Autodesk Fusion for Negative User Reviews

Waste of time!!!!Waste of precious time!!.Version: 2.5.0

Just a viewer not CADOther CAD packages have functional design capability in their app, so why did Fusion 360 make this a viewer only? Shame, because the desktop program is on of the best. Their app however is one of the worst..Version: 2.4.4

A lot of interactive menu issuesFirst of all, there is no way to delete projects which needs to be addressed. Secondly, there is no way to rename projects or folders. There is also no way to delete folders either. I’m sure there are more issues, so this is just the top of the iceberg. I don't believe a 1 star is justified, however attention to this matter is needed. If developers see this, please fix all of these issues and make the interface more usable. Besides that, the app does what it is intended to do decently, view auto CADs..Version: 2.4.2

3*** only until….Fusion is a great cad cam software. I love it. I hate that they make minor changes that throw everything off. I wish the app allowed to make solid models like smart cam does instead of just look at models I’ve made. I have a lot of downtime and don’t have he luxury of a laptop every 10 minutes. Also, I hate that you’re changing to a preferred software. I don’t want to buy another apple laptop just to use your product. I would rather just pay 10k for master cam and have that forever..Version: 2.7.1

Sharing and markup - ok, no editing. Why?Although new to your product I would have to say I am a little disappointed. Why have such a great product in the desktop version and such a disappointment when trying to be creative on an iPad pro? Unfortunately this app is not maintained regularly so Autodesk may not be interested in supporting people. It’s not too much to expect to be able to make basic edits or changes. There are even inconsistencies in the markup function like when adding arrow annotations and text at the same time - these changes do not always update when posting on the iPad Pro. These errors are easy to reproduce so I don’t understand why they have not been fixed. Not able to recommend this product on the iPad Pro at this time, September 2021.Version: 2.4.4

More features please!!I am a student that regularly uses Fusion 360 for school, it is a good application. However, I cannot do much on it when I use my iPad, only view projects. I have the iPad Pro 2021 and no laptop. Upon downloading Fusion 360 on my iPad, I thought given how powerful my iPad was, I could use Fusion 360 “normally” on it. When I found that I couldn’t edit any projects, I was terribly let down. I can only use Fusion 360 at school on their old MacBooks. This holds me back from finishing my projects as quick as I want to. This issue will be greater next year once I work on bigger projects. From reading other reviews, I am definitely not the only one experiencing problems with the lack of features. Please add more features!!!.Version: 2.5.0

Frustratingly iPad app is a Viewer only!I have an iPad Pro. I was hoping to use this app to create 3D drawings using the apple Pencil. Unfortunately it’s only a viewer. Shapr3D although expensive, offers an iPad Pro app to do this so I’m unsure why Autodesk can’t offer this. Also frustrating to only find this out after going through sign up, creating an account, signing up for the Hobbyist version, working out how to create a team....Version: 2.4.2

Unclear that this is barebonesThis program only lets you view and markup existing files, it doesn’t let you design (unlike the full F360 on computer). What a waste of the iPad’s capabilities and the opportunity presented by a touch interface/Apple pencil..Version: 2.4.4

View onlyI was so excited when I found this - CAD, touch screen and able to use the apple pen....that was the dream. Reality view only. Totally useless in that form. Would kill to be able to use fusión 360 properly on my iPad. As is only Tinkercad works on the iPad (browser based)..and it is a feeble kids toy compared to a real cad package like solidworks or fusion 360. Please turn this into the real deal!.Version: 2.4.4

Not actually free, you need a paid Autodesk subscriptionYes the app is free to download, but not free to use. You need a paid Autodesk subscription to use this app. Very annoying since it doesn’t mention this in the description, thus leading to a lot of wasted time..Version: 2.4.4

This does NOT let you 3D model. It is only a viewerI don’t know why everyone is giving review of Fusion 360 desktop app here. This app DOES NOT let you do 3D modeling like real Fusion 360. If this app was titled “Fusion 360 Viewer” I would give 4 stars, but as “Fusion 360”, I would give only one star because it has no modeling features and it is just misleading. Plus, what is the difference between this app and A360? To me they are exactly the same. For Fusion 360 desktop app, I would give five stars, and I am waiting for a day when this mobile app will truly be Fusion 360 and let you model on iPad..Version: 2.4.4

