DO NOT TRUST THEMI have been trying to resolve fraud and it’s been almost two weeks they are giving me the run around. Constantly changing chat agents. Booting me off my app and then asking for verification which didn’t work for 4days- and only available during London time which is absolutely insane. Now after everything, they decide to again log me out and then I should jump through more hoops to log back into my own account to use my own money!!! And there is no call support?! I am truly amazed at this aggressively harassing bullying tactics. I am at their mercy so now I am suffering !.Version: 5.40.0

Appalling customer chat functionI hate hate hate the customer Comms in Monzo. Why can’t you have an inbox with messages like Starling? It is completely unhelpful to have to wait in a chat or deal with chats about multiple issues that overlap. I can’t keep track of communications at all and now realise that over the years I have basically not realised that things like disputes haven’t actually been sorted. I have enough mental load without having to scroll back through loads of automated messages in a crappy chat system. Studies have shown time and time again that chat systems are preferred by men and alienate women… I just don’t have time to scroll forever to find a reply to pick up on something that wasn’t done two months ago when I asked it’s not ok. I have tried communicating via email instead but your crummy customer services refuse. I’m not sure why given that my login link for Monzo is emailed to this very same email address…. Updating review hoping developers readI am a long time Monzo user and have introduced many friends to Monzo over the years. I use it as my main account and make use of all the available features. It’s still a great bank and great app, but I must give it 1 star in the hope that developers read the negative reviews. The new UI update is very poor from a UX perspective, particularly around the joint accounts/sole account switching. It is very confusing and easy to sent money to or from the wrong account. My girlfriend has the same problems and lots of my friends have echoed the same about the new update. Reviews online also regularly mention the UX problems since the update. Please look into the UI for joint accounts since the update. I’m sure it will be fixed as Monzo has historically listened to the community pretty quickly, however I haven’t seen any acknowledgement from them yet of the issues.Version: 5.53.0

👎🏼I apparently put my birthdate in wrong when I was applying for an account. After explaining to them that it was simply and input error, it took over a week of very slow correspondence for them to decline me with no explanation AFTER I had already cancelled my application (because they were taking too long). Poor customer service and all around disappointing experience. Wouldn’t recommend..Version: 4.9.0

AVOID!This bank have changed the great ways they used to support customers. I have I’ll be moving to a newer better version of Monzo. The customer service function has become predictable responses, poor service and quite frankly just a crap experience. Any kind of fraud you experienced you will not be refunded for. No more personal touches and safe havens within your bank. I waited over 3 months after experiencing fraud on Binance and they hit back with it’s not their responsibility to contact Binance, who say it isn’t their responsibility. I guess it’s mine. So lesson learnt about all these platforms that we think we need and they just take from us consumers. We can see where the world is going and we should forget about reliable trustworthy banks with excellent service. Those days have DIED! Thanks Monzo. Failing at every turnI was with Monzo for just over a year. It was my primary bank account for this time and from the normal transactions, card payments, direct debits, things were ‘normal’. This is where Monzo peaks unfortunately. From the very messy, faulty, unsupported on boarding process to trying to get ANY answer out of them that didn’t require passing on to 2, 3 or 4 other staff before an answer is given, to the appalling manner in which the organisation conducts its customer care (or lack of). I had nothing but nightmares when I did t recognise a transaction, my card was stopped then started then stopped, I was given incorrect information a number of times and at every turn I was copy/pasted terms and conditions rather than treated like a respected and valued customer. I was unsupported when I was ripped off by an eBay seller, unsupported when I didn’t recognise transactions on my account and the whole concept of card payment protection seemed to befuddle staff. And even the offboarding process was met with discontent and ignorance, and blaming everyone else in the process…after it had been passed to 4 or 5 different staff, of course! I’ve moved to Starling now and I won’t return to or recommend Monzo..Version: 3.78.0

