UserI have used deliveroo once in my life and will never use it again. I was so disappointed in the entire experience. Quite a while ago I ordered something worth around £20. When the food was ready to deliver no one knocked on my door. Instead I received 2 phone calls from them but my phone was on silent so of course I didn’t see. After about 40 mins with no contact I was told that it is my fault I did not answer the phone. I was told they shouldn’t have to knock on the door as it is not in their duty to do so. Clearly walking up to my drive and knocking on the door was too much effort for this person. We were told by customer service that I should have answered my phone and the driver had went to deliver my order I had paid for to the homeless, which seems very unlikely and the more plausible thing would be that he/she had eaten it themselves. It took me 2 whole days of calls and arguments to get the money put back into my account which originally I was told is an impossibility because i should have answered my phone. Even though deliveroo adverts on TV show employees clearly delivering to doors we were told they are in no obligation to do so. Basically it took 2 days to get money back which only happened because I called many many times for hours as I am not letting someone take my money and drive off with my order due to pure laziness..Version: 3.34.0

Awful Customer ServiceThis has now happened multiple times. I try to place an order and the app tells me it cannot process the order or it just freezes at the ‘processing payment’ stage for 20+ minutes. Since I still need to eat, I go to an app that actually works and order food. I try to cancel my Deliveroo order - which has neither been processed nor paid for and is still frozen - and Deliveroo tells me I can’t. An hour later Deliveroo charges me for the food and delivers my original order. They have refused to give a reimbursement and declined to answer my emails. When I got into a live chat (difficult to do because Deliveroo purposefully does not have enough customer service staff to actually help you), they tell me to email again. The simple fact is this is a company perfectly willing to rip you off..Version: 3.97.0

Card Payment DeclinedI am a new user and added my card with the wrong expiration date. After correcting the date, my account wouldn’t let me use any cards or place any orders. I called and emailed customer service about the issue without any resolution. I deleted the old account and made a new account without problems with ordering using the same card information. Otherwise the app has a wide variety of convenient food and delivery choices. Update: I’m still experiencing card payment problems on the app. PayPal has always worked, but the app and mobile site don’t list PayPal as an option. Hazardous to your health, unaccountable and they do not careI have deleted this app because after ordering a gluten free pizza from Pizza Express my partner who is coeliac was presented with a wheat based pizza. Apparently the rider made off from Pizza Express at Manchester Piccadilly without checking whether he had the right order. The staff contacted Deliveroo but they did nothing until the food had arrived. Had she eaten the pizza she would have been poisoned. When we complained Deliveroo would not re-order for us and offered a refund but would not accept responsibility for almost poisoning a customer. When my partner asked if Deliveroo knew about “Natasha’s Law” (food safety laws) they cut off the call. The restaurant were much better and said that riders just grabbing food orders without a member of staff checking they had the right order was a huge issue. I would go further - it is dangerous and irresponsible. Giving food containing peanuts to someone with a peanut allergy without checking it is the right order could be fatal! We have reported Deliveroo to the Food Standards Agency and deleted the app. We will never order from such an irresponsible and border line illegal provider ever again..Version: 3.115.0

The worst delivery app everI ordered food at 8pm today from Dosa Hut in Adelaide. Order no was 9792. The food was ready in the restaurant at 8:30pm. Until 9:30 there was no one pick up the order in the restaurant. No customer service calls picked up. We have been on call for 30min. After then when someone attends says they are looking for riders and will take another 15 min to find the rider and offer is $5 credit. We ordered food worth $60 and it has already been 90min since we ordered and you guys couldn’t figure out one rider. When you do not have enough staff and enough riders to operate a company why don’t you shut rather disappointing customers. Adelaide is literally not a huge city but still you guys couldn’t find a rider for delivery which is hardly within 4km. I would highly recommend upper management to kindly have a look on your basics while establishing such a huge company. Terriblly unsatisfied. Imagine if you were hungry and waiting for your meal since 90min and you couldn’t find a rider to deliver your meal..Version: 3.53.0

Terrible SupportWe are traveling abroad and tried to use this app to order dinner one evening. We placed the order and within 4 minutes it was “delivered,” clearly is was not. We contacted customer service and 30 minutes later they resubmitted it. Over an hour later, nothing. We contacted customer service again and they tried to say it is picked up and on its way. While on the phone we get an email that it was cancelled by the restaurant, because they are closing. The customer service rep tried saying it was closing early. Lie. Our assumption was the restaurant was actually closed and their system didn’t know that. The app should prevent orders from places that are clearly closed and the customer service reps should be able to tell that. It showed many riders were on their way to pick up and then, nothing. Can’t find my house ever so foods mostly cold.The street I live in has a very bad signpost, we have told the council to change it and they put the same sign up. It directs traffic to the bottom of the three section culdesac for numbers 1-20 then directs the traffic to the top for numbers 33-60 but does not mention numbers 21-32 so drivers go down to the bottom of the hill drive up passing our house blindly following sat nav instead of looking at street numbers, they then drive up to the third section of our street and then leave without looking at a single door just relying on computers or phones or sat Nats. The council refuses to fix the problem and this happens every day even with postmen. Please please people stop relying on mobile devices look out your car window or up from your phone/sat nav instead. So many times I ring an hour later or the delivery guy rings me when he’s back in Plymouth 4 miles away then they listen to me come back and leave cold food and very often milkshakes and desserts are spilled or melted or separated/curdled yet they never refund or give a fresh meal and if you say anything the drivers complain about me not about their lack of knowledge about the area. Such a shame because possibly the food would be ok without inept drivers. Also Taco Bell in Plymouth sends out rotten salads. Three times we received mouldy tomatoes and rotting brown lettuce. Get with itI’ve been using this app for years now.. and all it takes is for one sour time, to never use it again. I had and order take over TWO hours to be delivered, as you’d assume, I asked to cancel the order through the app. The person I was dealing with said my order just arrived at the location. As it was now midnight, and I was in bed, I no longer wanted the sushi I ordered. The person at deliveroo I was dealing with said I couldn’t be refunded and to just save my food for the next day.. like.. girl, I am not eating sushi that took 2 hours to be delivered the next day. From this experience a couple months ago, I’ve not used the app, nor do I plan on it. Waited 1 hour and a half and had to cancelPlaced my order at 2:15, and my order was expected at 2:50. 2:50 has come and the expected time has now been pushed out. The app was telling me that they were unable to find a rider who could deliver the food, meanwhile my food was ready at the restaurant. I had contacted the restaurant and they could not advise me upon my order as they were also waiting for Deliveroo to find a rider. It is now 3:20 and I called deliveroo myself, which they told me the order would be delivered in the next 20-25 minutes. Keeping in mind that I live 5 minutes from the restaurant but was unable to pick it up myself as I am sick in bed. I demanded a refunded on my order and I will never be using this food delivery company ever again, I will also be informing my friends and family about the poor services this company has presented me with. 1 hour and a half wait on a delivery that is from a local restaurant is a joke, not to mention it is day light. Buggy app - poor service1. Each time I open the app, it asks for me to confirm my address. This is extremely annoying. 2. I’m unable to text or message the driver, I can only make a phone call. The whole point of using an app is to not call people (and consume minutes). Why can’t we message via the app? 3. Even with the address entered, and also additional notes on how to find my flat in central London, the driver still couldn’t find it. Thus ending up with more phone calls. 4. The driver entered into the app that they “have arrived” and also called me to say they’re waiting for me downstairs. But of course they’re not there. I went down anyway just in case, and no, they were in some other location. 5. Before claiming to have arrived, Drivers should buzz/ring the flat. It’s not fun to wait for them on the street, while they figure out how to navigate London. If the delivery were free, maybe that could be a trade off. 6. The food never arrived (was it left on the street? Was it given to some random person?) who knows...but the driver entered into the app that the delivery had been delivered. (If drivers would deliver it to the apartment doorstep, at least the correct person would be receiving the delivery.) 7. DO NOT USE APPI honestly wish I could give this app 0 stars - the time on every single order is pushed back without any explanation or advising you. Deliveroo gave me a completely different order and provided me with a credit which was fine. Went to use the credit the next day and Deliveroo had blocked my account from ordering anything. Tried to live chat when it was escalated to manager named Kristian who ended the chat once he told me I had to change my password before I could use the credit and my account again. I requested a refund of the money rather than the credit and was blatantly ignored. Still can’t use the credit or my account. I have also previously ordered from a place where the time kept getting pushed back. Fast forward to an hour overdue, I called the shop and was advised that they don’t do Deliveroo and that the shop wasn’t even open (called a mobile number which I’m assuming was the owners direct mobile), moral of the story - DO NOT USE DELIVEROO AS THEY STEAL YOUR MONEY.Version: 3.74.2

