CookBook - Recipe Manager for Positive User Reviews

Paid for app and now they changed to subscription based!!It’s not fair for the people who have already paid for this app to be switched to ONLY 1year free subscription. Update: I wrote to the developer and he promptly replied back. I really had no idea until I read his message about all the work that goes into making and maintaining an app. I truly appreciate him explaining in detail about the entire process. Even though they changed my subscription plan, which I truly appreciate, I would have still been happy to stay with the app as I believe it is the best meal planning app out there. Anyone reading this review, I genuinely recommend this meal planning app to everyone looking for one. It will make your life a lot easy..Version: 2.0.5

My Go To Recipe BookI am converting all of my favorite recipes to this app. The various capture and input methods make this easy to build an integrated recipe book. It takes a bit of experimenting to learn the various capture methods but once you’ve got it you won’t forget as the app is self directing on how to capture and tune your recipes. Capture from your browser is very easy and my go to method if possible. The OCR method works well and is the way I captured many of my oldest printed recipes or from the recipe books that line my kitchen shelf. This app works and it gives me my recipes at my fingertips wherever I go and when I use it in the kitchen it does not switch off when I turn my back like other apps that I have used like to do. It sounds simple but this can be very irritating if your hands are knee deep in ingredients. Try it - you will like it..Version: 1.60870

New look, new promiseThis is a great app and one that I use all the time and the new update and move to a subscription model is an exciting development. I cook a lot and had been looking for one place to act as a central hub for my recipes. After looking around I chose cookbook because of its excellent features and great reviews. The biggest drawback though was that the app appeared to be infrequently updated and there were some minor issues that cried out to be fixed. I am really pleased that the team has switched to a subscription plan because this should allow them to continue to invest in making this app even better. The latest release looks better and feels faster. I can’t wait to see what comes next!.Version: 2.0

Excellent App with lots of great featuresI have been using Cookbook for about 18 months and love it! My husband and I have been adding our favourite recipes from old cookbooks as well as newer ones from online and it is so easy. We have now started using the menu planning feature and I am creating master recipes for easy swapping in and out of ingredients. The menu planning feature allows you to add a simple meal such as ‘steak with salad and chips’ that doesn’t require a recipe so you can add the ingredients to the shopping list. Like other recipe apps I have seen, it doesn’t total the amount of ingredients across recipes but I can imagine that is hard to program. I highly recommend this app. Well worth the price!.Version: 1.60870

Excellent AppVery handy. Only 1 poor feature but it’s so obscure it isn’t worth taking off any stars. If I add a random item to the shopping list after having checked off a bunch of items as complete. The list resets and unchecks all completed items. This is the only problem I have found in the entire app. Other than that it is flawless and well worth getting / using. In combination with an OCR scanner it is super fast to go from a physical cookbook to this one..Version: 1.60750

So intuitive and easy to useHave been using this app for years, and it is still my go-to for recipe storage. You can enter recipes manually of course, but the features to transfer a recipe from a website are the absolute best bit - just enter the URL and it does all the work - finds the photo, ingredients, method steps, even a link to the video if there’s one included on the webpage. Love that I can take my favourite recipes with me wherever I go - if I’m on the train and find a good recipe it takes under a minute to pop it in on my phone, and then I can get it up on my iPad when I’m home. And being a bit of a messy cook, it’s great that food splashes just wipe off my iPad!! Highly recommend..Version: 2.1.0

Fab!!Fed up of finding recipes online and then not being able to find them again because of the millions of bookmarks etc. After a while I paid for the full version which was a fair price and most importantly for me NOT a subscription. You can import recipes from the web, categorise them to your liking using the tags, edit it them if you’ve tweaked the recipe and send them to your family and friends. It’s uncomplicated and efficient. Would be hard pushed to suggest an improvement. Love it!!!.Version: 2.1.0

The BEST recipe manager app for iOS. HANDS DOWN.I’ve tried several free apps, several paid apps, and this has been the best so far. It has everything. Being able to also log on a computer was very important to me. Sometimes, it’s faster to type on a laptop, or take photos of a recipe, or pulling recipes off of webpages, instead of inputting manually using your iPhone. This has all of these features, plus more! To top it off, their customer service IS SO fast with replying to their support emails, and resolution was extremely quick. Will never use another recipe app again. This is the best, and only one I’ll use..Version: 1.9600

Great app - could use improvements but better then most on the market!Love the app I have already over 250 recipes in the app! It has a nice “recipe” follow along when your cooking with easy timers and even reading out instructions. Also makes it easy to share recipes via a PDF. Some things that I would want to see improved: - shopping list to be a little more user friendly. If the ingredients aren’t written in the same manner items will appear more than once. Also no ability to have pantry staples but this actually makes me confirm I have all those staples and didn’t run out. - Would love to sort by the source of the recipe. - Timer to go off when the app is “closed”. - Maybe a section/button for tried/made. This could be in the recipe notes but would be more fun if there was a section for this. Other than that a 10/10!.Version: 1.60870

Best Cookbook App GoingIt has taken me many years to find a cookbook app that does everything I want; at long last I can say this is the one. It has so many useful features. I particularly like the way it is cross-platform and saves to the cloud/website. Once you have added your own photos, they are embedded in so you are not reliant on having to save your photos. Another favourite function is the ability to scale the recipe up or down. I cannot find anything negative to say about this app at all; it just works..Version: 1.60870

LOVE IT! 💜💜💜I absolutely LOVE this app! I rarely actually write a review but this is worth my time. I’m no professional cook, just a solid home cook but that hasn’t stopped me having loads of recipes over the years, collected on bits of paper, magazines and loads of cookery books. I’ve found loads of old recipes that I hadn’t done for years on my bits of paper. Well now the paper has been recycled and my old recipes are now digital, and at my fingertips on both my phone (if I’m out shopping, check the meal plan & shopping list! Fabulous!). All it took was taking photographs of my recipes and follow the ridiculously easy steps (which, once you remember the steps order, takes about two minutes per recipe!) adding my tags. Done and in the cloud and synced. No problems at all, smooth running, no crashing, and as it’s a cooking app... it’s easy please, lemon squeezy 😊 Thank you Devs NB: One suggestion, as I said I’m just a solid home cook but a pricing/costing section would be amazing 👍🏼👏🏼😁😁😁 I’m currently cheating and using CakeUlater or sometimes Fillet (but that’s for professionals) it would be wonderful if I could have them in one app for simple budgeting? It would really fit in with the meal planning. Pretty please. 🤗👏🏼👍🏼.Version: 1.9560

Great except conversions when downloadingGreat app, I use mostly to store recipes found in magazines. Only gripe is the conversions when downloading from website. It will often change cups to ml (metric). When previewing the download it shows correctly, eg 0.5 cup but once saved it has changed to ml (often happens with tsp/ml and tbs/ml too). Very frustrating as even editing won’t fix it..Version: 2.1.0

Great app!Love the recipe, planner, and shopping functionality. Would love if ingredients were populated with nutritional information so that we could see macros etc. for our recipes. Hopefully that will be an update to be added soon!.Version: 1.60870

A must if you cook from recipes.I’ve been using the app for more than 3 years, I had the paid version and without a question this is the most used app on my IPad. I love how easy is to import recipes, add pictures for every step, if the recipe doesn’t have step by step pictures, it’s easy to add them while cooking the recipe to have them for future reference or if you share the recipe with other people(which is very easy to do) Another great feature is the ability to scale up or down the recipe, adjusted for as many servings you need (genius) as for holidays I usually have to increase everything. The ability to hide each performed step as you progress with the recipe is great, no need to check where you are. I started importing my favourite recipes from the cookbooks I own just so I can have all the features the app offers. Add the timer for each step is a great feature. You can also add the link for a video if the recipe is imported from a website. I can not recommend this app enough. That’s why I didn’t hesitate to buy the lifetime subscription when they offered..Version: 2.0.5

I love this app more than food itself! This app has everything I was looking for to help with meal planning! I love that I can save recipes from multiple websites , and even add my own recipes - and everything looks so pretty with nice big photos! I really love that the information actually gets copied into the corresponding fields in the app, instead of just linking to the external websites. Now I don’t have to scroll through long rambling blogs with annoying banner ads! The meal planner is very easy to use and I can easily compile a shopping list for the week and text it to my husband to pick up at the store. There are a lot more thoughtful features too. This is my first ever review on the App Store and it is completely unsolicited! I’m just super happy I decided to buy this app and wanted to share it!.Version: 1.60870

Excellent appThis is a great app! It offers the ability to directly add in recipes from web sites (if written in the correct way), scan from printed pages or photos of recipes in books. Just be sure to check the final ingredients and instructions (3/4 cup may be interpreted as 34 cups!).Version: 2.0.5

Favourite AppAs a foody with too many cookbooks and notes on favourite recipes, with those “essential amendments”, Cookbook was a great find. The recipe import/upload facility, along with the editing, weight and serve converter is fantastic and so easy to use (upload online recipes in <10 secs and < 45 secs from hard copy). Still love browsing through the traditional cookbooks, but Cookbook has all my favourites and is now my go to for cooking..Version: 1.60870

Love it!I downloaded this app when it first was available and it was not quite what I was looking for. About a year later I checked it out again and was so impressed with the updates and improvements. I love the workflow and how it is organized. It totally meets my organizing style. I don’t mind the subscription fee schedule because that is what every app is doing now. I also love that you can see what improvements they are working on based on consumer feedback. When I reach out to this company I get a response in a timely fashion. That’s why it gets a 5 ⭐️ rating..Version: 2.1.0

Best cook Book app out there. Love it!!!!!It’s easy to use. My whole family can access my recipes. All my favourites in one place. Easy timer and conversion tools. Able to tick off steps. Easy to copy and paste URL. Can’t fault app. App developers are also really helpful..Version: 2.1.0

Perfect for our familyThis app is really a life changer. I uploaded about 60 recipes within a week. Instead of constantly looking for my recipes in books, websites or app, I just save them within minutes their are ready. I can add notes, pictures, calculate proportions easily and convert from US to EU or UK. You can upload recipes from pretty much everywhere or create from scratch. It’s simple, straightforward and as everything a cooking app needs. Add tags and you can search within your recipes for specific recipes like « lunch » or « French » etc. You also can try « surprise me » which is fun and the grocery list is very useful and simply adaptable. Love it..Version: 1.9575

Very DisappointedThis was a good app. Sadly, the developers feel the need to keep adding useless features to try justifying taking the app to a subscription model. I paid for the app, was happy with the app the way it was but am now being forced to pay over and over for “features” that are not value added. I think since they took my money to begin with, I should be able to continue access to a version that does not require me to reach into my wallet repeatedly!.Version: 2.0.5