Poor feature setReally poor job. I understand it’s a read only viewer but you can’t even see bodies categories and hide them in group. It shows only the flattening of all bodies without any taxonomy (while the icon, ironically, suggests that). Come on autodesk, you can do better than this.Version: 2.5.0

TemplateI can’t even make a template on it.Version: 2.4.4

M1 MacFinding it very glitchy with the new M1 Mac Mini. The refresh is not consistent and working with dual screens, the working screen quite often needs to be minimized to reset screen issues and then maximize again. I’m not sure they are testing this product under all possible conditions especially when the Mac mini is such a prevalent machine..Version: 2.6.0

No editing or modelling on iPad… what’s even the point of this app?Despite having very limited functionality the app is BROKEN even when using the only useful part of the app — Previewing the files… doesn’t even do that properly. When attempting to view my files from PC, I am only able to see the sketch/model when zooming and repositioning active camera… But the question still remains: WHY CAN’T I SKETCH AND MODEL ON MY BRAND NEW iPAD PRO?! USELESS!!!!!!!!!! Don’t bother with this, the competitors have marginally better offerings - sadly.Version: 2.7.1

Doesn’t work as a viewerThis app is a viewer only, which is fine, except that also doesn’t work. Only displays a blank white screen, and only shows the model when moving the screen for a split second. Pretty much only have this to show others what I have been working on, but it can’t even do that basic function..Version: 2.6.0

Not a usable applicationYou spend 10 minutes setting up a team and project only to find out you can only upload things to it and see existing projects. This is just a viewer and note taker, nothing else..Version: 2.4

Can't open STL files -- extremely unstableTried to add an STL file and it said that the "upload failed" without saying a reason why -- I didn't even want to upload the file, just view it locally. When I hit the X button in the Uploads tab to try to clear the failed upload, the app crashed entirely. When I reopened the app I was logged out despite having selected the button to stay logged in while signing in. It's really incredible that a company with the resources of Autodesk could produce an app this broken when single person teams are able to create STL viewers for iOS that actually work. Really pathetic stuff..Version: 2.6.0

Can’t loginCan’t seem to login at all, just a lag and a white screen.Version: 2.7.1

Fairly uselessBasic viewer only Can’t see sketches / dimensions Can’t hide body parts to see internals Can’t visualise object in different colours/ materials.Version: 2.7.2

Cannot design on IpadEveryone seems to use this software but it’s unfortunately not available on Ipad, you can open designs that you made in the past but not create new ones.Version: 2.4.4

Wouldn’t know what it’s likeI wouldn’t know what it’s like to use this iPad version of fusion360 because after trying unsuccessfully over an extended period of time to create an account and getting this message “oops, something went wrong. please try again later”, I have given up and deleted it from my iPad, not worth the trouble and I am over wasting MY precious time on buggy apps..Version: 2.1

Doesn’t do anythingTrying to open a file just results in a white screen with a spinner..Version: 2.4

Completely useless and a disappointmentThere is literally nothing you can do worth value in this app that you can’t do in a browser. Rather it gains I’m sure some access to your device and then try’s to turn all your clients proprietary designs into what appears to be a social media setting. I got the app because I thought I could do actual work on the go but then realized this isn’t fusion 360 at all and is a false advertisement. If you even can modify a drawing it is not intuitive and the UI is a cheap attempt to mimic a social media platform which has NO useable place in cad/cam which is what fusion360 is supposed to be about. App deleted and if any of my clients designs were posted publicly expect a lawsuit..Version: 2.1

Couldn’t use itI saw that this was offered for hobbyists but that is just not true. Right off the bat I had to create an account. Fine, no problem. I sign in then, I have to create a team. Why? I downloaded this seeing other reviews, that I will mark as not helpful BTW, because I thought I can create this account then start using it. Bring in some artwork and see about making a 3D render of it, but no such simplicity in this app. Immediately requested account deletion. Not for me.Version: 2.4.4

It seems okIt seems like a good app. Coming from TinkerCAD and wanting to level up my designs, I looked into Fusion 360. When I opened Fusion and started messing around to figure it out, I noticed I can’t edit existing designs, and create new ones. So I came back here to the App Store, and read the description, and was disappointed when I learned that the most you can do on iPad is view designs, but not create them. I hope that that is changed in the future. I might have to look into other CAD software that works with iPad..Version: 2.7.2