Horrendous customer serviceHave used Deliveroo a few times, have previously delivered in good time and usually it is alright at best. More recently ordered a Shake Shack that arrived in ten minutes. Ordinarily that may seem great but when we had a box of food covered in exploded sauces that had been paid for at £1.50 EACH and cold chips, I contacted customer services. I sent pictures and explained the burger was delicious but chips cold and stale and sauces clearly damaged and not only inedible, but destroyed the other items in the package- I got a reply FIVE DAYS later saying ‘sorry it arrived in ten minutes we won’t give you any compensation’ I didn’t ask for compensation, I just asked for a refund on the items that didn’t arrive in any condition to be eaten and pointed out that just because the food arrived in ten minutes, doesn’t mean it left the restaurant fresh/hot. Once again, after days of waiting, I was told they couldn’t help me, despite the evidence I sent to them. Deliveroo are now a necessary evil and don’t prioritise quality or customer. From the best delivery app to the worst.When I started using this app, it was outstanding comparing to other delivery apps that I use. It delivers few restaurants that is not available on any other apps, also it delivery fee is low comparing to others, which is not that big of deal, but still appreciative. However it’s been over a month since I have been trying to place an order.. it always declines which really rose my temper. I’ve tried to order from more than one restaurant to see if the app is working. Honestly it didn’t.. on top of that, their customer service is pure garbage. Restaurants and menus not updated and supposed available credits missing. Support lackingI thought I’d give Deliveroo another go after receiving emails offering credits to use the app again. I ordered dinner in advance and waited and waited and waited... the food never came. I eventually rang the restaurant and they said they no longer use Deliveroo and they never received the order even though I had the receipt and all from Deliveroo when I placed the order. I then cancelled the order and the money did get refunded to my account. However it was late and we were “hangry”. I lodged a complaint and got a reply a few days later apologizing for the inconvenience etc and they said they’d extend the voucher credit for 3 months. I go into my account and the voucher credit is not there. I lodge another support email with the case number and another support person said there were no available vouchers to use. This ain’t itI hate being this person but honestly I’ve had too many poor experiences with this app over the years and i feel a duty to let others know. I started using Deliveroo in 2016 and had negative experiences so stopped using it until recently when I deciders to give it a second go. I feel like I’ve only ever received 1 order within a given timeframe. So many times I’ve placed an order only for there to be no riders available, and instead of them doing the right thing they will literally let you wait for hours and hours just pushing back the expected delivery time and you have to request to cancel and refund - as if I want my order 2.5 hours after I placed it when it’s been searching for a rider for 40mins - it’s completely cold and inedible by this stage! I understand that sometimes these things happen but I have never had this issue with UberEats or door dash - to have it multiple times, YEARS apart with Deliveroo is either suuuuper unlucky or speaks volumes. One issue after the next.I am based in Canberra and have had issue after issue when it comes to deliveroo. On many occasions I’ve had food delivered well beyond the estimated time, up to an hour of additional waiting. On two occasions I’ve had somebody else’s order delivered to me. The first occasion resolution was to wait for deliveroo to credit my account and start the order process again. From my original order to finally receiving the correct meal took nearly 3 hours. On the second occasion I notified deliveroo of the complete wrong order being delivered (the order number and name on the receipt belonging to somebody else and me providing a photo of this to deliveroo) and advised I don’t want a store credit I want a refund as I won’t be using deliveroo again. They’ve done nothing but credit my deliveroo account completely ignoring my request to refund me. I’ve been repeatedly out of pocket, receiving often cold food, incorrect items, missing items, and then other people’s orders. I’ve had drivers claim they cannot find me when I live in a house clearly numbered on a Main Street. Dreadful companyI ordered a meal via this app, I got a notifications telling when the delivery person was on there way to pick up the, I got a notification telling me when the food had been picked up and then a notification telling me that the delivery driver was on their way and that I should keep my phone close for a notification when they’ve arrived I waited… My next notification said that the delivery person came and waited 5 mins and when I didn’t respond (to the notification I didn’t get) they left. I couldn’t believe it! I couldn’t believe that they came and didn’t even ring my doorbell… I contacted Deliveroo to tell them what had happened and they repeatedly me told me that because the driver and informed them that they had arrived I wasn’t entitled to a refund. I repeatedly told them that I didn’t receive any food because the delivery driver didn’t ring me or my doorbell. Eventually after they spoke to several supervisors they gave me my refund because I told them that I would never use their services again and tell everyone in my home not to either (my sister witnessed the whole thing). Like getting blood out of a stone getting a refund from them and I definitely won’t be using them again. Lots of functionality needs workUsed Deliveroo instead of Uber to order from a particular restaurant. I accidentally put in the wrong address and realised as the driver was trying to find me. I tried to change the address to help him but it said the “order is in progress” so I couldn’t change it. I went to the chat feature instead, and it said “not available”. The driver was having issues with his phone so could not answer it when I called - not Deliveroo’s fault, but the other functionality should be better. We literally had no option to contact each other and there were no details of what the driver looked like (car or bike, number plate - only his name) to spot each other. Resulted in standing outside waiting for 20 minutes as we both walked back and forth trying to find each other. The GPS was also inaccurate so we were chasing our tails..Version: 3.90.1

No option to add details to ordered itemsThere’s no option to communicate with the kitchen for ordered items. If there’s an allergy or a preference to a particular condiment or ingredient in a dish we can’t ask the kitchen to remove it. So we’re forced to order something else or be unsatisfied with the order. Not a trustworthy or reliable appThe food often comes very late, often with less than Half of the things I asked for. I’m not given the courtesy of the option to cancel my order when things are not going to be delivered as I requested. And they prompt for a tip ahead of time, which means I’m often actually tipping for this terrible service. When you complain about a missing item you are given the option of a refund or a Deliveroo credit. What they don’t tell you at that moment is that the delivery credit will expire within three months. No you find that out after you’ve already chosen and it’s too late. And then customer service tries to hang up on you multiple times..Version: 3.115.0

UselessThe concept is great the product is ****. They delete your account and all it’s settings out of nowhere which has happened twice to me now. What really makes them useless is their inability to actually fill your orders. I waste at least 2 hours a week on waiting for orders that never actually get accepted or delivered. If you are a good delivery app, customers shouldn’t spend a couple hours a week not getting food they ordered and then telling them that their time, level of hunger, and overwhelming inconvenience that they keep on causing is worth a $5 voucher (which they give about 5% of the time this happens). Minimum wage is more than $5 but yet several hours of my time because your app is **** is worth $5? Too much competition out there, user beware. 50/50 whether the food you ordered will actually show up, and after it doesn’t show up they assure you they aren’t going to charge you for food they can’t deliver 🤣. Joke of an app and business, who should fire the entire customer support team robots as well. I do not think they actually hire many people for customer support but rely on AI to keep on giving you the same pre-canned messages over and over again. It’s literally the most infuriating thing someone can deal with when they are having a problem with their order. Seriously do not waste your time with them..Version: 3.131.0

Terrible experienceI ordered food for the first time on this app and watched the deliverer completely miss my house. He then texted me to ‘cancel’ as food was ‘destroyed’. i watched him go past my house and become stationary not long after, making me think he just took the food home. I then had to wait nearly half an hour before someone came into the live chat function to help out. after getting credit to re-order, i had to wait nearly 2 hours to get food from about 10 minutes away. should’ve just walked but wanted to enjoy my day off. never write bad reviews but in years of using uber eats and months of using door dash i have never dealt with anything like this. there are also slight issues with tracking the driver (big jumps), only being able to tip before the food comes, incomplete menus etc. would highly suggest using alternative apps for this function..Version: 3.149.0

