✓ Couldn’t Get My Daughter’s Data BackMy daughter played this game for years and never missed a login day. She spent 40+ dollars in-game as well. But the iPad she had the game on crashed and we went through the grueling process of trying to get her data back. We had her account number, we had a purchase receipt, we had all the information they asked for. But I guess she got a couple things wrong, like the last mission that she did or her crew level, things she never thought she’d have to memorize. They told her they couldn’t give her data back because the information she gave didn’t match, yet they wouldn’t tell us anything else. I explained to them that she’s young and autistic, along with other medical problems, and also that she didn’t have any type of social media to back her data up because she’s too young to do so. This game was very calming for her, yet the people in charge didn’t help us out at all. I never thought they’d treat a mobile game’s data like it was someone’s social security number or bank account information. Their security is far too tight for a game some kids/teenagers probably play. She hasn’t been the same since losing her game, but I’m quickly trying to find her a replacement..Version: 11.1.1

✓ OutdatedI love one piece, and I am really trying hard to play the game, and that's the problem, the game should be easy to use and something I don't have to work hard to play, I am not talking about ratings or anything like that, it's more about how the game is outdated in the UI and the way it works, the organization of the characters is weird, the lack of a proper account linking and using a different device easily is weird to be honest, I get you want to keep it so players don't do weird stuff, but allowing an easy way to use my account in multiple devices would be great. Again, some of those things that are more aligned to the way the app is used rather than the rates or the actual combat is what makes this game so hard to play for me, I wish you could give it a new look to the main Ui that is more intuitive for new users, and maybe easier for other old players..Version: 13.2.0
✓ Poor ratesIt’s impressive, really. How can the rates be so awful? Like, absurdly awful. If I’m lucky, I’ll get 1 of the banner characters after 15 multis. I am not exaggerating when I say that. This game is definitely deceptive in its pull rates for characters. It boggles my mind that the BANNER character does not have a boosted rate. Honestly, I’ve lost a lot of interest in the game because of how disappointing pulling for characters is. Every single time I pull, I just end up feeling defeated and regretful. Sure, the game has some good content, but a lot of it has become too repetitive for me, and way too difficult. As others have said, if you don’t pull on the event banners, and somehow actually get one of the banner characters, you’re really in for a rough time to try and compete or even succeed at acquiring the event rewards. I give this game 1 star, and I’m truly surprised that this game has such a high rating… I’ve been playing for 3 years, and at first I enjoyed this game, I still do at times, but something really needs to be done about their huge character amount in their gacha pool that really needs to be trimmed down. ✓ InjusticeI write this review not in thought of the game itself, but the individuals behind the server. By now, the OPTC community knows of a glitch that took the community by storm. Although not everyone received the erroneous mails, those that did are being wronged. It’s only right that Bandai take back what was given in error, purchased through error and/or used through error; not robbed of everything. As compensation for their error, we’re only rewarded 51 gems, few tablets, tomes and books, and a belated 10M berries that we had to earn in game. One can induct from said event that the community does not matter. It is apparent that the community is just a walking pile of cash ready for grab. If this doesn’t seem like taking candy from a baby, then I don’t know what it is. I truly enjoy the game but since the issue was poorly handled, I’m losing interest. It would take a lot to make up for this situation, but first and foremost is for Bandai to win the trust of the OPTC community..Version: 9.3.1

You spit in our faces not once with poor compensation for destroying the game, and continuing to leave people hanging about the situation to play, and then do it again with 10M berry? You guys are a disgrace. For people who don't know, Bandai put in a bug that allowed millions of people to get infinite gems . They're going after the community on their self-righteous high horse blaming the players for their mistake and destroyed many in game events that revolve around pulling certain characters to do well. People spend lots of money in these and they did wrong by their most loyal players. They have the negligence and audacity not to keep us in the loop while Nick (the community manager) tweets about his waifus on twitter. They poorly compensated us for the gamebreaking glitch, and then subsequently added an additional compensation which is effectively worthless. Do not play because you're saving yourself a lot of hassle, even if you love One Piece. These guys running this game made it a miserable experience. Shame on you..Version: 9.3.1
