company has completely lost site of their game. I freely support that games should have a free version and a VIP version, but when you damage the free version this much, it’s ridiculous. I have to watch a video to play every single new puzzle and it’s ridiculous. This doesn’t encourage anyone to get the VIP subscription which I already think is silly, it’s not a streaming service it’s a puzzle game. Certain packs should be a buy to buy process. It makes me not want to play at all. I like having more options to watch videos to get coins, which I utilize, and I don’t mind watching an ad between puzzles, but when I have to literally pay for each puzzle through whatever micro transaction takes place every time we see an ad, enough becomes enough. ✓ Awesome! But please read😕...Hey developers! I don’t know if you’ll see this at all, but in case you do I just have a little feedback. I used to be absolutely obsessed with this game! It is a fantastic idea and I used to play it for hours! Now I completed the game and every puzzle few months ago, and while I still have the game, I feel like it’s gone a little downhill. I get the company needs to make money, so I would deal with the few adds that would pop up and it would be an awesome game. Now you have added the thing where you have to BUY most packs, and it’s gotten very expensive. Since I’ve completed the game, every time a new pack comes out I think ‘yay! I can play some more!’ But once again, you have to pay for it. You haven’t gotten out a free pack in MONTHS, all I get to do is the daily puzzle and they are always very easy. I just feel like you could add more free puzzles so people who really just want to play the game can play the game. You could even ad more adds, but I really feel like I want to play the game I used to love😢. But all in all, great concept. I love the actually game part. ✓ This used to be my favorite…But after I got a new phone in June, I lost several years of progress and coins. After multiple emails, I finally got my VIP status returned, but it took weeks. The progress and coins were gone forever. Suddenly last month the same thing happened, although I didn’t switch phones. It took a week to get reinstated, but those ads were awful! Then today they completely changed the game. They’ve introduced hearts, and I can no longer change the space I marked. Every time I make a wrong move, I lose a heart. Once my hearts are gone, I have to watch an ad to get another chance. This is a ridiculous bait and switch. I paid for VIP to never have to deal with their ads again. ✓ Used to love it!I’ve been playing these puzzles for years and have always enjoyed. However, just today i opened up the app and discovered that they have now implemented an “energy system” which costs me energy to play each puzzle and prohibits how many i can play during a time period. What’s more, it charges you energy for just opening the puzzle, so if you get to the puzzle and decide you want to play a different one, you will waste the energy. Even MORE infuriating is that you can tap on a game, go back to the screen, tap on a new one, and the one you previously tapped on does not remain unlocked, so to go back to it you will have to spend energy once again. I understand the developers have to make money, which is why i was sympathetic when the paid packs were released, and the premium “Expert Mode” too, but this is too much for me. An energy system just makes the game unplayable for me, since i typically play in spurts with multiple puzzles after another. I am very disappointed in this development and if it continues I will likely stop playing the game. This game was good at its core, and cracked me up with its funny pictures and copyright-avoiding movie titles, but I feel like the developers are straying away from that and it has taken the fun out of it for me..Version: 2.11
✓ Ads and downloadsEvery time you open this app, even if you’ve only closed it for a moment, it feels the need to download data? It needs an option to update if you want to rather than automatically doing it. Between every game and every time you open up there is an advert even if you click “next game” rather than “watch an ad” it gives you an ad anyway. ✓ Addictive but too many adsI used to enjoy the daily puzzle where i’d pay money to play it but now it’s full of ads that last around 30 seconds, click on the X to come off it, then another 5 seconds before clicking X again to continue with the game. Not to mention another Ad once the puzzle is complete. If there were fewer Ads, i’d play more often. ✓ UselessI updated the game, opened the app and as it’s loading it says “this may take awhile”. Well it’s getting to the point where it is ridiculous! ✓ Game getting worseThis game used to be one of my favourites, but it's getting worse with every update. They changed the look and feel of the game and the font colour of the numbers for each row and column is very hard to read when it's blue. Additionally, the sensitivity of the fill/blank buttons has gone way down so switching between the two is frustrating and you end up marking the grid wrong. More recently, they've put in way more long, unskippable ads with audio that ignores your device's sound settings which is making the game frustrating. Will be deleting the game soon if this isn't resolved as it seems the game is going to continue to get worse..Version: 3.9
