✓ Too short, good idea but unfinishedThis game isn't all bad. The retro graphics reminded me of early Macintosh UI. The music is mellow and atmospheric piano. And the concept is decent: you run a newspaper where you must make choices as to how much you censor stories or not, and how much you toe the government line or not. But it is not fully realized; your censorship choices come down, usually, to choosing between two headlines. And how much the marketing a layout options really matter is not fully explained. Then there is the shortness of it - 30 minutes in my case. That is not what I expect for the price. Bottom line: not bad idea, but needs WAY more work. Do not buy this game as it is now..Version: 1.0
✓ Need a few events and systemsAlthough I found it really good, it can be boring with all those endings I keep seeing same pictures in neutral and Rebellion endings. However I saw some reference picture of the Eastern District factories on the lean of the Loyalists ending. Dystopia I should say. It raises moral questions and gives players a glimpse into censorship - anything that invites thinking is always a great thing. ✓ Doesn’t WorkApparently the app isn’t able to work on any device running the latest iOS. It crashes or crashes and just crashes. The question I have is: why can’t users get money back for apps that they paid for, but are not maintained or updated? Seriously. ✓ Not enough value for moneyLiked the game, interesting story, good number of options and choices. However, for the price you'd really expect it to last quite a bit longer. Finished it in less than 2 hours, whilst actually reading the news and making decisions. Although it does have replay value, any replay will be considerably shorter than the initial 2 hours. Feeling a bit ripped off by the high cost, should probably be around the £1.50 mark. Also, there is a bug that closed my game right during the ending messages..Version: 1.0
✓ Bug, so you can’t see the endingI’ll say first that even though this is a great idea for a game, there’s very little replay ability. One of the few interesting aspects of replaying it is to see what happens to the journalists, but I can’t even do that because the game bugs out at the end and leaves me with a blank screen. ✓ Unclear Objectives and PlayI love indie games so I don't regret buying, and the game is fun. However, I have realized after playing through many times that I'm not actually doing anything. At least, it feels like I'm not. There are no visible consequences for my actions other than the government arresting a reporter of mine here and there to teach me a lesson. I have tried many different play styles, from towing the government line fully (editing out all mentions of rebels, saving government face, and hiding public immorality) to being the shining beacon of rebellion, but I still can't figure out how to "win." I assumed the point was to get all districts ritcheously angry, but alas. It seems impossible no matter what ai publish or redact or how I market my paper. I do recommend this game though because it's good for killing time, it's relaxed, and I like dystopian narratives..Version: 1.0

✓ Great idea, very little depthI don’t usually leave bad reviews for games but I felt a little robbed with this one. I loved the sound of the game, especially after being such a fan of ‘Papers,Please’ but after 5 minutes of playing I was left hoping that the game would open up into something with more depth than selecting one of two headlines and crossing out bits of info. The game is over very quickly and the narrative is lacking depth. It’s quite boring whatever you choose to do, whether you go against the government, go with them or do a bit of both. The outcomes are essentially the same with slightly different narrative and a different screen at the end saying what happened to your employees. I don't mind that it ends after about 90 minutes of play, but I wish there were more ways to tweak the edits. ✓ Brilliant Concept. Horrible Execution.The brilliant newspaper themed game covers a dystopia where the government begins mass censorship with newspapers holding the line. However, the game is ultimately poorly executed. The choices you make effect the game but you only have about 20 minutes of gameplay before a long 5 min close to reflect on your decisions. The Westport Independent is also riddled with program tic issues, graphical glitches, and the gameplay doesn't reset when you create a new game. Secretly, you can start where you left out in the previous mode....Version: 1.0

✓ Amazing game, crashes on launchI got a bit nostalgic today about this game. Absolutely loved the idea and execution. I just wanted to pick it up again because I was bored and I have insomnia. Tried launching it and just didn’t go past the loading screen. Doesn’t seem to be a workaround. Judging by the way it launches and how it hasn’t been updated in a very long time, I assume it’s either depreciated or the devs haven’t renewed their server license. It should've been $2.99. But more importantly, the game features censorship of its own. You essentially must choose between liberal fascism and robotic apathy.