My favourite App of all time!My passion is cooking … and I use this app every day. I have 150 of my favourite recipes uploaded. Cookbook is such a pleasure to use. The app has beautiful layout and amazing functionality. It does everything that I would want it to do. I regularly search for new recipes on the internet. I love the Cookbook function that allows you to bring those recipes into your own cookbook. It’s great to have all of theses recipes in one place, in the same beautiful format. I travel a lot and it’s great to have my entire recipe collection wherever I go! 😀 I have installed a special iPad holder in my yacht’s galley kitchen just for using this app. I tried cooking from iPad notes yesterday when I didn’t have access to my Cookbook app … what a miserable experience 😩 I wholeheartedly recommend this app. I rarely pay for apps, but this is worth every penny..Version: 2.1.0

Great app to manage your recipesWhen a cooking recipe app I was using for many years changed in a way I didn’t like, I started researching for find a new app to manage my recipes. After trying out different apps I found Cookbook is easy to use and did everything I need it to do. They make it easy to enter my recipes from my Word docs and have them in a more convenient format for cooking and baking. When I find other recipes I want try online, the app makes it really easy to import and allows me to customize as I adapt the recipe to make it my own. I really love the way CookBook - Recipe Manager App works..Version: 2.1.0

Love itThis is my favourite Cooking App i’ve used so far! I think its really nice that because i already pruchased the app, i get a free year subscription:) and to be honest i think its just fair for the developers to make it subscription based now, since the prices are totaly fair as well, i mean 1.50$ per month and 10$ per year, everyone can afford that (not like other subscription based apps that are 20$ per month) and once my free year runs out I’m 100% gonna do that! Big thumbs up for this app, i love it! The only little thing i’d really love to be able to do is to add more than one picture to my recipes! So i can put pictures of different variations in..Version: 2.0.5

Brilliant app to get off paper and have easy to find recipesFirst review in the App Store after some 12 years as an Apple user. But this App is brilliant. No more paper printing from websites or snapping photos of recipes that you hope you will find again. I can easily send a web page across to CookBook and it captures all the information in the right boxes and in the right format. I can also take a photo of a recipe in a magazine and tell it what to read and scan, for each element of the recipe. It picks up brilliantly and with a bit of simple editing, saves in to the app. A friend recommended it to me, and her sister had recommended it to her. It is one of those that, if you like cooking and baking, you just know it will make your life easier. (Side note, I use the paid version but it is worth it!)..Version: 2.1.0

This app is the best! Not only can you incorporate recipes from websites for example Taste, you can also scan your recipes from the cookbook. It has OCR. You have to play with it to get the labels right and therefore takes a bit of time initially to set it up but once you’ve got a few recipes in there you can just keep adding over time. I then meal plan dinner for a week, pull out the grocery list, delete items I don’t need then bang it into Coles. It’s the best way I can make sure my family eats well, be organised as we all work and not waste ingredients!.Version: 2.1.0

Excellent app for all your favourite recipes!I love love love this app! All my favourite recipes in one place! There’s thousands of recipes online but when you want to cook something you can’t really find one quickly! This is my saviour! I just type “salmon” in the app search bar and all my salmon favourite saved recipes are there! Well organized! Easy to edit! You can adjust the recipe based on your preferences. I can’t write enough how happy I am with this app. Highly recommend this app. It’s like buying a good book! I didn’t hesitate a second buying the lifetime membership! Genius app! A big Thank you to the developers!.Version: 2.1.0

Sharpe eyeI love this app. It’s got great functionality and very easy to import recipes from the web or from printed material and there are multiple ways of sharing. The support is also excellent..Version: 1.60870

Fantastic AppI absolutely love this app, I’m now going through all my cook books and pulling all my favourite recipes from them and storing them all! It’s also great to share recipes with my friend who also has this app! Love it! The only thing that would make this even better is to have a folder system so you could categorise the recipes - Christmas/healthy/roasts etc - I know there is the tab option but folders would make the front screen a lot tidier to look at for us OCD people haha!!.Version: 1.60870

Perfect for my needs - needs tweakingThis app is fantastic and serves my needs perfectly being able to keep all my recipes in one place and create meal plans and shopping lists based on how many people i am cooking for. There are a few issues when using the scanning feature, it quite often reverts back to the home page after taking a photo of a recipe so have to keep trying. Also adding extra photos it doesn’t seem to like either. So if that was to be tweaked and performance made better it would have 5 stars..Version: 2.1.0

I am loving it!There is a lot of cookbook recipes app and I try most of them even the paid one but this one has something the others don't have. My wife also agree so this one stays in all our devices. Thank you for making life easier!.Version: 2.1.0

Awesome appOverall the app is a joy too work with. I wanted an app that didn’t have a subscription model. I don’t understand why I have to pay a subscription when i’m doing all the work saving recipes. Very easy to import and add recipes. Look and feel are great. Great search function and organization using tags function. There are few glitches I hope will get corrected in upcoming updates. When using ocr function it is limited to ten pics for entire recipe. And if you upload a wrong pic it can not be deleted from the list of 10 pics. Having said this the ocr function is spot on 98% of the time. And it would be perfect if somehow they can automate nutrition info. But hey there is never an end to what we want. An awesome app..Version: 1.60870

Best recipes App I've ever usedThis is beautiful, seamless and clever recipe collection app. Best one I've ever found, in appearance and functionality..Version: 1.2

Excellent appI used to struggle to remember where I had found a recipe on the web and this app makes it so easy to pop my favourites all together. I’ve also taken photos from magazines and family cookbooks to keep things in one place. Finally, I love how easy it is to share the recipes. This really is exactly what you need to organize your culinary chaos!.Version: 1.60870

Updated review about subscription modelI love this app as it is easy to use, navigate and to keep recipes. I don’t understand why a developer does not study first which model they wish to follow when featuring their app. If you go out into the market with a one price product, it is unfair to ask for money again to the paid customers. Create a different app or honour your existing and loyal customers. Update: the Cookbook team has explained in detail to me the reason behind their decision to move to a subscription model, which I understand perfectly as many costs are added to run a smooth service. Although not ideal for the customers who already paid the full price, the app is excellent and support for independent developers is important. Thank you team for your support and fab app..Version: 2.0.5

Just Soooooo GOOD!At last this app has fixed some bugs to earn 5 stars from me. I’ve tried so many other apps for collecting my favourite recipes but this is by far the best. My favourite features: 1. Take a few pics of a recipe (ingredients & method), import them into the app & the pics are converted to text. This saved so much typing. 2. If a friend asks for the recipe, simply press share & message or email the generated PDF within seconds. Even better if a friend has the same app you can share the recipe & it will import straight into their app. 3. Custom tags make it easy to find the recipe the way you want. 4. So many more features like *Automatically generated timers within the recipe. It auto detects text such as “cook for 3 minutes” & will generate a hyperlink to a timer set to 3 minutes. Press the link when your at that step while cooking your recipe & hey presto... auto alarm. *Cooking for 5 instead of the usual 3. No problems. Adjust the serving number in the ingredients section & the quantity of ingredients changes automatically. The list just goes on & on! I LOVE THIS APP!!!!.Version: 1.60795

If I could design a cookbook app…I pretty much gave up on designing my own cookbook app when I found this. It’s current build is the best I’ve found that had most of the features I was going to put into my own app. The best part about this app is that they have a roadmap that you can actively help with to make the idea around this better. Honestly you don’t need any other app for recipes. Just add your recipes here, use them and share them. Hopefully the community gets more great features to make more people want it..Version: 2.2.175

Cooking awesomenessThe title says it all. Elegant, beautiful, easy to use. The import function is so good with most pages I’ve come across. I’ve looked at lots of other apps and I love this one..Version: 1.60870

BEST recipe collection app everPros: - well-organized for recipe steps/instructions - ingredients and steps on same screen - takes you step by step with you hit the “start” button; will even read it to you - cross off ingredients as you go so that you know you’ve got it covered - allows you to input different pictures for every step of the instructions - creates grocery lists based on your menu plan - grocery lists organized by aisle - OCR scan for recipes from a book - imports from other cooking websites - beautiful graphics and organization Cons: - doesn’t seem as popular as Paprika, so I hope they keep on providing updates and fixes and won’t fall off the radar - doesn’t suggest new recipes (though, that’s what the internet and cookbooks are for); this is purely a recipe collection app, not a recipe suggestion - needs feature where you can input the ingredients you have and it will find a recipe for you that can use your ingredients.Version: 1.60870

Your only recipe libraryI love this app! It is so easy to import paper and digital recipes that it becomes addictive. I love the fact I can look up recipes on the go and plan the week without opening different cookbooks and laboriously listing the ingredients. It is all in one place. It also makes it easy to figure out what to cook based on what’s left in the fridge. All you need to do is search for the ingredients and the app lists all your recipes with these ingredient. One feature that would make it truly amazing is some kind of feed listing new recipes on your favourite websites. One day..Version: 1.60795

Good app overallI’ve been using this app for over a month now and I still think it is a great one overall. There is room for improvement though, which is the reason I am giving it 4 stars out of 5: - search does not really deliver on expectations, when I read in the description that you could literally just type what you have in the fridge, I got very excited, but actually the app does not live up to this claim; you can only search by a single keyword at a time, there is no option to get recipes that contain more than one keyword - you can create custom tags, but you cannot delete a tag: when things are organized this way, you would expect that unused tags are automatically deleted, but that does not happen and with time my tag list gets polluted with a lot of tags with spelling mistakes or tags that I’ve changed my mind about planning meals only covers a specific scenario in which someone goes to the store only once a week; I don’t plan my meals a week ahead and I would appreciate more flexibility and for god sake, the option to delete an entire recipe ingredients from the shopping list There is no option to export all recipes in the app, or just a selected set of them, PDF option to export does not include the images and you have to export recipe by recipe No option to add more than 1 image per step or simply more images to the recipe Again, not a bad app overall, and still I would expect the above points to be addressed before I decide to use it as my main recipe reference..Version: 1.60840

Does exactly what I wanted! This app is amazing. It’s a website and phone app that allows you to curate your own recipe book with online recipes. You can take any online recipe link (even the ones that are pay-walled like non appetit) and it scrapes the recipe ingredients and instructions. It puts them in an easy to read format, allows you to scale the recipe for smaller or larger quantities, and allows you to tag the recipe with your own custom tags. You can then search and sort by the tags to make finding the recipes easy. Even more, it lets you add recipes to a meal plan and then use those recipes to generate a shopping list. That feature feels like it’s still a bit in development but it does work. I am at 39 of the 40 free recipes you get and once I fill it, I’ll definitely be buying a lifetime subscription. To the developers: please add a place to add additional links to the recipes. Not just source and video links. Also, make the ingredients list more usable by making it editable over time and not fully refreshed when you add a recipe. It’s common that we add recipes throughout the week and don’t want to lose the edits like what I’ve crossed out cause I already have those things in my kitchen..Version: 2.1.0