✓ I know it wont make a differenceI know it wont make a difference to the developer, my leaving a review, but I will echo countless other reviews that insist that the monthly subscription is simply too steep. $4.99 a month for a few puzzle packs is simply boggling. I would be willing to purchase individual puzzle packs (providing they weren’t each more than a dollar or two), however a monthly subscription for this kind of game does not make sense and I will not be purchasing one. That said, I enjoy the puzzles I do have access to and find gameplay usually intuitive. There are quite a few that require hints in later levels though. Because of this, I would appreciate a bookmark feature that you can save puzzles at a certain step and then “rewind” back to it after attempting to solve by trial and error. ✓ Love but hateI really love this game, I look forward playing it every day with new puzzle. But with this new update when I try to sync my data from the cloud (because you have the 2 different option cloud or on the storage) it keeps rebutted and it won’t load with my save data. It’s really annoying because a whole calendar is empty. I went from from 38 crowns and having 1204 puzzles done to only have 37 crowns and 1152 puzzles done. Please fix this update. ✓ Data Sync BrokenThis was genuinely one of my favourite apps for several years but I had to switch phones and now I can’t reconnect my account. It just gives me a “something went wrong!” error. I’ve reinstalled the app multiple times, and I’ve tried contacting support and they said they were determined to help but it’s been months and I’m still having this issue. ✓ Hurry up with the updateI loved playing this. The levels got harder, but I got better so enjoyed them even more. Don't listen to the reviews saying about energy depleting too quickly. If you're using your hints then this isn't the game for you. My gripe, I've completed all the free levels and now it keeps wanting me to upgrade and pay to unlock new levels. I don't mind the ads so am happy with the free game, just hurry up and release it. Feels like months since new levels were added. This is the only reason for 3 stars. Get lots more free levels and I'll give you 5. Also, not sure how the expert mode is supposed to work. I have 6 red stars to unlock it but it won't let me. ✓ Too many adsThe core gameplay of this game is great I enjoy a good nonogram but there are way too many ads for this game I’m not saying the devs don’t deserve to get money from the free game they made but this is way to excessive when you complete a level you three buttons one less noticeable than the others and one you click gives you an ad but gives you a reward and the other just skips to the next level except half the time it does give you an ad and the third button takes you back home now I thought since the third button didn’t explicitly send you to another level it wouldn’t give you an ad but it does it’s outrageous I just want to do a puzzle without having an ad in my face for a crappy mobile game every 30 seconds.Version: 2.28.3
✓ Fun, but not well-designedDefinitely a fun game, and great for those like me who enjoy logic puzzles. However, the actual app is poorly designed. Not only are there ads everywhere, super unexpectedly, but the app takes a good 30 seconds to load every single time it opens, and will freeze and crash every time you navigate away from the app in the middle of completing a puzzle. Lately though, the daily puzzles have been literally impossible without using the hint system, and many have had multiple possible solutions, which shouldn’t happen with a nonogram puzzle. ✓ Data Still LostI’ve been playing since October 2017. There was an account link issue and then my game got stuck unable to open. I contacted them multiple times with no help. The only suggestion they gave was deleting the game and then logging in again. It was my last ditch effort and now I have no data anymore. Years of progress just gone. It was my favorite game but it’s too depressing to start over. They keep telling me to email them, so I do it and then they provide their auto response that they’re “working on it”. ✓ Turned into pay to winI used to love it, but now everything costs too much. The new challenge levels, where you have to erase instead of build up without making a single mistake, and no temporary marks allowed, are impossible. I had access to the “actors” puzzles for a day, but it is now locked