Great bank that is getting lost in too many ideasMonzo was an incredible bank when I joined. Iconic orange card, instant notifications of payments, Apple Pay integration, it all just worked. Then came the updates… sure, some were meant to improve your life, like “Premium” membership and pots and savings accounts you can access in a tap, or lock to prevent you dipping into them. But then came the user interface updates. The layout changes that move everything around (seemingly on a weekly basis). Then there’s the soft launches, so specific users get new features - like cashback - weeks, even months, before others. On the whole, I still believe they are a great alternative to a high street bank. I just wish they would have the courage to stick with the ideas and designs that people loved, and stop competing with other banking apps that try to hard..Version: 5.51.0

Once challenger, now turning into an old style bank!Monzo used to the challenger bank, they offered quick easy access to your money, through a great app, then they wanted more money, the accountants started running the business so it went from plucky start up to a stuffy old bank behind it’s cool, snazzy app and marketing. This has been reflected in their app, which has steadily become more clunky and more difficult to use, some charges crept in, overdrafts were sneakily introduced and forget offering a phone number to contact customer service. Now new rivals have popped up, the older stuffier banks caught up and now Monzo are very has been, it’s the one that’s grabbing for customers (they’re even running TV adverts - I remember when everyone talked about them) It’s sad to see such a great brand fail and decline, I dropped them recently when better options and service were available, and I’m not seeing those bright orange cards as much. That’s the problem when accountants and leadership start staring at balance sheets and bar graphs, THEY don’t bring in profit, they lose customers, if I were you go else where to a bank that actually GETS it’s customers not one that only UNDERSTANDS it’s balance sheets..Version: 5.14.0

🚨🚨🚨 stay away … DO NOT JOIN THIS BANKI have always used the traditional banks Nat West and nationwide… I decided to give Monzo a go as I had seen an advertisement for it .. I set everything up and for the first few weeks it was great ,, transactions are very easy and the app is great .. I started to use this account as my main account so and had a balance of around £3000 ,,,,,,, this is where it all went wrong ,, I received a message saying they had decided to close my account ,,, no explanation, can’t speak to anyone as they don’t have a facility to actually speak to a person .. I did eventually get a response from customer service by email who just told me that they can’t give me an explanation but my account has been closed and I will receive my money in 2-4 weeks .. I have been in constant contact with them requesting updates but just get the exact same answer .. it’s been over 4 week now and still haven’t received my money .. I will be taking this matter to the financial ombudsman but it doesn’t solve my problem now xmas is next week and Monzo have all my money.Version: 4.12.0

FraudIdk how but my account got hacked and the person CONTINUOUSLY tried to charge my account every day even after I reported it. Fortunately I only had $47 in my account at the time but they took $45 of it and then continued to try to charge my account with 7-800 dollar purchases. I had to call the UK to get my problem resolved and that cost a FORTUNE on my cellphone plan. There really is no good side to this bank, I do NOT recommend..Version: 5.30.0

Account FrozenI have only been Banking with Monzo Bank for a week and so far my experience with Monzo has been nothing but a complete nightmare my account was operating and functioning probably on every level until i placed my money into there Bank immediately when i needed access to pay a bill myMonzo account doesn't work it's frozen i then contact there customer service support by phone with no Representative's to assist me only a recorded message instructing me to leave a message on there app. I then voiced my concerns regarding my account on there app with a vague useless response similar to a bot and now several days later and still has not been resolved. Love Monzo, Hate the New AppI’ve been with Monzo for about 5-6 years and love a lot of the banking features it offers. Usually well ahead of the curve in regards to tech (getting paid early, freezing card instead of replacing, seeing card details in the app) and have never had any issues with day to day management. Despite the below frustrations, overall I really enjoy banking with them. The new app layout however is so disappointing. It’s cluttered and disorganised, with multiple different locations for pots, savings and overall account balance, making it unnecessarily complicated to work out your finances. There feels like constant upsell banners, tickers and widgets telling me to ‘upgrade’ for different features I’m not interested in. I just want a clean, simple user experience that allows me to track my spend, not a social media style layout with ads, that makes me play hide and seek with my savings..Version: 5.50.0