Good but still needs some improvements for a 5*You can upload recipes from websites really easily (you can make manual adjustments if they don’t upload perfectly). You can scan recipes in from cookbooks and you can manually type in recipes. All very good. You can then plan your week’s recipes out in the planner and create a shopping list. I use this every week to plan my family meals. My main issue (and the main reason I didn’t give a 5*) is that there is no functionality to add items to the planner which are not recipes. So for instance you can’t add what vegetables you are going to have with each meal or plan in a non recipe meal of say “fish and chips” or “baked potatoes and salad”. I did raise this with cookbook when I first purchased the app some months ago but it’s still not possible to do this. Come on cookbook, add the functionality to be able to manually annotate the planner!.Version: 1.9555

Fantastic appI bought this app because of a review from someone else who wrote that they never write reviews but this app was worth it. Ditto! Really well designed - a few minor improvements needed but the small team are planning to work on a new version. I find this totally invaluable for planning my baby’s meals - takes the hassle out of trying to work out what to feed him at every meal. And I love how the app imports recipes from the web. Highly recommend..Version: 1.60870

I still love this app! ❤️❤️❤️I’ve been using this app for a few years now, I rely on it soooo much whenever I’m cooking. Think it’s great to go on to subscription, I now know that cookbook isn’t going anywhere and will be here to stay! They are always doing updates and adding new features too! So happy that I can have all my recipes in one place. My son recently left home and he too has cookbook, so I have shared all his favourite reciepes with him! Thank you cookbook 😊.Version: 2.0

Love this app!I’ve never written an app review in my life, so this tells you how much I love this. I’ve been searching for a long time for a place where I could combine all my cookbook, Pinterest, blogger and family recipes in one place with organization and searchable functions. The ability to take photos of recipes in my cookbooks and magazines has been a lifesaver! And I love that it’ll automatically download almost any online recipe with ease. There’s only two things that would change this to 5 stars: 1. There’s some weird conversions that happen sometimes. I’ve turned off the function that converts the measurements within the recipes, but sometimes weird converting seems to still happen. So I wish that was better or (if I’m missing something) that the controls were more intuitive. 2. I wish the meal planner had an option to swap days instead of just swap recipes. I rarely change my recipes after planning my week, but I often just need to change a dinner from Tuesday night to Wednesday because schedules changed, meat wasn’t defrosted, we already have more leftovers than anticipated, etc. I’d LOVE it if I could click on tonight’s dinner and hit a button to “move” the meal and choose another date. Even with these little annoyances, I still love this app and find it to be without a doubt the best functioning cooking app for my needs!.Version: 1.60870

Great app and even better supportI had quite a few recipes that got trapped in an app that was cancelled without informing users. I reached out to the support team at Cook Book to see if they could rescue my hostage recipes. They promised to try…..and they delivered. Not only did they salvage my recipes….they loaded them into my Cook Book recipes and annotated them so that I could easily identify them to be sure they transferred properly! Talk about service. And the app is fantastic! I use it all the time. Thank you!!.Version: 2.1.0

Great App but no updates in a yearA really good app, lots of potential and it seems to be grounded well with key features (recipe import works really well). But.... 4* as we haven’t seen any updates in a year, a real shame. There is so much potential here and unfortunately unless these guys get their act together, their going to get left behind by the competition... Suggested new features: - Meal notifications (set your meal times so that app can notify you and take you straight to the recipe). - Food log (a button on each recipe saying something like - I’ve cooked this. Allow users to put a date and time, photo notes and maybe rate difficulty and taste out of 10. The app could then average that out to help remind you of recipes that are easy, that you cooked loads or haven’t cooked in a while). -Faster login (seems to take ages for the Home Screen to come up). - Better Sync (my wife and I use the same login, works great but can take a while for both our apps to update meal plans even if we both sync devices before and after) Ultimately the team are charging for this app so you’d expect the revenue to be spent on improving it. Hopefully we see some updates soon....Version: 1.60870

Best meal planning/cooking app ever!!Deals with all the issues in the other apps, it’s the one I’ve been looking for for a long time. Love the look/ design of it as well as the functionality. There was a bit of a learning curve getting started in terms of a few smaller details but the support team got back to me within the day and helped me sort it all out..Version: 1.60840

Great app, wish I had better shopping list functionalityWonderful app for organizing recipes, love how I can scan ones I have written and they are put into the app. Excellent search functionality to find recipes. Like the ability to easily export to pdf. Wish the shopping list function was a bit better so I could click on a recipe and add items needed to my shopping cart vs having to do this by clicking through to a meal plan then electing day/meal before I can add to the list. Wish I could remove what items in a recipe I don’t need on the list before it gets added. Some sort of swipe to delete button would be great Also, wish there was a way to categorize recipes into folders, at least in a iPad/tablet view vs seeing them all. Would be nice to search through folders I’ve created for ideas.Version: 1.60870

Prompt response from supportWas unhappy with the switch to subscription model. Support promptly made things right after voicing my concerns. Happy with the app from a usage perspective and would recommend to friends..Version: 2.1.0

Perfect recipe storing appI’ve never felt the need to review an app until this one. It is so cleverly thought out! It has pretty much every function you need for storing and using recipes. The OCR tool is so awesome! I mean it doesn’t work 100% all of the time as it depends on the quality of your picture but if you take a good pic, and the fonts/backgrounds etc are readable then it’s an amazing feature! Thanks for creating such a useful app - totally worth the money 😊👌🏼.Version: 1.60750

Definitely worth the money! This app is by far the best recipe app i’ve come across, and has only gotten better with the recent updates. It’s and must have and has everything i need and want in a personal cookbook app and more!.Version: 1.60835

Amazing app and peopleI have been using this app for several years and looooove it so much. I never lose a recipe and can put all the recipes I see on different platforms in one place. I save so much money too, no longer need to go through a series of recipe books, magazines or sites to find the one I made for an event and really liked. Easy to use and well done app. And to top it all off the customer service is amazing: fast, courteous and effective. I highly recommend this app and look forward to its new features!.Version: 2.0.5

My Favourite Way to store RecipesI can save recipes as I find them, either online or in hard copy format. They are all in one place, and easy to find when I need inspiration and instructions. What I really love is the accessibility and portability. If I’m away from home, staying in a holiday rental and we want to eat in, I just find the recipe I want on either my iPad or iPhone. There’s no need to plan ahead and bring recipes from home. I also like that I can plan my menus and save them to the Planner calendar. It’s a great way to plan a dinner party. I tried several cook book apps, and for me, this is the best..Version: 2.0.5

Well supported, powerful and easy to useI love supporting Indi app developers and originally tried it for that. I’ve had the app for years and love it. Its importing is excellent. I love the flexibility of the options (Eg sub headings for ingredients) and I use the conversions all the time. We have recently started using it for shopping lists as well. Very friendly support and great value subscription. I’ve tried a number of cooking apps (including the big ones) but I keep coming back to this one. For someone who loves cooking It’s excellent..Version: 2.1.0

So much better than Pepperplate!I've been using Pepperplate since at least 2013 and I was looking for a better app. It was between this app and Paprika. I'm so glad we went with Cookbook! The tags are super helpful and the OCR scanner is phenomenal. I use the bookmarklet as well in Chrome and it does a fairly great job of importing my recipes. I'm still transferring my entire collection over but I'm so excited to use this app and make suggestions to make it even better--like a ratings system for recipes in your collection. Check it out guys! It's really lovely and a dream to use..Version: 1.60870

Crazy for this app. ❤️ CookbookI went looking for an app that would streamline my recipe filing and enable me access to multiple recipes for a dinner party as I was sick having 5 books on the bench and difficult to use Pinterest boards! The app has revolutionised how I store and use my recipes and how I create shopping lists and plan my weekly menu. It’s incredible to be at the markets and discover a fresh ingredient is in season and to quickly refer to the app to find all the recipes I like to cook with that ingredient and know exactly what I need to buy. Saving recipes from online links is also a dream and means I have quickly built up a collection of 400 recipes to which I refer often. I have photographed all my old favourite recipes from different books and now all my recipes are in the one place - it’s a dream. I also use the app to plan our weekly menu to focus what we eat, be more healthy, and be more efficient with shopping. Finally, now that so many of my family and friends are also using the app we are constantly sharing recipes within the app in a way that is so efficient and easy. I couldn’t be more positive about my experience with CookBook. Karen, Sydney..Version: 2.0.5

EssentialBrowsing recipes online is the WORST. The amount of ads and text that isn’t the recipe makes following them super frustrating. That’s the reason I bought this app, it promised to import the recipes and display them in a easy to follow way, and it does so perfectly. What I didn’t expect is a variety of extra features that are actually super helpful. The ability to select recipes and make a shopping list is amazing! Also it syncs between multiple devices so I can view the shopping list on my phone and follow the recipe on my iPad, ace! The unit conversion is a bit rough, it often converts things like 2 tbsp to 1.97 or something, you can edit it manually but it would be nice if the automatic conversion did a better job. Also the timers don’t ring if your outside the app. I suspect there is technical limitations here, but perhaps a notification could be sent? I use this every time I cook, it’s great..Version: 1.60870

Best cookbook app out there! This app is absolutely AMAZING! If you like to cook, and you like to collect recipes from a variety of sources, this is the app for you. You can (easily!) import recipes from websites, from photos, from old family recipe cards! You can categorize and cross-reference your recipes however you like! You can edit the recipes in real time! You can share recipes (easily!) with friends across the country or around the globe! A lifetime membership was *well* worth the nominal fee. The only downside I can think of is that I wish I could keep 2 recipes open simultaneously, since I’m usually multitasking in the kitchen. Maybe the “pin” feature addresses this; I haven’t experimented with it much yet..Version: 2.2.175

Good features but not the best interfaceMy main reason for downloading the app was to use the OCR scanner to scan in recipes which the app does well. However the interface is a bit clunky and could be improved particularly with saving recipes and how the grocery list is generated with extra items..Version: 1.9575

Best cookbook appI transitioned my recipes from one recipe app to this CookBook app. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to use it. Also, the different options in adding a recipe is so easy. A lot of us copy recipes from websites or someone emails you a recipe. This app allows you to copy a recipe from a website simply by copying the that sites URL. It brings in the title of the recipe, the picture of the food, the ingredients and method. You can also change the measuring units. I like to always covert to the measurement to US Standard. It easily converts it. Another feature is the actual link to the site which is displayed within the recipe in the app. If there is a video attached to the recipe it also automatically pulls it in. There are so many features that comes with this app that was not included in my previous app. You have a choice of using different methods to copy a recipe. If the recipe is in pdf or some type of a written form, you can easily copy the recipe using this app. Of course, you can also manually add a recipe with ease. I’m sold! To the developers, we’ll done!.Version: 2.1.0

Highly Recommended!A fantastic recipe manager app which I can highly recommend and well worth the few dollars. Very flexible in the manner in which recipes can be added to your own database. I used the scan / OCR option recently for adding a recipe from a supermarket flyer and was really surprised at how intuitive the process was. Adding recipes using a web url is super easy. The more I use the app the more functionality I’m finding which is great. The developers have really thought this through! I trust you find this app as useful as I do .....Version: 1.9565