behind vip and I didn’t get to finish them and can’t move on. No new free puzzles. Daily ones are impossible without using coins. It is just a blatant money grab. There are much better options out there. I try to switch between the black square and the X setting and it freezes every single time and sometimes it doesn’t switch it all. I tried to do the daily puzzle this morning. It was completely blank, no numbers or anything. I tapped a random box to see if it would fix anything and it showed the picture at the end result. I’ve closed the app multiple times and gone back throughout the day to see if it would fix anything and it’s been the same result every time. Even when coloured in you’re often left with the feeling of “are you kidding!”. All seems to be engineered now to making you buy coins or watch lots of ads. Used to be one advert per day = 1 clue. Now you need upward of 5 ads for some of the clues. Even the most useless clue now requires more coins that watching the 1 daily advert rewards you with. ✓ Needs work2021.08.17 - Another update hoping to see fixes, no luck. This game melts my phone, lags like crazy, so many bugs - it’s unplayable. These devs are incompetent. After a couple years of holding on it’s finally getting deleted. (Old notes follow:) Watch an ad before the daily level, okay fair, but if you tap into the ad you’ll “break” the game and have to pay additional premium currency to unlock the level. There’s no way to remedy this, it’s just broken. Very easy to reproduce. There should be mass coin refunding for this bug. It feels like the developers don’t play their own game. Update 2021.05.06: Another game update, hoping to see any of the many fixes or suggestions implemented, really hoping they fix the initial app load time... NOPE! They added a splash screen to the app launch to add even more wait/load time to the user experience. Unbearable. Such a shame. ✓ Reset Daily ChallengesI really enjoy this game, but this evening they reset all the daily challenges for this year saying “We added more levels for this year!” Well, I’ve done today’s and yesterday’s and they are the same puzzles, just the data is reset. That’s not the same thing as adding levels. ✓ Gone downhill...Unfortunately this has become the buggiest and most frustrating game I've ever played on my iPad. So many bugs, constant freezes, crashes. Loses your progress and you have to start a puzzle again. So bad when almost finished a puzzle after 15 minutes. Watch ads, then don't get the reward. Have been playing for quite a while now, and it keeps getting worse. Don't really know why I keep playing, but I want to complete all the puzzles. That could take years though, as they slowly drip feed the main puzzles. Have waited weeks for a new category of 20 puzzles. Complete them in a day or 2, then wait weeks again. Plus changing between colouring and empty boxes became much slower. I got to the point where I had played every level possible, completed all of the daily levels available, and was waiting on new levels and playing the new daily levels. ✓ Ruined by heart systemI’ve loved this game for years and played the daily puzzle without fail. A recent update added a system of three hearts for each puzzle; make a mistake and you lose a heart, make three mistakes and you have to start again. That not only completely ruins the way I play (deliberately draw in something that’s probably wrong, then trim back to the bits that are definitely correct), but also penalises people with hand problems. I quite often accidentally press in the wrong place because my hand doesn’t necessarily go exactly where I intended, so I lose a life. I have played this app daily for a couple years now, and stuck with this one over other identical apps specifically for the fact that I could just hover my thumb in a general area, hit one spot and it would toggle back and forth. I could mark it up so quickly without thinking about it. Now I have to actually look at the buttons every time I need to switch and make sure I’m hitting the right one. ✓ Lost progress & purchases; horrible supportI used to love this game, and I even purchased the Lifetime VIP membership! Before changing iPhones, I made sure I was logged in before resetting my phone to ensure my progress was saved. On new phone, the game only loaded to 99%, then got stuck forever. (Restarted my phone & the app dozens of times confirming this.) Deleted the app and redownloaded from App Store. The game now loads, but when attempting to log in for the data sync, it gives me an error message—AND the button to restore purchases does nothing!! I reached out to customer support over 3 months ago (and had to prove all the steps that I’d already told them I’ve done via sending screenshots). They said, “We have forwarded this information to our development team for investigation”. I haven’t heard anything since. Today, I reached out again to request a