Worse serviceThe worst delivery service you can deal with, their customer service, drivers and service are the worst. They just stolen 100aed and the food too and when we complained they just said we can not return money or deliver the food because the driver can not reach my address. I don’t know how they still leave you keep your company open in UAE while you provide this kind of service. >50% of My Orders End In DisasterI frequently have issues when ordering from Deliveroo. Wrong items delivered, cold food, driver’s car breaks down, driver gets lost and never turns up, etc. My last order had to be re-delivered because of mistakes. It ended up taking over three hours from ordering to food (not) arriving. Everything was stone cold. The delivery to correct mistakes went to the wrong house (left in front of a giant wrong house number). Deliveroo needs to have a better system for correcting mistakes, especially when ordering from large chains. Currently you get put to the back of the queue which can take hours. If you were ordering direct or dining in you would be put to the front of the queue. I spoke to customer service and eventually got a refund. I was promised a call back to discuss it but never got one from Deliveroo. I appreciate the refund but it would be nice to know that I shouldn’t be expecting a call still as this was not addressed. UPDATE: on my last order the driver went to the wrong place (didn’t go to the pin) and was incredible rude and unprofessional. As others have mentioned, customer service is clearly intentionally hard to contact and speak to. Disgusting customer serviceI placed an order at 5pm, and within 10 mins told them that I forgot to mention my nut allergy. I called the restaurant and they had already prepared my order, I called deliveroo and they said they could do anything about it. There was 1 item from my order which had nuts so I went ahead and placed another order through deliveroo for that item, while the second order was being processed a representative from deliveroo called me to tell me that they apologized for not being able to help (the driver was already on the way with my food at this point) and that they would give me a refund for the first order in my account, which I thought was very nice of them. A short while after the second order arrived and the app showed my initial order as delivered. When I called deliveroo they informed me that since the first order was refunded they told the driver to keep the food. I explained that I never asked for a refund (this was a gesture from them) and that I wanted the rest of my food. I then got a call back saying the driver ate my food, so they had to place a new order which I had to wait 45 mins for AND THAT THEY WOUKD TAKE THE REFUND MONEY OUT OF MY ACCOUNT FOR THE NEW ORDER. absolutely disgraceful, especially that I order from them daily..Version: 3.29.0

Consistent bad experience with DeliverooI haven’t ordered for many times with Deliveroo but have already experienced multiple negative incidents with them. There was a time when the rider made up that he had arrived somewhere near my place and asked me to pick up the food myself as he couldn’t find my place. But when I arrived where he claimed to be, I could not find him anywhere. He also left me on read and left the chat shortly after I’ve asked him again exactly where he was. It was already annoying enough needing to pick up the food myself when I was ordering food DELIVERY, but getting pranked by the rider was just another whole new level of annoyance. I’ve already deleted my account and haven’t used Deliveroo for the entire year because of that awful experience but have recently reopened it to give it one more chance. But guess what, the negative encounters kept coming! :) For subsequent orders, the food NEVER arrived warm, unlike what Deliveroo claimed to be, even though the restaurants were ALL nearby my place. Don’t order on weekends or when it’s rainingI’ve given this app a few opportunities to prove that it’s as good as it says, but on the nights where you don’t want to cook - Fridays and Saturdays - the app doesn’t work properly. It gets stuck and can’t process your payment details. It also advertises vendors who are no longer supplying due to high demand. You find out that they aren’t taking orders when you place your order, not before. I’m really disappointed in this app. When I have received an order, it’s often been treated badly by the driver/rider and no longer resembles food when it arrives. I’m going back to ordering from vendors directly, or picking it up myself. It’s too much hassle, and vendors hate it anyway because it cuts into their profits. You want good food at your own home? Fantastic... with reservationsJust used Deliveroo for the first time to deliver an order from our local co-op. Arrived at the speed of light! Well done Deliveroo and the Co-op! By way of a postscript: although we were charged for our original order there were a few items which were substituted for items of lesser value (which in themselves were ok, even if not what we ordered) and one item which was substituted by something we did not want, and for considerably less value. Having raised this with Deliveroo we received a reasonably quick response, apologising and saying our Deliveroo account had been credited with a sum (in excess of the amount overcharged us) which we could use against any Deliveroo order in the next three months. BUT I don’t want a time limited credit against a future Deliveroo order: I want my money back (which is what you’d get with any other supermarket). So this is the big flaw with using Deliveroo for grocery deliveries where (especially these days) there’s every chance there will be substitutions: you have no direct relationship with the supplier as all the money goes through Deliveroo, as do any complaints. Terrible Deliveroo customer serviceThe restaurants on Deliveroo are fanstastic in general, however on multiple occasions recently my order has been incorrect or much later than expected. Having to liaise with Deliveroo rather than the restaurant is a nightmare. Also, considering the recent significant increase in delivery prices, the service can be appalling. For example: yesterday I ordered food with my mother. We were very hungry so elected for the restaurant with the shortest wait time. The delivery time was supposed to be 20-30 minutes. Watching in the app I could see the food was prepared in that time, however the delivery continued to be extended as the driver ‘was making another delivery first’. The food arrived over an hour late and an entire meal and sides were missing. The food that did arrive was cold. I spoke to Deliveroo who said they could give me Deliveroo credit of the food that was missing, but no refund on delivery (and they tactfully skirted the issue of the sub-par food that was delivered). We were offered to reorder the food instead of receiving credit and assured this would take less than 30 minutes to arrive (this took another hour to be delivered). We ended up paying full price for one meal to arrive an hour late and cold, then waiting over 2 hours for the second meal. Poor serviceI used to be a regular client of the app. But recently two bad things happened with the service. One is that it became much more expensive as they now include an extra fee to all orders. The price of the food looks like is also more expensive as they might start taking higher commissions from restaurants. Lastly, my last order was a complete mess. The food arrived cold and with 2 missing items. I spent around 40$ on a cold, incomplete and disappointing meal. It felt so bad and just changed my impression of the Deliveroo brand. The drivers act strange as they call you even before they arrive so you just wait for them at the door… maybe they are pressured with time. the man just gave the order and ran away without even saying hi or goodbye. on top of that I’m sure he made the mistake of delivering the wrong items. Unreliable restaurants -Will only order from deliveroo if uber eats doesn’t tickle my fancyPicture this right. You’re searching through a plethora of online clothing retailers, you narrow it down to a few that you think a few items are kinda cute. You think buying multiple items across different retailers is ridiculous so you pick one store with a few items you like. After some long contemplation, you finally pick a few items that you’re lusting over. You’re so keen for your new purchases you checkout, make your payment and then a few moments later you get an email that your items are out of stock. Imagine that many times over a year. Consistently over the past year I have ordered from deliveroo and the amount of times I have had restaurants ‘cancel’ the order after I have spent some time finally deciding what to eat. Horrible customer serviceMy order was not delivered due to the drivers not being able to reach my address. Deliveroo offered me a credit for the order. However I cannot use this credit for any order and the app is not allowing me to switch payment methods to my credit card. Hence I am stuck in a limbo unable to order anything. I wrote to customer service about this. They responded to my email after two days and promised to fix the issue in 2 days. It’s been a full week and no resolution so far. In addition I would like to point how difficult it is to find any customer support from within the app interface. It has been hidden away under the ‘About’ sub menu of the ‘My Account’ screen. This is a deliberate cumbersome design to prevent people from contacting customer support. Overall, Deliveroo seems to not care for its community of users. Late deliveries with themThe customer support team is very nice, but they just know how to apologize and actually don’t solve anything for the customer. They will always protect their partner restaurants from bad feedback rather than allowing the customer to share their real experience (as customers rightfully deserve.) They delayed my order over 50 minutes and the app wouldn’t give me the option to leave feedback. I talked to 4 different chat assistants, one of them even a manager, and none of them could help me leave the feedback. Let me mention that each restaurant actually has a rating, so the option should be there. Bottom line: they’re not professional when it come to their clients. Terrible customer serviceTried to use the app to place orders three times unsuccessfully despite showing the orders being processed. Even though orders were processed it also said there was an issue with the payment. I tried various credit cards without any success. Was sent to customer service who said account was blocked because of security’s day it was unblocked. Tried it 2 more times and same results. Raises issue to customer service for a second time and they replied that I was being a nuisance and they BANNED me from using the service. What a joke! And a waste of my time. Candidly yoursGenerally I prefer to use deliveroo over other ‘products’ or the market however have been sorely disappointed on the delivery fee changes of late, with noticeable increased fees alongside my regular restaurants no longer serving my address. Seems that the delivery fee increase and the scope in delivery areas has severely impacted my options. Such a shame really, as these 2 things are impacting my decision to use the platform and place orders of late. Whilst I understand the logic behind the business decision and can appreciate there has been an increase in demand under the ‘COVID’ times we are facing, I for one am disappointed by these changes. I would prefer options for an increase in delivery fees for restaurants that are further away however when you increase the delivery fee AND remove my regular / favorite restaurant options, I’m now looking to other platforms and alternatives to deliveroo. Re: Deliveroo Lie - DO NOT USE THEM EVERAfter working a 10 hour shift at the NHS in February 2021, I decided to use Deliveroo for the 1st time. That was my 1st mistake! I ordered a fish & chip meal from Ye Olde Fish Shop, and used Deliveroo. I was told that my food would be delivered at 8.00pm, but I never received my food. Apparently Deliveroo had tried to deliver my food at 7.52pm, which is not 8.00pm! And I was unable to contact the Deliveroo driver. All I was told was that someone had tried to call me at 7.52pm and 7.59pm. But the caller ID shows a number in Leeds, so I did not know that this was a Deliveroo driver, as the number was not local. So I did not receive the food that I had been paid for. And Deliveroo are refusing to refund me, despite the 1st Deliveroo customer service person telling me that I would be refunded as I was a new customer. That was a complete lie, as the 2nd customer adviser told me that was incorrect. And it was my fault that I didn’t answer my phone, or was outside my apartment at 7.52pm, instead of 8.00pm! So don’t ever use Deliveroo, use JustEat instead. As they are much more professional, and will offer you a refund when things go wrong. I lodged my complaint with Resolver & Deliveroo still refused to refund me. Despite Deliveroo breaking the Consumer food & goods Act 2015, as I did not receive the food that I had ordered. Not enough drivers to pick up orders so left to sit coldOrdering my meal at 7:55, i then proceed to be told the estimated arrival is 8:30. It reaches 8:30 and the app is still trying to locate a driver pushing my estimated time later and later. I then contacted customer services and after a 10 minute wait I am told my order will be pushed up the queue and am notified a driver is in the way to the restaurant. Another 10 minutes goes by and the app is now saying locating driver yet again. Living 10 minute drive from Sydney CBD And a 5 minute drive from the restaurant the fact that a driver could not be located is ridiculous. I then contact customer services again and am told the same thing. After a 35 minute wait for a driver to show up at the restaurant with my meal ready to go my order is canceled and I am left with no food. Stole money for a food item they didn’t deliverThis is a warning. I placed an order with a restaurant and they didn’t deliver an item worth £6.95. I contacted their CS after having been a loyal customer regularly spending £20-30 on deliveries. Delete the appEdit: Today I ordered chicken nuggets from a maccas 5 minute drive away (working late). Expected delivery time? 50 minutes. I’ve been using Deliveroo for a while. It used to be great but, as tends to be the way of things, its prices only go up while service quality goes down. App issues make for an unpleasant experienceI won’t use this review to complain about Deliveroo and will focus on issues with the app: when using the Live Chat option for support, it does not save the draft of a message you’re typing. So if you do something like switch out of the app to double check you’ve taken a screenshot, then come back to the app, it loses the message you had been typing. The issue, in my most recent case, that I was trying to report was the driver “Contact” button wasn’t working which is problematic when the app notifies you that the driver can’t find your location. Thieves - Do not use!Today I placed an order and the driver claimed that he could not find my address then left. I contacted deliveroo both by chat and calling customer services to request a refund. I was denied on both occasions stating that the driver waited at the location for 20 minutes and left. Then the CS representative said that the google maps pin was incorrect and that it was my fault. NEVER USE DELIVEROOFirst time attempting to order food via Deliveroo, so I decided to signup to the premium subscription. That was my first mistake. Ordered food, waited 2 hours, and the Deliveroo app only stating “waiting for XYZ restaurant to confirm order”. Driver ate food ~ Threw rubbish in street- Ordered 1kg of Fried Chicken from the delicious 'Koko Chicken', and as usual, watched the order getting prepared on the app. - Saw the driver pick up the meal on the app, and followed his journey as he reached my street. - As he was driving down my street, I went to prepare and get plates ready etc. - Went to the front door and waited, only for the driver to be a no-show. - Checked neighbours doors in case the order was delivered to the wrong address (hard to do as the number on our house is quite large. - No food. Intermittent failures and poor auth handlingI initially had some success ordering using a PayPal payment option, but have had repeated failures attempting to pay for an order using a credit card. This wouldn’t have been so bad but now my PayPal option has disappeared from my available choices, and the menu for adding a new payment option seemingly no longer offers it. In an attempt to workaround this I tried using the web app, where my email address is apparently not connected to the account I made using this app. The mobile app doesn’t let you connect a facebook or google account retroactively, so now I have an orphaned and unusable Deliveroo Plus mobile account. Please sort out the payment options shuffling, and the onboarding process should allow for a mobile account based on a credit card to be linked to an account made on the web app..Version: 3.95.0

