✓ Fun game but dangerous for phoneThe game itself is insanely fun. It feels like the spiritual successor of that old Microsoft space pinball game. Pinout combines the fun of pinball with skill shooting to creat an inventive 'run against the clock' pinball game. Music, graphics and ingenuity make this game a must buy. However, it puts too much strain on your phone. I played for 15 minutes when I realized my phone was almost completely drained and hot to the touch. I reluctantly deleted the game because I was afraid that it would permanently damage phone. Granted, I could have just limited my playing time, but the game is way too fun to not spend you're entire day playing it.Version: 1.0.2

✓ Love love love!So I haven't even bought the game and I'm hooked (getting ready to upgrade phones so I will wait until then to purchase.) But this game is absolutely stunning, and definitely gives me TRON vibes which I love. The graphics and music combined keep me completely engrossed. The only thing that I've come to find while reading through the reviews is the lack of levels...hopefully this will be something to look forward to from developers in future updates once I purchase the full version of this app because I know I will want more of a challenge after playing this over and over. ✓ Great game for Pinball lovers, but could be more...Once you start to find the groove and rhythm of this game, it becomes incredibly addictive!! The visuals and sounds are hypnotic and I personally find this game quite relaxing to play~ My only drawback, however, seems to be roughly the same as everyone else’s: There needs to be more levels. After getting the hang of this game, you’ll have blitzed it to the end stage by day 3, which you can’t receive any extra time in so you’re essentially smacking a ball around aimlessly with no sense of accomplishment beyond actually reaching the final stage. Has some playability on purchase as you can improve your stage times to gather time for end game. ✓ Where can I get the soundtrack?First of all, I need to get this out of the way-- nowhere in the description does it say "endless." The more appropriate descriptor would be "progressive," especially since the levels are static (as opposed to randomly generated). You may even notice in overtime that you basically start back at 1, just with no way of putting time back into your pool. That's it for complaints, and not much for cons at that. The last time I saw a progressive pinball game was the first Nintendo, which just shows my age. This game is so awesome, I love how there's legitimately different mechanics and hazards you have to interact with to pass each level. I had absolutely zero issues with the physics-- they were predictable and imo that's good for this type of game. If you want realistic physics, Pinball HD is the gold standard. (Optionally devs, you could add a hard mode with upgraded physics, and I would play forever.) Neon glowy lights are complimented by mellow electronic beats, like Depeche Mode got a female vocalist and made a pinball baby. (And did I mention I want the soundtrack?) Seriously, I will pause mid-level just to get my ears filled with the current track, especially before picking up power-ups that stretch the notes to comical extremes..Version: 1.0.2

✓ Love the game except one flawI love the fact that the game has the music and graphics of the movie Tron. I want to head and paid the 2.99 so that I could use the same function which worked great for a while until I put my iPad in airplane mode to charge overnight. When I came back to it it started me all the way back on the first level. Granted, I was only a level III then so it didn't bother me too much. However, I have since gotten to level six and I really don't want to have to start all over again just from charging my iPad. ✓ Extraordinary!I haven’t played this game for a year or so until I wanted to jump back in after I had been listening to the soundtrack a lot recently. First off- the music is amazing! It fits so well with the game and makes you so in tune with the space theme! Ever since I first played this game I have been listening to the official soundtrack! Second, the design, graphics, UI, effects, overall feel of the game is amazing! I can’t get enough of this! It’s just pure quality. Third, the gameplay is very enjoyable and entertaining. When I first started out it was extremely difficult, but after learning the game I can beat it multiple times in a row with 100+ seconds remaining for overtime. *Note*-This was all on the free version Fourth, on one of my recent run-throughs I found the secret mini game! ✓ Fun except for one thingIt's a fast paced game, however, if you get stuck on a ramp, going back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, etc., you're stuck there until the timer runs out. You waste all of the spare time that you've collected to go into overtime and you're just stuck there. Sometimes I notice that it takes a little while for the app to notice that in stuck in a tiny place and not moving so I sit there for three seconds until it pops me out of the crack I'm stuck in. If you thought Zen Pinball was a cool twist on traditional pinball, then you will LOVE this. Everything about this game is expertly crafted. The beautiful neon color scheme changes with every level, and is reminiscent of the popular retro-futuristic designs from Disney's Tron. The gameplay is impeccable, with physics and responsiveness that's incredibly faithful to real pinball machines. The level design is original, surprisingly