✓ NOT A Rhythm Game, But Still Decent.If you're looking for a good rhythm game to kill some time, this is not the one for you, because, well, it isn't one. Despite a description and name that would indicate otherwise, Beat Stomper is just an endless "jumper", if that makes sense, put to some SoundCloud electronic artists' music. Music is not tied to the gameplay in ANY way, so I've got no idea why the music is supposed to be a selling feature. The actual game itself is really nothing special. At least there aren't microtransactions though, right? Seriously though, this app is pretty run of the mill, aside from some notable visual flair that makes it stand out a bit from similar games. ✓ Not worth your time.No touch of a developer can be seen in this game, no creative ingenuity. The gameplay focuses on timing, which could be interesting, except for the fact that the timing of your character's "stomps" is, ironically, in no way tied to the beat, making the music simply a foreground to the actual "progression." This game isn't worth it's current price of free, and, in fact, one would find the rate of monetary compensation I'd expect in hire to play this game to be quite steep. ✓ Fun, but not worth $2The game is pretty fun, but I honestly wouldn't pay 2 dollars for it. While it's free, I recommend it. But, once it goes back to its original price, those 2 dollars would be better spent on something like geometry dash. The game itself is visually pleasing, and the music is nice, but it is barely a music game. There's no sync between them, and all the grunts from the character distract from the actual music. I probably managed to beat all the challenges within 20 playthroughs, but one achievement requires 100 plays. It basically left me dying right off the bat for like half an hour to complete it. ✓ Generic App Store GameIt's just your basic doodle jump game except you take away any kind of art and replace it with flashing lights and colors. The music is fantastic, but when the constant bright beams that overshadow the entire screen prevent me from actually playing the game appear every time I tap the screen, it's just not worth it. ✓ Why is it called beat stomper?I was hoping for a more rhythm-based gameplay, but it's just another endless jumper with some electronic music in the background. The music isn't tied to the gameplay in any way, so why bother making it such a selling point? It's kind of misleading. ✓ The "sexy" voice needs to goDecent gameplay, although pretty standard and derivative. It's not a rhythm game, but has catchy tunes. The explosions on correctly timed jumps distract and can cause lost timing. The worst thing about this game though is the COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY "sexy" announcer voice. I don't need every quip try to sound as though the announcer is right on the verge of peak sexual pleasure. The extreme vocal fry is annoying too. ✓ Good zone out gameBut like everyone else, I wouldn't pay $2 for it. It's visually pleasing, the music featured is great, the limited voice acting is nice and reminiscent of DDR oddly, but the level design only ever changes in color, when it'd probably be at least more challenging to change up the placement of the boosters or the speed of the platforms per each unlocked level. The movements don't change with the rhythm of the music, and so I found myself wondering why I'd need to hear he music at all, when it felt implied (by name and description) that the beat determines movement. It does not, however I do enjoy the music. Like I said in my title, it's an excellent zone out game--and a great free game to play. The developers would have done themselves more favors pushing it out as a free game with small in-app purchases like different block designs or extra boosters and things like that. ✓ It is great but...This game is great but I have problemwith this it. The game crashes about every 5-10 games, without fail, which really turns me away from games as I like reliability. Overall the music is great and the game play is fun. ✓ MehPeople who call this addicting need more stuff in their lives. As for the 'sounds' I have seen complaints about (they are wretchedly annoying) you do have the option to turn those off and still enjoy the music lol The colors are distracting but y'know, games are supposed to offer some challenge right? You are just giving a lil square guy a toss, no real control except when you launch him and choosing wether or not to let him fall naturally or to force him to land. I would like the option to turn off the big counter at the top and be surprised with my progress afterwards. Definitely needs a bit more to do? Like, it is the same 'level' just with different background music and flashy lights. If you play it enough you start to figure out the pattern. ✓ OkayThe game has ALOT going on, so much colours, lots of tapping, shapes flying everwhere, dramatic animations. A bit too much so it makes the gameplay quite confusing. On the other hand, its good to plau of you're feeling energetic! The music is alright however it doesnt really have much to do with the gameplay as you don't exactly "jump to the beat". ✓ Work in progressCons - On IPhone 6, when you leave the game, all the custom settings (Voice on/off) is all toggled back to default. The female sounds are incredibly annoying, and the phone will overheat, causing crashes in High detail. I got all the achievements with it the course of an hour, and took little to no effort Pros - Infinite platformer that look beautiful, and has custom effects for each level that are nearly stunning.