Really disappointedAfter reading a lot of reviews on the bank, I had high hopes. Unfortunately I found that there were a lot of things that frustrated me about this bank which ranged from making cash withdrawals/ putting cash in (there is a limit which isn't the case for any other bank) to paying cheques in (it takes over 2 weeks to process plus they ask you a load of silly questions - Lloyds for example, are able to take a picture from your phone and it’s processed in two days so you don’t even need to leave the house). But the thing I found most frustrating is the support element- you end up waiting ages for a response to your question and are passed around the team. If you call up they can only do so much and are redirected back to the app to wait for a response - so frustrating as it doesn’t feel like anything gets resolved quickly. So overall, I’m really disappointed with this bank and have moved back to a high street bank..Version: 3.62.0

Denied with no reasonHad several troubles with their app and it getting stuck on certain steps: the support team were often quick and very friendly, but no reasons were ever given and they doubted my address was valid (claiming it must not be in Royal Mail’s system, and it has been for decades..). Finally after 3 tried to confirm my identity, I accepted all terms and they suddenly said I wasn’t eligible. No reason given, no credit was applied for, no further support. Offered to contact a review team but wouldn’t tell me what they could do or what sort of process there is. Also told I’m barred from applying again? I was a huge advocate of Monzo but recentlySo I’d have been the first to say that Monzo was awesome. As a challenger bank they challenged and won against many of the other big banks. So what has changed. Firstly the natural growth of a business often means a watering down of quality whether it’s technical support customer service speed of response, or even more products we're targeted with marketing collateral I do t want and over automation. Well this seems to be creeping into Monzo. I’ve always lived there chat with us but as of late shorter more curt and less helpful replies with assumptions aplenty. When we think tech works and it doesn’t it takes ages to realise problems. Payments not allowed for u known reasons causing issues. Monzo also updated the UI and changes the quality of the user experience personally I dont like it any more. Gone from 5 to 2 stars for now. Hope it changes back soon..Version: 5.49.0

No support for PlaidAs someone who uses Copilot budgeting app, Plaid support is crucial and how my local credit union can have support for Plaid, but a fintech company like Monzo not, is beyond me. I’ve been using Monzo for the past two months as my primary bank and not being able to use my budgeting app of choice is incredibly frustrating. What worse is that on Monzo’s development roadmap, Plaid support falls low on the list and it doesn’t seem to be a priority at all. Granted, Monzo has built in budgeting tools, but they pale in comparison to something like Copilot. So while I’m not going to close my account, I will switch back to my credit union in the mean time. Aside that, the app has a nice interface and the pots feature is quite nice as well..Version: 4.50.0

Strongly advise a different bankI have use Monzo for a couple of years, and never really had a problem with it, until today. My problem is pretty well known, just look up Monzo freezing and closing accounts. They have frozen my account after I tried to buy PC parts on eBay. I still have £850 in the account which I cannot access or spend/transfer. I just got my wages and need to buy food and pay electric and rent, which I cannot do now. They froze it when I was about 100 miles away from home, so I had no access to money for petrol, or even a train to get myself home, so I am currently writing this whilst walking 100 miles home. I have uploaded proof of what I was purchasing to the live chat and emailed about it, but so far they have done nothing. There is many cases like mine being reported almost daily onto the Facebook group appropriately named “STAY AWAY FROM MONZO BANK” and there is even some in reputable newspapers’ websites. They have also caused me to miss work, because without a car I cannot do my job as a community and young person support worker, this is as far as I’m aware a very unfortunate mistake on their end, but that is not very consoling to me as I’m walking home trying to figure out what I’m going to eat when I get back in the very many hours I have left of this walk. So, in my opinion, go with any different bank, surely no other bank would put you in a situation even remotely close to the one I’m in. -K.Version: 5.42.0

