Carbo › Digital Notebook for Positive User Reviews

Great start!Going to be a very useful tool. Would be even better if you could scan a whole page of doodles and then separate them into individual drawings via the lasso tool. Also like more cloud options. OneDrive in particular. So slick and easy though, I'd recommend it..Version: 1.0

Great but...There's no paper line detection. All I have my notes on is lined paper and when it's turned into a PDF there are a bunch of black lines where light blue should go, I just wish they would disappear. Oh and also, why is it that when you take your picture and you edit it, it doesn't just stay like that? What's up with that?.Version: 1.2.1

Great.Does what it says an it does it exceptionally well.there is a lot of scanning apps out there but i wasn't able to find one which is packing all this features.to do stuff i needed i used to use 2-3 apps.now i can delete them all..Version: 1.0

Great slateI used to fill note books and be frustrated when eventually misplacing them. This app has replaced all of that and syncs from phone to iPad..Version: 1.4

Well done and works well. The developers have managed to take a very complicated process and make it simple. This is a great utility for capturing images and then moving them around within the same document. It's perfect if you take notes freehand or draw diagrams and then have need to put all of those little things together into one page or a single document. I don't know of another app that can do this as easily or as quickly..Version: 1.0

Looking forward to copy paste featureWhen i selected an object, I hope I can copy and paste..Version: 1.4.2

Good, but not what I was looking forIt's a fine scanner; but what I need is one that recognizes handwriting. Will continue my search....Version: 1.4.3

Amazing! But listen.Hi Developers, much appreciation for such a great app. I like it so far. And I have a suggestion. Because the drawings are turned into vectors, maybe you can add a function that allow users to select several vectors and then change their color or thickness. This can be used to highlight some part of the notes. I wonder if that would be difficult to do, but it would come very hand in day to day use..Version: 1.2.1

Good So Far; Needs SyncThis should do a very nice job of getting rid of miscellaneous notes. I'll go to five stars when it syncs. Until then, items will stay local and I will only use on my iPhone. As it is, one chooses where to store in terms of local, Dropbox or iCloud --- and wherever chosen is the only place the photo is. As far as I could, there is not even a copy feature so that one could manually store both local and cloud..Version: 1.0

Only wish I could save to PhotosThis app is really useful and really cool. I’m excited about this. My only problem is how I can’t save my notes as pictures to make them easy to share. “Create archive” is confusing and sending them in an email didn’t work and icloud and all that, I just don’t even know what I’m doing. Having the ability to use these notes as /pictures/ would be incredibly intuitive and would make the app much more usable..Version: 1.2.1

Very good app but exporting will be a problemThis app can prove very helpful. I have some old books that are not available in digital format. I can import some pages using Carbo and then read them and also underline and make marginal notes. This means that I can take the books with me and also that my underlining and notes does not have to damage the original book. I think that I am going to like this app; however, I have found one problem. There is an option for exporting pages (it is called "archiving"), but not of the options work. The archiving is basically just an "open in" setup, but since the file type is *.carbo, the files won't be read by any of my apps. So, the app *can* export, but none of the apps on my device will accept them..Version: 1.4

I hate giving 5 stars to new appsI don't normally buy apps before they've attracted a number of glowing reviews, but I took a £3 leap of faith with this one simply because I've been waiting for something like it. I'm so freaking impressed. It's perfect. It's fast, works even in my dimly-lit bedroom and does an excellent job of filtering out artefacts. I can even write on lined paper and get rid of the lines. Best of all, it syncs with Evernote. I can finally put away my drawing tablet (which Evernote for Mac doesn't support anyway)! iCloud and Dropbox sync means you can do what you like with the images if you're not an Evernote user too. Easy 5 stars..Version: 1.0

I am using it all the time with Evernote ;)I am using it all the time with Evernote ;).Version: 1.4

BrilliantLove this app, it's great..Version: 1.2.3

Simple and effectiveI've always wanted to be able to organise my notebooks... Have tried to use iPad apps for note taking, but still go back to a real pen or pencil... This app is great for organising notebooks! Until iPad gets a good quality fountain pen or a black wing pencil, this is the app I'll be using!!.Version: 1.0

Great for what I needCarbo has long been my go to for scanning written notes. It’s clear and allows me manipulate the scan exactly as I want. Its export options work well. I haven’t used the pencil option much, but it has come in handy. As someone who prefers to write on paper then scan for long term reference it’s perfect for me and well worth the investment..Version: 1.8

Perfectly bridges the gap between paper and digital notetakingI use Carbo to ‘digitise’ the notes I take on a reusable (wipeable) notepad and it works amazingly well. This setup means I can capture and continue to edit and manipulate my notes and sketches long after I’ve erased / thrown the paper originals. It’s an essential component in my toolkit (I’m a UX consultant). The selection tool in particular is magically effective. Bravo. 5/5..Version: 1.1