No option to add food allergies to ordersDon’t use if you have any food allergies. I ordered gf items (I have celiac), but there’s no ability to add a note saying it’s a severe allergy. The restaurant changed one part of the meal and I spent the evening SO sick as a result. Also, I’ve reached out to deliveroo for a refund and they keep saying they’ll reach out to the restaurant. They said they take allergies seriously, which isn’t true if you can’t notify restaurants of allergies when placing an order. I had also called the restaurant, who’s phone went straight to vm. Great until you have a problem orderI’ve been using Deliveroo for nearly a year on practically a weekly basis (paying the monthly premium fee to get free delivery on orders) and I was extremely happy with the variety of food on offer. Delivery can sometime be a little on the slow side but in general the food is good quality and arrives hot. Then I had an order where only half our meal arrived. I spent ages trying to contact customer services to get the missing items delivered but they said they were below the minimum order amount and couldn’t be resent (my whole order wasn’t below the minimum and it’s NOT my fault that they didn’t bring everything the first time!). All they would do was refund the missing item. So I’m left with half a dinner that is ice cold by the time I’ve spoken to several people at customer services. It ended up in the bin and I ordered something else from dominos so I’d have a proper dinner. Their customer services is absolutely disgusting. I’ve cancelled my monthly membership and deleted the app. Like I said this service is great when there’s no issue but expect to be out of pocket and without any assistance if there is anything missing. DO NOT install this app!This used to be a quite reasonable app for people like me who rely a lot on food delivery apps. However it went downhill in the last couple of months. there’s almost no restaurant options available. it often shows 4-5 restaurant options while other apps have a wider range available. Scam?I ordered food from Brunch Republic for my family. I accidentally put in the address order of Brunch Republic for delivery. On the notes I put Four Point Hotel and the hotel room number (which is less than 2 miles away). The caller called me twice, and I told him my husband was downstairs. I said we are at Four Point Hotel. He was near the hotel. He never showed up. I contacted the company, and they said I put in the wrong address. I explained to them that the address I accidentally put in is the same address of where he put in my food but on the notes, it shows Four Point Hotel. The restaurant confirmed the driver picked the food up but did not drop the food back off (where the location address is). We have no food. The restaurant made the food. This delivery app took my food, and I asked for them to contact the driver for my food and they refused. Terrible customer serviceThe app works just fine, but the customer service could be improved. Why do we pay a service fee when they are unwilling to intervene in case of issues? When the app is faulty and my order goes undelivered for more than an hour and a half, leaving me without food at the close of restaurants, I should be not only refunded but also compensated for the disturbance in my plans. A voucher would hve been a nice token of appreciation, but their customer service is unwilling to resolve the issues their customers face. Ex-customers. Terrible.Placed an order at 10;30, 2 hours later the food hadn’t arrived I try to call the restaurant… but, no answer. I contacted Deliveroo and they tell me they cant refund it but assure me to sit tight and it will be here soon. 1 am I am told the food has arrived. So I walk around outside to check, I check my neighbours doorsteps and porches but nothing. Very unreliable and inconvenientI placed my order early to avoid rush hour for dinner orders. While my order was on its way, the rider encountered a problem, so they placed a redelivery for my order. Usually great but terrible customer serviceUsually great service and a very useful app. Though recently the app did not tell me a restaurant had closed and I placed an order for that night. Horrible feedback system and irresponsible handling of complaintsHave been using this app since the first day I came to the UK for studies. Most of time it worked fine, but I’ve noticed that there’s absolutely no way of reaching out to the rider after they decide order finished, even though you didn’t receive your food. This could usually be resolved for using live chat, but took a huge unnecessary amount of time, and is just annoying, especially when you’re starving :) In addition, it seems like whether your order should be refunded depends completely on how they feel about it. 😂 I’ve submitted an email to the support team asking for a refund for a poorly burger, and all they have to say is “sorry can’t offer you the refund this time” without any further explanations. When I sent them more obvious comparison pictures and asked for a reason for the refusal, they just started playing dead or keep repeating “sorry, we can’t offer you a refund”. Literally the worst handling of complaints I’ve ever seen in my entire life. They also stalled the replies to your complaints usually for at least another two days, and will only send a perfunctory one asking for the information that’s already included in the original message if you are asking for an update :) With this kind of attitude and efficiency, I can only imagine where the company will go in the next few years lol. I switched from ubereatsI switched from UberEats because their customer service is awful and completely dishonest. Useless customer service + never on timeOrdered a fair few times off Deliveroo but no more. They are absolutely terrible when it comes to delivering on time and when something does go wrong, you phone up to their call centre that does nothing but read out their script to you no matter what you say. I’ve only once I think received an order on time. When an order is placed and it’s late, they do almost nothing about it until it’s extremely late and they pathetically offer £2.50 credit for your next order. I had to argue with them on the phone numerous times before about the fact I paid for something that I actually didn’t receive and it just about got sorted in the end. Uber Eats is far better and when you have a problem they are a lot more understanding and deal with the issue a lot more efficiently. Deliveroo act completely powerless when it comes to helping out the customer. I had to tell them how to go about sorting out a problem I had with an order previously rather than them actually knowing what to do in that situation. Be careful…..….so I used this app for pizza delivery and had no problems, service was 💯 BUT that was before I decided to use them to get groceries. So spent long time in the app making the list, arrived first red flag no receipt, then when I looked at what I got it was about half of what I actually ordered. So I go on the app to tell them and it says please show receipt, and list the items not delivered. Well I’d screen shot my list so that wasn’t a problem, but on the item list to let them know it wasn’t delivered a lot were ‘grey’ out’ and you could not select them. Frustrated I emailed them making sure I wasn’t going to get charged for the missing items, I was assured I wouldn’t and also they said they would apply £10 ish credit ( think £9.99 ) but not only did they not give a refund they credit never arrived. NEVER use them again. Room for improvementI’m really happy about the options I get on Deliveroo, however I wish there were a few more. Beyond terrible - DO NOT USE DELIVEROOWe have had so many issues with Deliveroo. We tried numerous times because they appear to be the only delivery app that delivers from our favourite place. Great app but the riders are making me consider deleting itI use Deliveroo often and I have even upgraded my account to enjoy unlimited free deliveries, for something like 11 pounds a month, I believe. The food is most of the time alright, although it could do with better time estimations. My main concern is the riders, I live in a building, on the 3rd flour and I order to have the food delivered to my door. Most of the time, the riders just call me and ask me to come down and pick up the delivery from them. If I wanted to walk, I could walk to the restaurants nearby and order directly to have the food faster and cheaper. However, I use Deliveroo, because I have a deformity and walking is uneasy for me. It’s a pain having to explain this to the riders, so I just go down and collect it, while they are usually enjoying a little cigarette by their motorcycles. Some orders are taking longer and longer to arriveAs someone who makes multiple orders a week - I’ve observed that most orders arrive in the FIRST timeframe that shows on the app. But I’ve recently encountered orders where riders keep changing and therefore causing a delay in the delivery, or there is a delay of up to 20 mins before a restaurant even accepts the order. Order never received and Deliveroo refused to refundI have been using this app to order food for quite some time now and apart from the occasional hiccup I’ve never had major problems. However that had changed recently. I’ve had many issues for the past 3-4 weeks including the driver giving us someone else’s order, parts of the order missing or the most recent one being that our order never arriving. The driver never tried to contact us and my boyfriend even went outside to try and look for him when we could see he was in the area and he couldn’t see him. When we rang customer services they have refused to process a refund or tell us the reason for this. We were asked to email support which we had done right away only to receive the same answer that they are not giving us a refund - again no reason stated. I’m very disappointed considering I paid for a service that I have never received and no one is willing to take responsibility for this. As per my consumer rights I am entitled for a full refund. Awful customer serviceI ordered a £113 meal for someone’s birthday. After it was running late I checked the map and the delivery bike had not moved. then continue to stay there for at least 30 minutes despite multiple attempts to ring them and several direct messages. I said by now the food would have been lukewarm only so what can they do expecting a refund given the fact their driver was not responsive. We asked for the food to be reordered but the deliveroo number could only credit the account and then make us reorder it but when we tried to do so the page wouldn’t load to process the order so we rang the helpline back and spent over 30mins on the phone with a woman who told us we could factory reset the phone as it must be a problem on our end despite the phone working perfectly, login to the account on another phone using a phone number (which is false, the only options are email, facebook, google, or apple) and then said that we had to do it over wifi because “you can’t use data to access the internet”. They kept adjusting out our delivery time. An hour after order, the restaurant still hadn’t confirmed and there still wasn’t an available driver. Really badI’ve tried to order through Deliveroo about 4 times now and and only once received a successful order. The first two times I placed an order and it was proceeding to process when I received a message saying the stores were closed despite the fact they were listed as open on the app. The third time I successful and received an order on time. The fourth time was a disaster. Everything was going through as usual then I received a message saying the driver was close and then they were waiting out front for me. Poor customer serviceI don’t order Deliveroo very often and will probably never again because they have messed up my last 2 orders. When your order isn’t right and you go to contact customer support from the receipt it only sends out an email which you will get an answer back within 48 hours. Hopefully one has died of starvation by then..... Luckily there is actually a customer support number you can use which is hard to find on the app. After calling and letting them know that 2/3 of my order was missing they offered to give me a credit for the missing items. Don’t worry about fee you pay for delivery or using the “service” that’s still included. Ordering take away isn’t always the cheapest and it becomes more expensive when you decide to, but have to order twice, but the company you have ordered through have messed it up. However their customer support is absolutely HORRENDOUS. Can't upgrade to plusMy housemates and I order food regularly. We wanted to upgrade to Deliveroo plus, pretty much because Deliveroo is our go to option but we occasionally order from other places. Upgrading to plus would mean that we would order more from Deliveroo and save on deliveries in the process. I couldn't find the option to upgrade to plus so I called up support and was told that I'm ineligible without any reason. My conclusion was that there's an A/B test of Deliveroo plus in progress and that I just happen to be in the category that has the plus subscription option disabled. Not having access to plus means that I know of a Deliveroo feature where other users are saving money, and I'm not able to do the same. I received an entirely different order, not even close to what I paid for. When I shared the issue with Deliveroo, I was returned €12 based on review of the issue. The worst experience everI once ordered a meal, but it never came. Starving and angry I contacted the customer service staff, the staff only gives very general and vague information and could never solve the problem. The staff insisted that it was all my fault because since I ordered the food I need to stay at my front door all the time to ensure I will receive my order. Didn’t honour discount, then food arrived cold…lucky deliveroo can ‘roosplain’I have used a few of these apps, but this is the first time I used deliveroo. As a first time user they offered me a $15 off first order…I selected food, applied voucher and ordered (after payment taken I found out I wasn’t eligible for the discount - never explained why, possibly a flatmate ordered from same address??? Not the same person. Living 3km from the restaurant I thought this would be a speedy experience and given the premium you pay (without a discount) for two burgers and a regular chip ($50 with fees etc), I was looking for to my home delivered food. The restaurant was quick and handed over the food…then delivery took 22 mins, I could have jogged to the restaurant faster. Deliveroo were not apologetic about the scam on the voucher, and while they acknowledged the time delay - they refunded $12 (and told me that I could still enjoy my cold food). They wouldn’t explain their refund process, but were happy to ‘roosplain’ to me