✓ Simply greatI was not a big fan of the original. But, this new and improved version works very well on a newer iPad. Lots of synth history in your hands for not much money! Can we have a sizeable keyboard though. And a scroll function for the control area. As some of it is hidden and inaccessible when the keyboard is at full size. ✓ Wow, I love itI got it more for the range of real instrument sounds such as piano and orchestral I'm pleased with how they sound. Really needs a master output volume as some presets are too low to be heard once you've got a backing track going and you just want to jam along. ✓ ImpressedHaving used the original M1 I was dubious just how close Korg could get with an app version. No need to have worried, like all the other Korg apps I have, it really is one of my go too apps. Another reviewer said the interface does sort of put you off tweaking, but once you start fiddling it really is simple. My one gripe, though minor, is the output seems very low to me compared to other apps. That is something I can live with, but maybe a tweak in the next update?.Version: 1.0.4
✓ Awesome Korg M1 on steroids!Are use it Korg M1 keyboard in the past. This software version sounds are very close to original my M1. Still have a Korg M1 ex (module). I couldn't tell where the difference between hardware and software and the quality iOS app sound's. I don't simply treat it as a sampler but a Linear Arithmetic and DWGS synth that can have sounds layered and split in different ways! I also find the presets and samples interesting because of their "Japanese" sound. It is also one of the few Multi-Timbral apps. ✓ My Go-to Synth on iOSLike many others, I have bought quite a few iOS synths. They are like jellybeans, it’s tough to stop at one. Unlike a number of other synths though, this is the synth I choose for quick renderings of ideas, or a fast patch that fills a mood. It is simple enough that I can edit and change patches relatively quickly, but versatile and rich enough to fill many needs. I will say that it doesn’t have the punch and power of the best iOS analog emulations, so you may want to add those for your muscular synth sounds. Also, many sounds are very similar to those produced by iWavestation. The difference is that iWS followed this synth and is more complex but adds greater animation to the sounds. It’s not as easy to use and program but was the next generation product (though still 25 years old). I have both products by Korg. They are well-rendered and sound amazing. Add a ballsy analog synth and you are pretty close to having it all..Version: 1.0.6

✓ Reliving the 80sI love this app. Google iM1 Program Change and Audio Bus 3 and you can get a list of the bank and program numbers so that you can select patches from a midi controller or other program. Hope they make this into an Audio Unit. That would be awesome..Version: 1.0.6

✓ Fantastic!I have been a big fan of the Korg sound since the '90's and have currently been reliving those times through the iMS-20 and iPolysix. Now the Korg iM1 is simply superb. The authentic Workstation sounds are recreated beautifully. The extra soundcards provide an unbelievable expansion and are must-haves. If you're interested in synth music and keyboard playing, you should really get this. In my opinion, the Korg iM1 is the best synth app out there. Five Stars..Version: 1.0.3

✓ Inspiring and a delight to useI have found the IOS version of the M1 very easy to use and more intuitive than the desktop version since it makes good use of the touch screen environment. I have this running as an Inter-App within Cubase and have achieved some satisfying results using a variety of different sounds. I have also found it very easy to edit the sounds and FX to make them your own. The additional sound cards were worth buying and the Korg M1 has a sonic character that can still stand out today..Version: 1.0.2

✓ Awesome iM1 soundsI have absolutely no complaints at all with this app, In Multi-mode, the iM1 for iPad can be used as an eight-part multi-timbral sound module, so there is no need for AUv3 here, saving presets is also easy. Before I launch my DAW (Cubasis 3), I first launch iM1 (and any other IAA synths I may be using) and leave them running in the background, this way I don’t suffer audio disconnects with my DAW, the same goes for the awesome iWavestation..Version: 1.0.9

