✓ Solid App, keeps getting betterI have been using this app (and the book app) for several years. I’m giving 4 stars not because the app itself is well built, pretty good user interface, and they keep it updated; I’m giving 5 stars because of their responsiveness. The latest of which resulted in making it much easier for us to record when we’ve watched a movie again. One day I would like the ability to share a text list of movie title with year via text message or email. A few of my friends and I like to exchange movie recommendations, nothing fancy, having that as an option would be a nice enhancement..Version: 8.14.8

✓ ImpressedThis app is exactly the type of app I was looking for to catalog my movie collection. Scanning movies in is a breeze. It took me awhile to figure out that I could do several titles at a time, but now that I can, it’s a must faster process. The only reason I have not given 5 stars is that there are a few areas where the app is not very intuitive. 1) I can’t figure out how to export in a format the way I want it to look (cover art, title, & other specific criteria listed by itself). 2) I recently bought a new iPad & it proved to be frustrating trying to get my list to populate on that device. The exporting/importing required multiple attempts. 3) I want the same info to populate for all of my titles, but when I’m scanning them in, I also have to add fields. I wish there was a way for these to appear automatically. Overall these are fairly small concerns. I would still recommend this app to someone with a large collection of movies/shows..Version: 9.1.2

✓ A Great Trilogy of AppsI first downloaded MusicBuddy and found it to be well designed and easy to use. Following that experience I bought the other two Buddy data apps, MovieBuddy, and BookBuddy. All three are available as a bundle at a reduced price, which is great value. Finding the relevant item in these apps is so very easy, they check online for information and covers. I was amazed by the information downloaded for some of my music albums, which included not only the main artist but also, in the case for example of Bat Out of Hell, the names of two orchestras, and 20 performers. The creators of these apps have worked hard on their development and don’t seem to have missed a trick. The latest version of MusicBuddy now enables the user to view album covers in list view or three different sizes. Thanks for that Kimico. I hope you’ll bring that feature to the other apps. (Edit: it’s now in MovieBuddy. Great!) Finally, I’d like to praise Kimico for its support. I had a couple of technical questions which were promptly and successfully answered..Version: 9.2.0
✓ $5 upgrade totally worth itI just downloaded this app yesterday and has already become so useful! Love the option to being able to scan all my movie barcodes, and then was able to compare those that I already had a digital copy for. Also liked that I am able to select various movies and add “tags” or “formats” to help me know which movies I have physical bluray/dvd copies, which are digital and/or iTunes downloads, etc. This will definitely make picking a movie to watch much easier and it will keep me from buying duplicates!.Version: 8.12.12
✓ Great!This is a really great app, I love being able to sort all of my favorite shows and keep track of all the ones I want to watch. If I could recommend anything I would love for there to be an ability to copy all tags from one item to put them on to another. Like if I’m watching a comedy sci-fi TV show I want to be able to immediately copy the comedy and sci-fi tags to all seasons instead of having to manually put them in. The one time upgrade fee was definitely worth it, and I'm so glad it isn't yet another subscription. Favorite features include filtering movies/shows by tags, seeing the top actors/directors in my collection, quickly importing information but having flexibility to edit most fields, and being able to add an entire show series as a single entry. I thought it was so good I had to buy the full version I didn’t mind doing so because it’s an app that enables you to comment on the various films you’ve seen. In the full version, there is no end to the entries you can please. Overall, really good app. One thing I would say would be good. Good to have the opportunity change the colour. Finally my haphazard lists and notes about what I want to watch/have watched are all in one place. Other apps offer this service, however no others I’ve tried offer this much tailoring and customisation. Love the ability to read IMDb trivia directly in the app and the filtering options. After several months of use I am super happy - truly an organised cinephile’s dream. Seriously this is a great app for keeping track of a large film collection and the tools are made much more powerful thanks to the MASSIVE amount of info that each film keeps track of. Tracking actors, directors, and other crew across different films is a breeze and organizing your library by different metrics is super useful. Well worth the upgrade cost! ✓ Great movie catalogue appI cannot recommend this app and it's developers highly enough. I was looking for a replacement for an aging 32 bit app that hasn't been updated in a long time (in anticipation of iOS 11 rendering it useless). I have over 800 DVDs & BDs in my library catalogued in this old app. The developers were extremely helpful in modifying the exported data from my old app into a format that could be readily imported into MovieBuddy. I am so happy that all my movies are in a bright new movie catalogue with a slick interface and that it will still work when iOS 11 is rolled out. I really like the app. It is bright, quick and really easy to use. I love that you can back-up the database easily and sync between devices. Adding new movies is a similarly quick and easy. ✓ Fantastic AppThis is everything you need in a movie and tv show collection manager. It’s very user friendly and the UI is very pleasing aesthetically. It’s simplistic approach makes adding your physical or digital content a breeze and unlike other similar apps which try to include every single option on every single screen this one doesn’t- it lets you do what you want and it does it really well. That’s not to say it’s lacking features-oh no, this app has all the bells and whistles you need, you can add /remove filters, create custom filters have custom artwork etc etc the list is endless. Even the app icon is nice to look at! You also get a fully operational app with no ads or nag screens for up to 50 items so that you can try out all the features- that way you know exactly what you’re buying. Talking of buying for the price of a medium coffee you unlock the apps full potential and support the devs. Talking of devs. I have contacted them 2-3 times during my free try-out stage and I received REALLY FAST responses! I knew then this person takes pride in their work -Bravo! It’s also a breath of fresh-air and so refreshing to find an app which hasn’t jumped on the subscription service band wagon. ✓ Easily Worth The MoneyThis app is easily worth the pittance you pay for it. Other apps are run by scammers (iCollect, Collectors) or are an awful subscription service just to use (CLZ). This is an oldschool, high-quality app that has been on the market for years and, from my experience in the past month, works almost flawlessly. I had a few crashes while switching between this app and another a bunch of times in a row, but otherwise zero problems. Easy to use, easy exporting, all data kept on your phone so no database issues. The custom tags and filtering by that alone is worth the price of admission. 5 stars. ✓ The best app on the market for physical collectors!I downloaded every other app on the market for organizing your movie collection and this is by far the best one in my opinion. The scanner works really fast, it’s incredibly accurate and if not 99% of the time gives you the correct option to choose before adding it to your library, the cover art they choose looks good, they give you an incredible amount of info to filter your collection by, and a ton more. Last but not least the price to upgrade to the pro features is the cheapest of them all and definitely worth it. Great work! ✓ One of the best apps I’ve found.This is the best app available for cataloging your movies. The creators offer a generous trial period of 50 movies. By the time I got to that limit I was sold and purchased the pro version. I only wish I had seen the bundle with Book Buddy before I made the purchase. I would have purchased the bundle instead. A suggestion to the app creators: I think you should make that bundle purchase available when someone is ready to make the Movie Buddy purchase. ✓ Good app, very good supportThe old app I had been using was getting unreliable (random crashes) and hadn’t been updated for quite some time so looked at this for a replacement. It showed that it would do everything that I wanted including import, essential if you don’t want to spend a long time rescanning. Unfortunately there was something wrong with the file exported from the old app but I contacted Kimico support and they fixed the file so it would import. The fixed file imported perfectly. The app works well and syncs between devices. Much better than the one I had been using. 5* app and 5* support ... I’m using their BookBuddy app as well..Version: 8.6.2

