KORG iMono/Poly for Positive User Reviews

Korg is wonderful!Big hug!.Version: 1.2.4

Most versatile synth in GadgetBrilliant fun, very powerful as a standalone synth and takes Gadget to another level entirely. Factory Bank B is an essential purchase, great sounds straight away..Version: 1.2.1

Monopoly skin?Oh ... mono poly ... i geddit .. Sounds good, bit different to Polysix, which i know better having had one.. ... Why "dirtyfy" the buttons/panel, etc? Thought my screen was dirty at first.. "Immaculate" option please....Version: 1.2.4

PhenomenalGreat Synthesizer that works with multiple DAW’s on mobile which is what I’m looking for a little bummed out it doesn’t work on FL Studio Mobile but hey it works” gadget nd GarageBand and that’s. Good enough for right now.Version: 1.1.1

Great synth appThis is my favorite iOS synth. As close to a real MonoPoly as I’ll ever get. I only wish the output wasn’t so low. It’s significantly quieter than all of my other synth/production apps even when cranked up to max volume..Version: 1.2.4

Simply stunningKorg know just how to hit the right spot with their music apps. This one sounds amazing and is such a pleasure to play and tweak. It comes fully loaded and works great inside their Gadget app. I just ran four instance of this inside Gadget and created a knew epic synth. Even better - sample it in Beatmaker 3 and create your own instruments. Awesome 😊.Version: 1.0.0

Must HaveEasily one of the best sounding synths available on iOS . . . and one of the most versatile. Thank you, Korg..Version: 1.0.0

Sorry for the long review, nostalgia is getting the better of me :)My original is in need of a thorough de-oxit and some general TLC, currently looking rather jealous of this young doppelgänger. It's a wonderful idiosyncratic machine and I'm really glad for the love and attention it's been getting recently; the Mono/Poly in general that is - my own specimen is in need of some revival as I mentioned. I'm not going to cry over the failure to recreate the 'auto-damp' functionality, although I have occasionally found somewhat interesting uses for it over the years. Apart from CV input (obviously not possible), I don't think there's anything else missing. Really great job on this; the filter especially is as good as any I can remember hearing in a softsynth, and seems very faithful to the original. Love that pure self-oscillation (as well as the soft thick sounds and everything in-between). Nice envelopes, oscillators and the rest too. All seems pretty authentic while adding 'ordinary' polyphony / unison, tempo-synced LFOs and lots of 'virtual patch' modulation options that open up a lot of more modern expressive sound-design possibilities, especially with the option to assign velocity/pitch/pressure to things (I wonder if they'd consider adding MPE support, not that I actually have any hardware for that at the moment). I do wish it worked as an AU. I can't help but feel KORG deliberately avoid supporting that to encourage people to use Gadget. I guess I'm going to need to buy the non-iPad version anyway at some point (for some reason didn't get 'round to it during the last sale). But it's great in app form. Only other criticism I guess is that the effects could be better..Version: 1.0.0

Thanks for adding midi!!Awesome, please update other apps for midi learn!.Version: 1.0.1

100 custom presets in one day. A little addicting!Love this and how easy it is to work on. Spent 2 four hour sessions to make 100 new presets by me. Get it while it's on sale, you won't be disappointed!.Version: 1.0.0

BeastLove love love this synth. Massive four vco monster delivers the goods. Arpeggiator could be a bit more expansive but otherwise no complaints..Version: 1.0.4

Good but where is latch button?Lovely sounds but when using in Korg gadget I can’t find a latch button for the ARP patches. Am I just being dumb or do these things only work in standalone mode? Help appreciated..Version: 1.2.6

Awesome synth!Another great sounding and feature-rich synth app from Korg. You also won't be disappointed by this one. I am glad i added this one to my Korg collection of iOS synths. They all sound great and all so very unique. This is another instant classic. MIDI learn was added in the last update which i had been hoping for. So i upgraded my previous 4 star rating to a full five stars. Thanks Korg!.Version: 1.0.0

Disappointed by lack of AUv3 supportKorg’s iMono/Poly is the virtual synth I’m enjoying the most at the moment, but the lack of AUv3 support keeps me from using it. With Moog’s Model D app, I can have three tracks in my DAW each with its own Model D instance and each Model D instance using a different patch. But with iMono/Poly, I can only have one instance of it. So, for composition, I have to use Model D instead and forego the features of iMono/Poly. Not to mention that not all DAWs work with IAA, and the ones that do still work better with AUv3. I’d even be happy to pay again for a separate AUv3 version of iMono/Poly..Version: 1.2.6