how I felt…never again will I use them. Awful customer service - DO NOT USE!Like many on here have mentioned, they’re great until you have a problem with your order which is due to their riders messing up. Then they treat you like dirt. My pizza which was coming from a pizza express a minute away (I was working on a project with tight deadline at home so didn’t have time to wait in the restaurant). Pizza arrived 9 minutes late and cold. Why? Because the rider couldn’t understand the map and wouldn’t listen to instructions on how to get to my place. All he had to do was ride IN A STRAIGHT LINE. Not even exaggerating... I still have no idea how he managed to mess this up. So after my food was cold and getting attitude off the rider for his mess up, I reported it to Deliveroo who refused to do anything. No refund, compensation or anything. Argued with them over email to no avail. If this was any restaurant they wouldn’t be able to get away with serving you cold food to a customer. Worst of all this is the second time I’ve had this issue in the space of a month. Now talking to my card company to see what can be done. Deliveries are always wrong - Use Uber Eats insteadOver the years I’ve intermittently used this service, but time and time again the orders have always been wrong! First time I thought it was just the restaurant mixing things up. But after using other services (Uber Eats, Menulog, DoorDash) seems to only happen when I order through Deliveroo. And every time I order through Deliveroo. When you go through the process of requesting a refund, they offer you a credit which can take up to 48 hours to process? Or a refund which takes up to 10 days? Not to mention if you select Deliveroo credit that seems to expire after a year? (How is this allowed under ACCC). Don’t bother with Deliveroo if you were expecting your meal to arrive with no headaches. Use Uber Eats instead. And if you’re stupid like me and keep using this service, try doing a credit card chargeback instead of going through Deliveroo’s returns. Don't blame the restaurant for the poor serviceThought I'd give this a try and won't be trying again. I ordered delivery from a restaurant which I know and like. The food order was prepared as ordered and looking at the app was done quickly. The delivery 'service' however was shocking. I tracked the driver via the app and watched as they took nearly 30 minutes to travel the 1km to my home. Getting stuck up a one way street was a highlight. Then not being able to find my house (I live in an obvious and easy to find place well lit with a big number on it - not hard). When the food did get here it was cold and soggy. I asked the driver why so long - they didn't know the area etc etc. I feel for the restaurants in this case - they did everything right to be let down by a driver. Shocking serviceI never write bad reviews but I feel in this case I have to. Of the last 10 orders, at least 9 of them were either very late, cold or just the wrong order, none of these orders were refunded. One order was over £70 worth of food and it had been sitting on the side waiting for a driver for nearly an hour (as you can check on the app when it was ready), when it arrived it was completely inedible and they wouldn’t even refund it. The worst one was yesterday though. I was informed the food had been delivered but it hadn’t and when I called up customer service they said it had been left in the garden. It hadn’t. After searching all around the house, we called again but we’re informed we would still have to pay because the tracker said the driver had been at the house! We were looking out the window and even went outside to find him when we saw he was close on the tracker so we know he wasn’t there, if he was he would have seen us. Our lights were on and we could see everything outside, not to mention our dog barks if anyone is even remotely near the house. They informed me that he had tried to call (nothing came through to my phone) and that he had left the food so we had to pay. I finally did get my refund but not before it completely ruined my night! The worst service I have ever experiencedThe app told me that the driver was 2 mins away, he then stayed 2 mins away for the next 20 mins and then the app told me that my food had been delivered. I called customer service to try and sort it out, the first time I called I was told my number didn’t match my account and got hung up on, so I then went onto my account and saw that the number in place was the right number and it was registered to my account. I called again saying that it was the right number and it was registered to my account, I got hung up on again. I then called for a third time where they told me that my number was registered to my account, so I then explained that my food hadn’t arrived but the app says it was delivered. They then preceded to lecture me on how I had given an incomplete address so the driver had gone to the wrong place. I know this was false because I’d used the address multiple times and two of my friends both made orders with the exact same address and theirs both arrived. I explained this to them and asked if there was anyway I could get my food or a refund. I was then put on hold and then told that the fact that the order didn’t arrive was my fault and that there was no way I could get a refund or my food. Don’t trust their deliverers or their promised delivery time.I was informed by their “helpful” time prediction feature that I would have my meal delivered to me within 40-60 minutes, whilst I accepted that as an unusually long time for my easily accessible location, I waited patiently only to be informed that 40 minutes after I had made my order the deliverer was JUST leaving to pick up my meal. It then took them another 50 minutes for them to deliver my meal. With such delivery prices that I was paying (even with their weak coupons might I add), I expected at least the promised time efficiency. Unbelievable Difficult CancellationListen, I’m not even from the UK, I only went to Europe for a bit and before you know it they signed me up for Deliveroo plus which I didn’t even want. I’m trying to cancel it and there website and app makes it impossible to do. I’ve tried multiple times resetting the password to allow me to deactivate but everytime something “went wrong” and it wouldn’t proceed. I had previously tested it on another e-mail I have and it went fine. Like why the difference? Proceed with CautionI am not a needy person. However, when my food gets taken by the delivery driver on two occasions, I get very upset. The driver literally says he drops it off, takes a picture of it, and then takes it. I have video footage of this on two occasions. When I reach out to Deliveroo, they offer another delivery of the order in an hour. This is kind, however, you still have to pay the delivery fee and tip that you gave to the original driver. They need to fire these people and get honest man to work for them. Not only honest men, but better customer crisis prevention services. If I am unhappy, offer me the delivery fee for free or a coupon as well as the food I ordered. The problem with big companies is that they forget about their customers. I work in the hospitality industry specifically owning a grocery delivery business on a small island in North Carolina. We actually care about our customers when something goes wrong by offering them free delivery and a bottle of wine. Maybe this is the problem with the corporate life. No one will actually read this and this message will do nothing. If anything someone will respond by saying “so sorry you are upset, please fill out this SURVEY that we sent”. Very badDeliveroo have restaurants and establishments on the app who have cancelled their affiliation with this company. Yet deliveroo are still happy to let you place an order and take your money. If a restaurant cancels their affiliation, the very first thing deliveroo should do is delete that restaurant from their database so it’s no longer available in the app. I ordered last night and ended up having to call the restaurant as the delivery time kept getting pushed back, and they informed me they haven’t used deliveroo for quite some time. By that time, it was quicker for me to go in and pick up my food, and we were eating an hour and a half after deliveroo’s original estimated delivery time. I have now also noticed other places on the app, that I have worked for, who I know for a fact don’t use deliveroo. Great service if you like late, cold foodOrdered some fast food and the app said 35 mins for delivery. I had no problem with that. The shop was only a 5 minute drive, but I understand it takes longer behind the scenes to organise it all. But the estimated delivery time kept blowing out longer and longer. The app advised me four different times that four different riders were close to picking up the order. Then would say “having trouble finding a rider”. After an hour, I got tired of waiting and called customer service. They were very sorry and advised me another 15 minutes and I’d have my food. Apparently when they send out the blast that an order has been placed, riders can choose to reject it, thereby forwarding it to another rider. And so on until one of them takes up the offer. At least, that’s what I think the guy was trying to tell me. The food arrived 30 minutes later (almost 90 mins after I placed the order). The food was cold and I didn’t even get an apology from the rider. The customer service rep gave me a $15 credit towards my next order as a consolation. What genius thinks that if they can’t find a house just leave food in a garden?! I live in a drive where the street lights aren’t the best so I purposely turn on every single outdoor light which makes my house light up the entire street so there’s no missing it, every other delivery company can find it easily. The App may or may not be good - but the delivery network is appallingThe app is a bit more complicated and fiddly to use than the other food delivery platforms. But what really let’s it down is obviously Deliveroo cannot match the delivery network of others. This also means that many Restaurants don’t even bother to login to deliveroo. All of this boils down to money. Deliveroo are not paying riders enough. Their margins to restaurants are also too high, as the pricing of same menu items to other platforms is high. Then the addition of a service fee and a delivery fee is just ridiculous. Pricing is so complex. The only reason I still use it, is every few months they offer a retention credit because you haven’t used the app. If you are willing to wait 90minutes for a subway sandwich (something that is Ok to be delivered cold), then you can basically get 2 for 1 with their retention credit. All’s well until you really need helpI’ve used Deliveroo for the past three years. A LOT. Never had a serious problem with them, and they deal with wrong orders quite often. However, yesterday I order wings and chicken wrap from a restaurant via Deliveroo, ate the wings and had diarrhoea after two hours. I thought maybe I ate something else bad that day. This morning, ate the chicken wrap after properly microwaved, and had diarrhoea again two hours later. This time I can be sure because I didn’t eat anything else the whole day, not even coffee. Asked for their help via Order Help, transferred me to their manager, and all they ask is my permission to pass my information to the restaurant for them to contact me directly. Dude, there’s a REASON I ordered via Deliveroo and paid the extra fees, instead of ordering directly from restaurants! I don’t feel safe to pass my info around to individual restaurants, and I trusted you to help me about it, and that’s your answer? Very well, thank you for making me finally decide to say goodbye to deliveries and start to cook for myself. By losing a loyal customer who spent almost 2/3 of each month’s income on you, I hope your business continue to bloom by sucking more blood and turning back to your customers when they need real help. Driver cancelled the delivery halfway to the destination, had to resubmit and order (luckily made it in time just before the store stopped accepting orders) for the second driver to be exceptionally slow. Over two hours before the food arrived. Had to contact Deliveroo myself the next day to be offered a $20 credit for my next order within 3 months. This was less than 20% of the original order and equates to little more than free delivery and a side on the next order. Hate to sound like a Karen but I have worked in fast food, and if I was dealing directly with the store delivery would have been instantly waived and I would have been offered 50% off the order, if not free. Worst service everI honestly don’t leave negative reviews about anything unless my experience has been super bad. I’ve ordered several times with Deliveroo over the years and while some orders were ok, some were ridiculous. Recently I ordered twice, from two different restaurants. In the first case, I received a damaged order with most of the content ruined. I contacted Deliveroo and for an order of around £10, I got 80p back. A joke. The second order, I didn’t even receive. I called the restaurant and they told me to contact Deliveroo to cancel it and get a refund. I spent over an whole hour trying to sort this out. Bad deliveryWe had a problem lately with the deliveroo. After one year of not changing anything in info about where to deliver and a phone number, Suddenly there is an issue with some drivers that can’t find us. They dont call, they just leave a message on deliveroo wich is nowhere to find when I open the app. No notification about the message, no message inbox, so how are we supposed to reply when we cant see it?!! App is Great but many Customer service issuesThe app and interface is great, really really good, as is the navigation, much better than other services such as Justeat. Ability to track orders in real time is great. The only down side is trying to resolve any customer services with orders, minor issues are fine it’s easy to get refunds. However when you have a serious issue ranging from major items missing, cold items, wrong items, getting a partial refund and placing another order isn’t a great experience. If you ordered directly from a restaurant and had a problem they would be able to prioritise dealing with your issue and making you a happy customer and doing more than applying a credit to you account. If you have waited a long time for an order and something is wrong with it the reality of placing another order incurring incremental fees and another long waiting time leaves a bad taste in the mouth, particularly if someone has to sit there eating their meal whilst you wait another 45 mins. Most places are significantly cheaper if you order directly, there really is a premium for the service, which when it works seems great value, certainly a lot less value when you have any problems..Version: 3.115.0

