✓ Home Chef EnthusiastsMy wife and I are really enjoying Home Chef. The meals are easy to prepare and cook. We are able to order a wide variety of things according to selected preferences. The meals have always come on time even with the holidays. Might not be a big thing but I really appreciate the meats coming in their own separate bag. There was a nice three ring binder that came with our initial delivery that has been handy for easily storing and accessing our recipes. I like that their is minimal prep and even meals that have pre-cut vegetables. The ease of the oven ready meals with their own foil baking tray help save on dishes and make clean up a snap. We have even enjoyed some meals we can cook in the microwave if we prefer, so nice to have that option for those nights when no one really wants to cook. With Home Chef we have really eased up on dining out or ordering in, allowing us to save money and eat more healthily. ✓ Great so far!I’m on my third week of using home chef. The app is fantastic. Haven’t run into any issues yet. It’s nice to have a binder of paper recipes and the digital cookbook in the app. The food I’ve had so far has been pretty easy and delicious. Some meals require more work and some are oven ready and that is clearly marked on the meals when choosing. When you’re choosing your meals each week you can see the recipe so you know for yourself how easy or difficult it will be and what the ingredients are. We noticed more and more that we were eating the same things over and over every week. Also we we’re wasting a lot of foods and spending a lot of money at the grocery store. We would buy healthy foods, but as I said, we could always find the time for the preparation. I have gotten my 3rd box and still loving it. I haven’t been sent one meal I hated. I have had one I didn’t care for much but that’s the good thing about this, I don’t have to get it again. I can take it off my menu. ✓ Best decision everFor some reason, in the middle of every meal to pause and ask myself, “why did I wait so long to do this?” I have made every excuse under the sun, from I still won’t cook to I won’t like the meals, to too expensive, to I’m just too lazy. The matter of a fact is, I get excited to see what the next meal calls for and how to make it. This is easily the best decision I have ever made. And for those who may be looking for a single service option, I am bachelor with roommates and we all have different schedules. So I find getting the 2 servings is still actually perfect. I can eat dinner and every meal I’ve had has been so good I’m saving the rest for lunch the next day. I’m getting more confident in my cooking skills, and I love the fact I can cook and meal and it’ll present and taste like I’ve been cooking for years. ✓ Way better than HelloFreshMy wife and I used Every Plate for a couple months and then switched to Hello Fresh and were with them for over a year. We finally switched to Home Chef after two months of weekly deliveries from Hello Fresh showing up a day late and our food sitting on UPS trucks an extra day including during the hot summer months. Home Chef has been awesome and so far every box has shown up on time. The produce is way better than HF which might partially be a function of Home Chef being able to deliver our boxes on time. We are also enjoying the ability to customize the ingredients in our recipes which have way more variety than the same ol meat and roasted potatoes that HF seemed to love to feature. I also really like the oven ready meals. So fast to make and really good too! ✓ Best Meal Kit !After trying several meal kit plans, this one is the best to me! The plan has great variety and everything comes pre-portioned. The quality of the ingredients is excellent and the instructions are easy to follow. Their customer service is excellent and any problems are quickly addressed. I have recommended this plan to many others who have also found it to be a great timesaver and have commented that the food is delicious. ✓ Enjoying the convenience and qualityWe’ve been a customer for about a year and a half and enjoy the convenience of the delivery and the quality of the food we’ve received. The recipes are easy to make even for the teenager in the house! Have read some complaints about late delivery but this has only happened to us twice and each time customer service was quick to reimburse us also one time when we received a wrong recipe they also refunded quickly. My only couple of suggestions would be: A little more variety or the ability to ask for favorites. On the recipe cards give measurements for 2,4 and 6 servings. Usually it’s just for 2 servings and even though it may just be doubling or tripling the amount, it would be great to just have it on the card for speed and so we don’t have to remember to do it when in a hurry (I know another food delivery company does it) Other than those two small things, we enjoy the service very much! While our family has some favorites we definitely needed some variety, but as a working mom I didn’t have time to sort through cookbooks and then grab or hope I ordered all of the ingredients. ✓ Used to be better for allergiesI’ve used homechef off and on for years, and while i love it, it used to be a much