Take Delicious Library to go.I have used Delicious Library on my Mac for years, but had to export my library to Spreadsheet, CSV, or PDF to take with me on my phone.😫 Kimico's MovieBuddy imports data from a CSV. I started with this free version and with Kimico' helpful support team I have a sample of my movie library on my phone. ✓ Finally, exactly what I was looking forI can't believe how easy the developer made this. It can scan the barcode and find your movies. You have to review the ones you scan and sometimes correct the cover photos or the edition etc. but it fills in all the things. Trailers, dates, imdb etc and it scans very quickly. I can scan my entire collection in an afternoon. I have 2 people setup on different devices. In order to have the shared database and settings automatically on all devices, we use one dropbox account on both devices. There is a way to do the same with iCloud if it's using the same account on all devices. It took a while to figure out why it wouldn't sync within the shared Apple Family iCloud drive. It wasn't clear at first that it had to be the same apple id on all devices, so it won't work with different people's devices..Version: 9.1.8

✓ Movie buh-uh-ddddyI’ve been looking for an app for a long time to keep track of my movies and allowing them to be alphabetical like I keep mine on the shelf. I kept a note on my phone and it was a pain to keep up with. This app makes things so much easier and I’m glad it has the option to ignore prefixes in movie titles. The options to also add formatting let’s me know if the movie I have is blue ray or not. ✓ Does what it is supposed to doVery easy to enter new movies. I just use the tablet or phone camera to scan the barcode and it gets all the information from the internet. Out of the 160+ I have done so far there have only been 3 or 4 that I have had to go out and find and those were obscure tv series. If you loan friends and family your movies it has a Loaned To category that helps you keep track. ✓ Highly recommend!!I’ve had this app for over a year and have finally decided to review it. This is definitely my favorite and most used app out of everything I have on my phone. I am a film major and a huge film enthusiast and I have completely fallen in love with the app. Its definitely the best way for me to keep track of all the movies I have seen and all the movies I want to see, but better than that is the fact that you can add just about any movie and it gives you all this great information on each film, you can organize and find movies according to actor, director, tags applies, genre, etc., and you can even rate the film and (what I love to do) is write all my comments and opinions on the movie in the notes section after I’ve seen it. One of my favorite things I’m also able to do is record what day I watched what movies. Its a really cool way for me to see when I saw each film and/or when I added each film to the app. If I had one suggestion I would absolutely love to be able to record when I rewatch a movie without losing the date when I first saw it. Essentially, I just want the app to record multiple “watched” dates. This may be just a “me” thing because I rewatch movies so often and really would like my rewatched movies to show up more than once, but I don’t want this to sound like a downside to the app or anything. It’s just personal preference and a way in which the app could improve for me at least. All in all, I am a massive fan of this as a way to better organize movies, more easily add them to your “need to watch” list, and also because each film usually provides me with a lot of really valuable information and there is a section for me to write my thoughts down after the movie!