WORST “CUSTOMER SERVICE” EVERReporting errors or missing items is such a headache. If you have a missing item, the automatic system might resolve it and refund you, but if you need to speak to a “live agent” you’re screwed. They will end your chat without saying anything, or there might be literally an hour between replies. It’s infuriating. And if you report something missing and then realize another thing is missing, the system will not let you submit another claim and you’ll be forced to be stuck with the “live agent” who won’t reply to you. JUST EAT or UBER EATS is better!!!!The customer service on this app is disgusting. £30 worth of food ordered and more than half of the food turned up cold not sure if it was the restaurants fault or the drivers equipment that didn’t reserve the heat of the food but still complained and received 60p in store credit. 60p!!!!!!! When you order hot food you expect HOT FOOD to turn up. When speaking to customer service the first one did not answer back after letting me know they want to help me. Ended the chat, spoke to someone else and they kept avoiding my question of if 60p was the correct amount given or if there was a mistake in their system? He then told me it was on a case by case basis and that with the information they have they thought 60p was the best they could do. My food arrived cold for crying out loud! Below averageHave used deliveroo a few times now and on the whole, it’s been alright, but there are a few things that really let them down, my first order was actually cancelled completely despite me ordering it a few hours in advance and the app constantly shifting my delivery time until it was cancelled, I think this may have been where the service was new in the area, there weren’t many riders and the place I ordered from was offering free delivery so it probably didn’t look like a very profitable order to accept for the riders. From this respect it is not a great business model. I have discovered that adding a rider tip to orders seems to increase the speed at which you get your delivery, which is annoying as I’m already paying for delivery.. Furthermore my favourite place to order from is now not using Deliveroo because as a small business, they are being robbed by Deliveroo making it not viable. I pretty much don’t order from anywhere else on Deliveroo so will probably delete the app soon. I also received some credits for recommending a friend, which all expired because I never went over the minimum spend to use them. Would be nice if you got free delivery on 4 orders instead or something (although as previously mentioned, this would probably only result in me getting my food late, if at all). Cannot Tip Driver After Delivery If Missed NotificationI have only used this app once and will never use it again to order food. I do not believe in tipping before delivery, as sometimes the service is awful and I cannot go back and reflect that. With this app, you can only tip after delivery from a push notification. If you do not receive it or accidentally dismiss it, your driver will not receive a tip at all. When I reached out to customer support, they sent me a copy/paste message saying that, and were unable to resend the notification or open the meal in order to tip the driver. I would not blame the driver or the customer support, but I do blame the app creators for not having a way to fix this. Every other delivery service I have used has had a way to tip after, non-reliant on a one-time notification, and they’ve had this service for years..Version: 3.115.0