Terrible mobile appI have no idea why this has such a high rating. It looks like people are reviewing Fusion 360 as a whole rather than the mobile app? Bizarre stuff. The mobile app is terrible. It's singular feature is that it lets you preview your designs, and it doesn't even do this well. If you have a body or component toggled invisible on the desktop app, it simply doesn't exist in the mobile app. There's a measuring tool, but it's impossible to use it with any sort of precision. You have to tap in the rough vicinity of a feature or edge and just hope it gets close. It also crashes constantly, doesn't give you any indication of the loading progress of a design when you tap on it, and it renders everything with an awful striped ambient occlusion setting that you can't disable. Awful..Version: 2.7.2

Com onI have trouble getting to my account 🙁🙁🙁.Version: 2.4.4

It’s only a VIEWERI can’t believe they have this on the App Store with the same name as the full app. This is nothing more than Fusion 360 VIEWER for iPad. It’s disappointing. Our kids have been itching at getting access to it and finally got the student accounts approved. Download and they can’t even work with the models they’ve created in TinkerCAD. Our high school just switched from Dell (horrible devices) to iPad Airs with M1 chip and I would have expected them to handle as well if not better than with TinkerCAD given AutoDesk has Fusion 360 for Macs on M1 already. Disappointed our STEM kids are super frustrated especially considering the painfully consulates way AutoDesk requires student verification and how they collect so much Personally Identifying Information about minors to give them licenses..Version: 2.7.2

Not a working appDon’t waste your time downloading this app. It’s only a viewer. For having such a high yearly subscription price, a working app is expected..Version: 2.4.4

Works well on iPad, but can’t see models on se 2020Models are only visible when rotating or zooming, as soon as I stop touching the screen, the model and view cube disappear..Version: 2.6.0

What good is it?After downloading, I register, I open and there is like 3 buttons! Hmmm, clicking around shows me a few prebuilt projects. I see a whole bunch of people saying it’s fantastic, I can’t get it to work when it won’t allow me to start... no where to start from, just look at all the pretty pictures from a few prebuilt projects. It’s act like A360 - just view the cad files..Version: 2.4

Could be so much moreWith previous access to the web version which I could run on my iPad it’s clear F360 could be doing so much more with the horsepower available. Why can’t we get full CAD on the iPad instead of really basic viewing and markup? The app is ok for what it is but give us a real tool!.Version: 2.7.1

Not what the name suggestsThis is a viewer app for your f360 projects. Based on the app name I was expecting to be able to create and edit projects. Also most of my projects failed to load and googling didn’t help either. Meh..Version: 2.4.4

Has potentialLooks good but doesn't show components and only viewable when you’re holding your finger on the screen.Version: 2.7.1

Please add morePlease add more features.Version: 2.4

Too limitedWould love to have an editor but this only allows viewing..Version: 2.6.0

Repeatedly requires login… despite selecting “stay logged in”. Login email & password split over two screens which makes it awkward to use a password manager. In fact the email screen is not even recognised by password managers as a login anyway..Version: 2.6.0

We need full version! My ipad pro is powerful enough for a full version , not just a viewer. We uses ipad do almost everything like photo editing, video editing instead of photo viewing and video viewing. Please provide a full version instead of a viewer!.Version: 2.4

Fix your endless IOS login systemIt’s been a while, we have to enter our username, password, Duo code every time we open this braindead app. Please fix it, either “remember me” or skip the daily login. And maybe fire your App IT guys because nobody notice it for half year..Version: 2.6.0

A fusion viewer which does not display everythingThis app is nothing more than a viewer and has not been updated in the last 2 years. What is missing with this app is the link animations and actually showing all the objects when 1 or more was hidden during the last save on the workstation. Anyway, ot seems that Autocad does not want to deal with the app store so we cannot expect an update any time soon, which is a shame as I really like to have the possibility to display my designs on a tablet..Version: 2.4.3

Pretty much useless at the momentCan’t view any models when I initially login (understandable). After a few hours the app keeps logging me out despite checking the “Stay signed in”. Therefore I cannot view any files when their models are ready..Version: 2.6.0

White screens IOS 17.1When you open a file on ios17.1 with iPad pro. The app just shows white screens. When you put your finger on the screen it shows but as soon as you release your fingers it turns white again. Please release software that works or don't release it at all. Poor experience.Version: 2.7.3