Please do the "Korg Prophecy" next!!!All of the Korg iOS apps are fantastic!!! now we need a Trinity, Triton and most of all the Prophecy! Keep em coming you guys are killing it on iOS! 😃.Version: 1.1.1

Phenomenal sound. MIDI learn, please.Getting all my spare time attention right now. WOW! This is what it sounds like in my head when someone says "synthesizer". Great mod-matrix, but fiddly...needs MIDI learn, pretty please..Version: 1.0.0

11 Inch iPad Pro Support?Great synth, works in Gadget. Just wish it filled my 11 inch iPad screen in standalone mode..Version: 1.2.4

Thank youLoving this.Version: 1.0.0

Korg is making me poor.I think I've bought every Korg iPhone app when it was on sale. I've still spent too much on them. Every time I think I'm done and I'm sure I don't need the next one, they put out a new, great-sounding synth app and I LOSE MY MIND. The Mono/Poly is no exception. Sweet mercy, the sound of this app is out of control! It's just....I can't- please stop, Korg. I can't afford this level of sonic amazingness!.Version: 1.0.0

Awesome synthVery flexible, can be soft ambient, abstract noise to powerful 4 oscillator unison monster. It has an excellent effects section and it comes into its own with the virtual patch section where you have 8 slots to assign just about anything to anything else. Really great for sound design. The only small disappointment is that it does not include the arpeggiator in Gadget and using Gadgets one does not cycle through the oscillators like the original hardware and standalone version..Version: 1.2.1

A great appNow that the size of the app has been optimised, five stars from me..Version: 1.1.1

Fat chunky wonderful goodnessNeed I say more? Peace Christo.Version: 1.0.2

Dope AF. This is a great synth!Best synth released for Korg Gadget yet!.Version: 1.0.0

Please fit it to the larger iPhone screensStill people with large phones have so much wasted real estate..Version: 1.2.4

Best poly on App Store?I think so, but I wish Korg would play nice with the other devs and add AUv3. It’s the future of iOS music and, while I love gadget, they really should just add AU capability so I can easily incorporate it into other apps without having to painfully fix midi routing and pull up the right preset each time I load a project. ADD AUv3 or face the wrath of my downgraded review! It’s a 5 star synth, but I give Korg a 3/5 for their lack of respect for common good..Version: 1.1.2

Another HitYet another great recreation/port! It's fantastic inside Gadget, AND THE VIRTUAL PATCH BAY IS INCLUDED IN MONTPELLIER! I was SO happy to see it at the bottom of the effects page, as Lexington losing the arpeggiator was a bummer. There is one problem with the interface, however. Touching a control does not bring up its value, as in Gadget or the other synths. You need to move the control to see its value. Once this is fixed, it's another hit. Thanks for all the hard work devs!.Version: 1.0.1

4-5Almost perfect, but please add AU support and Link on stand alone. Keep up the great work..Version: 1.0.4

A good synth that could be greatIf it had the following features added: -The ability to store preset files on the device you’re using and store them on a flash drive. -Keyboard portamento to filter cutoff. -Double tap a knob to zero the parameter also a fine adjustment. -The ability to save the mod wheel position in the preset. -Scroll and lock keyboard to a key other than C at the beginning and end. -Put the octave switches on the left when using the large keyboard so the preset menu does not block them. -Key transpose for the arpeggiator. -An undo/redo feature. - A portamento on/off button. -Having the Arpeggio rate (MG 2) a mod destination. Add these to it and it will get five stars. Still, it’s a good little synth..Version: 1.2.6

Korg does it againReally impressed with each successive release by Korg. They seem to have this iOS thing well in hand. Love this app and it's great modulation possibilities. Some suggestions: Double tapping should return any dial control to 0. Allow right hand XY pad to be parameter assignable - I would like to use that side for effects. More extensive external MIDI controller support. Keep it up!.Version: 1.0.0