✓ We are not second class customersI have been playing this game for almost 3 years and I love it. But the low rating comes in due the fact that this game’s version, a.k.a. Global version, has been treated with less transparency then its Japanese counterpart. This lack of transparency is in much part due to the lack of laws in the US and other counties where global version is played. Namely, that the randomness of the characters acquired trough pulls with Gems that are obtained trough playing and by buying them is much less than the randomness used in the global version. It is important to know that in the Japanese version that rates for the probabilities of obtaining a character is clearly displayed in the Japanese version, but this is not the case for the global version. This, and the large data collected recently supporting the belief that the rates are tampered with has made thousand of players like me raise our voices in protest for the way Bandai/Namco os handling it’s business. I am a F2P customer, and I would never, I repeat, never spend a penny on this game. But there are other players that spend thousands of dollars, and they are being taken advantage of! Once this company comes clean and transparent about the rates, I would be more then happy to rate the game 5 starts because it truly is a beautiful game to play more so if you are a fan of One Piece like me..Version: 7.1.0
✓ Enjoy the Manga & Anime, this only frustratingI want to rate this higher but I can’t based on performance alone. The constant downloading, even though I have chosen the mass:bulk download option, is annoying but I can deal with it. The being cheated out of characters when performing a pull after finally earning rainbow gems through gameplay is insulting. A few times I have contemplated spending money on this game because I LOVE One Piece, but after each pull I retract that thought. I know if I were to spend money I would only be disappointed & feel like i’ve been ripped off. In addition to that, progress in the game can go incredibly slow based on the steep difficulty curve. Now it may just be me, but with upgrading my characters as much as I can in every way possible, the story seems to really slow down in pace do to overpowered opponents & slow battle pace. I originally played this game around the time it came up but when I upgraded my mobile device & tried to log back into my account but everything was gone. ✓ After the recent incident...Bandai were good with OPTC until a recent screw up on their part. Didn’t stop ranking events, did a 10hr maintenance and then an extra 7 days to fix the problem. They blamed the players for their screw up. Bandai aren’t allowing refunds even if Bandai’s screw up was the reason for the additional purchases to reach certain milestones. When there is a problem, get on top of it and fix and suspend ingame events that will be affected by it so players aren’t screwed around. Compensation? 10mil berries (which is easily obtainable ingame from an easy stage on extra island). Very insulting. When a company blames the player base but doesn’t stop ingame ranking events that are affected by their screw up - there is a problem with the company itself. However, since I started spending real money, the rate started getting worse and worse on me. As machine learning scientist, I personally believed that the company has used my personally data to be against me. The so-called customized revenue management. Similar algorithm has been used by casinos to take the most from their registered member. I have seen a lot of discussion in the community forum. Until I see positive comments there, I will stop spending and will suggest you stop spending any money. All I want is a fair reward. As long as you offer a fixed rate, I am ok with it. ✓ Bandai slowly turning the game P2PBandai has slowly been moving the game in a P2P direction, which has become more noticeable over the past year. There is a massive lack of content, and when something finally comes out, most of the said content is built around relying on the new banner units. Not only this, Bandai has communicated months ago that they would be making new content, and we are still yet to see anything. Since their communication, the most we’ve had is recycled content e.g Kizuna, Treasure Map and small arena events. (All of which are heavily reliant on using new characters) I will continue to play, mainly as I’ve put too much time in, but until Bandai listens to it’s community the game is a hollow shell of what it used to be. ✓ Used to be a great gameI’ve played the game consistently since the first month of release (1500+ days ago). It was truly fun and exciting for a very very long time as the game mirrored the stories of OP. The character and team building system made it interesting and challenging at the same time. I was able to obtain many good legends without spending much money. For the past few months, Bandai has decided to shift the game toward primarily “pay to play” only customers. The pull rates have dropped and awards have decreased. Even with payment the game itself has becoming one of a grind-fest, essentially repeating the same quest 15-30 times for slightly better rewards. There is barely any consistent update bc the game has caught up with the anime so they couldn’t release newer content. Every gacha mobile game hit a wall at