JunkInstalled tells you to start a team on the web. No instructions, guide, just nothing. Don’t waste your time it’s a dud..Version: 2.4.2

View onlyThe title should state viewer, it would have saved me download data & time..Version: 2.4.3

Mobile app is a disappointmentIt hasn’t even been updated for the iPhone X screen size! It’s 2022! I would love to see AR integration, but this is conspicuous absent..Version: 2.5.0

Can view can’t edit. Was hoping for this app to be a full CAD experience on the iPad Pro, but it sadly isn’t. It’s a shame..Version: 2.3.3

Absolutely UselessI understand that Fusion360 is designed for PC use as it’s a design software but when I found the app I expected to be able to continue using fusion like normal on my IPad but with it being slower and not as good quality. However I found that that’s not the case and that the app is basically just to take screenshots which it couldn’t even do properly as it was buggy and my 3D model didn’t even load..Version: 2.6.1

Bring full editingThis app is a great viewer for the stuff I make in Fusion360 on the Mac but it could be much more. Given that Apple has declared the iPad Pro to be more powerful than 92% of the laptops on the market and frankly my Gen5 iPad Mini is not far behind I see no reason why Fusion360 couldn’t become a great editor on iPadOS. In fact I feel iPadOS would be such a great platform for it when bundled with Apple Pencil. I know there would be a lot of people who don’t agree but they’re deluded and stuck in the past. The ability to make changes to a drawing on the fly without the need to lug around a laptop would be invaluable and is certainly doable. Incidentally if AutoDesk is doing this and needs beta testers then please look me up 😂.Version: 2.3.5

Get with the times, Autodesk!‘Collaboration’ = look, and talk about your models. No editing. No saving. Just a viewer. And still 5 stars!?! I don’t get it one bit. After almost six YEARS… nothing more than looking at models generated elsewhere. That’s it. It’s disappointing, really, with the addition of the M1/M2 chips, and examples of what could-be, from apps like Shapr3D, Autodesk seriously needs to really step up their game. While I appreciate the power of Fusion 360 on my laptop/desktop, no iPad editing support is a serious drawback in 2023. For those working on the run, it’s a necessity now days. I’m shocked to say it, but this next years licensing might be going to Shapr3D..Version: 2.6.1

Good app, horribly optimisedApp is not at all optimised for my iPhone X, with some ui being cut off, as well as black text on blue background (unreadable) the app works but the fit and finish is very poor for my phone..Version: 2.4

Version: 2.4.4

Was hoping for moreI’ve just signed in to the same account I use on desktop, expecting all of my own designs to automatically be available, but there’s no trace of them. There’s currently a rendering bug too - the sample objects are only visible when I have a finger touching the screen. As soon as I let go, they vanish. (iPad pro 12.9”, iOS 16.6.1).Version: 2.7.2

Excellent but...I use fusion on my computer and absolutely love it! However I want to use it on my iPad too, the new iPads are so fantastic and I think the apps need to catch up, because I’d love to go into the office one day and not have to lug around my laptop and be able to run fusion (actual fusion) on my thin and light iPad without any hitches, please make this happen autodesk! It’s the future 😊😊.Version: 2.3.4

Will not work without updatingWhen I finally need it with no wifi, doesn't work at all..Version: 2.4.3

Full version for iPad ProAlthough this product is great for viewing my models on the go and making notes for when I return to the office, but when away from office, as must people these days their iPad is at their right hand all the time whether it’s checking diary entries or putting together quotes, the range from autodesk would real excell if it was on a Mobil plat form..Version: 2.3.4

Works but LackingThis app is great for what it is, however because it lacks almost all the features of the desktop app, I find myself having to carry around both my iPad and MacBook every day. If Autodesk could find a way to implement the features of the full application, maybe making use of the Apple Pencil or iPadOS’s new “mouse support”, this app would truly be worth a 5 star rating. That said, nothing is inherently wrong with this application and if you want what it says it does, you won’t be disappointed..Version: 2.3.8

Zero stars. Can’t load layers?!?This app is idiotic. If you save your F360 desktop project with any of the layers turned off, then those layers are completely inaccessible from the mobile app. They don’t show in the layer tree, so there’s no way to turn them on or off. It’s as if they don’t exist at all. So unless you always remember to save your desktop projects with all of the layers turned on, you will never be able to see the full project in this mobile app. I can’t imagine how dumb someone has to be to design the app with such a glaring lapse in essential functionality..Version: 2.4.4