refund—or to at least have another VIP membership activated under a new account. I’d love to be able to continue playing under my promised “lifetime VIP”, even if I have to start the game over without any of the coins and bonuses I earned. ✓ Loved it until the last updateYikes that update killed all the joy in this game. It was a clean, easy to use, fun nonogram app. My whole family played. And we didn’t need to be VIPs. If you used the coins judiciously, you could still make it through the hard levels. But the latest update means that it would crash every time you’d watch a video to earn coins. And that it would never offer videos when you went to spend coins. Suddenly, we were all out of coins, and there are levels that you just can’t win without either guessing all over the place (and since you can’t use the undo feature an unlimited amount of times, guessing is really difficult to do), or by spending some coins to get some squares revealed. I’m now stuck on Superheroes 14. I’m playing by taking a screenshot and playing it in procreate where I can have unlimited undos, but it’s way harder to do it that way. And too much bother. It’s great if you play the one daily puzzle a day, but I’ve been working through this app, unlocking stuff and every update frustrates me. I lose progress randomly. For someone who likes to unlock everything, I now have puzzles that I completed now say they’re locked and I can’t go back to do them because I’m not a pro member. And the most recent update just locked all of the packs that I had worked to unlock and it seems you have to complete them in order instead of doing some here and there like I had been doing. ✓ Loads Slowly and Freezes FrequentlyI’ve been playing this game almost every day for years at this point, but when the rebrand happened, I feel like everything just went downhill. The app is extremely slow and freezes on me to the point where I have to close it fairly often. I’m also trying to go back and finish all of the dailies I’ve missed, and the puzzle for January 7th, which I apparently started in January but didn’t finish, won’t load at all. It just stays on the loading screen, moving so excruciatingly slow, until I close the app entirely. I love how challenging the puzzles have gotten lately. It forces you to think a few steps ahead at points, which is really fun. For a while, the puzzles felt too easy and were unfulfilling, but the current difficulty is good for me. ✓ Great game but changed since the updateI’ve been playing this for a while now (completed all the free levels) but since the update, the daily levels are just stupid! The fundamental rule to logic pic/hanjii is that you use LOGIC and that you should never have to guess. But the daily puzzles are now too hard as there are so many 1’s and 2’s etc you can’t logically work it out. I had over 1700 coins when the update kicked in but they soon went on the new hints as the levels were impossible to complete without them. My partner and I used to enjoy competing for the fastest time on the dailies but she has now quit doing them because of how hard they’ve become. ✓ New update is terribleI have loved this game for years, and I didn’t even really mind the fact that it often freezes after pausing - it’s just an inconvenience to reload it. However, the newest update now makes you pay 600 coins if you want the random line to start you off on the hard levels which used to be free. This is extremely disappointing.. I would be able to get over this and just stop using it if it didn’t still pop up every new level so now I have to close it each time.. Additionally, the very bottom row is now half blocked by the bottom menu making it extremely hard to even finish the row. But I have difficulty seeing the numbers when the puzzles are more challenging and the blocks and numbers get smaller. And yes, I know you have a magnifying glass, but that’s a pain to maneuver, and the arrows get in the way. I find myself just bagging your game of the day and waiting for a less difficult puzzle with numbers I can see. Isn’t there any way you could make the font on the numbers darker? I’ve played other games like this with more squares that were much harder and had no trouble solving them so I know I’m not just being stupid. On Today’s daily challenge I couldn’t even fill a single square before I had to use a hint Bc there was absolutely no row or column with enough information. It says in your tutorial as well as every other explanation of this exact kind of puzzle “there should be NO guessing work” but look at that, now just to solve your puzzles I’m either buying hints or guessing. ✓ Some issuesThe data sync system is flawed, and so I have recently lost a lot of the last year of playing despite being connected the whole time. Also, as often happens the game refused to open fully after an update and so I had to completely delete and reinstall since it was frozen up and would never open despite repeated attempts. This game also requires internet connection to start up if you wish to play any of your purchased packages even though it clearly denotes in the settings page that you have full vip status. It should give me the option to download the packages and then keep them all on unless stated otherwise, because many of us don’t always have internet connections. Quite irritating. Game wise, I enjoy the puzzles and I like the overall game mechanic’s compared to similar games. Hopefully they can address data sync, update, and internet requirement in the future..Version: 3.47
