Hero Emblems II for Negative User Reviews

Not as good as the originalHere’s the good news: the same fundamental gameplay that I loved about the first game is still present in the sequel. The bad news is: - The main game is buried under WAY too many added RPG mechanics. This is a match 3 game, people, not the new Witcher. It’s too complicated. - The puzzle board is harder to use; the icons aren’t distinct enough. - Everything on screen sort of pulsates and writhes the whole time. It’s weird and distracting. - You’re graded on completion time, which destroys any claim the game has of being “casual”. The first game was a charming little puzzler with some fun added RPG elements. With this one, it’s like they were embarrassed by the last one and tried to turn into a full-blown RPG. If I want that, I’ll replay DQ7..Version: 2.01

Mhe2Stick to the original..Version: 1.06

Bug五星和旁边的宝石无法转换.Version: 1.11

ConfusingTerrible UI - confusing gameplay - no explanation of how things work. What’s equipped- what isn’t - who knows? The company provides a terrible “walkthrough” which is someone just playing the game for an hour without any explanation..Version: 1.08

Really grindyFun for a while but it gets insanely grindy. A single boss fight might take hours as you chip away at its health one tiny sliver at a time..Version: 1.07

Please make a balanceThe Sea turtle with the forzen skill is just insane. There's no way you can solve the problem. You cannot substitute the team,The grid is also restricted, and there is no way to move it. It's a stupid design..Version: 1.04

Translation and fonts need a lot of work. The graphics, animations and music are great, but the translation and inconsistency of the fonts are so distractingly bad that the story barely makes sense. This sequel deserves better and I hope it gets updated..Version: 1.01

Fun game but so frustratingDecently fun game, but the complete lack of direction and instructions can make it a really frustrating experience..Version: 1.02

Good game, average to bad editingThe game suffers from a lot of Engrish - it’s not a problem in many other Match 3 games, but in a story RPG, I’d prefer to have translation/writing problems removed by quality control. It’s been a long time since the days of Breath of Fire 2 and its dubious handling of the English language. For as long as the game took, I had hoped for better..Version: 1.01

Grindy and unfairly difficultI’m disappointed. I love the first HE, but unlike the first iteration, HE2 is hard and pretty unfair at times. You will often get to a boss with two or three debuffs, and then get even more debuffs atop from the boss. It’s less of a 3-matching strategy game and more of debuff management. It’s tiresome, frustrating and quite frankly not fun..Version: 1.12

No regard for the player’s timeThis game has so much outdated crap. Random encounters of low level garbage, tons of grinding, random mechanics that you often can’t really work around. The publisher’s clearly are not at all hesitant to completely waste the player’s time..Version: 1.04

TouchscreenGame is only letting the touchscreen work on one side of the map can’t select quest to go to please fix and I will give 5 stars..Version: 1.03

Long AwaitedThe gameplay is a lot of fun. Been waiting for this for ages. Unfortunately the poor translation weights the whole things down. It seems like machine translation. Text is stiff and awkward and doesn’t sound natural at all. It takes a lot away from the experience. Sometimes it is even confusing, like when the mage refers to lightning as “fire from the sky”..Version: 1.01

Ruined by poor localization jobLet me start off by saying I loved the first Hero Emblems game. Seeing the sequel finally release after so many years in development was an amazing surprise. And honestly, aside from the random encounter rate being somewhat obnoxious, the gameplay is perfectly serviceable. ...but it's honestly difficult to get through the cutscenes when the translation is marred by incorrect grammar, weird word choice, and bad writing in general. I'd be perfectly content unlocking traits, getting better gear, and running around the map finding secret chests if not for the godawful story that fails to live up to its (cliched) potential. One of the characters in particular grates on my nerves but that's a matter of personal preference. With the new skip button added, you can enjoy the match-3 strategy and ignore the plot..Version: 1.06

Did you ever want to take sisyphus’s placeThe entire game is just trying to clear debuffs non stop. And it takes away 4+ emblem matches more and more the later in the game you get. Seriously skip it..Version: 1.11

Not badUnfortunately, the translation must’ve been cheap or done in house. The term heal is used by the tank character but is not a heal, it is a shield. The instructions are poor; no explanation on how to use a single characters heal vs attacks, seemingly random or perhaps based on your health. The icon on the map moving between points is unnecessarily slow, and annoying..Version: 1.05

Punishing grinding sadistic gameI love souls games and old puzzle quest (before it became p2w) but this is insane you either grind for 20 hours to prep/level for one fight or die. Save your money this game was designed idiots who have a great system but artificially inflate monster difficulty so it is not skill but hours of mindless grinding that matters. A very disappointing sequel that did not learn from the mistakes of previous games. The devs really dropped the ball..Version: 1.01

Good design, awful plot. And holy cow it’s awful. “The healer forgets about magic” bad. But the worst part is the lead. Being aggressively bland is bad enough in real life. Being bland IN ENTERTAINMENT Where the purpose is to engage, where you’re competing with insane machworlds like soulvars, when this offensively boring protagonist whines nonstop about having to adventure and there’s no way to leave the complainer behind... There is no stake, no thrill, no purpose. This game’s as engaging as a textbook, but the textbook will teach you something while this game will cost you money. Your choice..Version: 1.11

No “Skip Story” functionDon’t force players to read your story. It’s 2022, might want to get with the time..Version: 1.01

BalancingDevs: Google it. You cant have a dungeon that is possible to breeze through but then have the boss one-hit total party kill you. Same problem with the last game. Hard, thousand-foot difficulty wall after all the fun I’ve had up to that point. BALANCE YOUR GAME SO THAT ITS POSSIBLE TO COMPLETE. It’s not skill - its luck in addition to wildly disadvantageous math behind the scenes resulting in literally DOZENS OF HOURS wasted getting cheesed by this random boss. If there are no possible matches, I can’t exactly put out the NINETEEN fires the boss starts on my board with every single hit. Your game is not possible to complete. Let me at the very least have a chance. I paid you money! Make your game playable!.Version: 1.13