I love this app so muchI love this app. The design is gorgeous and it is so easy to use. I now have all my recipes here. It’s so easy to import a recipe from a website (paste link, voilá), photograph a recipe in a book and add in automatically, write up my own inventions… I use it daily, I have all my recipes here, and mind you, I wasn’t much of a cook when I started using it. This is literally my favourite app ever. The developers team are also very helpful, so any issues they will respond quickly and thoughtfully. I keep showing this app to family and friends when we talk about cooking cause it’s just brilliant 😁.Version: 2.0.5

Excellent - exceeded expectations! This app is brilliant - I’ve been looking for something like it for so long. I have always cut out recipes and saved them in a shoe box or had bookmarks on a webpage, but this handy apps means I can have everything in one place and I can organise it to my preference easily. You can make shopping lists, adjust serving sizes and make meal plans super simple, and I LOVE being able to take a photo of a recipe in a magazine and import it into the app. 12/10! *****.Version: 1.9600

Great appIt a great app for the price, very easy to create and import recipes onto the app. Easy to look for recipes you create with tagging. Only thing I would like fixed is a glitch where you hit your keyboard to go down on iPad and it doesn’t work. The keyboard just glitches like it is going to go down and comes straight back up again. Oh well I guess. You can still get out of it if you hit any where that isn’t the keyboard to toggle it. Anyways it is a great app to plan meals and complete them step by step (cross off ingredients as you go). Would recommend giving it a shot..Version: 1.60870

Much improvedUpdated review: I’ve come back to this app after a year’s absence and I have to say it has come on leaps and bounds. The editors are now intuitive and much more flexible, able to take straight text and convert it to quantity measure and comment without issue now. The addition of the shopping list to the weekly planner and the overall look and feel of the app makes it a joy to use. Previous Review: When cooking, the best. Easy on eyes, visually stimulating, easy to use. Photos per step, check list ingredients lists. Schedules and shopping lists. Spot on. When Compiling recipes, the worst. Editors are clunky, not intuitive. OCR needs handling veeery carefully for a good result. And ingredient lists that HAVE to have a quantity for EVERY item? Come on... what ever happened to 'a pinch of salt' There is a paste block editor, but it isn't as intuitive as pepperplates. Having said that there are more input options. Good app, but we need to get our data in there simply guys, it's a lot of hard work at the mo..Version: 1.60795

Great recipe collector!Bought the app today and have spent all day collecting all my recipes that are in different cook books, cut out from magazines and from online websites all into one place. It’s great you can add step by step pictures to the method section. It’s also brilliant how you can convert from different portions and from different measuring system such as metric or imperial. The option to make a weekly or monthly food plan and add that to a shopping list is genius! I’ve already shared a few recipes through the app to friends and family and the options for pdf and html sharing are good. Lays it all out beautifully. I will from now use my iPad in the kitchen which will be much better as you are able to tick the steps and ingredients you’ve done and used. Very happy indeed so far and would highly recommend it!.Version: 1.60870

A VERY helpful app, EXCELLENTI am scanning in recipes from multiple pieces of paper, and from photographs of my favourite recipes in cookbooks. The scanning process is straightforward, with a bit of editing. Some recipes online can be imported quickly. I like the way the app picks up that I have copied a web link and then imports the recipe in the right format. The recipe layout is great, and a recipe can be printed to paper for the cooking to avoid getting cake mix on the iPad. I would appreciate more detailed tagging capability, but otherwise very happy with this app. UPDATED The tagging capability has exactly what I need, which is to make custom tags for my recipes..Version: 1.9595

Great recipe manager app!I love this app, works perfectly for organizing all my recipes. Importing from websites or scanning with OCR is really useful and the web site makes it really easy to correct the few ocr misses..Version: 2.0.5

Busy mums need this app!!I’ve often dashed into the supermarket to grab something for dinner for the family but have had to wing it because I didn’t have my favourite recipes handy. Always get home without some vital ingredient. This app is such a lifesaver!! I’ve started scanning recipes I’ve ripped out of magazines over the years & entering them. It will take me a while, as I have lots, but it’s an easy process to undertake. Great app!!.Version: 1.9595

You make my life easier 🥰 thanksI’ve downloaded several free and paid recipe apps over the years, and they’d done okay, but each tended to be good at one aspect but not all. However… The Cookbook App was the answer to all my “wants”. It gracefully takes care of every aspect of planning and creating mealtimes. It handles the process from collecting recipes, storing and categorising them, scheduling daily/weekly menus, creating specific shopping lists, through to a versatile and thoughtful platform for actually following the recipe. The best part is, that all of these ‘parts’ work beautifully in their own right and this app combines them to work seamlessly together. My favourite part is the money and time I’ve saved from using the meal planning and shopping lists, the $avings far outweigh the cost of the app. I’m purchasing only & exactly what I need for the week, and my grocery bills are shockingly cheaper, just what we all need right now :-) I always recommend this app to friends and now have a community of mates to share recipes with..Version: 2.2.175

Almost perfectImporting works great, great search function, love the display on iPad with method and ingredients side by side. Major draw back is it doesn’t allow to group steps or ingredients in a same recipe. The old pepper plate had this, you can group your steps into different sections of a recipe like “sauce” and “meat” or “pastry” and “filling”..Version: 1.60870

Love most of it so farI just got this and am still working on how I want to use it. So far I love that I can snap pictures to import recipes and not have to type it all. It’s easy to add pictures of the dishes and steps. I can make up my own tags so I can organize things in my own way. I can add notes. There’s a way to back up what I’ve entered. I can share it on my devices. And I love that there’s no subscription fee which really turned me off of other app choices. Things I’m still trying to work out is editing the data after an import can be cumbersome. Sometimes it adds funky characters that I cannot get rid of no matter what I try, including deleting and adding manually. And I wish I could print an index card format vs a full page pdf. I’m also leery about having a full database of recipes on my phone. I don’t want to buy more phone memory just for recipes! But I have yet to see if that’s really going to be a problem or not. Overall I’m really pleased..Version: 1.9575

Amazing AppAs someone who is constantly going through paper cook books having one on my phone to take around with me is incredibly convenient, not only is it super easy to use, it also looks amazing, photos are displayed nicely and everything is categorised perfectly! I think the only thing that bothers me is that sometimes there isn’t enough space in the description box to write out my entire recipe which is a bit of a bummer, but other than that would 10/10 recommended this app!.Version: 2.0.5

The best recipe app!I’ve had this app for many years now and I absolutely love it. It’s so easy to use, quickly copy and paste recipes from the web and it puts all the right information in place. Easy to flick through to plan out weekly meals. I would be lost without this app. Also I got a new phone and had an issue with my account syncing. I emailed them and they replied really quickly and it was all fixed, very good customer service..Version: 2.1.0

Serious Cooks choiceAfter several months and many dollars of purchasing the more well known cooking apps, ( I tried 7) I finally found Cookbook (no The or My in front, just Cookbook). This is a wonderful App and has saved me many hours and made my cooking endeavors so much easier! It saves from a recipe from almost any site by simply copying and pasting the URL and you can also easily copy and paste ingredients and instructions, if you find a maverick site not able to auto install. I refer back to several dishes at a time thru opening “Recent Recipes” when I’m cooking many dishes at once. Also It sends to other CB users fairly easily and making my own Tags allows me to find things saved in several places. This is a small company and they responded to my question within just a few hours. I look forward to seeing this app grow (i.e. share entire recipe collections with friends)as anybody who searches the internet for recipes will find it a huge blessing! And all for a one time $5 fee. You definitely NEED this “Cookbook” app!!.Version: 1.60870

AMAZING - total game changerWow. This is app is simply amazing and a total game changer for organising recipes, meal-planning and food shops. You can import recipes via links or photos from cook books. All text from the recipes are then formatted into “cookbook” resulting in an easy to follow recipe with ingredients, method etc , links to videos etc. You can easily and quickly build up a database of easy to find recipes, (without the annoying adverts too). Even better is the meal planner, you can add recipes to a calendar, and generate a shopping list of ingredients, with check boxes to tick off items you already have in your cupboards. Wow! Honestly, the best £4.99 I’ve ever spent..Version: 1.60870

What I’ve been searching forI have never written a review for any of the million app I’ve used, but this one is so perfect and helpful I couldn’t not write this. All of my recipes are saved on Pinterest, but having to open the app, find the recipe, open the link, search through the blog post to get to the recipe, ect was so inefficient. I wanted something that would keep my recipes easily available with no unnecessary extra crap. This is it. It even pulls your grocery list and you can exclude item you have on hand. Like I couldn’t have made a better app if I had tried and was a tech wiz. THANK YOU.Version: 2.0.5

Great recipe app, needs some grocery list upgradesThe actual recipe book component of the app is phenomenal, but the grocery list aspect needs work. It would be great if the app integrated ‘like’ items that are phrased differently across recipes (ex. Cilantro vs fresh cilantro). Also, it would be nice to be able to manually edit the grocery list and reorganize among aisles. Finally, it would be nice if the list intelligently rounded up on quantities. So instead of 2 tbsp of lemon juice, it would realize this means 1 lemon minimum..Version: 1.60870

Amazing and simpleThis app is fun and easy to use.Version: 1.60870

Best recipe manager!I have recommended this app to so many friends, it is great value, looks beautiful and I love being able to store all the recipes from magazine clippings. I would like the ‘surprise me’ feature to only include certain types of foods, so for example if I don’t know what to cook I’ll use surprise me, but it will often come up with cake or biscuits because there is no filter. I have a big range of sweet and savoury recipes stored in the app so using the surprise me feature is less useful because I have to click through about 10 times before I can get to a suitable dinner recipe. Other than that I absolutely LOVE it ☺️.Version: 1.60870

Hands down the best recipe managerThis is the best cookbook app on iOS. I have tried four of the most popular paid competitor apps and none of them compare. The auto recipe import function works amazingly well and the interface is slick and simple (the others I have used are garish) I am a coeliac and I love having the ability to store my favourite gluten free recipes on my phone. I highly recommend this app..Version: 1.9560

Fantastic App for old recipes and importing newI absolutely love this application for writing in my old recipes (that I often forget the exact ingredients I always want and lose the piece of paper I put it on!) and also for adding all the new recipes I find. The app has the great ability to parse through a website and bring out nutritional information, ingredients and steps with ease. There has been few and far between times that I have actually had to edit what the app imports in. Additionally, I just found out about the cool feature that you can take a photo and it brings back the text for a recipe. Just bought the lifetime version and very happy with my purchase, excited to see what else they come up with next!.Version: 2.0.5

Awsome FREE OCR and import featuresThis app allows for you to take a picture of a recipe using your smartphone and import it with a wizard to take you through different sections ( ex. Ingredients, Instructions, etc...) and uses OCR to convert it to text without any extra charge(some apps charge per recipe for OCR). So you can quickly get your recipes in, do meal planning, and create a shopping list of all the ingredients needed for the recipes you are planning on making. This is a great app and if they can quickly add automatically calculating nutritional information, this would knock it out of the park and really help people manage their health!.Version: 1.9600