You will not find a better appThis app is very smart. You will not be disappointed and you will agree..Version: 1.4

Needs ability to handle multi page docsAmazingly useful app. I can scan in my handwritten notes and send them to Onenote where I keep my digital notes. However, to be a perfect solution it really needs the ability to scan multi page documents..Version: 1.7

Illustration Untethered.Carbo keeps crashing on iPad, for about a week now Carbon is a great little app; perfect for illustration with an iPad on the go..Version: 1.7

Evernote syncI currently meet a problem that I can no longer sync my files to evernote. The error message says that "Evernote notebook could not be started (no information available for this error)" I tried to turn Evernote function off and then reauthorized Carbo, but this didn't work. I have experienced this problem for a period of time and the recent update didn't solve it. I really appreciate your team for bringing such excellent app and I hope it could being better and better. Four star for the sync problem and I'm looking forward having this function back..Version: 1.2.2

Absolutely amazing...Simple yet powerful, a joy to use..Version: 1.0

Great app for scanningI like this app. It works great to get clear scans and it does this be vectorizing your photo. The ability to manipulate the result being removing and moving parts is a plus too! I would like to see the ability to have multiple pages in one PDF. Also, it can be hard moving around in the app. Not completely intuitive. Overall a good app though and I use it a lot..Version: 1.0.2

A great app, but has some improvement spaceI got the app when it was on sale. Now, it turned to an app that must be installed on every device I own. In-app editing makes this app stand out from other apps, and the vector based images are almost perfect. However, there are some shortcomings, like filtering multiple tags or reediting scanned documents that sometimes can a bit annoying. I'm really anticipating for the new versions of the app!.Version: 1.0.1

GreatI enjoy using this app for a variety of math applications. I can take pictures of different geometric figures and manipulate them the way I would like, and with the vast array of options such as changing the pen, paper etc. I can really make those things come to life for my students..Version: 1.5.1

3.5 Stars - Great for People that draw diagram and imagesI'm one of those people that literally hate taking notes on ruled paper. I draw diagrams, wife frames and other concepts in my notes. So this app works perfectly for me. Personally I store my "notebooks" in DropBox and I like the fact that it stores the files there and not on my device. This way it frees up my device from having pages and pages of notes on it. The tagging platform is a bit quirky for my taste. All the tags use lower case characters even if you try and enter all letters in CAPS. So, creating a tag such as "Super Cool Business" become "super cool business". It's annoying to me. So I knocked off a star for that. I also technically knocked off a star for no PDF vector export. It's obvious that there is no pixelation in the app, but the PDFs are exported using rasterized (non vector) images. I understand why people aren't happy about ruled paper detection, but I believe this app is aimed more at people that use un-9ruled paper (like myself)..Version: 1.0

AmazingSuch a useful app - its helped me to collaborate a whole load of notes that were in different places! It is so much cheaper than having to buy a whole bamboo spark, or some other tech - and the fact you just write with a normal pen and paper is great :) I also use it for when I have to take a picture of printed text, to make it clearer. The tech support team were also super friendly and helpful when I had some stupid questions for them, and replied very quickly and helpfully :).Version: 1.2.1

Quick and easy to capture notesGreat app. This is way more nimble for capturing monochrome notes compared to what I have been using. (Eg Scanner Pro by Readdle, which is a great app btw) This is really easy to use and has great cloud support. Thanks Feature requests • Invert image • Copy/cut/paste selections into existing or new Notes :) pls pls • Export svg file.Version: 1.0

Great App, needs iCloud Drive supportI use this app to capture my whiteboard drawings all the time. It's got a great balance of capture and editing features. I can write on my whiteboard, and then tweak the images later on. Apple Pencil support is great for this app. It also supports all of the latest iOS features ... Except for iCloud Drive. I can't take my drawings and store them in iCloud Drive or other storage providers. I hope they add this in..Version: 1.2.3

Pleasantly SurprisedI was worried when I saw that this app went to a subscription plan, especially after losing functionality in other paid apps after they’ve done the same. Im happy to see that I haven’t lost any of the functionality of the app and it still works great. Thanks!.Version: 2.2.1

The best at what it doesThis app is laser focused on scanning and editing black and white images and documents. I’ve relied on it for years for capturing whiteboard notes and receipts quickly. Love the editing functions which easily allow clean-up and rearranging of image elements. I was upset that the v3 update looked like it wanted me to pay again for feature I already had bought but the developer rapidly fixed that bug..Version: 2.2.1

Great for diagram captureI use this app frequently for capturing diagrams drawn on paper or whiteboards. The cleanup tools are "just enough" to help me get the diagram clean any usable. The tagging is quick and gets out of the way when I am in a rush. I gave the app only four stars because there are no colour options. I don't need full colour but being able to capture whiteboard marker colours would be very helpful..Version: 1.1
