Milk for Us for Positive User Reviews

Almost 5 starsSo far so good. Have been using the app for a week now after switching over from Out Of Milk. I got tired of it crashing and erasing lists when I synced with my fiancée. I didn't want to pay for the ability to sync, but I am trying it for three months. My only wish is that you could change the order of the shopping lists from alpha to a custom order. The list I use the most starts with a W. (Wegman's), so I have to scroll all the way down every time I want to open it. Other than that, no complaints..Version: 1.1

Awesome!!Love this app! I have been using it for a couple years and is so user friendly!.Version: 1.6.1

Exactly what I was looking for!Perfect, easy to use, so handy!.Version: 1.4

Not just for Apple watches! When groceryIQ stopped syncing properly for me, I went on a fruitless search for a new groceries app to share my list with my fiancé. I tried 4 apps, none of them clean or simple like this one. I don't have an Apple Watch, and I get that is a major feature, but happy to share that the list is clean and elegant without it. 5 stars would be if I could pay a one time fee for syncing. The subscription model is a one off in this category. Try it out!.Version: 1.3.2

GreatApp!!!This App is really great and worth the subscription price to be able to share ie with a spouse. Either person can add or mark it off the list if they happen to think of something that is needed.Version: 1.6.1

Best grocery shopping appI use it primarily for making grocery lists because of the way it sorts out the items. You can customize the list to present the items according to your store’s departments. I never miss out on anything on my list. Another great feature for me is how it syncs perfectly with the Apple Watch. Works seamlessly!.Version: 1.6.1

Simple and Clean DesignVery simple yet comprehensive tool for daily usage..Version: 1.4

Excellent!I've tried at least 10 shopping list apps quickly, just to see if they have what I need. This is the only app that did so. You can save and reuse lists, and it's so easy to add to lists. There are also a lot of other unique features. I was impressed!.Version: 1.1

Well doneI've tried tons of grocery shopping apps and this is one of the best. Easy to use and just smart enough without being intrusive. Would give it another star if it was universal. Pricing for list sharing feature is by subscription..Version: 1.2

Prefect shopping listThis is a great app. I’ve tried a few others in conjunction with other things, such as Alexa’s shopping list and Cozi as part of the family calendar but I always return to this. You can add multiple items at a time, make several lists, add categories and it will automatically sort items for you as you go. It’s perfection..Version: 1.4

The Best! This app is great. I love that I can have one master grocery list but multiple grocery stores with different aisle arrangements. I select which of my stores I will be shopping in and my shopping list is displayed based on the order of the aisles as I have arranged them for that store. This latest update allows me to edit, delete and add aisles too, which is awesome. The Watch app is really useful - I no longer have to hang on to my phone while shopping. I keep it safely tucked away and just tap my Watch to check off items as I shop. Only one quibble - I think the aisle icons are unnecessary and take up too much space, especially on the watch version. By leaving them off - or even having the option to not display the aisle name - you might be able to display more than two list items on the watch face..Version: 1.1

Convenient shopping list appSuper easy to use with an Apple Watch- much better than a paper list. Nice visual design, as well. Would like it if the watch app remembered which list you were using when it gets closed so you didn’t have to re-select it each time the watch closed the app. Also would be nice if you could have a “template” list that you could use as a starting point if you know you always get something each time you go shopping..Version: 1.4

Hits the spot!!Just perfect! It is simple to use but has a lot of nice features. I can add my items quickly (or just select them again from my last weeks list) and it has them organized by store. If I am in a different store, it will quickly reorganize them. The iwatch interface is great. Easy to navigate, simple, and clear. I don't mind paying a couple bucks a year for something so helpful. I'm glad I found it amidst all the others..Version: 1.0.1

