✓ Great app with most beneficial featureI felt amazing with the feature as soon as I realized about this app in the app store. Immediately installed and checked the functionality to mu surprise it was great and astonishing. However one drawback I have seen is the inability to recognize my handwritten text. Is this happening with my handwriting or with everyone’s? One star out for this incompetency..Version: 2.0.4
✓ Life enabling tool for people with visual dyslexiaThank you. Thank you. Thank you. This is the app I’ve been dreaming of for a long time, long time. I’ve been searching for something like this years. It solves a both personally difficult and painful problem, for both me and my son. I have a slight visual dyslexia, but my son has rare debilitating visual dyslexia, where his optics and nerves cause words bend and letters space irregular or swap. (To my son this is normal) Both he and I now can rapidly take a pic of our dyslexic written works and allow the App to read to us almost perfectly. ✓ Great alternative to KNFB ReaderI've found the OCR slightly less accurate than KNFB, but great for the price! The ocr also is a little slower than KNFB, but it may be that my phone can't handle the amount of memory needed for the text overlay. I would love to see a feature that flattens the image when taken on an angle. It would also be great to have contrast and color filters. It would be cool if it could work with external document cameras and distance viewing cameras. I need to play around with the features a little more and see if I have any further feature suggestions. ✓ AmazedI am honestly surprised by some reviews. It's NOT a bait and switch to allow someone to use and try out features before deciding to purchase the upgrade. They could have just made the app 5 bucks and you'd have to buy it before you could use anything. So that's silly. Second, the cloud OCR uses another external service and it does cost the developer money for it to be used, that's why you pay for these packs- it just adds some more refined OCR if needed, but the built in OCR is fantastic. I have been waiting for an app that is exclusively for OCR and storing/sharing/saving that information. I am incredibly impressed by this app. Still living it a year later!.Version: 2.0.3
✓ Excellent App!I am using this app with my dyslexic students. It is quick and easy to use. It scans a magazine article or page in a book very quickly, and then a clear voice reads the text back. You can see the text and as reader is reading, each word is highlighted in yellow. Would highly recommend! I tried dozens of inefficient text to speech apps that cannot compete!.Version: 1.0.3

✓ The best OCR app by far—flawless resultsIgnore the bad reviews, which are written by people who don’t seem to have managed to use the app properly: the Text Export pack (which is all I needed to use this regularly) is well worth the tiny amount, and developers can’t work for free. As a writer and researcher I need to extract text from printed material, and after many years of typing or scanning, I tried other OCR apps (English OCR was the last), then dictating, but these always needed extensive editing and re-reading. Pizmo Go is flawless, compared to any other method, and any other OCR app. It’s interface and OCR recognition function so well, I can read in bed, find a passage I want to extract or quote, pick up my phone and within a minute I have the exact text to paste wherever I want, no editing needed. If you are the makers of this brilliant and incredibly useful app, and you’re reading this, don’t change a thing (and please *never, ever* sell it off to another company)! Pizmo Go is perfect, and my life as an avid reader and note-taker has been made so much easier, thanks to this small but perfectly-formed app. It does one thing, and does it perfectly..Version: 2.2
✓ Outstanding OCRPrizmo Go is unbelievably good, way better than everything else I’ve tried, so long as the text is in clear blocks. I use it with Genius Scan +, export to Photos, and OCR the last picture taken. ✓ Can’t live without this!Amazong application. One that acts seamlessly and as you expect, with great result. The export pack costs a pittance and should be considered essential. This works beautifully with automation and scripting - scan printed text directly into Drafts! - and is utterly essential if you are taking quotes from the printed page. It works incredibly well for this, which is how I mostly use it, I barely launch the application directly any more. Developers are a great bunch too, attentive and quick to implement good suggestions and take on feedback. I cannot recommend this enough. I’ve shown people what this does, and they usually instantly buy it, or start trying to work out how to get an iPhone..Version: 3.0.1

✓ Excellent for the price & great customer serviceUpdate Dec 2019: I continue to be impressed with this app. I was scanning in a book chapter just now and realized it was taking care of all the hyphens at the end of a line — it really is a smart OCR app. In addition to English and German, I’ve now used it in Italian as well and it works great as long as lightning conditions are excellent. The only complaint I have is the lack of support for multi-page input (ie multipage pdf or multiple image files). Developer response to this complaint is to direct users to their desktop product which ignores that modern mobile devices can easy handle such processing. But I get it, they need business. Original review: I have used this app to scan English, German, and Arabic text with good results. However, to get these good results I had to use the cloud OCR service. Still the cost for that was reasonable. I have scanned entire books (small books), but I admit it can get a little tedious. You have to get set up with good lighting, and use (what seemed to me) a hidden feature: After taking the photo and giving it a chance to scan, you have to long-press the "share" button in order to bring up a menu saying "Share whole text" which does a better job to retain formatting. I learned this because I wrote the authors twice and each time received timely and helpful feedback. Even with the above approach, there still was a lot of formatting needed to get the perfect result. But OCR has come a long way, and it's really nice to be able to do it using my phone..Version: 3.0

It is so much easier to get a program to recognize that text from my images than to re-type it. To this end, I’ve tried a lot of OCR text recognition apps. Comparatively, this app has more features, is faster, and performs more accurately than any of the other OCR programs I’ve tried, to date. Add in the user-friendly interface that this program offers, and it is bar-none a cut above the rest. The developers have made an essential tool to edit and sort photos with text recognition.