Brilliant app - exactly what I needed!!I absolutely love this app. I cook from a lot of internet recipes and was forever trying to google “pumpkin soup” and find THE pumpkin soup I made that one time that was so amazing...and it was a real pain. Then I found this app and it has changed my life! It’s like finding a magic recipe book that has all your favourite recipes in it and nothing else, and unlimited ability to add more! User experience is pretty flawless - just click a button and a recipe is imported, and neatly sliced up into ingredients and method which helps with shopping. I have never rated an app on the App Store before but I literally could not resist this time. It is the best app on my phone!!.Version: 1.9560

Better than a BookThis is hands down the best cookbook app I have ever tried . With me all the time, I get only recipes I want and can add change as I please. 10 stars for me!.Version: 2.1.0

FINALLYLike most people, I have so many recipes and could not find a good way to organize them. This app is SO convenient. The fact that I can edit recipes on my desktop makes it so easy to manage. Being able to scan recipes in with the camera is also fantastic for those, “that was delicious can I have the recipe?” I’ve used most of the functions in this app at this point and continue to use it all the time. Being able to make grocery lists, have it give me ideas based on what I have, scale recipe to fewer or more servings... so convenient. I’m really a huge fan. Totally worth paying for..Version: 1.60870

Love planning and adjusting my family meal planI love this Cookbook App! I started a Healthy Lifestyle change this year. As I have taken on learning to cook in a new way for optimal health adding recipes, adjusting the number I am cooking for daily, and planning ahead have become primary needs for my meal planning. This app is extremely easy to use, make edits and navigate changes. I love the meal planning calendar for planning my week while remaining easily flexible! Cookbook is beautiful and extremely functional for my family and personal meal success. I love using it daily! It’s rekindled a love for cooking for my family! It has become one of my highest used apps! Thank you!.Version: 1.60870

I love this app!I love this app. Especially it’s ability to import recipes! I never cook without it!.Version: 1.60870

An excellent app for online recipesThis app is fabulous! I love that I can now have all the recipes I find online into one central place with a consistent presentation. A few usability issues make it not quite a five star app, but the functionality of it is excellent, I love what I can do with it..Version: 1.755

Love this app!I used a different app for years and was ok with it until they went to a yearly subscription. That’s a HUGE turn off for me. I found this one and have really enjoyed it since. The import process was so simple and fast. I love that I can just take a picture of a recipe, edit very little and it’s ready to go instead of typing out the entire recipe. Customizing the tags is also nice to have and easy to do. I have recently started using the meal planner function, which I have to say is WAY better than the last app I used so I never used it before now. It pops up a button on the bottom of the home page that says “dinner” and it takes you straight to the recipe for the day. Genius! The developers are responsive and open to feedback and suggestions for future updates, which is appreciated. I highly recommend this app!.Version: 1.60870

Great App!Thanks for such a great app! It is beyond my expectations and by far the best recipe app I ever had. There are a couple of minor things which would be amazing to have in future: Selecting categories (tags). It would be great if I could search for more than one tag. E.g., I would like to filter all vegetarian recipes and within this category I would like to see soups, breakfasts etc. Adjusting new tags. It would be great if I could select an image for the new tags I add (currently it seems to pick one of imagines in that category). E.g., if I create a category (tag) called Italian, I would like to load an image to describe it instead of picking one of recipe images in that category. Lastly it would be helpful if I can copy the text in the recipe instructions. I am aware that I can use an exiting recipe to create a new one but it would help if I can copy a section of a text in the instructions to copy elsewhere. I can’t seem to be able to do that. These are only minor points that I would love to see in future but the app is already brilliant! Thanks.Version: 1.60870

Almost perfectI absolutely love this app and for the price point I’m very happy. My only issues are with the shopping list feature: - You can’t delete items you already have in stock (such as water and spices) - the app is supposed to intuitively group items so if you have one onion on one recipe and one on another it would combine them and say you need two onions, but I find it doesn’t always do this and I end with 5 onions separately listed which can make my list extremely long - once I’ve completed a section the list doesn’t minimise it so my list is extremely long and somewhat over facing even when I only have 2 items left to buy - you can’t reorganise the items in each section so I often find random products in random sections e.g. a pork product was oddly listed with oils Great features include, but are not limited to: - adding recipes from a number of sites - the ability to tag recipes - the professional look of the app - the ocr feature - Sharing across devices - conversion of weights into imperial, metric etc. - ability to convert temperatures.Version: 1.60870

By far my Favorite Cooking AppI love this app. I have been using it since very early on and I can’t say enough good things about it. With each update things just improve upon themselves. I hate having to drag out hard copy recipes and then search the index to find what I’m looking for and then worry about ruining the paper items. Pulling out my iPad and propping it on a stand is so much easier and way more convenient! If you’re thinking about digitizing your recipe books, GET THIS APP..Version: 2.2.175

From Evernote to Cookbook App- Thank you!My recipe collection in Evernote was over 3500 recipes, and I needed a safe place to move them, as I was/am uncertain about the future of Evernote. Although the conversion is still a slow work in progress (as recipes are in all different formats), I have been cooking with Cookbook app, and I’m THRILLED with the uniformity of my recipes now. Meal planning is a snap with favorites. Grocery List is a snap for the entire week. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is that the OCR and Import features are a bit glitchy, necessitating a careful review of ingredients after each import. This seems like something the developers are actively working on, and I will happily stick with this app as they continue to make improvements. I would also like the ability to drag/drop images into the OCR scanner, rather than selecting them, along with being able to add more than 3 pages. I bought the year subscription to be sure I would use this app, and will be purchasing the lifetime subscription at the end of my year!.Version: 2.1.0

Finally an app I have been looking forI have been looking for an app like this for years. I have a lot of printed cookbooks but no room to store them. This meant they would rarely get used due to storage. With this app, I can select the recipes from the books and store them on the app. You can also create meal plans, so no need to use multiple books. Great job!.Version: 1.60840

I LOVE THIS APPI use this all the time to easily import recipes that I've tried or want to try from websites. I love that it's easy to use and organizes everything beautifully. It's a much nicer looking recipe app vs others I looked at before settling on this one. No regrets, I use this constantly!.Version: 1.60870

The best thing since sliced bread. 😀I’ve been collecting recipes for ever. Before I found this app, they were stored all over the place in many formats. I started using the app about a year or so ago when it was free. They later upgraded and started charging a subscription. I was upset at first!but now I am happy to pay for it. It’s been a lifesaver. Before I got my iPad, I mostly used the web version. The editor was a bit cumbersome as you needed to enter separate entries for each line. I would Ofen just paste everything in step1 and then switch over to my iPhone to use the iOS editor. With their latest release they have brought the iOS editor to the web version. I absolutely love it. The developer is very responsive to inquiries and open to suggestions. They recently changed the tag feature in the web version upon request. Thank you for a great app. I look forward to see what other cool features you come up with..Version: 2.0.5

Great app!I just purchased this app and I am really pleased with not only the many features it has but the great customer service. I had a couple of problems and I contacted the developer. Not only did they get back to me quickly but they gave very detailed instructions that fixed the problem. I would highly recommend this app..Version: 1.60870

Great App!I have downloaded this app a week ago and I’m very happy with it. The app has surprised me a few times with features I didn’t expect. I contacted the customer service this afternoon and received an answer a few hours later! Definitely worth the price. I’m a happy customer!.Version: 1.9555

Exactly what I’ve been looking forI’m absolutely loving the cookbook app! It’s exactly what I’ve wanted and looked for in an app over the years but could never quite find. A library of all my recipes, linked back to the websites they come from, with the ability to menu plan for the week, where I can go straight from my menu to the recipe. I can make a shopping list with the click of a button, and hide all the ingredients I’ve already got in the pantry. There’s even the ability to share the shopping list with the hubby. It’s perfect. A full 5 stars. Thank you to the developers! It’s like you read my mind!.Version: 1.60870

One of my fave apps of all timeI cook. A LOT. I have recipes saved as screen shots. In my gmail folders, on my iPad. In my phone, not to mention zillions of hard copies of recipes saved in this binder and that. At first I went for the freebie app, but I didn’t have to reach the 40 free recipe limit before I knew I had to have complete access to this app. I have to say I use it most days. Some days more than once. It’s so easy to type in “butter” and all the recipes I’ve listed with butter pop up. Importing the recipes including the photo is so easy and I’m tech challenged sometimes. This app is easy and intuitive. Pretty sure I should have gone for the lifetime subscription. UPDATE: my renewal was due. I DID go for the lifetime. Still one of the very few apps I use an a daily basis..Version: 2.1.0

Love this app! It’s easy to use, easy to edit as you adjust recipe and you can share recipes with friends.Version: 1.60870

Extremely HelpfulI love that I can collect recipes from various sources and when net browsing I can easily save interesting recipes for later. I love that it updates across devices so I can add on my phone and it saves on my ipad (which I use in the kitchen) or make a shopping list on the ipad and its there on the phone. Very intuitive to use as well. Well worth buying the paid version..Version: 1.755

Best recipe appI searched all the recipe apps and this is the best one. It works on multiple platforms, not just your phone. It has OCR so you can take pictures of recipes and input them into your collection. For the laptop, there’s an extension to automatically “clip” a recipe from a website into your collection. It’s great! You can set timers within recipes as you make them. You can halve or double recipes. You can do meal planning and construct grocery lists. It’s a reasonable price for all you get and it’s great that you don’t have to pay a monthly fee. I refuse to have to pay each month to organize and access my own recipes! These developers get it and have made a very user-friendly app..Version: 1.60870

Absolutely the best!So first, I hardly ever write reviews but I wanted to share my experience. I’ve tried so many apps before I finally found this one and have never looked back! I constantly take recipes from the internet and this app makes the import process so easy, it even converts the measurements if you need it too. The editing process is straight forward and it even scrapes the picture from where you imported or it lets you add your own. I’ve put all my family recipes into this for safe keeping as well and made notes as I tweak my recipes. They also make it so easy to use while cooking letting you cross our steps and ingredients as you progress to keep you on track. I personally like to use my iPad while cooking but do my internet surfing for recipes with my phone so having the sync across devices is essential and works great. I’ve never had any problems with the app and look forward to the updates they are bringing in the future. Also the owners of the app are responsive and care about your opinion, not something you always see. Highly recommend :).Version: 2.0.5

My absolute favourite app!I’m have been on this app since the early days and it has always been my favourite! It is so useful and saves me losing all the delicious recipes I kept screenshots of then forgot about. I have got many of my family and friends onto the app too and they all love it. Highly recommend!.Version: 2.2.175

Wish I had found this years ago.I had been using another app that moved to a subscription model, so I switched to the Cookbook app. I have to say Cookbook is brilliant, easy to import recipes from a variety of sources including OCR scanning. It is the recipe app I wish I’d found years ago. Meal planning and shopping list generation is a breeze although don’t use those features that much. A few years on and I’m still loving this app, there was a good deal on a lifetime sun when this app moved to a subscription model. I have worked out how to get recipes from kindle books into cookbooks..Version: 2.1.0