Replaced Grocery iQ as my favorite shopping list appI tried out this app because of the Apple Watch integration. I wanted the ability to mark off products on my watch as I shop without having to take out and unlock the phone each time. It has rapidly become my main (only really) shopping list app. The functionality is more limited compared to Grocery iQ, for example it does not support scanning barcodes, but it does what it does really well and has all the essentials. It organizes by aisles, has an extensive list of products and new ones are added easily. It works rapidly and reliably and the watch functionality works well. The developer is very responsive to feedback and suggestions. One thing I really don't miss is all the coupons and offers that I've never found helpful or easy to use. In short this is a great shopping list app that I highly recommend. Syncing is also available though I have not tested that much. Five stars..Version: 1.3.2

Terrific app!I’ve used this app for a couple of years and love it. It syncs with my phone, desktop computer and tablet. I can’t go shopping unless I have this app handy..Version: 1.6.1

Greatest simple grocery app with powerful featuresGrocery shopping apps have been a major source of aggravation over the years, with frivolous features, over complex customization options or simply lack of useful functions and sync. This app is almost perfect in that it has the right balance to make it useful and useable..Version: 1.3.2

Perfect little app for watchDoes what it says on the tin. Simple.Version: 1.3.2

Finally!I'm loving this app! The fact that you can re arrange aisles by store is a life saver. Two things I wish it did: 1. I wish there was a way to move an item from one list to another. I organize my lists by store, and if one store doesn't have something, I was able to move it to a different list in my old app. 2. I wish the ability to have family members add items wasn't subscription based. I would gladly pay a flat fee, but will never pay a recurring chagre..Version: 1.3

At last, the perfect shopping list app! This app is great - Daniel has certainly created a must-have. Don't let its apparent simplicity fool you ... this one is full of practical features that are tailor made for shopping lists! Certainly worth the small annual fee to sync with a spouse or roommate (only one fee per account, not per device, which is a plus). I love that now my wife can add items to the shopping list and we don't have to use some third party platform to do it. I usually do the shopping on my own, but tonight we actually both went and did the "divide and conquer" with our watches. LOVED that our lists were updating in real-time with one another. I am loving that the app also maintains aisle layouts for different stores and locations. Makes it so now I have a single grocery list and just toggle where I am rather than keep multiple lists for different stores (since with Milk for Us you can specify stores by individual item). I'm told there is an update in the works to develop a sync between the native Reminders app to allow for easy list adds by voice via a simple watch raise. Very much excited and looking forward to that. I really could go on and on but by now if you are looking for a shopping list app you would have started to see the genius built into this one. Give it a try and you will love it..Version: 1.3

Great Apple Watch app!Excellent, simple grocery list app, replacing GroceryIQ which I used for years. Easy to add items. Easy to alter order of aisles. Syncs perfectly between my watch, phone, iPad. I found this in an online forum while looking for apps for my new Apple Watch. I almost didn't try it because the post I saw was written by the developer. So glad I gave it a try! Developer really nailed it!! No ads, no extra junk. Awesome app, and well worth the 3 bucks to sync for a year.Version: 1.3.2

Just Right!I feel like Goldilocks who just found Mama Bear’s bed. And I’ve tried a lot of “beds”. Milk for Us is just the right mix of features and simplicity. It is visually simple and easy on the eyes, as an iOS app should be. The name is odd in my opinion but the app is GREAT. Grocery Gadget was too complex, replete with prices, taxes, pictures, etc. I used it faithfully for years patiently waiting for an Apple Watch app that never came. It got old shopping with my phone in one hand, repeatedly retrieving it from my holster. And sometimes leaving it unattended in the cart or on a shelf somewhere while reading nutrition labels. Wanting an Apple Watch app, I next tried the Grocery app (lemon icon). It was simple to use but with confusing settings. Their Apple Watch app is tied to the Reminders app which has limitations such as no aisles. So I added the aisles to the note for every item but my notes randomly disappeared after each shopping trip. And it wasn’t so good at “learning” my shopping order in the store as it claimed. I still had to manually order the list before each trip to the store especially after adding new items. NOTE: I purposely waited to review Milk for Us until after I added all my groceries to this app and did my first shopping trip with it. I love this app for 3 main reasons: 1. I like ability to create/edit my own aisles. But if you know your store layouts well, you can just use the default aisles instead of creating new ones like I do. (I’m just a little OC about this.) I only shop at Target but if you shop at more than one store for groceries, it would get cumbersome creating custom aisles for each store as you’d have to have duplicate products, one for each store. I guess you could indicate the store by editing the products with a symbol or letter to differentiate them. 2. I like the ability to default sort the aisles .. my grocery list is ALWAYS in order when I shop. 3. I like the Apple Watch app! It works flawlessly, just tap the items as you put them in your cart. GREAT USER TIP: Adjust a watch setting so Milk for Us appears when your watch wakes, so you don’t have to keep opening the app on it while shopping. To do this, open the watch app on your phone and select General > Wake Screen > On Screen Wake Show Last App > then choose either “Within 2 Minutes of Use” or “Always“. If you want a simple grocery app that works the way we shop in the real world, TRY THIS APP!.Version: 1.6.1

