✓ Meh...My five year old loves anything having to do with space. I bought the app because I thought it would be a perfect compromise between adults Starbase to apps and ones designed for children. But after a few minutes with this app, my son wanted the adult version back. I'm not sure who they think this app was meant for. It's certainly been dumbed down, but not in a good way. Each planet/constellation/star etc. only has a few short snippets of information. There is not much context and seems a little simpleton. At other points, it seems to be marketing to my child for instance suggesting he go see an IMAX movie. I wish I had my three bucks back..Version: 1.0.0
✓ Star walk is betterMy 6 year old is very interested in space. I'm currently cleaning out our iPad and asked which apps to keep. When I asked about the star walk for kids, his response was "it's terrible. It's full of pictures of things/animals/the ground. It's not real like the other star walk." So take that for what it's worth. If you already have the original, like we did, and buy this because you think your kids will like it....think again. However if this is your kids first delve into space, they might love it..Version: 1.0.2

✓ Cute but limitedThe app keeps you on a linear path where you have to learn about each space object before it is unlocked in the observatory. I am a science teacher and hoped this would be a good addition to my first grade space curriculum, but it doesn’t allow for free exploration until the kid has spent a lot of time listening to the mandatory content. I downloaded a different app that was aimed at adult stargazers - its controls aren’t as kid-friendly but it lets the user actually explore..Version: 2.0.8

✓ Ad Supported - What Does That Mean For Customers Who Paid?Support seems non-existent. Following the support link takes me to a cheerleading page for the developer’s Apps. I would like to know how changing to ad-supported impacts customers like me, who paid. I purchased the bundle, “Science Apps for Kids” and want to know if I can continue using the Apps in the bundle without advertising. I paid for the App bundle for two reasons. One, to support a developer whose Apps I appreciated and two, to ensure I did not see ads. I suspect ad revenue is higher and perhaps a more regular pay cheque for a developer. Regardless, I would encourage you to consider loyal customers who have supported you and perhaps offer different options..Version: 2.0.8
✓ Lots of promiseThis is an excellent idea, but marred by poor implementation. With no way to zoom in or out on the sky, functionality is impaired. Furthermore, there are no settings for the number of stars displayed or how constellations are shown, so the actual night sky cannot be simulated for little eyes. This turns out to be an app for young eyes to look down at, not up from (unless they happen to live below 6.0 mag skies)..Version: 1.0.0