Attention TechSupport!!* UPDATE! Not tested the arpeg settings yet, but - Wahoo! can now see mono poly user programs in Gadget! It’s a tiny bit of a clunky way of doing by ‘Export’ but I’m not familiar with the internals of the app. I’m sure it will evolve to be a bit slicker. Great work team! Gone from 3* to 5* now. :) As a child of the 80s - I still can’t quite believe all this sound power is on an iPad for such little money. Thank you Korg! Original review > I LOVE the sound of this, and I think it’s the best sounding soft synth on my iPad HOWEVER - 2 big failings, I’ve found so far; 1) The patches sound different in Gadget. The Arpeggiator doesn’t seem to work as expected, for example. Also, they aren’t on the same patch numbers. Example Tuna Kan on iMono/Poly A089 - in Gadget it’s A090 and seems to have no clock signal. Even with the Gadget sequencer running, it does not sound the same. 2) You can’t see User Programmed sounds from iMono/Poly in Gadget - so this means you’re stuck with using stock sounds, or overwriting factory programs. What’s the point in having a User folder in Gadget Program bank if it can’t see the User programs you create in iMono/Poly. YES, there are loads of knobs to twiddle in Montpellier, but sometimes I’d like to program on the easy interface and then use those inside Gadget. Both of these problems are somewhat dealbreakers for me. KORG - please take note and fix ASAP. Thank you. 5* review is pending ......Version: 1.2.1

It’s a given......that I love it, it’s the Korg Mono/Poly. I held off on buying it because of the lack of midi learn from the get-go. but now the thing won’t do midi learn correctly: -i can only link the modulation wheel (cc01) to something first i thought it was some midi tx limitation from my controller (JD-Xi) ...yet... -within Gadget (Montipillar) I can assign any cc to anything. Anybody have any info they can share? Korg, acknowledge, I repeat, Korg acknowledge.Version: 1.0.1

Almost there...I already own a *lot* of synth apps, including most of Korgs, but this one I couldn't say no to...and I'm glad I didn't. Very inspirational to play and sounds really great. This would be 5 stars if I could access my user patches within Gadget's companion device Montpellier...hopefully a quick patch fixes this oversight... Would also be killer if I could have a mod destination for the VCO Mod Type...I love switching between these but would be great to put an LFO to that....Version: 1.0.0

The best- but the greatest would beAdding AU to this already go to app, My production increased by 1000 once I got this app, Can’t see myself making beats on any other app as much I do Gadget, I LOVE this app more than I can explain, It helped me produce like I want to, because I make beats fast, simply because I don’t produce by instrument choice, I produce by sound, it pattern sounds together no matter the instrument, and I’m great at it, thanks to the enormous amount of sounds gadget has, I’m in sound heaven.Version: 1.2.1

Decent but not as good as the real thingStill the best overall synth you can buy for Gadget, but having used the original hardware this summer….the sound just isn’t as good as the original, especially for basses. Korg should revisit this legendary synth with more attention to detail. Maybe it’s just the filter that needs updating (with a zero delay feedbcak filter)..Version: 1.2.6

Great sounding synth, Audio Unit neededThis is a great sounding synth. Audio Unit capability is need to take it into the future..Version: 1.2.6

Fav Legacy port"Finally".Version: 1.0.0

Needs Auv3 Support Please!Another great Korg app! Great sound quality. Highly recommend it..Version: 1.2.1

Excellent!I confess that the original Mono/Poly is easily in my top ten commercial synths of all time. Korg has done an outstanding job capturing the essence and vibe of that instrument. Not much else to say but thank you!.Version: 1.0.0

Great synth but no AU compatibility. Why create a great synth app, then handcuff it without the ability to use it in AUM?? Makes absolutely no sense to me..Version: 1.2.6

Phenomenal SoundingThis synth sounds amazing with headphones..Version: 1.1.2

Sounds amazing but no HPFThe synth has AMAZING features and sounds fantastic. But why oh why would Korg omit a highpass filter? other than that it's quite possibly the best digital synth Korg has ever made..Version: 1.1.2

One of my favorites, needs auv3All that’s missing from this synth is more expansion packs, and to be able to use it as an audio unit. This one of the best synths for iOS..Version: 1.2.1

Fantastic!Hopefully when gadget is updated with this it will work as a vst plug in like the arp oddessy. I use that in maschine and it works great!.Version: 1.0.1
