✓ DisappointingThe original Great Little War Game is a classic with plenty of variation in the maps and missions. This 3rd game (and last) in the series is a stripped down version of no.1, no cut scenes or skirmish mode. Maps are all small islands and just kill the general or destroy the enemy base. Just needs 1 engineer to take over a money rig. Not much strategy needed and enemy IQ is poor. Upgrades feel pointless. Real let down from Rubicon I'm afraid..Version: 1.3

✓ DisapointedHaving played this games predecessor I was excited to see a sequel. However upon starting the game it became obvious that the former elements that I loved were not there. The AI is at times pathetic and rarely aggressive. The missions don't have the scope and size of the previous game either. I was hoping to see new features or units to improve the game and was disappointed. However, although I can play the game whenever I leave the main screen, try to add “Battle points” or install any of the other options that it prompts me to do it goes to a blue screen where I can do nothing. I have deleted and re-downloaded the game a few times but with the same result and that of course takes me back to game 1. So I can’t upgrade or really do anything. Frustrating 😕 I tried contacting app support but it only opens up a blank page. I guess they need app support for the app support page. Not getting any better! ✓ Could be so much betterThis is really just extra maps - the game is the same as the earlier one. I loved that and don't mind paying extra for more maps but Rubicon should not sell it as if it was new. Also I agree with other reviews - for veterans of the other two games in this series this is easy even on the "hard" setting, which is disappointing. ✓ Save your moneyI was desperate for a sequel to either GBWG or GLWG. saw this and thought I'll buy that. Disappointing in that the "scenarios" in this game are nothing more than the skirmishes in the previous two. They modified the skirmishes to either kill general or destroy hq. Further the computer player is so weak that some scenarios can be completed in 2 days. Lunch bag letdown. Still if you loved the other two there still is some gameplay to this. The missions had small land, sometimes starting toe to toe because of how small the area was. Could take over the enemy in insane small amount of moves. AI really leaves a lot to be desired. On my iPhone 5S, it's a major battery killer, and it makes the phone heat up quite a lot. The gameplay doesn't help, either, because the AI is beyond dim-witted. In previous WGs, you had to think a little bit and strategize--they weren't brain busters by any means, but there was a little challenge--but in this one, the AI will let you walk all over it even if you use bad strategy or no strategy whatsoever. ✓ Good gameplay but some major things need to be fixedSo I can play this game on the iPhone 7 Plus but the one problem I have is how large the menu is and the settings. The settings when I access it I can’t edit out of the settings because the exit button is all the way down the bottom and only half of the settings menu is on my screen and I am talking about the upper half, and the only way I could exit out is that I have to reset the game. Also the menus kind of cut off on the edge you should get a cropping tool or resized tool to fix these problems because the menu and settings are too large for my phone to fit the whole thing inside so makes the gameplay less enjoyable with that bothering me. ✓ Disappointing outingAs a big fan of the previous GLWG and GBWG releases, I snapped this one up as soon as it was released and found myself very disappointed. The other games, while not particularly difficult, did at least require an element of strategy and planning. Not so for this one. So far it's pretty boring, I hate to say. I'm ok with the portrait only (would prefer the option to do landscape, but it's not a deal breaker, particularly with the tiny maps this game has), and I'm fine with no new units. But it's pretty inexcusable for the AI to be as awful as it is. It would be one thing to have AI that can't fight its way out of a paper bag if there were multi-player, or even skirmish where I could slant the odds toward the AI, but this game only has a single player campaign, and frankly, it's not really worth my time due to the extreme lack of any challenge. ✓ Best for newbiesI have completed GLWG and GBWG so was excited to see a sequel. GLWG2 improves on the original by including elements from GBWG such as ability to destroy oil rigs and factories. That's the good. Factory capture is now done with a single engineer capture rather than a double, which dumbs down an already bad AI. And there are no settings except the ridiculously easy default. These are the worse set of boards in the series with the exception of level 60 (and that is the final level!) I kept waiting for the boards to get more interesting and the AI more challenging but it did not happen. Others complain that there is no landscape mode and I see on the developer's site that it is coming but it won't save an uninteresting game. The boards are small and boring with little thought put into them. The original GLWG at least had good boards. If more involved boards get added as an add-on pack and the AI is beefed up, then I may come back. Otherwise I do not see any replay value that I saw in the first 2 games in the series. I played GBWG many many times..Version: 1.0

✓ Great series, but missing previous advancesI have to say I love this series of games, and great big war game was excellent, really challenging with big maps, fuel and ammo depletion and funny cut scenes. On this game the maps are very small although 60 of them, they r far too easy, with no cutscenes, less units and not much strategy involved. Point upgrade system is still present however very easy to unlock/upgrade and once you unlock certain units you will breeze through levels. ✓ The first sequel I've ever seen that took away featuresThe first version is much better. They took away a lot of the strategy by removing features they already had. I've never seen a game do that and I've been playing since pong. The biggest thing that is gone is the fog of war. This makes it easier to plan but totally takes away surprises. Next, you can't run out of fuel or ammo. That means less planning, less strategy. And then whole units are gone too. No more scout or engineer. This just takes away a lot of the challenge and fun. I'm hoping they might add them back as purchases, that would renew the whole game. It doesn't seem like that would be hard since they already had them. Good enough to plat though. ✓ DisappointingI'm sure there is a large and loyal following of the franchise of GLWG and GBWG, I would've thought that by now we would have an option that eliminates telling us how to play every time. Strangely, the ability to get rid of zoom in animations is no longer here. Annoying watching every shot take as long as it does now. Graphics seem to have a bit more depth and detail but seem darker for some reason. Don't see myself paying for any future instalments if it's like this one. Shame... I feel like someone's little brother got the licensing for this game from Rubicon and made their version as quickly as possible. No polish, no fun, not a great game.