Clean looking, user friendly appWe use this to menu plan and organise our recipes. I love the inbuilt timers and how you can tick off steps or ingredients. The ability to adjust serves is very useful. Difficulties usually lie in recipes that haven’t been “correctly” uploaded to blogs. But other than that it’s a great app..Version: 1.9565

Great App with a few irritants, which could be ironed outI love cooking and browsing for recipes. This App does pretty well all that I need: importing recipes from the internet is generally very easy and reliable, and using the OCR facility is fiddly, but very useful when I see a recipe in a magazine or cookbook. My irritants are minor: (i) on the ingredients page, some recipes break the ingredients into their elements (eg “for the fish” & then “for the sauce”) The App sometimes doesn’t recognise the headings, and does insist on putting a ‘quantity’ (number) in front when I enter the headings manually; and (ii) when saving a recipe, it dislikes going from the final (‘method’) screen to earlier screens, so I have to Save and then re-open, to edit, if I missed something (usually the prep & cook time). But these are minor issues: generally, I really like it..Version: 1.60870

This is an amazing app!I have been using this app for just one day, so far i’m very impressed with it. The app is seamless with so many cool features and very well designed. Adding new recipes from OCR or the internet is amazingly fast and easy. I love some of the automated features like timers etc, I have given the app 4 stars as I can’t give 4.5. There is 1 feature that I would really like to push it to 5 stars, maybe this feature already exists. I have created recipes for example Quiche, I have separated the shortcrust case recipe from the filling recipe making 2 recipes as the shortcrust case is generic and can be reused in other recipes , it would be really cool to be able to link the ingredients (like a Quiche shortcrust pastry) to another recipe so that when you are cooking you could tap the Quiche ingredient and it would link to that recipe. Maybe using HTML links? Thanks for the app.Version: 1.60870

Latest version doesn’t workThe previous versions made it very easy to scan recipes however the latest incarnation only scans one portion of the photo..Version: 2.1.0

Excellent Recipe ManagerI’ve been using this app for a couple of years now, and I love it! It’s a great way to gather recipes from the internet, magazines and cookbooks into one spot for easy retrieval and a consistent format. After trying other recipe managers that just didn’t cut it, I was really pleased to find this one - it’s perfect for my needs. It’s very easy to import a recipe directly from a website, or take a photo of one in a magazine or cookbook and scan it into the app. The scanner (OCR) works very well, although I suggest double-checking it because it can occasionally misread something (easy enough to make changes and/or add your own comments). The clean layout makes the recipe easy to follow, and even includes built-in timers. You can automatically scale the recipe up or down, depending on the number of servings you want to make, or change a recipe to your preferred unit of measure. All in all, it’s a solid, polished recipe manager that is well worth the cost. I’d definitely recommend it to others (and I have!).Version: 2.0

Exactly what I neededIt’s very rare for me to post reviews on products, but this is a brilliant app. It really helped me to keep track of all my recipes that I had been keeping in a folder and any ideas I’d seen online which I could experiment with. It’s definitely worth it for the amount of money. I especially like the surprise me function for when I’m not sure what to search for. Really easy to use and each update always seems a good improvement - not had any problems so far! If I could perhaps give some ideas for future updates: • It would be super useful to be able to search for recipes that EXCLUDE a tag. Such as recipes that are not tagged as spicy for example. • If there was a quick function to add a tag to multiple recipes at the same time? Sometimes I decide to add a new type of tag and it can take a while to go through previous recipes to include them • If it was capable of detecting duplicate recipes. A very minor thing really, but I have accidentally saved the same recipe on a few separate occasions 😅 That being said, the app is fantastic as it is and I’ll still be using it no matter. You guys did a really good job!.Version: 2.0.5

Love, love, love itOur family loves to share meals and food ideas both new and old and this platform allows for a centralised place to actively share this love. I no longer wonder if the old hand written recipes of my mother’s will disappear over time. Easy to use, wonderful to share… thank you.Version: 2.0.5

Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant! This is my very first review since having an iPhone (since 2010) and have quite a number of apps that I have downloaded which have metaphorically "collected dust", including cook book type apps to store not only family recipes but recipes that I use for my cake business. I have deleted those apps and this takes one simply takes the cake (excuse the pun).😃 I tilt my hat to the Developer of this app for creating something that is so very simple to use and is aesthetically pleasing. Bravo! It was worth every dollar that I paid!.Version: 1.60835

Love this App!!♥️I was using another recipe organizer app that I loved and it was removed from the iPhone line up. I did some research and found the Cookbook App. I didn’t think I would be happy and figured it would take a long time to get used to the new app. I was wrong!! I love this app. It’s easy to load recipes from websites, tags make them easy to find and I enjoy planning my menu for the week. And the grocery shopping list is great and easy to use. Whatever the subscription price it is worth it and I’ll be signing up for the Lifetime offer. One more thing, they respond quickly if you have any questions and seem to be open to all good suggestions. A+ app and team..Version: 2.0

Converts recipes in different languages too!!!I'm not usually the reviewing type person, but I just can't keep quiet about this app! I've already told 5+ family members about it! I too have tried different free apps but they all lack one thing or the other. But this app has it all. My favorite thing about the app is the minimalist clutter-free design and overall aesthetics of the interface across the whole program! It's always such a pleasure opening it up every time. My next favorite thing is that you can import recipes from almost any website and it recognizes ingredients, steps, title, pictures, and etc. with immaculate precision and organizes them accordingly. To my delight, the app also converts recipes in different languages with little editing!!! I was excited about that! The only thing I would change is that you can't access the main menu button from the "my recipes" page as well as some other pages. Would be great to access the main menu from anywhere in the app. But that's being nit-picky. This app is still a five star for me! Good job guys! Thank you..Version: 1.9600

Absolutely brilliant appI absolutely love this app and it’s exactly what I’ve been looking for. I have hundreds of favourite recipes in various books, magazines and websites etc, so it’s great being able to store them all in one place. I have always planned my family meals so it’s great the app has this feature. The new version is brilliant and you can tell the developers have worked hard to provide the best functionality for us every day cooks. The scanning software is really sophisticated and easy to use. It takes about a minute to upload a recipe from a book or magazine, and even less time to import from a website. The meal planner is really useful. I think it would be good if you could drag and drop recipes into the planner, or move recipes around in the planner rather than having to edit each day. Apart from that though, every feature is well thought out. I have subscribed to the lifetime plan as it is really worth the money and I’ll use it daily. I highly recommend this app for cooks who want to collate all their recipes and do weekly meal plans and shopping lists. Thanks loads for the most useful app ever!.Version: 2.1.0

Awesome!I love this app. Downloaded it last week and easily added most of my recipes. Can easily create a meal plan for the week or longer. Creates a shopping list saving me heaps of time. The app is easy to use. Having all recipes in one place makes a big difference. Overall it’s a great time saver on the hard copy system I was using..Version: 1.9600

Helped me be more organized (and creative) in the kitchen. Needs minor bug fixHas helped me organize meal plans extremely well and allows me to make sure I’m able to cook based on the ingredients I have by using the search tab. A minor fix that I would like to see implemented is related to the photo scan to recipe function. Works great for the most part, but it doesn’t support converting fractions to text, making it a lot more time consuming to go through and edit ingredients after scanning the photo than the ideal scenario. Otherwise, a great app I’d highly recommend!.Version: 2.0.5

Love this app and great supportI use this app almost daily. The clipper/browser extension makes saving favorite recipes quick and easy. I love how it saves the exact URL, making it simple to go back to the original post to reread details. I have run into a couple of glitches along the way and app support has been terrific. They stayed with me to fix my issue, tracking down browser settings and all kinds of details to help me. Truly customer SERVICE. Thank you, cookbook app support!.Version: 2.0.5

Great - but OCR is tediousGreat all around recipe management and meal planning app. Wanted to develop my own app for this purpose until I found this and realised it did it all already! Only gripe is that the automatic OCR recognition of recipes you’ve photographed needs you to identify the various recipe sections of the photo for the OCR to work, I.e. this is the ingredients, this is the method etc. I wanted to add a bunch of my frequently used recipes when I first got the app, but because of this manual intervention each time, the process got very tedious. I managed about 10 before I gave up and have procrastinated from doing any more since. One other thing they could improve on is integration with the Apple reminders app where my partner and I keep our shared shopping list. It would be good to keep all reminders in one place as otherwise you’re flicking between the 2 when you’re out shopping and it’s not ideal. Besides the 2 minor issues above, it’s a great app and has significantly improved our meal planning and grocery shopping workflow each week..Version: 2.2.175

Great appWhen I was looking to choose a recipe book app to purchase I read all the articles and reviews, and despite some negative reviews I settled on this app. So glad I did! Importing recipes from websites is quick and easy, I sometimes just sit watching TV harvesting recipes to try, storing them in the book for later. I also have dozens of physical cookbooks and have been using the camera and OCR function to take photos and import them into the app too. Works great!.Version: 1.60870

The most versatile meal plannerWe started using this app sparingly to record important recipes. By using the app it has helped us to plan our meals and improve our grocery shopping and food waste. Contrary to other apps, the team at Cookbook have a development road plan where users can contribute and vote for new features. This can contribute to the sustainability of the app. I recommend this app for families, couples or individuals that like to portion or plan their weekly meals..Version: 2.0.5

Cook Book ReviewI have just recently switched my cookbook app to Cook Book and I couldn’t be happier. I used and loved my old Recipe Box app for at least 10 years. Unfortunately it slowly started to degrade and I had to keep restarting the app because it would crash. It stopped sending recipes by text and messenger so I was forced to find a new app. after trying out three or four apps, Cook Book was the one I decided on. It was easy to transfer my old recipes and I love the way you can import recipes, as well as inserting old handwritten recipes from my grandmother. If you are looking for a recipe app, I highly recommend Cook Book..Version: 1.60870

Good job developers! This is great.I recently started the Keto diet and was gifted a Keto book. I immediately started looking for apps that could translate a picture into the correct input for recipe creation. This app fits the bill and is the only one on the store that does this. Also the other features like meal planning and generation of grocery lists is great. I just generated my first list for the first week of meal prep. You can select dates to generate lists which is good. Lots of functionality wrapped up in this app! Couple of wants... -Ability to export import recipes into MyFitnessPal. So far I could get this to work. -Ability to quick edit the grocery list items. I discovered an error in one of the items and needed to correct it. However, if you correct the source recipe you have to regenerate the grocery list. -Ability to share the grocery list with my wife. We are logged in to the same account but the grocery list does not show up in her app even after syncing..Version: 1.9590

Great appI was using a different app and stumbled across this one, it is so easy to use and amazing how it can upload recipes for you. Set out great and good options also. I love how I can have it in my phone and iPad also..Version: 2.0.5