Great little grocery store companionI searched for a long time for a simple grocery app that met a few requirements: - a way to keep lists in sync between my wife & I. - Apple Watch support, because it’s easier to push a cart with your list on your wrist. Milk for Us fit the bill without breaking the bank. It has a low subscription fee to keep development going, and I’m good with that. And now it has iPad support! That’ll make list building a breeze. I highly recommend this app. Only thing it needs now are Siri shortcuts..Version: 1.6

Fast, no kitchen sink!Replaced AnyList with this! It's fast and has only the necessities. No coupons, no ads, no recipes! Yay, yay, yay! I've used many different grocery apps over the years and they all seem to suffer from "feature" bloat, making them slow. This app has just what it needs and nothing more! It is intuitive to use and has a nice clean interface. Did I mention it was fast?.Version: 1.3.2

Best shopping app I've foundI have used a few different methods for shopping - notes, to do, other shopping list apps - but none of them are as user friendly as this one; it makes the shopping so much easier with all the customizations and VERY easy item entry/cross off. We were using a shopping list app that allows us to sync across devices, but it was clumsy, slow to enter items, kept refreshing and disappearing every few minutes while I was trying to shop, and it had its own pattern for where things would be in the store. So when I came to the back of the store, I would find an item from the middle I had forgotten and have to go back for it. It was fine, but I didn't love it (or any of the others I had tried). Then, my husband needed an app to work with his Apple Watch and I found this. Even without it working with Apple Watch (which it does!!), this is my absolute fave so far. I love how fast it is to add an item (once you add one, it automatically highlights the text so you can just type to add the next one) and how easy it is to add a note (so we don't get the wrong type/brand/flavour). But what really makes this app king is how easily I moved the aisles around in the settings so the list is automatically in order of when I would encounter them at my store!! No more going back into the middle because I didn't scroll down far enough! I can even specify a certain store where an item should be bought, to make syncing between devices (communication) even less confusing. Overall, the developer did an amazing job of making sure the user experience is seamless, as well as great features! And I don't mind paying a few bucks a year to sync, I'm fully aware of how apps are undervalued in cost and it puts good developers out of business. And really, the amount of paper and ink for a year's worth of grocery lists would cost the same!!! This app is worth every penny for the syncing feature and free if you don't need to sync. It's made my busy life so much easier..Version: 1.3.2