Awful bank, don’t know how it’s highly ratedI’ve had a monzo account before years ago, then it got closed unexpectedly (to which they didn’t explain why). I’ve tried setting a new one up again for using money whilst travelling abroad and I’ve been met with a message after going through the setup process with a screen that read ‘we can’t open an account for you’. I’ve never been a victim of fraud, never been in an overdraft or debt. Quite how they are rated so highly I will never know, and there seem to be a lot of other reviews from other users with similar experiences. Warning! Don’t use Monzo as primary bankMy account was frozen with Monzo after I tried to make a legitimate payment online and they thought it was fraud. They froze my account and I have no access at all to my funds, I needed money to get to work and buy food and have not been able to. This has been the most awful experience, all you get is robot messages in their chat and they tell you the fraud team is busy and it will take time. A warning to anyone that is thinking of using Monzo as their primary bank, DO NOT. You do not get to talk to a human when something goes wrong and you will literally be cut off from your own money leaving you stranded. I have learnt a hard lesson here and will be moving to a high street bank where my money is safer. It is now day 2 and I still have no access to my money and am basically left stranded. Great and then notI have been using Monzo for nearly 4 years. I absolutely loved it to start with and made moving to the UK very easy in regards to opening a bank account. But when it came to moving home to NZ I started having trouble transferring money back and even between Monzo accounts. I raised the issue with Monzo and they decided to close my account with no warning or explanation. Now they want a non Monzo account (which I don’t have) to transfer my money to. Updated interface is horrible and confusingMonzo used to be so easy to use but with the new layout they screwed everything up. Simple things like withdrawing money from the savings pot used to be just a click away and now it’s buried deep in so many clicks and menus that you have no choice but to ask for help. Doesn’t recognise my addressI couldn’t sign up at all - the app doesn’t have my address on its list of allowed residential addresses. When I emailed support with evidence it’s residential, a week later I got an automated email saying I can’t be offered an account. Sorry, Monzo, but I can't take any more risks with my money.I started using Monzo's personal account and found it impressive for the first two weeks. But things took a turn when I tried setting up a joint account to rent a new property with my wife. When I transferred a large sum to pay the letting agent, Monzo blocked the transaction for security reasons. That's fair enough, but what followed was a frustrating experience. The fraud prevention team called me, and I was amazed by their security verification feature in the app. I provided all the necessary details, emphasizing that the letting agency was genuine. However, even after hours of waiting and sending requested documents, my account remained locked. I couldn't access the funds to pay the letting agent, who was getting impatient. What made matters worse was Monzo's customer service. The long wait times and poor communication skills of the agents were frustrating. It seemed like they struggled to understand English and lacked proper training. After numerous calls and follow-ups, my account was finally unlocked. But by then, my confidence in Monzo had plummeted. I couldn't trust them to handle future transactions smoothly. Despite Monzo's cool app features, the hassle and stress I faced made me decide to close my account and stick with my old bank for joint accounts. Great App - horrendous customer service thoughThe app is great once you have an account, but until then its impossible to speak to them. The customer service approach is dire beyond belief. You are forced to use email or the chat service but thats faced unfortunately by staff that don't know what they’re doing especially as it relates to business banking. Either that or they simply do not care about new business accounts. Multiple emails were sent with questions and pleads for help but all you get back are templated cut and paste responses with complete disregard to the questions asked. Try and chat to them on the chat app and you get handed off to multiple individuals with none of them bothering to read the previous thread history to understand whats been discussed to date so you end up repeating yourself. Not sending me an email linkHad my Monzo account since mid 2020. Yesterday, Tuesday 05 Sep 2023, the Monzo app stopped working. Whatever I do, the Monzo app will no longer email me me a magic login link. Deleted and reinstalled Monzo app numerous times. Reset my 2017 iPad, including my network settings. Checked my spam folder. My email account is working fine. As is my iPad. But Monzo is broken. Emailed Monzo help 24 hours ago. No reply. Emailed all my details including photo ID. No response. Horrible app - AvoidSuddenly started asking for my card PIN when logging in and locked me out for no reason (claiming I entered it wrong three times) even though I entered it entirely correctly. Awful bankAt first Monzo was really good and adhd friendly due to the pots and colours. They have a generally friendly tone in customer service. However. They have started to remove customers who do not make a lot of money. I earn just enough and despite being a loyal customer and Monzo plus member (paying them £5 a month for m more colours and making my own categories for expenditures) they have refused me for a business account many times, without any explanation. I am a start up business trying to get everything sorted out - I am 25 years old and still figuring things out. Without any explanation due to, they closed my account with two months notice. Upon researching I found that they get rid of customers who are not bringing in a large salary every year. I am a student and trying to rub my own business. I have struggled with my credit score at points in time and I believe this may be another factor. I’m wondering why this happened, was it the fact that I am paying my parents rent from my account and they do not like to see a lot of money transfers? Paying for my brothers clubs? Great bank that is gradually getting worse.I’ve loved Monzo and have been using it as my main bank account since my Beta account became a current account for it’s amazing instant transactions, ease of use with friends, customer support chat, and great international rates while feeling like quite a real bank. However, as time goes on I have seen Monzo evolve to include ridiculous offers of the premium service which really doesn’t feel like you’re getting anything good for the money with incredibly low interest offering, features that you can get for free elsewhere, and ‘exclusive deals’ that feel like Monzo were paid to include and are definitely far from exclusive to Monzo premium. With premium it also makes the general current account feel very cheap as the app constantly reminding you to go premium, especially with the year in Monzo review. It is very off putting. On top of this, Monzo bringing in limited free card replacements (or none and limited cash withdrawals of you don’t meet a certain criteria) makes Monzo a bank I really no longer can recommend (after convincing 15-20 people to join). This is the only notable bank I know which charge for card replacements, and charges for cash deposits. Now I can only recommend, and am even considering switching to either Starling Bank, which hasn’t got any of these issues mentioned, or to just opt for a high street bank which I would have never thought to recommend..Version: 3.64.0