A really useful way to store recipesI originally signed up for this when it was a free app and found it was a really useful way of storing recipes I found online. When it became a paid app, I was initially a bit reluctant, but decided to sign up as I’d already got quite a few recipes collected. I’m so glad I did. The functionally has really improved and it is now my go to place for my recipes. I’ve even started putting in ones from my old cook books because it is so convenient. It really is worth the money to sign up for the lifetime membership and that comes from someone who avoids paying for apps if I can possibly help it!.Version: 2.1.0

Highly recommendI have had this App for a few years now and love it. Constantly saving recipes from websites that I like and so easy to follow them using my iPad or phone. It’s so easy to build categories which makes them easy to find..Version: 2.2.115

Works Across PlatformsWhen the recipe app I was using, Pepper Plate, switched to a monthly subscription service (after no updates for many years), I looked at all the top reviewed options available. One of the top competitors required purchasing on every platform I used, and it was not cheap. Compared with Cookbook, it seemed bloated with extras. Cookbook has worked flawlessly since I started using it. Is it without quirks? No. But name one app that isn’t. I can access it from any device, it’s well organized, and it does a great job importing from other sites. I think this is currently the best app for storing recipes..Version: 1.60870

Wow. You people nailed it.This app is phenomenal. I was brainstorming features I would want in a recipe, meal, and shopping list planner app of my own creation when I came across this app. To see each idea and more come to life in a sleek, well-designed, intuitive, and powerful manner in this app was euphoric. It is better than I could have ever dreamed of! Everything I wanted and more. Good price made it more attractive than other apps. I love the abilities to import recipes from pictures, other recipe formats, and file types. The user interface was easy to grasp and follow even on my first recipe import. I would love to see some sort of bulk import (API?) in the future, but most of my saved recipes are pictures anyway. I’m not sure if there is some sort of syncing family plan where recipes, plans, and lists can be synced between linked user accounts or devices, but that would be awesome too. Lots of praise and kudos for this app!!!!.Version: 1.9565

Easy to use great formatI love this app. I started using it when I got my instant pot and needed specific recipes. Now every time I come across a recipe that sound remotely interesting I copy it to the app! The format used for the actual recipe is great to use. Able to see ingredients and switch to method and I like the mark off feature so you do not lose your spot. Would highly recommend this app to anyone that wants a digital cookbook.Version: 1.60870

Look no further!Amazing app. Love the features. Love the little touches like timers. Thank you for an amazing app to file my recipes. If I could change one thing it would be being able to select and upload multiple photos when using the recipe scanner..Version: 2.2.175

The best online cookbook 😍This is so easy to use. I highly recommend it..Version: 1.60870

I LOVE this AppI love this App!!! The features that I use the most are the ability to copy recipes from websites with just the http address, and taking pictures of recipes, not on line, to save a copy of family traditions. The App is easy to use and makes my life easier every single day..Version: 2.0.5

Fantastic appWas a great app before the upgrade, but the ability to record how many times you’ve cooked things is a bonus. I especially like the ability to export a pdf backup just in case or to print for a folder to share with family. Very easy to use!.Version: 2.1.0

My new cookbookWas apprehensive about putting my cash down upfront for this app but it’s ended up indispensable for me, and in no small part responsible for revitalising my interest in cooking. I’ve been through a bunch of different recipe managers over the years, half of them ending up abandoned. This is by far the most well-featured one. The sharing capabilities leave much to be desired (export to PDF lists your ingredients in a random order) and there are bugs, but the core personal cookbook is the best I’ve come across. Considering how many millions of people cook worldwide, you would expect there to be a mountain of well-made and well-promoted recipe manager apps, but sadly there aren’t. The fact this app has such a generic name probably hasn’t played in its favour, but it was way harder to find than it should be..Version: 1.9565

Best recipe storage appCookbook is the best recipe app I’ve come across and it must be good because I’ve only ever used free apps in the past, but I liked it soooo much I bought a lifetime membership. Great for storing all those recipes you find in magazines and news papers. I’ve saved a ton of space in the kitchen by donating a load of cook books to charity for the sake of downloading my favourite recipes to this app. Great for saving web base recipes and easy to use. I’ve set up some of my own categories for slow cooker, bread maker & soup maker recipes. Great timer functions easy to read and easy to use..Version: 2.1.0

It’s more than I dreamed it would beFirstly it a fantastic place to store all those recipes, especially all those you find on the internet, in cookery books and magazines. Adding them is so simple and a lot quicker and easier than retyping them. With the search function and tags it’s so simple to find the one you want and now you have them to hand you WILL cook them and more. Adding and trying out new recipes becomes an obsession and the variation in our meals has been a pleasurable bonus and we’ve rarely had the same meal twice for about 3 months. Never envisaged using the meal planner or the shopping list but it makes life so much easier, especially in these challenging times of lockdown and limited opportunity to shop. Plan your meals for the week, the ingredients are scaled to the number of portions of each meal you select, hit the shopping basket, hide the ingredients you already have and voila you have a list with all the ingredients and quantities you need to go hit the shops. Wouldn’t want to live without it..Version: 1.60870

Beat app!My friends and family are starting to think that I am getting “kick backs” as I am always recommending this app! It is so easy to import a recipe from a website and then have it in a better format. I love the meal planning and shopping features of the app! A must have for busy families or anyone who likes to collect recipes!.Version: 1.60870

BrilliantThis app is so brilliant. I was searching for an app that organizes all my recipes. I downloaded and deleted many. When i finally downloaded this my search had ended. And the more i kept on using it i realized the developers have gone through great lengths to understand the features of a recipe organizer app. Thank you for developing this..Version: 1.9600

Really Excited!I get almost all of my recipes from online, and having a tab open for each recipe and accidentally closing or replacing tabs makes keeping track of them way harder than it should be. I was hoping this app would at the very least let me type in said online recipes, but its so much more convenient and in-depth than I expected. All I had to do was paste the website url (made really easy by the app and there is even a function to recognize you have a url copied and ready to paste) and it automatically loaded a photo from the website, the name of the dessert, a description, and even a note that the website includes a video! Scrolling down and it includes the standard recipe, as well as nutrition facts and serving sizes pulled from the website. Really remarkable, I’d recommend for sure..Version: 2.2.175

Almost exactly what we have been looking for...Following a lifestyle change 18 months ago to cook from fresh every evening, neither of us being natural cooks, we have found ourselves spending too much time looking through our cookbooks on a Sunday planning a weeks worth of meals... A couple of small changes would make this app perfect... - We’d love to be able to sort the recipe list by time so that when we have a busy evening we can easily find something quick to cook - We’d also like to be able to add items to the shopping list such as washing up liquid, squash & tea bags etc Finally, the ingredients search doesn’t always seem to highlight recipes i.e. bought a pack of 3 peppers last week and had a yellow one left to use up... searched yellow pepper and it came back there were no recipes for that ingredient... it took me 5 minutes browsing through the recipes we’ve uploaded so far but I did find one which used a yellow pepper? Other than that it’s fab, great work xx.Version: 1.860

Appears to the perfect recipe app so farHave been using for a few days only but can see this is just the app I was after. I appreciate all the ways a recipe can be saved into the app, especially the ability to photograph ingredients lists and methods from a book. This is instantly transcribed (more accurately than I would have anticipated requiring only a few quantity corrections) saving any typing. Love how it syncs with the iPhone so I can pick up ingredients for recipes on the go. Love the meal planning feature that combines ingredients into a shopping list and the pleasing look of the app. I look forward to uploading all recipes and using it fully..Version: 1.9600

Fabulous! (But needs a tweak)I have been looking for something like this for such a long time! I wanted something to add my own/family recipes to (as well as clippings) and this is ideal. It is very intuitive to insert and doesn’t involve manually typing out and when using the recipe it has a great user interface. Only downsides: - there is no way to check the originally imported picture if there is an error in the extracted text. E.g. There is a error in the extracted text relating to the measurement of an ingredient in one of my recipes and there is no way to check the photo I used in order to make the manual edit..Version: 1.60870

Convenience in the kitchenBest recipe app. Can add via computer and send recipes directly to others with the app. Can view via phone or iPad in the kitchen or even check ingredients list when shopping. Absolutely love this program..Version: 1.60870

Love itMy New Years goal was to get my recipes in order. I found this app and did the free trial but quickly knew I wanted to become a lifetime member. So easy to use, beautiful layout, everything I need in one place..Version: 2.1.0

Feature-packed, Elegantly crafted App!For a little over a year, I’ve been only cooking and eating meals that I’ve prepared and so I have a bunch of recipes bookmarked and organized as best as I could manage on Safari but I hate how most recipe sites follow a top-down approach to show the information that I’m looking for in a recipe; summary, ingredients AND THEN steps. I’ve craved for being able to view steps and ingredients side-by-side. This app has that horizontal view and other features that I didn’t even know I needed! The fact that I can import recipes is great, since I have a bunch bookmarked. I love that I can have a shopping list generated for me, while before, I would need to use some of my precious time to do so. I love that you can set timers that defaults to time required for a particular step. I use siri homepod for my timers usually but it’s awesome to have this feature in-app. I’m not sure how much time this app will give me back, but the flow that I had set up for food prep was definitely a process, now… The only time I take is trying to figure out what I want to eat for the week! Love it :).Version: 2.1.0

Thank you sooooo much! For the first time I finally have found an app that works like it should. I have tried at least a dozen of the last few years to try and digitize my paper random recipes. The features are so help from tags to multi pictures (this is helpful for showing various steps 👍👍). It has been very simple to use. And thanks for having it be a 1 time fee. I would be willing to pay for bigger updates from time to time to keep development going, but I’m just thankful it isn’t some crazy $19 buck a month subscription. Thanks for hopefully being my final app to get this project done. 👍.Version: 1.60870

I love this app!I have recipes all over the place, recipe books, photos on my phone, handwritten scribbles, magazine cuttings and favourites on my browser. This app has helped me collate them all. The tag function enables me to quickly find what I’m looking for and also allows me the chance to browse if I don’t quite know what to plan for dinner. I’m yet to use the meal planner and “surprise me!” functions but have no doubt they’ll please me too. It’s very satisfying taking a handwritten recipe and seeing it look so professionally presented. The pdf format for sharing is also very smart. I also like the ability to scale recipes and convert to/from various measurements. I could keep listing things I like about this app! Two points for development, very minor, would be to give an option for automatic conversion when entering a recipe. The app will try and convert one tablespoon into whatever it considers it to be in metric, seems to come out as 1.97 tablespoons. The second is I’ve seen an app with the ability for websites to share to it instead of copying and pasting an url. As I said, minor. I can’t wait to tell all my friends and family about this app!.Version: 1.60870

I love this app! This is, by far, the best way to store recipes! Not only is it dead easy to import recipes from the internet (I love the last update that provided this feature!) and it’s just as easy to add your own! I love the categorization ability and the planner feature. Well, actually I love all the features this app provides!!!.Version: 2.2.175