A little clunky but works as advertised...This review is based on the app without any subscription service use -- just downloaded and started using with my Apple Watch. Seems to work fairly well, but the adding list items is a bit too convoluted. For instance, when I tried to add 'charcoal' (for barbecuing) to the list, the app could not find the product. I click the + to add the item, then I'm taken to a screen to pick out an aisle. This step is really not necessary as we all most likely shop at the same stores and pretty much know where the desired items are. Marking that milk, for example, is in the 'Dairy' aisle is a no-brainer and not of any benefit. Back to 'charcoal' -- so, I just want to add this product to my list as quickly as possible. I see 'No Aisle' is already selected for me -- GREAT! So, what do I do here? It's already selected; there's no OK button, but I do see a big + right there at the top of the screen. Intuition tells me to click that -- NOPE, that's to add a NEW aisle name. Apparently I have to tap the already selected 'No Aisle' to actually choose it. Doing this takes me back to the previous screen where I'm entering in a new product. It's a little more obvious here what to do, but it's still not 100% clear that 'Done' is what I want to finally add 'Charcoal' to my grocery list. I think what's needed here, at least for me, is the option to turn off the 'Aisle' feature totally. Milk is always going to be in the dairy case. Toilet paper is always going to be in the paper products aisle. Bath soap is always going to be in the health and beauty section. Maybe add an option to skip or turn off the 'Aisle' feature. I can understand if one of these items is something not regularly purchased or a specialty item (kebob skewers..?) -- marking an item like this with a particular aisle (aisle #s vs. product type aisle would be more helpful) would then be beneficial. But, here's ultimately what I'd like to do with this app: • Quick list: Add items -- boom, boom, boom. Done. Skip the aisle stuff. A list of items is all I need and I want to compile it quickly and efficiently. • Add new items via Apple Watch. I could be on the way to the store and think of something else I need to pick up. I'd like to quickly add it on the fly by speech through my Apple Watch. I don't see that this is available presently. On the positive side, it does do what it says it will do and lists show up on my Apple Watch seamlessly. The app looks nice as well. I think this app is good and headed in the right direction, but throw in options to simplify the process of adding items to a list and some extra item added ability with Apple Watch and then it's a solid five star app..Version: 1.4

Nice appI was looking for a shopping app that I could use with the Apple Watch. I tried a couple others that didn't work well. Then I tried this one. This works very well with the watch. The app itself is pretty nice, easy to use, able to sort isles per store, able to apply your list to different stores. The sweep feature to clean up items purchased and leave unpurchased items is nice as I tend to split my shopping across multiple stores..Version: 1.4

Easy to useI looked long and hard for s decent app that could sync that wasn't expensive. $4/yr is a bargain, and you only pay one price to sync multiple phones. The app updates almost instantaneously when adding items. Worth the download and price. Simple and straightforward with a simple design..Version: 1.3.2

Almost perfectThis app is great except for one thing. In a word: subscription. I don't mind paying for apps when they are good (and this one is), but I don't want to have to repay every year. Although this app is great, there are other apps that are almost as good that are either free or a one-time fee. Change this to a one-time fee and I'll change to five stars..Version: 1.0.1

This is really, really goodI move to Milk for Us from GroceryIQ to overcome a problem with assigning items to a different aisle and having them stay there. Milk for Us does everything well and reliably plus it's on my Apple Watch! Well worth the annual fee..Version: 1.3

Great grocery list appI really like this grocery list app. It's quite a bit quicker to put together a shopping list with this over the standard Reminder app. I would have been happy to pay a bit for this app but the list sharing subscriptions aren't really useful to me..Version: 1.3.2

Straightforward Easy to Use Grocery List App that works great with my Apple WatchI have been using this app for a couple of years. Easy to use and I can use frommy Apple Watch also to see what is on my list and cross it off.Version: 1.6.1

Perfect list app!!Just started using Milk For Us and I already love it! I've tried several List Apps including To Doist, Fantastical, & of course IOS Reminders. I really wanted a simple app where I could set up different stores, categorize items, and check off items on my Apple Watch. Milk For Us totally fits the bill. I also like how you can set each store's layout to make your shopping experience even more efficient. AND share the lists with family members. Worked great on my Apple Watch. Could not be more pleased with this app and highly recommend it..Version: 1.3

Fantastic!I've gone around trying numerous shopping list apps trying to find one that's free, functions properly, has a nice layout/appearance, and doesn't keep features I need behind a paywall. Finally, my search has ended! Thank you, creators, for this fantastic app! Though I'm not going to diminish the rating for this, one feature I find would be incredibly helpful is if there was a "mass edit" feature to be able to change the aisle and/or store for multiple items at once and to move items between lists rather than having to change things manually one item at a time. Update: I have recently got a new device and while transferring the information over was quick and easy, a few items have disappeared from a couple of my lists. They still appear in the number total on the list screen but are not in the lists themselves..Version: 1.3.2

