✓ So close to perfect, but missing some thingsThis app is extremely powerful, I’ve never added my movie collection to an app quicker. Even with my 3 complaints, this is the app to use. However if you’re debating spending the money, keep these in mind: The general UI is not great. I primarily use this on my iPad, and everything is so small and not scaled particularly well. Selecting a grid view only shows the covers, which is good for the images but then the rest of the info is not displayed. There is a lot of empty real estate that could be utilized better. When you select a movie and it shows you the “Movie Details” screen, it’s in a very small font and simply not laid out particularly well with tons of wasted space and small fonts that can be difficult to read. Every streaming service has a “movie details” page that utilizes the space better. On the whole, all the filtering is very impressive and detailed. But I do wish there was a section for custom categories to be added to each movie. My library is digital on a local server, and would love to be able to add info like filetypes (.mkv or .mp4), audio types, (Dolby 5.1 or DTS-HD MA 7.1, Atmos), and resolution info (4K, HDR, 1080p). Even fun things like “total watch count”. These don’t necessarily need to be added to the app, but no option of custom fields besides “tags” is disappointing. I know this app still receives updates, so I do hope that it can be improved over time as at the moment there is nothing else like it available.Version: 9.2.4
✓ Excellent appThis does what it does superbly - manages your media collection. The scanning of DVD barcodes is very quick as is the manual online search. All in all, well worth the asking price. If I had a few requests, it would mainly be for larger thumbnails and the ability to rearrange them (think Plex or Kodi or Apple TV). I’d also like a bigger separation between movies and tv shows but the developer seems to be very active with updates, so you never know!.Version: 8.12.9

✓ WunderbarI have been waiting for an app like this for decades. Literally. An amazing database that actually works. Very stable. Allows you to import and export. Recognizes an incredible amount of films. It's easily customizable to fit your specific needs in the data you want to know and access. Nicely organized. Bravo. The one thing they could do to break it would be to move the databases online and charge a monthly fee. But that would make them into just another crappy scam app. So, please don't. It will ruin everything. I like my information kept local where I can control it. As tempting as it might be, it's a terrible way to do business. ✓ Very good first impressions so far, but OCD niggle...Love what I’ve used so far, but to the developers: can you please consider refiling how film titles with The at the beginning are listed? Traditionally, The Matrix, The Ring etc would be filed under M and R. On this they seem to be all thrown in under T, which is only a very small nitpick/personal choice OCD niggle! EDIT: Was very grateful at a response from the developer of how to alter this in settings. ✓ A great appThe only cons are the number of movies I had to add manually and the sync still needs work as it glitches a lot. I have the app on my iPad and iPhone so syncing is very important. They are aware this is an issue and give several work-arounds, but it would be better if it was fixed. I bought the pro version after testing out the frees one and despite those two flaws, I would still highly-recommend this. I bought their Book Buddy after using this app for so long..Version: 9.5.8

✓ Latest update 8.9.8 works wellWould give 5 stars, but the export has bugs that will not alphabetically sort anything within categories upon export. While it looks good on ipad, exporting needs repair asap. On the good side, app works well, syncs with dropbox or icloud your choice. Gets movie info from net quickly and accurately. Super good app if you do not need to export any data in any kind of order. Good luck finding movie name in over 1000 movies from a cvs file if you picked a category. While excel can sort, you will end up with pages of movies beginning with the word "the". Would be 5 stars if app could sort WITHIN a category..Version: 8.9.8

Kimico's MovieBuddy imports data from a CSV, including Delicious Library. I started with the free version and with Kimico' helpful support team I have a sample of my movie library on my phone. I have used Delicious Library on my Mac for years, but had to export my library to Spreadsheet, CSV, or PDF to take with me on my phone.😫 The tech support team is responsive and that adds to my happiness. They are willing to listen to suggestions and include them when necessary. (Like making it so I could import my Delicious Library library into MovieBuddy! 👏🏻😀.Version: 8.11.3
✓ Worth the money!I bought this app as a bundle with BookBuddy & MusicBuddy. It’s so great to scan in the barcodes to download all the details of a movie - saves so much time! Only a few things I might change but they are not major. I’ve got so many cross genre movies (like Black Sheep) that organising my physical DVDs by genre is not useful at all — with this app I can look (and edit) at a list of movies that are tagged by that genre, and the initial data comes from scanning the barcode, saving heaps of time. I can also create my own tags (like Super Favs, Feel Goods, and Movies for Overwhelming Days) — I’m going to add these later, as getting my collection scanned in is my priority. ✓ Love it. But one thing is missing.I love using this app to store and sort my movies. I have over 800 movies so it's nice to not have pull out the case to browse the many films. I like being able to sort them by genre or director and get a count of how many I have that meet specific criteria. My one issue is that there isn't a way to get a count of the movies by year (not that I found anyway). I would love to know how many I have for each year without having to count each one. It’s better than my original app choice “My movies pro” which charged you annually way more than realistic. This app is genuinely user friendly and it seems to find most movies or shows I look up. It takes time to populate (especially if you don’t have the physical DVD cases with their barcodes anymore), but it is worth it. I also use MusicBuddy+ and BookBuddy+. Now I can see the movies like a shelf view. Much easier to pick one when I go looking for one to watch. My Noir is separated from drama now. Easy to categorize, by genre, a breeze. Even has a search function that brings all the information with a simple search within the app. Scanning most movies i purchase in seconds... done 5 bucks, what a deal and just backed up the whole thing on my iPad to the cloud.
