The worst app I have ever downloadedIt was fine to start with, but last week it was demanding I had to pay for that week’s issue, then it let me access it and now I cannot access it at all. It keeps telling me I have to sign in, and even when it gives me a log on screen and I enter my details it just reverts back to the screen saying I have to logon again. I am seriously considering just cancelling my subscription completely. I had thought the app was a good enhancement, but now I have had enough..Version: 8.2

Current editions revert to payment charge,.My Radio Times keeps reverting to payment request when I have a current subscription and when I insert my subscription number it still requests payment. The current week has now reverted to that whilst next weeks and past weeks are available via the “cloud” symbol without charge. Not very good and annoying..Version: 8.6

Now absolutely useless!I have cancelled my subscription. This app is now absolutely useless - the latest update took away the ability to place a yellow dot against programmes I wanted to watch. I used this as a reminder of programmes I was interested in - now I can only put a bookmark on the page - what is the use of that! I would have a bookmark on every page. Also the bar at the bottom that allowed me to scroll to certain pages has also gone. What morons thought these changes make this app better 😡😡😡😡 Why does the response to my review tell me about the bookmark feature as though it’s some accolade when I’ve just said in my review that the bookmark feature is useless!?!?!?.Version: 7.0.0

Really bad updateThe recent update has made the app much more difficult to use. You can’t directly access a specific day’s listing, the ability to mark a specific programme with a yellow dot no longer works and the feedback does not work either. Don’t bother with it. I’m cancelling my subscription when it renews unless the app gets a lot better..Version: 7.0.0

And it gets worse- do not buySo I go to the list of days and press for any day. It takes me to an enlarged list of days and so I press any day. It takes me to an enlarged view of the photo printed just to the right of the first list of days. When I go to Saturday, I still can’t mark programs. Does anybody test this rubbish out? Or is it just given to a group of monkeys to see what they can randomly produce for next week. This app is not value for money or fit for purpose. Can’t we go back to the previous version, which while it wasn’t best quality, at least gave a semblance of what we needed. I will be cancelling my subscription unless you come up with a working combination of app and issue. I would advise everybody else to do likewise. There is no information to warn of problems, if that is what you have. Why not? No readable content on screen“in enhanced PDF form” no! An iPad will screen-read the text in a PDF. The enhancement here is removing that option. Digital copies should by default be more accessible than print, since already in a computer and so no need to scan and OCR, but the text here is this [seriously not enhanced] “PDF” is unreadable. This is not right! Just put up a normal PDF and it would be readable!.Version: 5.6.5

Subscription lostThe new app worked for two weeks then my subscription disappeared. It is a buysubscription purchase, £60. Redeeming with the account number does nothing. Help from the app menu only gets bot response. A few days later the redeem feature did work and next copy of Radio Times could be seen..Version: 7.0.0

Dreadful update!This was an excellent app. Now it is not. Radio Times is a large magazine. It was easy to navigate because a simple icon took you to a contents page from where you could easily select the part of the magazine you wanted to look at. For instance if you are looking at Thursday TV and you want to to check on something you saw last Sunday or read a film review and then go back again to Thursday TV you have to turn around 80 individual pages twice! I have no problem with the content, that is why I pay for it, but it is now very irritating to use. E Grierson.Version: 7.0.0

This app is very binary, it either works well, or not at all.On a good day not a bad app, on a bad day, it may be quicker to walk to the local shop and buy a copy! Deducted another star! This app is truly terrible until you get access to the content. Any chance of an update to make it usable. Update July 2021 After years of putting up with this mostly rubbish app, I found I could use the Libby app to borrow the weeks radio times in from the library in virtual form! Zooming problemsThe latest problem with this app is that zooming makes pictures disappear on some pages (& this is particularly irritating when text is embedded in those pictures). Scrolling to another page and coming back to it usually brings it back but zooming again (necessary to read the text) makes it disappear again. Really irritating, please fix!.Version: 5.6.5

Upgrade doesn’t work, will have to cancel my subscriptionUseless. The new version of the app with the extra features doesn’t recognise my subscription or my password and the password reset feature does not work. After some tedious toing and froing, managed to sign in and recover my subscription. But when the new edition came out at the end of the week, it didn’t allow me to download it but wanted me to buy it again. The only cure was to delete it and reinstall it. A genuinely terrible app - avoid. And I had to reinstall it again today. If you don’t want a lot of hassle - subscribe to a different magazine, I have never had to use such a flaky useless app, one star is an overestimate, I think it realistically should be minus one..Version: 7.0.0

Not scrolling in landscapeUntil recently could read perfectly in landscape orientation, now the pages are not correctly aligned, they do not scroll correctly. Usually 2 pages appear side by side, but now the first quarter of the lefthand page is missing, the next page moves further to the left and the following page starts to appear. Portrait mode still okay, but I like to see 2 pages side by side. Very frustrating!.Version: 5.6.4