Cannot do anything with the appDownloaded the app to create my own designs but couldn’t do anything with it. No instructions except for text to ask my personal info and tell me that this tool is awesome. I’ll keep searching for other apps..Version: 2.4.3

Slow, unreliable, unpredictableIve used fusion on desktop mac and iPhone. Its terrible and if you need something to depend pn to cad or cam I don’t recommend this software whatsoever. If your just messing around then totally. But if your serious then use anything non related to autodesk..Version: 2.4

Failed opening fileFirst, I really appreciate using Fusion 360 but can't open many of my files. "Failed opening file. Please verify you have the required permissions". Can you fix this?.Version: 2.3

Really useful BUTUse this a lot for reviewing designs, but it fails miserably in two ways. 1. We need an iPad EDITING app, come on guys there is competition in, for example, Onshape, I'm sure you can do it!! 2. The INCREDIBLY FRUSTRATING pop up box you get every time you click on a design to view telling you the view is being prepared! Just pop up the wait spinner!.Version: 2.3.8

Can’t see 2D sketchI could not find a way to check my 2D drawing..Version: 2.4.4

Misleading title, it’s a viewer onlyI wasted half an hour of my time, thinking Fusion supports iPad, and setting up everything. Well, it does not. It’s just a basic viewer of projects, you cannot do anything on iPad..Version: 2.8.4

Misleading, viewer onlyI used to have 360 on my computer and absolutely love the software. Sadly being disable, I can’t spent long hours on a desktop, but the iPad Pro is a life saver for me. So I with limited income and productivity window on a computer I had to drop my subscription and use Sharpr3D. As time goes buy I might not switch back to Fusion if they don’t hurry and have a functional 360 for the iPad..Version: 2.6.1

Components with joints don’t work well- If you try and view something that has any components connected by joints often your design looks as if it has been blown up. Bodies everywhere in random locations. - even after weeks designs still don’t get previews and can’t be opened. Sharing them often fixes this but really If you try and open a design it needs to generate the preview then and there. - So only really good for the simplest of designs.Version: 2.3.5

Stopped working after latest updateUsed to work ok, quite limited though. Would be good to see sections (such a useful tool when showing people your designs) but sadly not an option. Also the preview notification is a real pain, just show a progress bar if it isn’t ready, otherwise I am like 🤷🏻‍♂️Shall I try again now!? Gave 2 stars because it completely stopped working for me after the latest update. Wish I had the option to leave it as it was, but no, forced update..Version: 2.7.1

Create a team on the web...?Can’t do anything with the app. Created an account, now i’m stuck at a screen telling me to create a team on the web and then come back. On the website, nothing about creating a team..Version: 2.4.3

What a flopDownloaded thinking it was actually fusion 360. Log in, and all i can do is view my files.. booooooring. Goodbye get off my ipad ya waste of space.Version: 2.4

Excellent but broken in 2.7.1Update: Unfortunately, they didn’t fix it in version 2.7.2. I’ve been using this for quite a while and it’s always been outstanding. But version 2.7.1 broke the measure tool, which is pretty important in the mobile version. For me, it’s the most important use of the mobile version. No idea how to submit a bug report. I’ve left multiple questions on their community site, but no response. Hoping they fix it in the next version so I can give it a 5 star review!.Version: 2.7.2

BasicYeah, it’s a cad viewer... It’s next to useless and it doesn’t work particularly well, not worth mentioning. I wish to one day see a full, mobile, fusion 360 modeling platform, much like onshape’s..Version: 2.4

Rating on behalf of the computer versionWhoever made this is an absolute idiot. Some of the decisions made when creating the mechanics of this app are beyond understanding. Everything that I do comes up with an error. It is NOT supposed to be at all difficult for to simply move an object. It keeps switching the controls at random and messing up what I’m working on. I hate all of the stupid yellow and purple dots that it leaves everywhere, I hate that it randomly makes a copy of what I’m doing when I make new component. Most of all, I hate the person/people who created it for making my engineering class a living nightmare..Version: 2.6.0

Impossible to simply download and useFirst you have to login and create an account. Then you have to go on your pc anyways and create a team. I don’t know what’s after that because I wanted a simple app to view STL and this was way too much effort..Version: 2.5.0