Essential for Apple WatchI know it sounds stupid, but I am pretty confident that I've used this app more than any other app on my Apple Watch. Sharing the shopping list with my wife, so that either of us can stop by the store on the way home, is fantastically simple. Highly, highly recommended..Version: 1.3.2

The best grocery list appBy far the best grocery list app. Amazing, fast Apple Watch integration. Great custom options for aisles, stores, aisle orders etc. all the features you want without all the useless coupons and ads like other apps. Syncing available for very reasonable 2.99 / year. Keep it up!!.Version: 1.3.2

Essential App for GroceriesI’ve used this app for my grocery shopping for over four years now and it remains one of my favorite and most practical apps. I can easily arrange aisles based on the stores I’m visiting and the order I like to shop. Notes help me remember specifics, like the quantities I need for recipes or a particular requested brand. The watch app has been a game changer for pandemic shopping; I can quickly reference my list and cross off items without grabbing my phone. Overall, this app simply works and rarely fails, and does what it promises to do very well..Version: 1.6.1

Everything I needed! When my last grocery shopping list app went away, I searched a while done something similar. I finally stumbled upon this wonderful app! Not only did it allow me to organize my list according to the aisle layout of each unique store, but I could make separate lists for each store also. The history of everything you have inputed is always handy for those things you need to add each time. Great app!!.Version: 1.3

Great shopping list app!Has pretty much everything I need in a grocery list app. Watch app works great, communication between the app and the phone is flawless. The only item on my wishlist is iPhone X compatibility. Hopefully, developer will add it soon. Keep up the good work!.Version: 1.4

Good stuffWorks great, anyone can add what they like quickly.Version: 1.6.1

Excellent Shopping AppMy wife and I have been using this app to manage our shopping since 2015. It works great and the syncing feature ensures that lists can be shared and kept up to date. I love that I can add an item to a list from the office and have it appear almost instantly on my wife's phone at the store. The Apple Watch app was a great addition, looking forward to using the new Series 4 complication..Version: 1.6

Perfect! This is the grocery app you've been looking for. In one word; perfect. This app is so much better than every other grocery app out there. I've tried quite a few. Problems with all other apps: They are either laden with ads or "coupons", clunky and slow, too generic for effective grocery shopping, don't support sync, loaded with terrible UI that tries to simulate the look of a physical paper shopping list, no watch support, or various combinations of the above. This app fixes all of that!!! If this app doesn't become the #1 grocery shopping app, then the App Store is truly broken. I love that it’s been updated for the iPhone X!.Version: 1.5

Finally a grocery app with it all!I have been searching for a grocery app that categorizes items by aisle, look clean but still pleasing to the eye, and that go well with the Apple Watch (just because it's compatible doesn't mean it's easy to use). Previous apps I liked required a ridiculous yearly fee that I just can't justify. This app only charges you if you want to sync. And if you do - it's super reasonable. The fact that I get to move the aisles to match my store!?!! An awesome bonus that puts it over the top. I can't wait to see what other apps this developer puts out!.Version: 1.3

A list app that gets itList apps are generally about the wonder and joy of making lists, which is fine if crafting lists is your thing. If, however, you want a list app that helps you get your shopping done faster, get Milk for Us. List making is super fast. Adding items that aren't already in the database is super fast (but the database is extensive). Milk for Us looks good too. It's basically perfect, unless you're more excited about making lists than you are about getting things done..Version: 1.3

Perfect! One of the only apps I use that functions exactly how you would hope. There’s not a single feature lacking. I’ve used this app almost daily for over 4 years and still no complaints..Version: 1.6.1

What a Great App!Milk for Us is such a great app. I’ve been using it for years, and it’s always reliably here on my phone and watch to help. Setting up and revising a shopping list is so easy. When I need to get groceries, I simply scroll through my list and select what I want. By choosing from my set list, I don’t need to worry about remembering things - it prompts me instead. Once my list is set, I head to the store and mark items off from my watch as I shop. This is the only 3rd party app I use on my watch. It works flawlessly like the native Apple watch apps. Thanks to the developer for your great work!.Version: 1.6.1