APPAULING SERVICEI placed an order at 18:33 on a Saturday, granted, it would be busy. I waited the 50 mins I was advised by on my app. The status of my order was the the restaurant were still ‘preparing me food’. Eventually, after over an over, the status updates to ‘assigning a driver’, okay, cool. Not long to go now. 20 minutes passed. I used to online chat through the app. Well, things from here went downhill. I spoke to 2 reps who just kept leaving the chat without the issue being resolved. From there, I had my status drop from ‘rider assigned’ to ‘assigning you a driver’. I got to my third chat, where they could only offer me a £2.50 credit to my deliveroo account. The delivery cost my £3.09 so that didn’t cover anything? I called the restaurant as I was conscious that my food would get cold. They advised me they do not start making my food until a deliveroo driver has turned up as they have had complaints previously where their food has arrived cold because drivers do not turn up. So I had waited over and hour for NOTHING to have even happened. I had to make a call in the end for my order to be reviewed and raise a complaint about the three people I spoke to on the chat and why 6 drivers declined my order. My food did not arrive until 9pm.....cold. All I got was another £2.50 credit and was told they could not offer more as it was not within deliveroo a regulations to do so. £5 off my next order when I will never be using their service again. Worst ordering experience I have ever had and I have never made such a claim before…Spent over an hour trying to get the payment to go through and using every single payment option even adding a new credit card only for it to continually fail to even register (buttons would not even work). After any new credit card having it to client being able to flick back to Apple Pay and with some sort of miraculous glitch in the system to allow for me to use Apple Pay with the same credit card to process the payment in order for the order to go through. There’s absolutely no issues with the funds on the credit card or the credit card for that matter. I even attempted to use PayPal which was coming directly from another bank account that’s a regular use and plenty of funds and still had no success. I updated my software on my phone I tried using a desktop. This would have to be one of the worst experiences where technology completely failed across every platform. Used to be good not anymoreIt used to be a good app, but apparently the current services is only about taking money, and not delivering as we have made one order for 50 dirhams, requesting for food delivery from a certain restaurant, and they deducted the money but the food was never delivered and it showed as if it was delivered and when we contacted the chat support in the app, they said that we do not deliver. This delivery is done by the restaurant, we apologize for the furthest we were tried to contact the restaurant and nothing happened. They did not refund the money and they told us to wait even though we have already waited one hour and 30 minutes with no delivery and response etc. proof they’re just stealing money literally stealing money..Version: 3.165.0