BrilliantI very rarely leave reviews, but I had to say something about this app. I have had recipe book type apps in the past and they have always been disappointing, mainly because I had to virtually type the recipe in from scratch, which was very time consuming. This app couldn’t make things easier. I am slowly working through all my favourite recipes, whether they are from magazine cuttings, or books, and loading them all onto this app so I can have them all neatly stored in one very accessible place. Well worth the £4.99!.Version: 1.60870

Game Changing AppI don’t often leave reviews, but this app has been a complete game changer for my meal prep. Before installing this app, I would bookmark all the recipes I found online and tried my best to organize them in folders. But digging through a list of titles meant I often skimmed past recipes I loved or struggled to find the recipe I was looking for. This app has completely changed how I approach cooking/meal prep and even lets me share my favorite recipes with friends! I can now quickly import recipes from the internet or recipes scribbled down by my in-laws directly to my cookbook. It’s easy to find what I’m looking for thanks to all the pictures and custom tags (they start you off with some basic ones which was super helpful). And thanks to the shopping list feature I can now quickly plan out my meals for the week and get an organized shopping list that combines the same ingredients across recipes - no more writing everything down on a sticky note and crossing out numbers as multiple recipes start calling for limes. To top it all off, I can even share my recipes/notes with friends whether they have the app or not. But to be honest, now recommending this app to everyone, I absolutely love it. If you like to cook, and have a ton of recipes to store/organize, this is the app for you!.Version: 2.1.0

The Digital Cookbook I’ve Been Looking For!I, like many others I’m sure, have recipes on bits of paper, wedged into books, cupboards and in dozens of tabs open in my web browser that I haven’t closed for years. I’ve been looking for a way to store and organise these recipes somewhere easy to access and without fear that an online recipe might disappear down the road. I finally found CookBook and loved the look of it so downloaded it right away. The interface looks great and keeps ingredients and instructions tidy. I love that you can use it offline too and convert measurements. It’s easy to edit imported recipes if you’ve adapted them which is also great! Plus you can check off ingredients as you go, which could also be used as a shopping checklist at the supermarket. The app really has all the features I’ve been looking for! I had a couple of issues with the way ingredients displayed but I got in touch with CookBook and they were very helpful. All of my recipes look perfect now! There are useful tips in editing mode where it says ‘See Help’ at the top. I had missed this, and all the answers were there! Highly recommended app for anyone who wants to organise and store recipes. I’m happy that my recipe collection can now be all in one place!.Version: 1.60870

Love this app!Love this Recipe App - so easy to add recipes from a website or even from a photo! Easy to use when cooking and even has options to convert ingredients to cups or metric etc. love it!.Version: 2.0

The best app by farI was searching high and low for a decent app where I could combine all my favourite recipes - and this one met and exceeded my expectations. I now have all my recipes in here and my iPad in my kitchen. Works a treat. I can send recipes to family members asking them to shop and cook this recipe. Great app: it’s intuitive, easily add recipes from the web, easily add (write) my favourite recipes from our family cookbook. Simple and easy to use. Perfect for decluttering my recipe books and folders. I always recommend this app to friends..Version: 2.1.0

It just works. Perfect!I did a lot of research before deciding on this app. I previously had an app I used, but it was glitchy and then the developer removed all support for it, so I needed a new one to transfer all my recipes to. I’m kinda glad my old app died as this app is so much better. Everything works as it should. It just works. It’s a dream. I had to transfer over 450 recipes and instead of being a laborious task, it was a breeze. You can do it from a photo from a book or screenshot on your device, or import from a website or manually input the recipe. I really like the clone feature. It syncs across your devices with no glitches. When it comes to cooking, you can tick off the ingredients as you go, set timers for different elements and other helpful features. I don’t pay for many apps, but when I do it has better be worth it. This app is worth every single penny. I can’t get over how smoothly it works. Well done to the developers and everyone who worked on it. You did good!.Version: 1.60870

Cookbook makes organising dinner easyLove how quick & easy it is to use this app. I’m working through all those printed favourite recipes to have them all in one place & I like being able to access across all my devices not just 1. Highly recommend.Version: 1.60870

Excellent appI love this app. It does everything I need it to. It’s easy to use and easy to import recipes from websites. I have ditched my other recipe app and this is now my lifeline for meal planning, shopping lists and sharing recipes with other family members who also use the app..Version: 2.0

A new eraOnce I came to terms with throwing away my long kept bits of paper, CookBook proved very useful. So easy to import from internet. No more printing out. I love that I can take with me when I visit people. So easy to share (I asked my daughters and friends to buy the app as well). It would be 5star if I could photograph a hand written recipe and keep it just as it is..Version: 1.9575

Disappointed but getting betterI deleted my negative review because the nice folks who wrote and maintain this app reached out to me and have done all that was possible to make CookBook my happy place again. One plus, no longer have to pay for multiple platforms, just one. While the new features don’t appeal to me, they certainly will to the majority. I still think this is the best cookbook app out there and if you really look, many of them charge as much or more. My favorite features are being able to adjust quantities at the touch of the screen and to be able to view the ingredients at the same time as the instructions. Please keep this app going. It is very disheartening to use a recipe app for years and suddenly find it is not supported any more. That happened to me a couple of years ago because they just can’t afford it or they get tired of doing it..Version: 2.0.5

😍😍😍I ❤ this app! It literally does everything but cook the food for you . The new update is awesome!!!! The only downside is that I now need to move over my entire recipe collection of 5,000 + from my previous recipe organizer because this one is just that good 🤗. There’s only 1 thing I wish I could do in this app & it’s to add links in the ingredients list . If I am making a recipe that requires a 2nd recipe for example “ my favorite BBQ sauce” I’d like to be able to link it in the ingredients so I can just click it & it takes me straight to that recipe. I use another popular organizer that has this feature & that’s all this app is missing . Thanks for the great work I do plan to purchase the lifetime subscription once my membership is due . I know it takes time & money to run a decent app & I support you guys all the way ..Version: 2.0.5

Great online cookbookI had been searching for years to organise all my recipes so I had them all in one place instead of looking through pages and pages of books or folders I had accumulated. I also wanted access to them when away at our holiday home. Then I came across this app and it was perfect and versatile, everything you could ever want in order to store favourite recipes. I have not been disappointed. It will take me a while to put them all in but it helps that you can find the recipe online and download it straight into the app. So whoever designed this big thank you.Version: 2.1.0

Your daily cooking assistantThis app is the best app I’ve ever downloaded. I have been using it for years, and everyone I have recommended it to has spoken just as highly of it. It becomes my go to for meal planning, recipe referencing while cooking, and ingredient shopping. If you are a cook you need this app. We obtain a library of recipes through links, family, magazine cutouts, books we don’t own but just want one recipe from it, and this app is where to store them. Look no further and download it you won’t regret it!!!.Version: 2.1.0

Best cooking app ever!Love it! Perfect and so easy to use. Import from site, pictures ( it write the text for you), so easily!! No more cooking books or piles of papers and notes book.. i´ve imported them all in my cook book. Log on phone, computer... and export your receipe to keep a backup. So perfect and fun to use! I use it every day. Thanks a lot for this perfect app i was looking for a long time. I tried s lot of them, but it never lasted more than few minutes.. This one is the one i was looking for!!! I’m not paid to say that, try it you will undertstand..Version: 1.60860

Great app !Very complete app. When written in the right format recepe very easy to import. Love the way it allow to follow recepe..Version: 2.0

Pretty good, but still place for improvement for the web appGood price for what it does, nice feature to import new recipes to your cookbook, especially OCR and the clipper tool but still limited for planning on the PC. I like adding recipes on my PC and planning also on my PC. Planning on PC do not work. But I’ve been told there is an updated version of the web app coming. Then I check inventory with my iPad and go ordering grocery online on my PC. During the week when I cook I only use the iPad. So it miss some development for the web app, mainly for planning. As I said for the price it is a good app to gather all your recipe from your books, magazine and the internet..Version: 1.60870

Overall really like it!Overall I really like the app and I have recommended it to others. Its easy, love the import and tag options and I am just getting into the meal planning. My only issues are for some recipes I cannot get the ingredients to stay in cups and it switches it to oz or another measurement. I have tried different things but doesnt help. This is only a few recipes this has been an issue with. The other issue is I wished I could backup on my computer instead of on phone. However, I did email it to myself so it does accomplish it. My complaints are more annoying then anything and overall I am very happy with the app!! I recommend giving it a try!.Version: 1.60870

Best recipe manager I have seenI had a different recipe manager for probably 10 years. I was happy with it as it met the need. Over the years I had accumulated over 500 recipes. A few months ago I decided to pay for the cloud service that allowed me to access recipes on other devices. Imagine my chagrin when the syncing stopped after the last IOS update. When I looked back at the app version info I was stunned to see that the last update was 2 years ago. Now there is no way to contact the developer or customer support as the website won’t come up.” And it’s still available for downloading in the App Store. Stupid me for paying for the cloud service subscription through 2020 (seems like fraud to me) Anyway, found the Cook Book app and I love it. I have transferred all my recipes and love the automatic syncing from my IPad to IPhone. And I love the features. If you’re looking for a great recipe manager, this is the one to get!!.Version: 1.60840

Just what I was looking forSuper neat. Have done away with all my scraps of paper and random recipe links in exchange for all my go to recipes neatly organized into this one Cookbook app. Recipes are easy to edit, meaning you can tweak amounts or add extra direction if need be. I love that you can use tags to make everything categorized and easy to search for. And I’m able to add my own photo of each meal as and when I’ve tried new recipes, the visual reminders helping me to remember what I like about each one..Version: 2.0.5

Best recipe app!We love this app for easily sorting through our recipe collection. The interface is simple, beautiful, and intuitive to use. I love how it scales ingredients for servings too. We have food allergies and one thing I like best about it is that there’s no recipe suggestions or cluttered content we can’t use, just a collection of recipes we’ve scanned from books, clipped from the web or made ourselves. We’ve been using this app for years and it keeps improving..Version: 2.1.0

Cover PhotoWould it be possible to change the front cover so that the dirty/spoiled patch in front of the stove on the carpet, doesn’t show!! Thank you. I would have rate a 5 if that dirty patch wasn’t there..Version: 1.60870

I have told everyone I know about this app!I LOVE this app. So much that it didn’t take long until I bought a years subscription. It just works so well and is so convenient in storing your recipes and building them up over time. The ingredient shopping list and meal planner function is a game changer!! Everyone I have shown has also fallen in love with this app and it deserves more attention and appreciation! A couple of things that will only improve it in my eyes, are the possibilities for social aspects. Adding friends on Cookbook, seeing what they are making or sharing recipes within the app could all take it to another level. I know the developers are working hard on improving the scanning AI and I can’t wait to see what more is added. Honestly hats off to you guys. I hope this review makes you smile! Because what you have created is truly fantastic! Thank you!.Version: 2.0.5
