Meditation Studio for Negative User Reviews

Used to use this app all the time...I really loved this app for a long time. It helped me a lot throughout college, but it's not free anymore. I use this app significantly less now, as more and more of the meditations that I relied on are going behind the subscription pay wall. I'm finally writing this review now, because I'm actually going to officially give up on the app. I can't afford to get the subscription to this or any app, and I'm sure a lot of people are in the same boat. I guess this is turning more into a rant about accessibility of mental health apps. This truly is a great app, but the subscription ruins it..Version: 1.40.2

I paid for this app too 😡Why do I now have to subscribe and pay again?.Version: 1.9

Will not work on my Apple Watch.Have begun to take better care of myself so I decided to start using this app that I had downloaded a while ago. I also have a new Apple Watch so naturally I was trying to operate the app with it. Well no go. When I tried clicking on the Watch app and chose the selection I wanted to meditate by, I was greeted by my podcast selection instead with no apparent way to switch to the desired session..Version: 1.40.2

DisappointedI got offered a deal through a muse newsletter and bought a year subscription! But via the app from iTunes you get no access to all the mediations even though I bought a subscription. Stupid it’s only available half through the muse app, and it fails more then works. The mediations have no background music via the muse app. If you have a subscription you should have access to the studio app as well as muse. I’m not gonna spend another $50 to unlock on studio app as well as the muse app. These should be combined! This is more stressful than it needs to be! Poor roll out! As it is I’ve lost 2 years of data..Version: 1.23

Link to Muse Device? How do I use this with my headset? I have spent a lot of money on both the app and the headset but they do not seem to work together. This is creating frustration rather than relieving it. Make this more obvious or intuitive or lose business..Version: 1.26

Dumb & a halfWow! What a load of crap....Version: 1.10

Ripped offOne free course is not worth the $6 it cost to buy this app..Version: 1.4.0

That’s for taking my moneyI purchased this app to have full access to all meditations. Then later they choose to go to a subscription model and now even after restoring purchase, I don’t have access to most of the meditations. If I had known this, I would have purchase the app. Can a company really take your money and then decide sorry we’re not going to give you access. Maybe we should take this company to court, who’s with me..Version: 1.4.1

DisappointedBought this app and then turned into a subscription. Not great but it’s a business... and then restore purchases doesn’t work. So 1 star..Version: 1.40.2

Could use some polishI've used several meditation apps. This one has some nice features (I like being able to add certain meditations to my calendar as a reminder in doing a series, for example) but it bothers me that there's no chimes or other type of notification that the meditation you're using has ended. It simply goes silent. Perhaps this is meant to allow you space for continuing to meditate on your own but it had the opposite effect of making my mind start to wander in the direction of "Is he going to start talking again? When? Will it make me jump?" (And yes, I've had that happen!) I'd rather have the traditional chime or something that indicates the recording is done so I can then freely choose whether to continue on my own with no worries I'll be startled..Version: 1.3.2

Business model issues.... dishearteningI LOVED THIS APP... it was absolutely worth the money I initially paid. However the business model changed to prescription..... Now I feel like this is only for those who can afford the $50. This is how personal health becomes out of reach for lower income individuals. Yes, i am a legacy customer, yes I have access to all the old content, but I can no longer recommend this app because I don’t stand behind the price, it’s too high. I wish at the very least you could download the new meditations at an individual cost or something at least because having to stay stagnant with only the old content is quite frustrating when you see all the great new topics coming out. I understand it costs money to run this, I understand it’s a business, but the basis of the service is self care and it’s just very disheartening to see all these meditation apps pricing people without at much disposable income out of their apps..Version: 1.24.1

UnsureNot as impressed with this app as others seem to be. Perhaps I was asked for a review too soon..Version: 1.3

GoodI love the sessions but many of them are too short. Having to start another session after only a couple of minutes really breaks focus. If there was a way to create a playlist where the next session you added started automatically it would be better..Version: 1.3.3

🤦🏻‍♀️Crashes every time I press play!.Version: 1.24.1

DisappointmentDid not download. Big disappointment. No help from app or Apple.Version: 1.2

Ouch..Wish I could like the app but I didn’t know it was all audio sessions. I am deaf in real life, without subtitles this app is practically useless. Sorry for the one star Devs, I’m sure it’s great for some people..Version: 1.25

Subscriptions...I really liked everything about meditation studio. What I liked the most over other meditation apps was the fact that it was NOT a subscription service. For a one-time fee I had access to all the meditations. This factor alone led me to purchasing the app. I know I’m still a “legacy” user, but I’d rather pay one time for all access or purchase single meditations once and own them. I’m not paying for yet another subscription service. The fact that meditation studio is converting to this format is kind of depressing. In this era of lame subscription services where every business is trying to milk every customer for every last nickel meditation studio stood out. Now that they’ve joined that bandwagon it’s time to see what other meditation apps are out there..Version: 1.4.2

Great life skill and toolVery useful and such a great tool to start a meditation practice. My only quibble is the cost. I get being paid for what you do but for the average Joe (me) it’s too expensive and that is the only reason I’ve not given it 5 stars..Version: 1.31.1

DisappointedI used to use this app all the time when the all of the guided meditations were free. Very sad to see they are charging money now.....Version: 1.4.1

Meditations too fastI get that they're probably trying to keep meditations short for downloads but the shorter ones mean the narrator is rushing far faster than I can keep up, so it's neither relaxing nor am I actually getting any true benefit. The whole point of this stuff is you're NOT rushing. This app seemed really great otherwise..Version: 1.3.2

Switched to subscriptionI purchased this for 4.99$ when it was simply that price and included everything. Now they switched it to 49.99$ a year and removed all the content from past paying customers, not happy..Version: 1.17.1

Another lost money hungry appOnce again, the app developer promises the world. Sells you a subscription free app, then swiftly changes their tune to become money hungry. I bought this app, based on two things. Trust and promise, which were both advertised at the time of sale. The promise was broken that this has now become a subscription based app. Trust was broken as my money is more important that loyalty. Good riddance..Version: 1.4.1

Excellent App but disappointed with new pricing structureWhen I got this app, it was a one time purchase. That, along with the number and quality of the meditations, made this easily a 5 stars. Now it looks like they've gone the way of all other meditation apps adding subscription based pricing. That's unfortunate as I would be interested in purchasing new content. I'd be happy to buy the new courses that I want but I dislike the idea of the subscription based model that everything is going to these days. I like to own my purchases, not rent them. So therefore I'm giving this 3 stars for the legacy content..Version: 1.11

Calender hooked me...But whilst you can schedule, there are no indicators of daily success. I'd like to be able to see streaks and successes for this app to be perfect for me. The calender is also deeply flawed in my eyes because it should be independent. I definitely don't need meditation reminders touching my main calender. Keep them separate and have trackable success. It just looks SPAMMY to be all over my main calender, especially when you schedule everyday *forever*. Your important calender dates no longer stand out that way. Great guided meditations, though. Please improve this app, it has unfulfilled and easy potential..Version: 1.0.1