Horrible serviceI ordered food using the app and when I need help from customer service they were rude and not helpful. I order a meal that was 20 dollars or 15 pounds, the order was Thai sweet and sour chicken. The problem was that my meal literally had one piece of chicken in it, when it’s sweet and sour chicken! I did the live chat customer service and all they said they can’t do anything because it’s about personal taste! Umm no I think if I’m paying that much I want more then just one small piece of chicken with tons of pineapple and onions. I also sent them a picture of it and after she told me that it was about personal taste the person ended the conversation without me being able to get more information on how it’s my personal taste....Version: 2.46.2

INCOMPETENCEThe operators of this app are not only incompetent but also very mean, evil and wicked!!! I placed an order on the app worth about £20 plus the rider called to say he was at my building with the order and on calling my partner to go get the order he didn’t see the rider and I chatted them to see what could be done so I am able to take delivery of my order… They confirmed to me that the rider left with my order cos he waited for 9 minutes and there’s nothing they can do to help me!! I was very angry because the order was food for my kids, I had proceeded to write them an email trying to make them see reasons as it’s not my fault because as my partner was outside on time to meet with the rider.. so it’s either the rider was never there to make delivery or he was at some other place BUT please take note of the most important thing here! They confirmed the order wasn’t delivered! They got payment for the said other!! and they bluntly refused to make any attempt to help me and there’s no where it says on the app that after 9 minutes the rider will leave with your order… so I’m writing this review for other users to know that it’s very possible you make an order and no get it on this app!.Version: 3.176.0

Worst service everDeliveroo is the worst delivery service ever in Kuwait. Their drivers are rude, delivering the orders without wearing face mask, orders always missing items and even when redilevering the missing items, the redelivery is missing more items as they are doing it intentionally and paying any attention to picked up orders or respect to the waiting customer, a single order took more than 2 hours between delivery and redelivery and never arrived in full and they said can’t do any further redelivery as the restaurant is closed while it’s still open. They are full of mistakes and unacceptable excuses. Never ever use their service unless you want to suffer to get your meal delivered in full if possible which I doubt it. I’m deleting their app from my device and my advice is to avoid it. It is totally BAD BAD BAD experience, really..Version: 3.75.0

Delivery fee being changed in between Basket and Checkout pointI am using Deliveroo for quite some time now. However, one thing keeps repeating and it starts to be very annoying. Once I am on the Basket page one delivery fee is shown, however, as soon as I proceed to the checkout page, my total amount increases. At the checkout page, you are not able to see invoice details. You are only able to see them again once the order has been placed. At that point I realized that delivery fee has been increased and charged without any previous notice. I understand that fees depend on the location, number or drivers available at the moment etc. but I would expect to pay the fee that was shown to me the moment before placing the order. This has happened a couple of times now, and usually I was ignoring it. Yesterday I asked their support team why is this happening, and they were not able to provide me with explanation for my specific case. They even didn’t apologize for it. I am very disappointed in how this fee is shown and I think it is really misleading. At least they could show it as a price range instead of a fixed price if it is due to change. Ripped Off and Customer Service is Computer Not HumanI have tried all the delivery apps in the UK and the US, this is by far the bottom of the list in terms of service and ability to actually get your food. This happened few times so I’ll share one example - my food was running an hour late vs the app estimate. Deliveroo just kept moving the estimated delivery by 5mins. So I kept waiting. 1) The customer representative told me that they reached out to the restaurant and it will be with me shortly. 2) half hour later I got the same response from a different customer service representative, which makes me think it’s not a real human but some computer response. 3) called the restaurant and turns out it wasn’t open at all, so somehow Deliveroo let me order from a place that was closed. 4) I related this fact to the next customer service representative (now 2 hours after my original delivery) and she said that they can’t refund me but they will investigate. After 30 to 45 minutes more of reasoning that the opening hours indicate it’s closed and nobody answers their phone, they eventually refunded me. So my dinner turned into 3hour project of micro management . Unfortunately most restaurants by then were closed as it was dinner time..Version: 3.71.0

InconsistentUsually don’t have many problems but Placed an order with a 2 hour wait. Reached the estimated delivery time on the live update and the time got later and later. Intermittently had about 8-10 different driver names, that they were either on their way or at the restaurant, which would then switch back to “looking for a driver.” Rang Deliveroo after waiting a further 30minutes from the original time and was told that a driver was at the restaurant and that they had said they were waiting for the food to be finished and it would be delivered within 10minutes (I was credited £5 for my next order as a ‘goodwill gesture’). 10minutes later I decided to ring the restaurant who stated they were exceptionally busy (local sports event) and so had not even started to make the food (that it would be over an hour before they did) but also that there was never a deliveroo driver and they had been trying to contact deliveroo to inform me of this delay. Rang deliveroo again to cancel and was told that the restaurant said the food hadn’t been started because they couldn’t find a driver. Very inconsistent stories and live order status, plus was given an unachievable wait time by the first customer service rep for food that hadn’t even been made!.Version: 3.25.0

Didn’t get our order TWICE!Tried to place an order from one restaurant but was called shortly after and told my order had to be cancelled and I would have to try again. I picked another chain and placed an order with them. They had a store nearby that stayed open until midnight (this was at 8:30) so thought that would be fine. I waited over an hour but still my order hadn’t been picked up. I looked more into it and noticed that they had sent my order to the nearby store that is in a shopping centre and was already closed instead of the one that stayed open until midnight! I called to see what was going on and they told me they have no power over which store the order goes to and they don’t know when the stores stay open until (obviously untrue) so they would have to cancel the order. Even though the app still told me that the order was on track to be delivered on time they told me in future I should call 5 mins after placing the order to make sure the store had accepted it. Even though I had waited for 2 hours at this point after placing my order and still had no food they told me there was absolutely nothing they could do (didn’t offer a discount on a future order or anything). Safe to say I won’t be using this service any more. Seems like they just take your money and pretend that eventually they might bring you some food.Version: 3.130.0

No longer any good at allHuge service fees additional to delivery fee, and it clearly doesn’t go to making the app any more user friendly. The “order progress” is pointless because it’s never close to accurate, doesn’t show how far away your food is, or even when your food has arrived! Had an order go cold on my doorstep before I found it, and the order progress still hadn’t registered it had been delivered. My credit card never ever works despite speaking to my bank AND writing to Deliveroo. Have to pay using PayPal, which doesn’t show up as a payment option until I make a failed attempt to pay on my credit card, go back to the home page, then back into the checkout and try again, and finally the option is there. There are just too many things wrong with this app to warrant any service fees, and the only reason I’ve kept using it is my favourite restaurant only uses Deliveroo, but I’ll just order pickup now as it’s less hassle and much cheaper. I’ll use a different service for everything else..Version: 3.135.0

Stole my moneyI ordered a drink and i got a call from the delivery guy asking for my address. i clearly told him my address and was waiting outside my door. he said he was there but clearly he was at a wrong address. i called again confirming my address and he said he was waiting there. No one came to the door at all. I then told him to cancel the order since he couldn’t find the address. I was expecting to get a refund to my card but deliveroo didn’t send my money back. so they charged my for a drink that I didn’t even receive. Terrible experiencesOverall, Deliveroo started out great in Dubai. Over time, the service started to get worse. No one to call regarding orders, and no common courtesy when you deal with staff online. My order is always wrong, spilled, or items are missing. They refuse to take accountability. Depends on the driverThings can go well with Deliveroo but it often goes wrong. My house is a little difficult to find, I am careful to show it clearly in the map, I give instructions on how to find it and a what3words address. I have noticed that English speakers deliver with no problems, others who don’t have English as a first language struggle. Everyone deserves to work, I don’t want to discriminate against people. I wish Deliveroo would give drivers more support in understanding instructions or would link them up to what3words. I have had food dumped outside a house in another street with the same number as mine, drivers giving up, or asking that I meet them out in the street which is quite a walk to get to. If I could draw a map and save it on the app for the driver to see it would really help. Come on Deliveroo - support all of your drivers and make it easier for them to find addresses with instructions or maps attached. Most people have been nice when I’ve finally found them but food has often been cold..Version: 3.177.0