better subscription box for ppl with allergies. recently i’d paused my subscription because the options just weren’t that great and i was tired of paying for something that wasn’t as exciting, but coming down with covid and having long haul symptoms i unpaused it… and i still feel that same frustration when looking at the recipes automatically included in my order, and the options for each week. it’s not a “preference” like the app says under taste profile. i literally cannot have certain things. and while sometimes it’s fine because it’s a minor ingredient thay i can omit and replace, other times it’s a main part of the recipe! not to mention there are certain sauces ive been sent for recipes that don’t claim to have any soy, only to find that the included packet of sauce contains soy! this is an overall frustrating experience from a company that i used to rlly like because i felt safer with how things were handled regarding allergies but now it rlly feels like those issues have become less of a concern despite allergies being extremely dangerous..Eeri18Version: 3.18.0

I’m sure some of it has to do with the fact that I’m just not great at cooking. Like at all. We have tried other companies similar to Home Chef but they were different. Too many steps, took too long to make, and not enough options. But Home Chef, amazing! So many recipes to choose from all the way from microwaving a meal to meals in the oven. You get to choose how easy or fast you want to make a meal. Home Chef has been a life saver for dinners at home with a newborn. We are 10 meals in and I don’t know how, but every single meal has been SO yummy and my husband and I would 10/10 eat every single meal so far over and over again. ✓ Missing ItemsThe meal kits have been ok. Items have been missing. I have received two orders so far. The first box had incorrect instructions for a different meal kit. The second box had missing instructions and missing ingredients. The box looked like it was poorly thrown together. ✓ Really GoodI’ve used this service since 2016. There have been quality issues, but overall I haven’t had many problems. I see a lot of people complaining about customer service and late deliveries. Can’t say I’ve ever experienced that… My only problem as of recently has been recipe cards being slimy and stuck together for some reason. I’m in Florida and could use another cold pack or two, as mine are usually melted and the contents are warmer than I’d like… That wasn’t a problem years ago. One of the things they would do was cook dinner. So the caregiver and he worked together for a while or later just with me. Home chef saved me planning and some shopping too. The recipes are simple yet delicious, and I love that everything you need comes in the box, and there is no food waste, which is something I can struggle with when buying from the grocery store. We started out with 2 meals per week, but upped it to 3 meals just recently. Our first box included a binder, which is super convenient for keeping all our recipes, but the app has them all as well, which is great! I don’t like a lot of fuss when cooking, so the fact that they have easy, intermediate, and expert meals is nice, however, don’t be thrown off by the word expert, as those meals are still relatively simple to make! One reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because every single thing except the box is packaged in plastic. I think it would be nice if they switched to using more environmentally friendly materials, cause that’s a LOT of plastic when you think about all the people ordering boxes. The other reason is because the oven ready meals never turn out as good as the regular meals. Great concept, but I think they could be improved. Overall though, this is my favorite meal kit service due to the simplicity (yet amazing flavor) of meals, and the fact that the app is super user friendly. I love the portion sizes great if your trying to watch the amount you eat before bed. I always hate eating dinner but the portion size fills us up enough where we don’t feel tired or over full. The food is fabulous it’s got great flavor and so many different variations of food cultures. We try something new every order. Some more severe like the protein not being in the box so I have had to call and get refunded, or the box arriving late abs food bring spoiled. Both instances customer service took care of it. But in every delivery there is a package not sealed correctly. Vegetables have gone bad sooner than they should or spices have been spilled all in the meal package or box because they were broken open. The food is great. The meals are delicious, so easy to prepare (seriously ANYONE can do it - even those rated “expert”), they have increased variety significantly as well as improved customizations for proteins. The portions are generous but not huge and we rarely have leftovers, which is a plus. The “but” is that after this much time the options are getting pretty repetitive & many meals use the same ingredients so they all kind of start tasting the same. Customer service was quick to respond and refund my money. Another meal plan I ordered was two days late and every meal was missing critical ingredients. That has never happened with Home Chef.