Unable to offer accountUseless to me. I recently attempted to set up an account on arriving in the UK after moving from Australia. At the end of the application I was notified within seconds that Monzo would not be able to offer me an account with no explanation. No way to contact helpMy wife and I moved to the UK. Someone recommended Monzo because getting a bank account here is difficult for immigrants. So we did. Wife got her card but I’m still waiting as it’s late. No way to contact Monzo in the app because it just lets me see an activate card page. Guess I can’t get paid now because Monzo won’t let you have a joint account without a personal one. We are trying to create a Barclays account instead but their earliest appointments are weeks out. Poor.My card had become reviewed after I’d sold items for my business and received payment- I was confused but wasn’t upset over this fact and was expecting it to be sorted in about a week, however it’s far exceeded that and i’ve been waiting with little to no progress so far and have just been told that i might have to wait 15 days to 8 weeks. If i had other cards i would still be frustrated but as a 17 year old with no real need of having multiple cards you can understand my anger of this, quite literally refraining myself from speaking truthfully as well. The reviewal of my account can be understood but the unnecessary lengths of time they’ve taken is displeasing. The downside of monzo online banking is definitely the lack of effort the customer ‘support’ team provide. Not a bank for the peopleI have been a Monzo customer for around 3 years. I have a current account and a business account but I’m waiting to switch account now. I do refunds really rarely. I think this was my second or even first…my daughter who is 10 sneaked onto my phone and banking and accessed my account and done some subscription. I was unable to contact the merchant as I didn’t make this subscription and Monzo refused to do a refund. I done work for them and went on to the merchant website when I found out what it was and came to find they offer 30 days refunds for the yearly subscription and it was the first day. I asked Monzo to contact them and cancel it as I was unable to do so due to not having any account details. They refused to help despite it not being me who subscribed and thereafter they would rather charge me than return to the merchant and point their 30 day refund policy out. I’m done this bank is not a good bank everybody thinks it is because of the 1 day early payment. Hardly see the point. This is a business not a bank for the people..Version: 5.57.0

