1 Gallon a Day for Negative User Reviews

Not a realistic goalThe human body generally craves what it's lacking. It's a marvelous machine that strives for homeostasis constantly. That said the idea that everyone should be working toward 1gallon of intake per day is asinine. If your activity level demands it okay. I know there are days I consume that, barely, but I also happen to be ridge running 30miles/day on the A.T. on those days, and the temp outside is usually in the 90s If the circumstances demand it and your body is outputting correctly 1 gallon is fine. Short of that, you'll just become edematous and most likely hypertrophic heart failure will result from all the excess volume (that goes for any consumption in excess not just 1 gal) Can't believe this app is allowed on the App Store recommending such excessive intake but medcalc isn't allowed to keep simple drug dosage calcs, weird world. If you're getting this to track intake and not overload yourself, just get the nalgene app. At least it awards you coupons for water intake..Version: 1.0

As advertisedPros: it functions as advertised, it's nicely designed- it's simple and attractive, notifications actually help me reach my goal. Cons: does not share data with the iOS Health app, keeps sending you notifications after you've met your goal, if you pay the $2 for the extra features and view your history it only displays days where you met your goal without mention of what your goal was or how much you drank on days you didn't meet your goal..Version: 1.0

Unintuitive. While this app is aesthetically pleasing and easy to use, it lacks many features that other water tracking apps include such as different volume options and a notification badge--none of which are "unlocked" with the $1.99 upgrade. Very disappointed..Version: 1.0

Pro features over pricedI like the simple design and app idea, but $1.99 to unlock only a few limited extra Pro features is too much. Lower it to $0.99 and I will upgrade. The Pro version should also let you enter the exact amount in ounces you drink..Version: 1.0

Needs more goal optionsEverything about this app is perfect except I want to be able to make my goal 3/4 of a gallon instead of 1 or 1/2 gallon. please add this in the next update..Version: 2.0

Do NOT Buy the "Upgrade"App has a settings page you cannot view unless you pay $1.99. I was under the impression you could create your own glass sizes and schedule but when you make your own glass sizes, you're still limited to 3. Also you cannot create a schedule for reminders, just turn off "morning" "afternoon" or "evening." While the app is helpful in reminding me to drink, it also doesn't realize when I do log a drink. Ex: I will log a drink and 5 minutes later, I am reminded to drink. It's a little obnoxious but I spent $2 on it so I'm going to keep using it. Save yourself the money and don't get swindled..Version: 2.0

I love it but it needs workI love the visual appeal, I love the minimalistic look but I wish you had a calendar where we could look back at our progress, better customized amounts..Version: 2.0

U almost had itSo I downloaded this app but didn't use it cuz it didn't have personalized sizes. Then the update came and said that it had personalized sizes and daily log, but that's not true. I paid and yes I have personalized sizes, but no daily log. U were almost there. Maybe next update I'll give 5 stars..Version: 2.0

Okay But Not ReallyI wanted an app that would remind me to drink water and record my daily intake. It does the first thing okay (there's a little pouring bit that plays with each reminder) but there is no trace of a records area, which means you can't really see how you've been doing with drinking water. Also, you can't customize the sizes, which leads to either noting you drank less or lying and noting you drank more. I get that it's going for a simplistic interface, but it's too simplistic and the app suffers from it. Not worth the $1.99..Version: 1.0

No ounce customizationBeautiful app but not being able to change the ounces to match your water bottle sizes makes the app become a water estimator and not a counter. Very disappointed to find that out after upgrading to pro. Please fix..Version: 1.0

Decent appDecent app, easy to use. Thought upgrading would allow me to see historical information, but it doesn't. So basically, 1.99 gets you nothing..Version: 1.0

Cool idea, needs improvementI like the ease of use and UI, but the preset options of large glass (16 ounce) and one bottle (32 ounce) makes this app unusable for me since I use a Blender Bottle (28 ounces). They need to make customization in that regard.. Given this is a version 1.0 I'm giving them a 5 star once that change is made 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻.Version: 1.0

This app has so much potential...The app does what it's suppose to do but there's a HUGE lack of options. I purchased the upgrade for $1.99 and even though it's pretty cheap, the upgrade feels like it should be the regular version. You cannot set reminders. You can customize the amount of water you're drinking but you're not able to add into decimal places. This can be tedious as Most water bottles are 16.9 fl oz I've seen some bottles that are 18.4 fl oz. Now what I dislike the MOST about this app is that once you hit your goal, the app will NOT take in any additional water you've drake that day! You MUST start a new day before you can start adding additional water intake after you've hit your goal. This app has so much potential. The layout perfectly fits iOS. In fact I feel like Apple should incorporate this app into the stock HEALTH APP. But it's just so lackluster... I hope there's an update..Version: 2.0

Needs option to custom addI enjoy this app but find it limiting in the amounts I can add. Your only options are 8, 16 or 32. A lot of water bottles are 20. Being able to custom the amount would make it so much better..Version: 1.0