✓ Great game, but broken ads steal energy pointsFirst off, I love this game. I seriously spend way too much time on it, and I’m not one that’s constantly on their phone. In fact, I’m the type that can easily go all weekend without looking at it. ✓ Ads too long and intrusiveOverall I think this could be a top-notch game if they fixed a few things. One, it asks me every single time if I want to play the cloud game or a local game. Either remember the answer and give the option to change it in settings or just assume, like every other game does, that I want to continue from the cloud. Two, it would be nice if the game would auto-fill the Xs if I clicked the clue bar when all the colored squares are filled in. Third, and almost all free games suffer from this so know it won’t make a difference, but the ads are way too long and unavoidable. There is enough advertisement being sold, and a lot more lately in this app, that my having to watch ads is enough of a payment in my mind. I used to enjoy playing this game but recently there was a big change that if you haven’t purchased the VIP package all you get is the daily game and some bundled games that if you play and beat your previous score in a certain time you get some coins. There are a lot more ads than there used to be. Seems like every time you start a game and end a game there’s an ad. If you exit out of one of the “mini” games and get back in there’s an ad. Games aren’t saved if you exit a mini game so not only do you get to watch an ad but you get to start with a blank puzzle. Plenty of other ways to entertain yourself. ✓ The game itself is good…But every time they switch up how you make coins, there’s always a glitch for a month or so. As of a few days ago, it now says for watching a video ad, I can make 300 coins instead of 90, so I went to watch a video ad, finished and closed it, and the game froze. Today, I opened the app and tried watching the video ad 3x in a row, and it just lets me continue to watch them but not give me the coins for it. Stop changing the game and the way you get coins - just add new levels and leave what works alone! Since the new update, you can’t get your coins for daily level either as when you finish, it doesn’t show you the photo or anything, it just sits on the screen like you messed up despite solving it, but if you go back to the daily main screen by going into the menu and clicking the door, it shows you that you completed the day. ✓ Intrusive adsToday I started playing while listening to a podcast. Every couple minutes an audio ad would start, pausing my podcast. What makes this annoying is that due to something in this game’s ad structure, when the ad is done, the audio I was originally listening to doesn’t come back. So I have to switch apps, restart the audio and when I come back to the game it’s a 50/50 chance that it will have frozen and I have to restart the app entirely. All because an audio ad won’t allow my original audio to restart when it’s over. This is likely to kill the game for me as the podcast or audio I’m listening to is my priority. This happens w the ads I’ve encountered between the games sometimes, but restarting the app between puzzles doesn’t make me lose all my work on a puzzle. So this ongoing issue has now become untenable..Version: 3.42
✓ Like it has been said: Too Many AddsI used to play this game nearly every day for years. However, since the latest update it forces you to watch an add before every. Single. Puzzle. I would watch the booster adds probably twice or three times per day. And now I’m forced to watch them? Not only for the daily puzzle (which I could understand, not like but understand) but for the unlockable packs as well!! Ridiculous. On top of this their redesign has some issues. It provides text instead of images like it used to, making it harder for those who can’t read English. The graphics are more busy, making it harder for those with sensory issues. And they jacked the prices of the old dailypuzzles from 90 in game coins to 200 in game coins! (There was a short time where it was only 15 coins to do so, but I think that was a just a short term excuse to point back to after the price was jacked so much.) I love this game without the mandatory adds but unfortunately I will no longer be playing this game..Version: 3.9