Lost the edgeI loved Monzo when it was new and pushing the boundaries. I moved my accounts over fully and didn’t look back. Lately (past couple of years) though things have not been so shiny. Categories don’t get remembered. Eg I pay wages from my business account and it never remembers they are wages category. Oh. And despite scheduling my wages payment from Monzo to Monzo I never get paid a day early. So. I have not be on Monzo to benefit from this? Huh. It used to I can’t see how much is due to go out tomorrow. It totals each day’s spending but not the known immediate future spending. And now the new Home Screen. Forced on an audience that didn’t ask for it. Why blend all activity? If we wanted that we wouldn’t have split it out into separate accounts and pots. Run awayI opened Monzo year ago after reading lots of reviews. Used it as normal bank to pay for shopping, receiving and sending money to/from friends and family occasionally selling something on fb. Few months later got my account frozen as they wanted to do some checks. They asked some questions about one transaction I explained. Few days later they decided to close my account. Ok, fine. Another month later my Halifax bank rang me saying that they are closing my account because Monzo put a cifas marker on me! It turned out that person who they were asking about made a chargeback saying he didn’t receive goods he wanted despite I provided the proof that person received what he wanted. Without proper investigation they just decided to do that! I complained to Monzo sending all documents again. They removed marker and gave me 200 pounds compensation, but it was 3 worsests months in my live as you can not open any other account if you have cifas marker on your name. Don’t Bank with MonzoI Banked with Monzo for about 3-4 years they gave me an overdraft and a Monzo Flex card (credit card) I was pretty happy with them until I recently bought a car and had a few bank transfers paid into and out of my account a few days later they decided without reasoning or warning or questioning they would close both my accounts I didn’t do anything dodgy nor was their any fraudulent behaviour on my accounts, if they asked for proof of the payments that may have caused suspicion I would’ve provided it to them but they instead emailed me telling me that they’ve closed my accounts and they can’t provide any reasoning to why they’ve done so, leaving me to change all my direct debits, standing orders and subscription payment methods, I thought I had a reliable relationship with the bank due to the duration of banking and features given to me but no they completely untrustworthy and can turn on you at any given moment without reasoning. UnreliableI’ve been with Monzo for several years now and while I generally find the app to be good and feature wise, ahead of the curve compared to the big banks, it’s just not reliable enough. There have been several occasions where the app has just stopped working for no apparent reason, requiring a complete reinstall to get working again. Today was the worst yet. I have just endured through a panic stricken 15 minutes trying to withdraw money from a savings account only to be repeatedly presented with “time-out” messages, and similar error messages in other parts of the app. Absolutely nothing in the app was working at all, not even the help section, so it was impossible for me to contact support. Logging out caused the app to crash and I was then unable to log back in. Alternative methods of contact are not shown anywhere and the help section on the website is useless, blaming my internet connection or email account (which are both working perfectly). Deleting the app and reinstalling it fixed the issue but I would not have known to do this, and would have had no way to find out, had I not been previously told to do so last time something went wrong. I’m going to switch I think, once I’ve emptied my savings account. Can't add to second apple pay wallet? Logs out other devicesI originally downloaded this onto my ipad to save space on my phone (200+MB) but later learned that ipad has a separate apple pay wallet so adding there doesn't put the card on my phone wallet. So I deleted that and installed on the iphone but now every time I click to add to apple pay it briefly shows an error message and then goes back to the screen before I clicked to add. Meanwhile it logged me out of the ipad and I have to log back in there too try to add back to ipad wallet. But can't add to ipad wallet either. Like the option has been removed after one use. Good bank butBeen with Monzo for 6 years now, their app up until the last big change was amazing and so user friendly. Now it’s a mess, to access pots easily you have to add them above your account, it was much easier to have them to the main menue like they used to be. With left to spend, it was perfect where it was, right bellow your account balance… Changing your reset date is a game of hide and seek. In their help me option, the first suggestion is how to reset it, so maybe it’s a sign that this feature is more difficult to find that it should be. Overall the bank itself is very good, I just think that their app has gone way too far and became much less user friendly than what it was, my dad who's 60 now can’t work it out and rather go back to is old bank..Version: 5.69.0