Not happyI have a subscription to this online. I pay monthly and yet 50% of the time (or more) the app doesn’t work. Won’t load, gets stuck, etc. Now, with advice from the magazine, I deleted the app and reloaded it and now it’s asking me to buy the newest magazine instead of just opening. IPad app not working properlyI had a problem with it asking me to sign in in a loop. Developer told me to delete the app and start again, which worked as I am now back in. Major Update ProblemsAs someone who has had a digital subscription for a long while, I get annoyed that each and every time there is a version change with the app, my subscription is not recognised and I can’t access the magazine! I’m fed up with having to keep reporting it, because it takes too much time sort out. Fix the issue, I’ve put in my subscription number got a blue tick and it asks me to pay £3.49 to read an issue! New update flawedWhilst the new update has some advantages, it has several glitches. I like the fact that you can tap to view a more reader friendly format of each page so I no longer have to expand and move the pages around. However, the function is inconsistent. From Saturday to Tuesday, you can view the page you are on, then use the right arrow to move to the next page - logical progression. On Wednesday, this changes so that you have to scroll down all the way to the end of the day’s listings and the right arrow takes you on to Thursday, which is the same. There is a book mark functionality, but this just sets the bookmarks - I can’t find any way to move to the marked pages. This is inferior to to the previous methods of highlighting individual articles or programmes with the yellow blob. The navigation instructions at the front of the magazine are for the old version. These bugs need addressing before it can be considered an improvement..Version: 7.0.0

Useless support system - no recognition of print subscribersAny other magazine I subscribe to has print only / digital only AND print and digital Subscriptions. This app provides: (1) Absolutely no recognition of existing print subscribers. (2) Absolutely no option to have a print and digital subscription. (3) Absolutely no info. Re how many devices you can access the app with (ie print version gets read by all the family).Version: 5.6.4

No highlighterI only ever really buy the Christmas issue. Since last year you can’t highlight shows you like. The old functionality for this was basic at best but they have even got rid of this. Should be able to favourite/bookmark programmes you want to watch and then see them all in a favourites view. You should be able to click into a programme for more info but no. What you have is a glorified pdf copy of the printed version with next to no extra functionality. Very poor. I’ll be sticking with printed version and a highlighter pen in future..Version: 8.0.0

Why the poor update?The latest update has added a bunch of annoying features or removed useful functionalities. For example, while I can click the bookmark option there is then no obvious way to find bookmarks later. Why was yellow blob removed with helpful quick access to link? I saw something saying you could go to home page to see bookmarks but I don’t know where that is as it doesn’t jump out obviously. Secondly the nice way to tap at bottom of screen to flick through pages has been removed. I keep tapping there forgetting that you have moved it and it jumps me into some advert. Also if you don’t touch the screen right to move on a page it will put the page into a very odd reading view that doesn’t enhance the experience at all as you have to go out again to get to next article..Version: 7.0.0

Help!!!I haven't got a subscription, but I'm buying a digital copy every week. Since the upgrade, I can't find how to "pin" programmes and the days are getting mixed up. Every time I clicked on "app support" I got an advert for a form "Typeform" which is nothing to do with Immediate Media Co but may be what they use. Apple support has been sending me in circles as I only get an advert for "Typeform" or "Immediate Media Company" wanting to know about my subscription which I haven't got. I'm not sure how to reboot it so it clears and reloads properly....Version: 7.0.0

Hard CrosswordEvery week I excitedly open the RT app to see if this is the week that the crossword actually allows me to type in the answers. Sadly this, along with many other weeks, it was not to be. Get it fixed people, us sofa folk enjoy matching wits with the RT compiler. DON’T UPGRADE! Latest upgrade deleted all my bookmarks!!!I’m so angry. First, the page with list of days (Saturday, Sunday etc) is GONE!! So it takes me longer to get to the day I want. Second, all the bookmarks I had in the current weeks’s issue are GONE so I have to go through every bl....y page again to see what to watch. Third, you removed the yellow button to let me mark a specific show. Now only the whole page bookmark exists. Fourth, I can’t even restore my saved issue, with my individual episodes bookmarks, from my iCloud. So I’ve LOST EVERYTHING!!! Finally, I can’t even email your app support team directly because it’s not working. So I have no choice but to leave this horrible feedback. What a mess. Great app but keeps crashingGreat app - love reading the Radio Times and keeping up with what's coming up BUT the August 26 edition keeps crashing. When I open Newsstand I see the RT cover (which still shows last weeks a Doctor Who cover) but when I touch the icon to open the app it tries to loan and the crashes. Persistent Need to LoginAs a long term RT subscriber, it’s very frustrating when using the app to have to continually re-enter my subscription reference to download the new weekly edition. Was good, now hopelessI've been using it for a couple of years and it worked fine. Then an email told me to update the app. I followed the instructions and now I can't login to the app because it doesn't recognize my password even though it's the one I've always used and it still lets me into my account on the buysubscriptions website. There's no phone contact to the technical help department only an email link which they don't respond to. I'm about to ask for a refund..Version: 7.0.0

