✓ Good App but needs some tweaks.First let me say I am about 1/3 of the way thru this app. this app has improved my game from”wood pusher” to seeing tactical situations and I expect to continue to improve. I will definitely continue to buy more advanced apps as I improve. However; first of all it needs some text explaining the procedures, charts and numbers though after a week I began to figure it out. (Admittedly I’m a senior). Second, when doing combination practices it has several sections oftypes that weren’t covered in the theory section. So it is frustrating trying to figure out why a move is marked as wrong because it doesn’t match what the A.I. Is looking for. Still I would recommend this app for beginners and early intermediates looking to improve their game..Version: 1.2

✓ Really beautiful chess appI am 1800 USCF and I love the tactics trainer included. It show refutations to errors. The whole thing is first class. I am not sure I agree it's only for low rated players. Excellent!.Version: 0.9.3

✓ Best learner for iOS but somewhat confusing to useIt has lots of chess knowledge and it shows refutations to errors. If you have not bought the PC version the price is reasonable. I really expected that after spending a large sum for the PC version the ios version would be free. I really detest inapp purchasing. I really consider it bait and switch. Again though, I think the price is probably fair if more inapp does not get added in the future. Once you buy a full version enhancement should be free. ✓ Want To Improve?Over 500 million play this wonderful game… Most of them are happy with their level of knowledge. I was not happy with the level of my knowledge or rating. In my quest to improve I have tried many things. I reckon this app has got what it takes to make me a better player. I am happy that I made the modest investment required. ✓ Simply amazingI love that it's so easy to go back and forth between variations , the detailed explanations and refutations of moves. This collection of puzzles and theory reads like a book. You do really feel you're going through a curriculum of tactics and what you should know in chess before moving to the next level (i.e. Are those 1700 elo problems good for my level or harder /easier ? ) I think this collection used to be called CT-Art . It had an UGLY interface called Peshka that required you to be constantly online to access a server of problems you own. In fact there is another app by Chess King that is called CT-ART, with a different set of tactics. Quite a few other apps like one dedicated to the Sicilian or French . A beautiful easy interface that just makes you want to read more and more. Very , very highly recommended..Version: 0.9.3

✓ Very basic, but effectiveI'm finally learning how to play chess. What I like about this program is it saves your progress without issue. I also like the theory and practice sides of things and the scoring system is neat too, although that's not unique to this app. What this app needs is an interactive 3D chess set which sets up situations and helps you through them in an animated way. Walls of text work for some people, but it's not the most effective for most. The people who are willing to read walls of text are the ones who already know how to play most likely :).Version: 0.9.3
✓ Great AppI have half a dozen chess apps and this one is my favorite. It does a great job explaining the fundamentals of chess: rules, tactics, basic openings and endgame play. The interface is clean and easy to use. The puzzles reinforce the information presented are are quite challenging. The app gives you an elo score based on how your ability to solve the puzzles.