✓ Great for live performance!I am a live performer, who was looking for a synth app that I could play with my MIDI foot controller while playing bass guitar at gigs. I had downloaded three other synth apps before this, and they were disappointing because their interfaces were horrible, and they didn't do what I needed them to do. I was about to give up on using my iPad live, and was considering using my foot controller with a full-size synth instead. I downloaded the Korg iM1 app on a desperate last-attempt whim, completely expecting to be as let down as I was from the other apps. Was I pleasantly surprised! Not only did this app give me superb, easy control over sound shaping, layering, filters, effects and envelope generator, but also a highly configurable and easy-to-use MIDI interface. The app also allowed me to do some things live that I didn't think I would be able to do with my feet. (I needed to slowly raise and lower pitch in two of our songs, which I was able to program into the envelope generator, and map to custom key zones so I could isolate that effect to specific keys). The control this app gives you over MIDI configuration is great, and the sounds are rich and powerful. There is also a great interface for storing and loading your sounds. I pre-program chords into my Keith McMillen 12-step MIDI foot controller keys, and the chords play beautifully from the Korg app through the PA. I use the iM1 at every gig now, and it's such a comfort seeing it on my iPad screen as I'm about to begin a set. I highly recommend this app..Version: 1.0.4
✓ KORG AUV3???M1, Has some great sounds, but it's about time it was updated to AUv3. I personally would not update this as I'm running iOS 12.3 And don't want to experience any issues with it. Come on KORG catch up with AUv3...... Then I'll give you 5 stars and rewrite my review until then I'm not updating just because it now works with iOS 13... Who cares, it is a work of Art.For me, a couple of "pure" synths were 2 of the the 2014 Stars of iOS: Mitosynth, Photophore...another Korg Monster, Gadget, and the stunning FX suite, Flux were high up there last season... Cut to 2015. iM1 may well use some dated old sounds, but on my iPad, it sparkles not only as one of the most beautiful sounding Apps I own, but maybe the most stunning visual design in the history of the platform. ✓ Great but need Auv3 version for Logic Pro iPadAs the title says. When I was a younger person back when the M1 first came out, all of my favorite RnB groups and producers were using the M1. The sound was incredible. But I couldn’t afford it. Now those same beautiful sounds are still great, but infinitely more affordable. The only issue I have, and this isn’t Korg’s fault, is that Logic Pro for iPad came out and it doesn’t work with this product. ✓ Superb soft-synthI'm afraid I'm no expert on the original IM-1 synth. What I can say is that this software is a joy to use. I love the sounds - there's a certain amount of repetition but no more than you'd expect on any device with a large sound bank- and regularly use them as sources of inspiration when noodling. Pick a random sound, see what ideas come ... I also find this synth pretty easy to program. Lots of synths are quite opaque when you start to learn to use them, it's hard to get results and when you do, you don't always know how you've done it. With this App, I can set out to create a sound with a reasonable expectation of actually getting there in less than a human lifetime. I own a lot of synth apps but this one has been pretty much my favourite since the day I bought it..Version: 1.0.4
✓ Fantastic Sounds - Tricky UIUsed this as an additional sound module with my Nord Electro 5. Amazing powerful sounds but a wee bit tricky to navigate in a live situation. Programmes can be edited in great depth and detail however, I'm still trying to understand how to save edited programmes and combi's. What can i say, ok the only dissapointing thing about this was having to upgrade to iOS 8, clearly that is going to loose korg some money along with customers. Ive oddly had zero issues taking my 4th gen pad from 7. to 8.3 (even my IO Dock still works) that was a shock, but i just had to have this synth so i took the risk. Anyway the korg is fantastic and it takes me home to a time when movie scores and pop music had a few little things in common such as the M1. Ive seen a lot of negative comments around the net about it has nothing new (it does) i have also read a lot of people saying it sounds dated (its a recreation of a 1988 synth) Just what where they looking for or expecting? ✓ Amazing Synthesizer - still room for improvement: AU needed!We had an M1 in my school, so this this app brings back memories to me. The iM1 app offers the amazing sound and similar configuration options as the original. In particular: using combinations of sampled instruments; adding and controlling modulators to change the sound; assigning regions of the keyboard to different instruments/patches; and controlling instrument/patches by defining key pressure (initial and in some cases polyphonic aftertouch). Pressure thresholds can also be set to trigger instruments, e.g. adding or changing instruments when playing “louder” or “softer”. What is still dearly needed is an implementation of this app as an AUv3 plugin to make this great virtual instrument accessible to apps for music production such as garage band..Version: 1.0.10

✓ AUV3 PLEASE!!The M1 workstation was and remains one of my favorite platforms. Lately, I’ve been trending to a lot of my music on iOS. It’s just way more convenient to bring one, or even two iPads vs trying to arrange the perfect set of keys layouts. Especially for me since I play several other instruments and often need to bring these to live performances. I have no problem paying $40 for this particular app given the amount of power, but the lack of AUV3 support is a huge detriment. There are free synths out there like King of FM that inter operate with AU hosts and this is a game changer. With the power of the M1 sound library, I find I don’t use this app much if at all any more and it makes me sad. Please Korg we beg you - make this AUV3 compatible! For those of us that have paid for this (I bought it when it first came out) and for those that yet haven’t - I guarantee that this extension would tap into unrealized revenue for Korg..Version: 1.0.10

✓ Great sounding SynthI bought the iM1 today It was half-price off and I bought the two additional cards. Great sounding presets but the regular piano presets sound like a electric pianos even the grand piano sounds like a electric piano. It says a gigantic library encompassing 3,300 sounds well that’s incorrect and it’s way off, could be a typo. I added up all the cards except for the Library cards and the user cards and I came up with 1,569 different presets..Version: 1.0.7
