✓ Love this game, perfect for mobileIt only doesn’t get 5 stars because it currently doesn’t have support for iPhone X and that kinda makes edges hard to hit, and there are two features that would really help me play. One is an option to change the d-pad size, on my iPhone X they are pretty tiny and hard to hit. The other feature is keyboard control support. I would love to just be able to use my blue tooth keyboard for its physical buttons without having to have a MFi controller with me. The game itself though, which I’ve played on pc and psvita, is great. It’s one of the only rogue likes that I can play. And I really enjoy the rhythm while dungeon crawling..Version: 1.12

✓ Amazingly addictive.I’m not going to sugarcoat it: Crypt of the Necrodancer is hard. It is a game that requires tons of practice to learn every enemy attack, what every weapon/item does and how to use them to your advantage. Once you put in the time and learn it, you will find one of the most satisfying and fun games to play ever, though. There is no other game like Cotnd it offers a unique experience. Not to mention, the soundtrack is amazing. Its worth the purchase for that alone..Version: 1.10

✓ Sadly ObsoleteWith the DLC now available as a separate app, there is no longer any reason to buy this over it. The DLC has everything that this has. However, I would not recommend deleting this yet. ✓ I loved beating it but...I love this game on mobile. beat it with my 6s in a day and got up to level 3 as melody. it’s fair to say i’m pretty decent at the game, the problem however is i recently got an iphone x. My backup for corrupted for my iphone 6s and had to download the game again (i didn’t select icloud save so i had to start all over- which i mean, that’s alright i wanted to do another play through anyway). however the game isn’t optimized for the iphone X. due to the added screen space on the X, the d pad controls are super small making it easy to “crush” the movement (like i literally dislike playing the first tutorial stage) and i can only imagine dying to tons of blood spells later in the game where combinations are needed. in conclusion/summary: please optimize this amazing port for the screen dimensions of the iphone x.Version: 1.12
✓ Great on PC, great on iPad, with two caveatsI love this game; I really do. It is super fun, original, and creative. However, there is one major oversight and one minor tweak that need to be fixed: First, the major gripe: when using bluetooth headphones, there is no ability to compensate for bluetooth lag. We really need the ability to calibrate the audio, otherwise the game is quite un-fun. Since the iPhone 7 and 8 do not have headphone jacks, I only have bluetooth headphones now. Second, the minor gripe: it would be really nice if you could enable keyboard controls for the iPad Pro hardware keyboard. Keep it up, and keep it aweseome!.Version: 1.12

Definitely needs a resolution fix, or at least a hud button size setting, top priority is the resolution though, it promotes eye strain... There’s a few problems though... like the items being covered by the notch without being able to set a safe zone, or the occasional crash. ✓ Amazing, but a few bugsI don't usually write reviews, but this game is so good I just had to. Crypt of the NecroDancer is a fast-paced and rogue-like dungeon crawler, and not only is it fun but it is also incredibly challenging. However, practise does make perfect and sticking at the challenge will reward you with unlockable characters and items. This has undoubtedly become one of my favourite passtimes and having played for about thirty hours on the pc version, was really happy to see this come out in time for my holiday where I couldn't take my pc. I personally think it is an amazing port and deserves 5 stars, which I have given it, but there are a few things that just need working on to make it perfect, which are: 1) A countdown after unpausing, otherwise you always lose your coin multiplier and if you're playing as aria, will either take your potion or kill you. 2) Having customisable D-Pad size would also be great. 3) Occasional lag (we're talking once every ten runs) when things get crowded which can mess you up a bit, also making bolt much harder than normal. 4) Finally, a level editor would be a great touch to an already great game, I know it's on the pc version and it's great fun to muck around with. Overall, Crypt Of The NecroDancer is completely worth the money and has no in-app purchases, making it just that more brilliant. I'm so glad to have this come out for IOS and I've been playing it almost every day since I saw it. Verdict: Amazing, but would be even better if those 4 things were added/changed/fixed. ✓ NecrodancerI really, REALLY like this game... However.... And I know this is all on me, and not even really a complaint (which is why I've still given it 5stars)... the game is just SO BIG! I only have a 16GB phone (with the OS, it's more like 12), and I can't ever install it because I never have the space. =J I wish they would have lowered the quality of the music and allowed those who wanted HQ tracks to freely download them so that the app could be smaller in size. I had been wondering whether the simple yet elaborate mechanics would be a good fit for mobile, and the developers have answered with a pulse-pounding affirmative. The rhythmic approach to traditional dungeon-crawling distinguishes this title from nearly all others. Thank you, Brace Yourself Games! I look forward to many hours of fun on the go. By the way, the addition of three separate control schemes and the option to play locally stored tunes speaks to the highest levels of developer prowess. ✓ Great game but I’m having a little troubleI love the game and have wasted many hours on it, and I’m really interested in continuing the story, but there’s a bug where when I get to the zone 4 boss as melody, the message “Audio Cheating Detected” and my game freezes. ✓ Should be an App Store ESSENTIAL appFirst, this is an absolutely incredible game. A rogue like procedural dungeon crawler with unlockable characters and a unique movement system that sounds off-putting at first, but once you get into it, it's perfection. Think of the first time you heard about cheese & pineapple together, then think of the first time you tried it! The music is brilliant too. I love the neat touch with the opera singing shopkeeper singing along to the tune when you approach him. Varied tempos and remixes keep it sounding fresh, but the ability to import your own tunes is a masterstroke. This is a roguelike which is relatively fair. Learning the monster patterns and essentially dancing them to death is a lot of fun, but you need different tactics with different weapons. There are also plenty of secrets, upgrades, spells etc to keep that 'one more go' aspect going, but while the dungeons and encounters are random, the player has a fairer chance to beat the levels. I would have liked to have seen a countdown at the start of each new level at when you unpause the game, just to keep the rhythm going but no big thing. And best of all....NO IN APP PURCHASES! This would have been easy to implement in a game like this, but you get the entire game for a very reasonable price, and with replayability factors high, it's well worth the money.Version: 1.0
✓ Epic game but..This game is good and I love the music especially deep blues theme, however after zone 2 when zone 3 unlocked I left the game expecting everything to be the same. Then for some reason when I joined in next I lost ALL of my progress. I had everything in the lobby unlocked and had dove unlocked and the game said no more and I lost it all. ✓ Best rhythm game everThis is a fantastic melding of a stylised dungeon crawler and a rhythm game, based on a stunning soundtrack by Danny B (of Super Meat Boy and Isaac fame). One of the best games I've played on IOS, with a really well paced learning curve and developing sound track.