FrustratingI subscribed through iTunes. The app doesn't recognise my subscription two weeks together and I have to go through a complicated process to download the next issue. For the last few weeks, the pages do not match the screen, i.e. about a quarter of the left hand page is missing, and a piece of the following page is on the right hand page size. Still a bit glitchy...I have a subscription, and the app is good most of the time, but I often find that my subscription is not recognised and I have to restore purchases. Would prefer not to have to do this..Version: 3.3.47

Rectified at lastHaving worked reasonably well for some weeks this app suddenly wanted me to sign in and then whatever I input it took me back in a loop to “sign in “ again. Eventually solved this by deleting the app and then adding it again and giving my subscriber number for the actual magazine again and fingers crossed it is back to normal. I hope so because it is a good back up to the paper magazine when not at home..Version: 8.2

Can’t sign inAs a print subscriber I was offered this app. Followed the instructions to install it, but whenever I tap the sign in button I get an error message. Creating a new account gets me into the app, but with the sign in page still there behind the content. And if I close the page and try to sign in I’m back to square one. Update: as suggested, I submitted the problem on their form. Got a response saying many of their staff are still working from home so, in effect, don’t expect help any time soon. 5 days later still waiting. If WFH means they can’t do the job, maybe time they got back in the office? Further update: was contacted and told to delete and reinstall the app. Then log in with my subscriber number. Replied that I’d tried that (twice) and still got an error. No response since. Glad I didn’t pay for this..Version: 7.0.0

Update required - to previous version!As others have said, it’s terrible. About the only thing that l disliked about the old version was the scrolling and no other way to return from a later page to near the start but that was easy to overcome. I used the yellow dot to mark the days links page and then it was easy. It has now been ‘improved’ by making the scrolling vertical - and even worse, removing the yellow dot system. Given a return to better navigation, then I think the other changes may well be an overall improvement but as it is, please see my heading! I have now had email from Apple, telling me that the navigation has been fixed. I’m afraid it has NOT. While it does have potential, it is not really fit for purpose yet!.Version: 7.0.0

Good when it worksAs a current subscriber, I understood that I could get the digital version completely free via the app. Has worked great since November but the hard copy of the Radio Times hadn’t arrived yesterday, so decided to have a look at the app to see what was on next week and was confronted with a £3.49 price tag instead of the normal read/download button…apparently, after calling Radio Times, they’re aware of the issue…nice to be told!!! Thankfully the hard copy arrived today. The issue seems to have been resolved…for this week anyway…we’ll see what happens with the next few issues….Version: 8.2

Useless update 2022The most useful feature, being able to mark programmes, has been removed, and new features added which are useless to most users. Ability to print? Buy a hard copy! Bookmark a page? What for? It’s a listing magazine - we want to mark programmes, not pages! Why change font size, when you can zoom in anyway? Text to speech screen is in German, and impossible to navigate. No instructions how to use the app doesn’t help. Good example of why you shouldn’t change what ain’t broke..Version: 7.0.0

Disaster of an appI have never had so many problems with any app. If I can log in at all - I have lost track of how many times I have needed to reset my password by using the web - then I can’t access editions that are part of my subscription. It did work for a while but now I just can’t get in. When it did work it was ok but it needs better way of navigating through the magazine rather than by showing miniature versions of every page..Version: 8.2

FlawedI have been a subscriber to this for a number of years but enough is enough. I have seen the app degrade down to something which is now of no real value whilst over the same time seen the annual subscription nearly double in price. I’m trying to read the latest issue on my iPhone and I’m presented with a huge blue menu bar across the top of the page which effectively shrinks the readable content down to around 75% of the already small screen. There doesn’t seem to be any way of getting rid of it so I’m now considering going to the newsagent to buy a printed version instead. I will be cancelling my subscription now as there really is no point to it anymore..Version: 8.0.0

Very clunkyWhen it works its very good but it keeps freezing so have to close and then reopen app to look at different editions. The editions look good on an ipad and its nice the way they scroll compared to the pdf. The subscription email includes a link to a page on how to set up the app but the app is different to the instructions provided. Not desperately helpful. But its nice have an eversion, particularly during the issues with deliveries at the mo..Version: 8.0.0
