✓ Inaccurate and DangerousDangerous! I have used FishTrack for the past 3 years & just thought the forecast was wrong so often because it’s Mother Nature & unpredictable. I started noticing last year that me and a charter captain I know we’re getting totally different forecasts for the same area. We noticed it again a few weeks ago & I started trying to contact FishTrack. I got a couple very dismissive replies, and nothing since I sent screen shots of two totally different forecasts for the same exact area from mine and my friends iPhone apps. Not only is this very disappointing but it’s actually very dangerous since we fish offshore & rely on forecasts to make sure it’s at least safe. I Love Fishing & would look at the FishTrack forecasts every day about 5 times a day thinking I was looking at good data. ✓ Not for meHeaded offshore on a two day marlin trip the other day. I saved 2 images on my ipad. When i got offshore with no cell service, the app doesn’t load the saved images or even open fully. The thing just did nothing. When i got in cell service it finally worked. Rather worthless to me. Im glad I only subscribed for one month, which is to much. ✓ It’s okFor the price of the app you would think it would be a lot better at off shore temperatures but we have found it to be quite off like 2+ c over or under and when chasing the big one it needs to be a lot better for the price. ✓ NonexistentI can only speak about the NE maps available. I find that most of the time there is no imagery to view. I understand about cloud cover. But Rutgers has imagery and it’s free. Plus the fact I am on the water 3-7 days a week in area I want to view. It will be a crystal clear day and still very poor imagery produced by FishTrack. I have installed my app may times like customer service tells me to do. Still no change. Customer service has no phone number to reach anyone. Just email. Don’t waste your money on this. Tried their support function; got a 404 error. Was seeking some evidence that I have a contractual obligation. However they seem to have found a way to hold off Capital One my credit card issuer FT said check the IPhone for subscriptions Don’t see any at all. Zero. Nada Surfline is an associated company and has also billed me for a surfing service. I do not surf, have never surfed and have never subscribed to their service. ✓ Free Trial AppApp didn't work after the install and it turns out that it is a free trial version that expires after 7 days. They claim it will then continue working as a reduced function version but as it didn't work after the install it's hard to say. I can't recommend the app if it doesn't work...I think that they should inform users before it is downloaded that it is a trial version etc. personally I detest sneaky marketing like this. If a company can't be honest and upfront then I won't deal with it. Fixing the app install is a high priority if they want people to ultimately buy it but no price is indicated either..... ✓ Please don’t subscribe.The application was working fine when I subscribed for one month sometime back. Later I subscribed for one year premium service and after two days some of the features (latest sst and chlorophyll) has ceased to show when the cursor is moved to points on the map. When the issues were sent via email, support team responds like once every week and ask almost the same question every time “can you please point out specific issue to us”. I have sent detailed explanation of what is going on and stll they don’t seem to care. I even requested to let me know if I would continue to get the premium service till the day of expiration of the current subscription even if I unsubscribe now. Still no answer to that too. ✓ Very disappointedBeen using the free version and the functionality seemed great to get temperature data in the locations i target. As the free data is not current it was not useful and i subscribed to the premium service. I expected to see current temps but the data was still 24hour old. I assume this is as current as it is being released by NASA as it matches the data age on other sites. What made the app useful was the handy feature where one can see temps by location when moving the cursor on the chart. However this seems to be broken since i subscribed and thus rendering the app totally useless for me. Attempted to get a refund but no luck only promises that it will be fixed in an update which never happened. If you are lucky to get updated charts on the same day, there’s a good chance the image will contain missing or false data. This app is a joke.