DangerousA gallon is far too much for the average human being. Big no no!.Version: 1.0

Ok appI paid the $1.99 for upgrade but it only gives you the option to customize cup size nothing else upgrade isn’t worth it. It would be nicer if I could connect to friends via social media to encourage each other..Version: 2.0

Off to a Great StartI've been looking for an app that'll help me track my water in-take with an emphasis on UI and UX. I've tried a lot of apps and all of them fall short in one way or another. Gallon is the closest app to bringing simple hydration tracking and good UI design in one place. Right now Gallon needs Health kit integration and Apple Watch support before I can give it a five star review. Good news is this is version 1.0 and I'm sure these requests are already on the feature roadmap. Now we wait... *Grabs glass*.Version: 1.0

Love it but...Love the concept, only problem is I paid for the full version hoping I could change the oz of water for different water bottles but nothing happened and different places have different liquid measurements, for instance, Canada (ml,L) instead of Oz.Version: 1.0

Gallon is pretty but not super helpful.Reminders are great, UX is easy, and beautiful. However even going "pro" you can't customize the size of the glasses/bottle you use. Which is the functionality you think you're getting when you purchase it. If the point is that this is supposed to make tracking your water intake easier- let someone who paid 1.99 for your free app put in their own number of ounces for a water bottle. And I don't know anyone who actually has 8oz glasses..Version: 1.0

Good, but grim.At first I thought this was a joke, but now I actually like it, but it's not been thought through at all. You should be able to change the measurement from oz to litres at the very least. The paid version should also let you add your own water bottle size and/regular glasses/bottles that you use. This was a good and very bold idea that was executed with no real thought behind it. All style and no substance. I hope the updates come soon before we delete..Version: 1.0

Custom Drink SizesI thought by paying for custom drink sizes I could add as many as I wanted, but you can only change around the three that are there! Oh well, maybe in a future release..Version: 2.0

Great but......The UI is awesome, but I think the look of the celebration can be nicer. Also, I've paid to custom the volume of each container, but I don't know why I just can't find where I can do this..Version: 1.0

Interesting conceptGreat idea, free version is super bare bones though..Version: 1.0

OkayAn attractive and easy to use app, however the lack of metric support makes it frustrating to use (and ultimately why I deleted it)..Version: 1.0

Could be better...Like the minimalism, but it could use the ability to add custom preset volumes, have 3D touch support to quickly log drinks, as well as a notification center widget to show at-a-glance daily progress and allow for quick logging..Version: 1.0

Way too much!1 gallon is WAY too much water to drink in one day! Generally, you should have about 64 fluid ounces of water a day, but it varies based on your activity. A gallon is 128 fluid ounces! No WAY should you be drinking that much. Please don't try to drink a gallon a day- it can damage your health. Unless your an Olympic athlete..Version: 1.0

Much Room for ImprovementBeautiful design and great idea. However, I wouldn't ever pay 1.99$ to keep track of my water intake. One thing I especially disliked about the free version is that I couldn't customize the bottle size in oz. Not all bottles are 32oz..Version: 1.0

Promising start! As far as UI/UX design, I love it - its compelling, easy to use & navigate. BUT its lacking basic "water logging" functionalities. I bought the full app thinking I'd be able to customize my water goals to the ounce, but that wasn't the case. Very little room to "customize" as it claimed. You can't change the bottle/glass either. At least not that I could find. If I couldn't after a few days of using it, then it's a design flaw. 80/20..Version: 1.0

Almost There...I do like this app, but it's missing some features that I was certain would be in the paid version. I really, really want to be able to customize the container amounts. It's quite surprising to me that you can't. Being able to record amounts in litres would be very nice as well..Version: 1.0

Notification issueNotifications not stop on even after deleting the app. Otherwise beautiful interface.Version: 1.0

Disappointed I upgradedI love the idea of this app and it has so much potential. I wish I could customize how much water I am adding instead of having to stick with the amounts listed. Most of my water bottles are 20 oz and that is not an option. I can do the math myself... but that’s what I bought the app for..Version: 2.0

.UPDATE- I purchase this app but now I am not happy that the records section doesn't even update. It's just one single blue dot that is stuck on the same day. I have used this app for 1 week but you would never know that by the records indicator. I try to drink a gallon a day. This helps keeps track. However, it would be nice if we could edit the sizes. Example I have a 30oz bottle I use everyday. Your settings for a bottle is set to 32. So I have to remember to drink an extra 8 oz of water after app states I made my goal..Version: 1.0

ConfusingI bought this app because it was free, but the "upgrade to pro" constantly pops up, which makes it a little annoying. Other than that, cool app..Version: 1.0

Alright...Plant Nanny better!Alright idea and it works no problem. But have you tried Plant Nanny? I mean come on it is way better and more motivation. Also gives you more options of amount being drunk. And keeps stats. Plant Nanny all the way..Version: 1.0