some point when the producer becomes too greedy (or simply need to divert resources away from R&D). Unfortunately, the time has come for OPTC. ✓ Bandai punishing its player base.This game is a gambling game. If you have a gambling addiction please for your sake do not play this game especially if your a One Piece fan. Currently we are having the 5th anniversary of the game which is the most hyped and generally the best event of the year. This year it is hot garbage. Recently there was a glitch that sent out unlimited items and the gem currency to veteran players. It was a mess for Bandai and they likely spent a lot of time fixing it. So in return they spent no effort in 5th anniversary and even raised the cost to pull new characters. It is very disappointing. To new players I would say stay away. Veterans should think twice about continuing to play as this game is very time consuming and Bandai repeatedly treats its player base like garbage. ✓ Fun game that needs improvementI’ve been playing this game for going on 3 years and while I love One Piece and the game overall there are some things that need some massive improvements. The 1st being pull rates. The pull rates for the newest Sugo characters are trash. Rate boosted should actually mean something. We shouldn’t have a higher chance to pull an old, no longer useful, non-featured or rate boosted unit then one that is featured/rate-boosted. It really disincentives users from pulling. The 2nd thing that needs improvement are the gem costs. There is no reason that it should cost so much for so little return. Add that to the fact that “gem sales” aren’t actual sales (no price reduction) makes it unappealing to actually spend money on the game. Finally, the way they have handled a recent glitch within the game shows that they don’t actually care about the players because they are too worried about taking care about their bottom line. Take a not from Cygames which after player displeasure with certain actions taken have become widely accepted by many as a great developer which cares about its user base. In summary, fix the rates of pulling characters that are featured/rate-boosted, lower the price of gems/actually provide price cut gem sales, and actually prove that you care about your users otherwise this review is staying at 1 star..Version: 9.3.1
✓ Customer service is horrificI’ve played this game for multiple years and enjoyed it even though the grind can be a lot. I’ve built an account pouring a lot of time and money into it. I’ve backed it up with an old Facebook and didn’t realize I never backed it up again with my current (I know, big oof on my behalf). Even finding the form to send a request for restoration is a nightmare. I have tons of transaction recipes and answered multiple questions. Of course I don’t remember the last mission I played or even who was my third crew anyone who’s played this game a long time knows that they have a different grind mission every day and crews change frequently. I reached out on three different occasions providing proof of purchase and player ID. Sending screenshots of me using my crew. After three attempts of them saying they have inadequate information I think I’ve finally given up. For a game that literally just pours in money you’d think they could use those funds to have a decent team to make sure their customers are taken care of. It was a pretty fun time playing the game, but if something happens to your account just know that’s probably gone forever..Version: 10.2.2
✓ DisappointedI played this game when it first started and love it! I just started playing fresh again to see how its going now and I got to say that I am not interested anymore. Dont get me wrong, the game play is still good and the only thing I hate is how everybody gets all these free top characters straight off the bat. It was a lot more enjoyable when you had to work hard for to level up your characters and HOPE that you got a good character once youve grinded your berries. It was fun using the starter characters you get while progressing through the missions, having to level them up, struggling to complete a mission because your characters wernt strong enough. ✓ BANDAI can’t retrieve account.I’ve recently accidentally deleted the global version of the app. I wasn’t able to play the game after version 7.2.0. I submitted the emailed form in hopes to retrieve my account back, but BANDAI was of no help. I’ve been playing this game for nearly 3 years, started back in Feb. 2015. I’ve also bought gems. You would think if you gave the unique information of the purchases to them, they would be able to track down your account, but no. Bandai is saying it is not unique enough for them to retrieve your account. The only way they are able to retrieve your account is giving them the user ID, a 9 digit number. Who would remember this user ID that is only shown on the loading screen? Would you write this down if you would of known it is the key to retrieve your account? All other gaming apps I’m playing, if i delete them and download it back from the cloud it would continue were I left off. Not this game! ✓ The Issues with OPTCAs previous reviewers have stated, a large issue with the global version is the idea of rare recruits. I have done many multi-pulls only to receive nothing for it. In the Japanese version of the