unrepetitive, and carries with it the same crevices, sweet spots, and devious slowdowns as traditional pinball, but in a far more intense and fast-paced environment. And the soundtrack is superb in its own right - as I type this, I'm listening to the song "Something Beneath" from level 3. ✓ THE best original Pinball gameI am a big fan of ‘real’ Pinball tables and have bought almost all table recreations in Pinball Arcade. Most original Pinball games such as Inks leave me cold, but I bought PinOut because I really liked Smash Hit by the same developers. PinOut is fantastic and really captures the risk and reward of the best tables - and for once, the countdown timer adds to the experience rather than being a punishing limitation! I love how responsive the paddles feel, but also with how smoothly it assists you into the ‘correct line’, akin to snapping to drifting rails in Ridge Racer. However, I would say the only thing I would’ve liked is for the progress to have been saved. The satisfaction of getting to the end of each level and hearing the track change is sweet. Once you complete the game you can always build up time from previous levels and get farther in the last one. To those of you complaining about the game not being worth it, have you forgotten what original pinball is? It just has ONE level remember? you play it over and over for a high score. ✓ Really good gameThis is just a wonderful game. I have had it for years and still occasionally go back and play. I keep trying to get to triple rainbow, I have not made it yet. I don’t understand the complaints about the physics and flippers response, never had a problem with them. There is no need to pay, as a matter of fact paying and being able to optimize each level would ruin the game for me. I could play it from the beginning each time, but I am sure I wouldn’t be able to resist optimizing each level, trying to get to triple rainbow. Maybe I should, but I haven’t given up on triple rainbow beginning at the start just yet. Another absolutely great aspect is that there are no commercials, none, people name another free game without ads. Also one of a very few games I turn on sound and even crank it up great sound track. ✓ Mediocre has done it againFirst off this is an amazingly polished game, and one of my favorite two on my phone at this time. From a person who feels this is practically a perfect game, I have to respond to some reviewer complaints: A) I'm not sure why so many people are complaining about the physics, as after two weeks of practice, I've reached 7th level infinity/overtime and I know exactly how the ball is going to react on every flip. NOTE: if you see /// lines before the flipper, that slows down the ball speed. Adjust accordingly or hold the flipper to catch the ball. B) To everyone complaining about the one $2 in app purchase. This game has NO ads and is brilliantly written. The developers are not 'tricking' you into paying for a free game, they're generous enough to give you more than a fair taste of the game in hopes that if you like it, and shell out the price of a Macdonald's double cheeseburger for all their hard work. I continuously become so immersed in the game that I've literally drained my phone battery from 100 to below 20% several times. The music is a pleasant new spin on the 80's synth, pop style. I'll actually replay certain levels just to hear a certain song again. This is huge for me because I hate game music & have never kept it on previously for any game I've ever played. I'd give 5 stars if there were more levels, the arrows were just a wee bit more visible, we could download the great soundtrack & if the touch screen area was wider for the flippers (I tend to hold my thumbs too close to the screen edge a lot). ✓ Captivating!!!One of the first things you notice when loading the app is the neon light flickering on the launch screen; simulating the noise and the looks sets the atmosphere. Then on the home screen a nice retro/sci-fi/dystopian soundtrack starts playing which adds to the excitement. The nice thing is you go on for a long time, not just like a regular pinball machine where you just score points. The little tiny details are awesome too, such as the mini games and power ups. The game isn't pay to win and it doesn't have adds. Although, I would say paying is a lot easier, but you don't really have to. What I'd love to see from the developers is an infinite mode, where it just goes on forever, with it generating more track. You go through the levels desperately wanting to complete them and when you do you find that after level 7 you enter infinity level which is you at the start again without the time bonuses. Free to play games are a good concept, but the thing about these is that a player will not enjoy a game unless they WANT to spend money on it. Take Hearthstone for example. It's a cross-platform game where the meta revolves around collecting cards to be used in game (i.e. Jade Druid of Gadgetzan). There are two ways you can acquire these packs: spend money (in game/real) or complete quests. The player doesn't HAVE to spend money, but if they do, it's probably for one of the Solo adventures which offer free cards in the meta. This time, I can't tell you a single negative parameter about this app. The atmosphere is a quite perfect isolation in its own. You feel you're trapped in a machine and you've got to move to get out. It reminds me of one of my favorite games ever, Portal series by Valve. The music is another masterpiece, perfectly matching all the environments through