✓ Great modeling and playability!This program has great string and resonance modeling, "expensive" for an app, (if you get the IAPs), but still pretty cheap for other instruments and desktop instruments. It takes full advantage of the touch pads' X,Y and pressure (or touch radius on non -iPad Pros). It's therefore very instrumenty, turning gestures into subtly synthesized audio in a way that even professionally playing on keys cannot describe..Version: 1.2.0
✓ Unique!This app enables some unique artuculations that would be impossible to achieve by other means. A couple of suggestions - I find it difficult to add vibrato so an auto-vibrato mode would be useful (with delay), and some string ensemble sounds would also be awesome. But a great app as is and worth getting if you want realistic and original string sounds, will reward practice!.Version: 1.2.0
✓ It's unbelievable.I was a skeptical at first, but am truly amazed. The way the notes respond to various changes in position, bow pressure and speed, it is mesmerizing. With just a little practice I was able to play a reasonably nice melody-- and it is easy to imagine ways this could be used to create expressive parts for many types of projects. ✓ Great appIf you are looking to simulate an isolated violin performance, this can’t be beat. Playing it to sound like a fiddle (playing adjacent open strings) is challenging, but nothing is perfect. The developer is very responsive and enthusiastic about his creation. Well worth the money..Version: 1.2.0
✓ Mind. Blown.This is fantastic. I will be re-recording some parts in my musical projects using this. Kudos to the devs for such a musical and intuitive UI. Very inspirational. I wish I could keep it to myself, but it deserves recognition. Trills work. Not sure about open-string harmonics but it sounds like you can get them with careful bow technique. Practice is rewarded. ✓ Very cool!I don't have any idea how to play a bowed instrument, but this makes me want to get the fiddle I have repaired and start! It's an interesting app with great sound! Amazing thought has gone into this app. Very real sounding! Nice work! Of course someone who really plays bowed instruments will find it less than, but it's really is a charmer. ✓ Superb sound and ArticulationsThis is the kind of music app the ipad is made for. Takes full advantage of the touch interface to provide a level of playability and expression that would be impossible to replicate on a vst instrument. The Cello is very expressive allowing articulations based on strength of bow (based on finger surface area), distance from bridge (based on location of touch) and even the ability to add vibrato and even pluck strings soft (slow swipe) or hard (faster swipe of strings). With the addition of Audiobus/IAA I suspect this will take the prize for the most expressive and realistic Strings on ios..Version: 1.0.1
✓ Absolutely phenomenalNever have my ears heard such a realistic soft synth. This rivals desktop string sample libraries in sound quality and I have never would have expected this out of the iPad. ✓ Got me out of a creative rutI got this on impulse after seeing it on synthtipia. I'm honestly blown away. I spent all night last night playing it, and all day this morning recording it through some effects (reverb with some modulation). It does everything you can think of, and sounds amazingly real. ✓ A must for every composer.Every composer should have this in their arsenal. I keep going back to this app again and again. It is so expressive and is a great example of how great the iPad interface can be as super tactile hands on performance tool. This makes me think about music differently and thus lets me create something unique. The way you play it forces you out of your usual musical tropes and that can be a real asset when you’ve been staring a computer screen for hours waiting for inspiration but nothing is coming out.Version: 1.2.0

✓ Easily the best strings appThis is by far the most realistic, expressive and enjoyable violin/cello app I’ve used so far, and I’ve tried pretty much every other app that tries to do this. The expressiveness is far, far beyond what any other controller gives you, especially with 3D Touch, the bends are some of the most natural I’ve experienced, and feel exactly how I’d want them to feel on a physical instrument, and the sounds are amazing (especially the warm, smooth Viola). I am truly blown away. My only request is please, PLEASE add Apple Pencil 2 pressure support for the bow force to mimic 3D Touch on the iPad, it would be amazing to have this same expressiveness on the larger device..Version: 1.2.0
✓ Simply Smashing!!!If the virtual stringed instrument industry is a competitive market, then developers beware! ‘Finger Fiddle’ has cornered the market FOR SURE! With a dynamic range of harmonic overtones FF is the closest thing to that beautiful cello or mournful viola solo this side of hiring YoYo Ma that you could ever hope to get. I’ve attempted to recreate these sounds in my studio via soundfonts, samples, and various VSTs for years. None of them comes even close to FF. Not in tonal quality. Not in depth of realism, and especially, and most refreshingly, not in price. If you’re a serious producer, musician, or even just someone curious to learn or play. I can’t thank the developers enough for this. And, my only feedback for the future would be to diversify into more instruments. Guitars, lap steels, mandolin, resonators, ukulele... even woodwinds, brass and percussion. I’d buy every app on its public release date! ✓ Close as you can getAs I cellist I have to say this is not quite the same thing - but it’s as close as you can possibly get with a touch interface, and the range of expression is superb. This is not quite a stringed instrument - but it’s close enough to do almost everything. ✓ Hyper-realistic string quartetRealism and control of various string instruments in FF is amazing. Integrating the strings into a DAW workflow is easy and fast, and the file size is small. This is great for anyone who’d like to have strings in their compositions. If you are a budding arranger, this will help you to write parts for real string players that are abundantly playable. It gives you such a useful experience of the real instrument. It will also be great for recording. Astonishing that this doesn’t seem to use audio samples as such. ✓ Pleasantly SuprisedI love this app. I’ve been on a quest for the perfect cello app. I bought iSymphonic which sounds phenomenal but doesn’t give you much control. Garageband has great string sounds and lots of options but again, you’re not actually playing cello. I almost bought one to learn on! I gotta say tho, this cheap little app has some promise. Once you get the hang of it, it starts feeling like a real cello. If anyone has any other cool cello/orchestral apps, let me know..Version: 1.3

✓ Immediately Impressive synthesizerI've only spent a short time with this synth so far, but I think it is exactly what I've been waiting for in physically modeled string synthesis. FingerFiddle is way more playable than comparable Reaktor ensembles played via keys and modwheel. It might also sound better than the bowed string Reaktor ensembles I've tried, though the expressiveness really has a lot to do with the resulting sound. FingerFiddle is the most expressive soft synth I've used so far (due to the touch interface). Maybe Reaktor with a good iPad-OSC setup can compare, but why go through the configuration trouble when FingerFiddle is just instantly playable? The only thing missing is something I don't know how to ask for: being able to record the performance data into a DAW as MIDI, and play back the performance to a synth via MIDI. No instrument plugin or Reaktor ensemble is likely to have exactly the same modeling parameters as any other. It seems this is where we must perform and record audio... just like with the traditional instrument FingerFiddle models..Version: 1.2.0
✓ Enthralling...♥️🎶🎻🎸🎶Been testing the audio in my jamup app channels with my new guitar interface and recorded the cello and my virtual Stratocaster playing solo guitar. The two sit so well together in harmonics that I’m thinking of using the cello too in my songwriting of something I’m making. I have a real live Stratocaster too but haven’t recorded it yet with the new interface but sure will and I think it’ll also sound good with the cello.