Avoid. Awful serviceI signed up for an account, and they sent my card to the wrong address. That’s where it all went downhill. Where most banks would have someone you could speak with quickly to update and re-send, they don’t have that option. You need to use the app’s chat function. It took 3 days for someone to respond to my initial message, but apparently the issue was too difficult for that agent, so they needed a “specialist” to get involved. More than two weeks later waiting for someone to get back to me and multiple “we’re so sorry, we guarantee a specialist will get back to you ASAP,” I asked them to close my account. They assured me again it would be resolved quickly, but there was nothing they could do in the meantime. After 3 weeks from my application, I received an email from someone called Eugene telling me that not only did they close my account, but I will never be allowed to open an account with them again? Post code not foundAs part of the App a person needs to supply your post code. I have supplied my valid legit post code but the App keeps on saying that the post code does not exist and that I need to contact Royal Mail and tell them my post code does not exist. Worst company, think before trusting with your moneyI’ve been a Monzo customer quite happily for a good few years, when a current account was offered I slowly migrated all my finances to the app, salary, direct debits, mortgage outgoings and every day spending. I paid for the plus service and used their flex offering, then last week out of the blue, I get an email we are closing your account, I thought a mistake surely, someone has clicked a wrong button, or Monzo have been hacked or something. Anyway instantly my card was cancelled, my money was frozen , my direct debits weren’t getting paid, my mobile was blocked from getting through to customer support and I was getting canned messages from the chat operatives. Top it off I would have to supply a new bank account reference and wait 2-4 weeks to get my money back. They wont tell you why, but apparently they can behave in this way because it’s in their terms and conditions. Declined account, still getting advertsI considered 2 stars only because the interface was overall nice to use and the application process was smooth. However after being declined an account for no reason, with the inability to ever apply again, this company is ridiculous. Loyal customer, bad experienceI’ve been with Monzo for several years, I’ve found the app reliable and it has helped me to manage money and save. HOWEVER… I recently have had my card stolen and several charges made to it without my consent. I had the card blocked within a few hours(as soon as I saw the purchases), which was very useful. But I’ve been on with their support team for five days… I’ve spoken to 11 different people, they are asking me questions, but either not reading my messages or severely misunderstanding them. Closing my account for no reasonSo, before I give out the reason why I’ve gave it 2 stars, I would first like to say this bank was really good and helped me out with day to day life. However, not just only me but a lot of other people accounts are being closed down without an explanation which is weird. Limited address locatorWhen you signup with Monzo app it asks for your address, and unlike others they don’t provide a way to enter but a lookup functionality. The problem that this lookup is limited and doesn’t seem to know new buildings, as our building is just 4 years old and they have a wrong information about it. I was hoping that after the signup I would be able to correct the address manually, but it turns out that they don’t give access to the account until you activate the card. FraudI caution those who are thinking of banking with Monzo. First I tried for over a month to call the bank about fraud on my account. Their number outs on hold and then disconnects after a few minutes. Terrible Customer ResponseBeen with this bank now for over two months and although the app is fantastic the backup from customer service lets this bank down badly. Chat response is not live, your message gets put in a pool then (eventually) answered by random agents, with generic response’s. When once you reply, your message seems to be placed back in the pool and someone else picks up the message, then you have to start the conversation all over again? Im having issues with my steel card, it’s too thick to use in some ATMs. (Partners card ok in same ATM) As a premium account holder, you can order or replace a card twice in a year, after much messaging with various agents although it’s the card at fault was offered a plastic card not steel instead? You would think I was asking for a 18c gold card replacement, come on guys! As well as these instances I’ve had various issues and again I’m met with genetic responses from agents who just don’t read the message I send them, if you’re looking for a service that meets the function of the app be warned!.Version: 4.45.0