game, you are basically guaranteed a six star in every pull, and they even send you a free six star in the mail, along with the evolver set. In the global version the only “guaranteed” way to get a six star is to buy the gem bundle. Another issue I’ve seen, with my friends and I, is the download bonus. The best place to start is how slow it is. In the past the download bonus took no time at all, but now it takes so long, even when I’m on wi-fi. Not to mention, most of the times we don’t get, or even see a chest for the gem. I personally believe that we could do with out the download bonus, or at least it could be fixed in some way. The only other issue I have with the download bonus is that it happens to me twice a day. If we got equal treatment as the Japanese version, and the download bonus was better, then maybe I would give the game a higher rating, but until then I can only give the game two stars..Version: 7.2.1
✓ DisappointedHello, I played this game roughly around when it first came out. I stopped playing because I felt the game was to hard to play through with my free to play crew. I had some good characters but it was truly unplayable for me. Now I download and they give you shanks and Beckman after the tutorial. They didn’t do that before. My crew was luffy gaimon and some grunts for the beginning levels. I used to have to grind for turtles for exp, now I have to more lobster feasts(exp) and than I know what to do with. I am gifted several gems and have pulled several sugo rares. Now I beat any level because I have a maxed out crew of sugo rares + one five star. I tested it on a level I had to use a extra gem to refill my health bar(clash lagoon) with my team back in the day. Now I beat that boss with a single attack that I missed. What’s the point in playing if ima beat every level like it’s nothing. I downloaded this game with the hope of having some challenges and feeling of success when I got pass a tough boss, or when I got lucky enough to get a sugo rare. The game no longer has those aspects. It is night and day from what it used to be. I may still keep it to collect gems and pull characters cuz I am a fan of the series..Version: 11.2.4
✓ Bandai Namco!I love this game I've been playing it since it was released. Up until the Alabasta island the game is extremely enjoyable and the simple controls help this but I have one question to ask. Why the hell does all the enemies gain health pools and damage rival to the end level island boss and they all gain a special that depending on how your team is set up will destroy your health or make it to where you can't even attack for several turns letting your team to get demolished by low level tier enemies. With which you can only continue using a rainbow gem which you only get 5 when completing a island and a additional 3 throughout the course of the island too bad unless your a nigh master strategist you'll run out of these extremely fast. Now I realize money is king in corporations and businesses but you really need to stop making levels impossible to the point where you try to strong arm the payers into buying gems. So please make the game playable again and update the the game website more frequently so we at least have some idea on what we're about to head into..Version: 8.0.0

My only problem is that within 10 minutes of starting I can already one shot every enemy I’m fighting at this stage. I understand it’s like “hey, start now and we’ll give you 100 free blah!” to try and get people to start playing, but I start with 100 MILLION berries, and so SO many overpowered items. There is a 15% chance to get a sugo rare card (the rarest) and for some reason out of those 300 gems I got nothing but trash. Months of time wasted on a trash game that has a horrible pay to win vibe with awful gatcha based rolling. How is it that I had a statistically 400% chance to get a sugo rare on my last summon and I got nothing but ultra rares? Because this game will continue to give you trash characters until you spend $800+. For those of you who are F2P, DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME IT WILL ENRAGE YOU. For those of you who are P2W whales or sharks, go ahead this game is fun if you have good stuff. ✓ DownhillThis game has gotten to be so bad. The rare recruit aspect is completely pathetic. The fact that you can recruit basically worthless characters that were created at the very beginning of this game in new sugo rare recruits is an atrocity. It is already time consuming to get gems and when you finally decide to spend them during special sugo fest events you get beginning chopper? Or Brook? Why is it even possible to get worthless characters like that in the latest rare recruits? It’s pathetic no matter what way you look at it. Then pirate rumble is just completely random. The strength of your team means nothing as it basically is a race to whichever team gets to use their specials first. Sometimes it’s you, sometimes it’s them. There’s no strategy or consistency to pirate rumble which is dumb also. Overall this game is just a bunch of repetitive randomness. ✓ Lost everything I hadI used to play this game the 1st year it came out and had a large roster of strong characters and level up boosters and to make sure I didn’t lose my progress I made a Twitter account specifically to save my game progress.