this game. Sound effects are just right and controls could not have been more simple. I particularly love the mini-games. They give me a sense of nostalgia and a feeling that I've got to thank the Pinball machine for providing me the chance of adding time to my experience. I want to thank the Developers, especially for awakening the long-gone sense in me that I used to have when I played Doom, Tomb Raider, and Mortal Kombat in about 1995, a sense of pure happiness and passion to experience something unique at the time. ✓ Wonderful little game, with a few nagging problems.I really, really like the idea of this game, but as a pinball player, there are a few things that really bother me about this game. 1: There is no reason for me to get 99% across a ramp that appears to be sloping downwards, only to suddenly lose speed and wind all the way back down. This can happen in any long ramp, which rapidly becomes problematic as the ball appears to try to follow the laws of physics alllll the way up to the end of the ramp, and then suddenly it changes its mind, rapidly losing speed and rolling back up the slope to the apex, and then shooting back down to the flippers. This is awful to experience. 2: speaking of the laws of physics: the ball feels weird. Instead of feeling like I’m ~flipping a ball~, with all the control that can come with that, the ball feels like it can only exit the flippers at certain predetermined angles. So, I find myself catching the ball and making the same shot three to four times, even if I’m waiting slightly different times for those shots. PinOut is a good game, but the physics issues frustrate in ways that don’t feel like challenge so much as weird engine limitations..Version: 1.0.2

Maybe some more power ups, like heavy or light gravity to force a change in how shots are made, or maybe a limited use ball saver that keeps the ball from rolling back like you have at the beginning of the game , like one bump per flipper pair or one that stays with you for a multiple of hits. You can earn extra seconds while playing, but those extra seconds get burned up pretty quickly waiting for the ball to get to another flipper. Even if you did, it’s ~$3, and although I haven’t paid for this amount I feel that such an amount is deserved to be paid for since it’s clear to me that the developers cared about the gameplay more than the money to profit from. There are some glitches and errors, such as your pinball getting stuck in one of the tracks in the first level, but the pros definitely outweigh the cons. Each attempt is timed so you must hit certain paths to gain time. The music keeps you engaged and it seems like it gets progressively complex as the board goes further. I am anxious to get further because of this teasing. The negs are with the ball and it's slow return on an overly long pathway that often appears as a bridge. You'll not hit the flipper hard enough sending the ball to some midway point only to find it goes backward taking its time in order to demonstrate physics. ✓ Fix premiumThe best way to get money from a free game in my opinion isn’t to make a premium but to sell skins. Either u could make an in game currency that players can get by playing or buying. This gives players something to keep playing for or “grind” for. This makes them indepthed with the game and are more likely to spend more and play more. Or instead of premium being check points make the free version have ads. People don’t mind and you make money either way. Another idea is to have in game events scheduled where if players attend they get skins or limited items. You'll probably start off barely getting to the second level but with enough practice and patience you're able to get all the way through to some of the later levels and even overtime when starting from the very beginning. Playing this way has the perfect amount of balance between grind and reward for myself and it's really fun. Don't be tempted to get the full version, I can't imagine it's anything like as good when given the easy option of just starting wherever you want. ✓ Most pinball satisfactionPolished and nearly perfect pinball gratification. Most pinball simulators lose the fun of real pinball because you're bumping around a small playing field. PinOut expands the experience by progressing from table to table. There is no scoring, the bumpers just bounce you around. It's all a matter of how far you can get in the alloyed time, and picking up time bonuses. My only complaint is that it really relays on holding the ball with your flipper and precision aiming to up ramps. This is satisfying, but conversely you don't get the kinetic excitement of just pounding away at the flippers, which in PinOut seldom gets you anywhere. The soundtrack is very reminiscent of Stranger Things crossed with Ladytron. I liked that the lyrics seemed to subtly relate to the game itself. The game works only in portrait mode, and only with the home button at the bottom. Since this is where the power comes in, you can't play while charging. This is just lazy. But I have a few suggestions in mind to help. Number one suggestion is that you should add some unlockable skins that you can get in the game, but make it so that they are hard to get. Suggestion number two is that I think you should make the premium perchase a bit cheaper. Suggestion number three is you should add more achevements that are really hard, like for example one achievement could be called Pinball Pro and how to get it is you have to complete level 15 starting from the beginning.
