Notify NYC for Negative User Reviews

SlowDoesnt report about the dirty treeshes in the bronx.Version: 2.1.6

Planned FlyoverNo way to disable the useless planned flyover events that alert daily, this information is of no use at all to me and should be able to be disabled..Version: 2.0

No accept button to pressPretty sure is a glitch..Version: 1.0

Ignores Notification SettingsLoved this on Android. Switched to iPhone and it ignores my notification settings. I’ve specifically asked it not to tell me about traffic disruptions because who cares about cars. And I keep getting them anyways..Version: 2.2.3

Not ready for prime time...I can't get past the Terms of Use agreement!.Version: 1.0

Useless notificationsI can’t tell you how disappointing this app has been. My GF works in Manhattan so we both got the app to be aware of any issues. The alerts are very vague for the months we’ve had it. But this morning, when a pipe bomb detonated 2 blocks from where my GF works, I got an alert that said “police activity”. That’s it!! Useless! There are much better apps out there. The NBC New York app sent me a much more detailed app about what was going on this morning. We are deleting the NYC alert app..Version: 1.2

Too many alertsThey allow you to select the type of alerts but “Emergency Alerts” are required. However, even tho I only get Emergency Alerts, I often get 5 alerts a day for stupid non-emergency stuff like “Get your COVID booster” and other reminders. The people who run this app and send our alerts need to make sure that Emergency Alerts are true emergencies and not just public service announcements, or segregate those into optional notifications. Also, we should have an option to receive amber/grey alerts..Version: 2.2.7

Cant get past AgreementCan’t get past agreement.Version: 1.0

Good idea, bad executionThis app had such promise but you end up getting spammed with a lot of useless notifications. Got to the point it was unusable so I deleted it. All I wanted was an app that would alert me to true emergencies—ie, messages that would truly cause me to take action. This app doesn’t allow this. I tried many different notification settings and each still time got bombarded with messages that weren’t relevant..Version: 1.0

What a wasteWhat happened to this app? Worked fine up until 2 weeks ago when the notifications for ASP from 9/3 to 9/8 came up and never left. You try to tap it away and it stays there, incessantly popping up like a subway preacher at 8am. Get it together, people. Deleting the app because it’s just not worth the space it takes up on my phone..Version: 2.2.1

Mostly uselessThis app is kind of a joke. Primarily because the alert notifications are so absurdly vague. I got one saying merely "Fire!" yesterday. Great, thanks. I hardly ever get transit snafu alerts. I get tons of "flyover" alerts which are totally pointless. While the email alert system wasn't great either, at least I got more info with a quick glance. This takes several clicks to get into the app to see the actual details of the alert. No, I just want to be able to glance at my phone and see what's going on..Version: 1.3

Can’t get past terms of serviceNo accept terms of service button showing designate downloading it twice. So not I can’t get past the terms of service screen..Version: 1.0

Too many alertsIt would be a useful app but although you can select alerts relevant to you, there are some you can not turn off, like “missing persons”. This means the app becomes yet another annoying distraction, constantly chirping for your attention. I had to delete it..Version: 2.2.7

Ridiculously buggyPop-up notifications repeat endlessly and can’t be dismissed. Notification preferences can’t be saved. Really good idea that needs some serious QC..Version: 2.2.1

Old notifications upon opening appHave to click through millions of pop ups about old notifications upon opening app, when I just want to see details about a current notification..Version: 2.2.1

Pop upsThe parking reform pop up won’t stop popping up in the app no matter how many times I hit ok or details. It makes the app impossible to use..Version: 2.2.1

AlertsSort out the alerts. Anytime I can go into the app, the alerts continually pop up, not allowing me to read any other messages..Version: 2.2.7

Needs a fixWhile using the app pop-up notification alert boxes appear. One can not do anything within the app unless the boxes are removed. There are two options,“ok” “details”, within the boxes to remove these notifications. Click ok or details but some of the SAME notifications keep popping up incessantly making the app useless..Version: 2.2.1

More granular controlsThis app really needs more granular controls. I get daily alerts for planned flyovers of aircrafts, as well as missing adults (for all of NYC). Neither of these types of alerts are useful, and I will be uninstalling the app given all the noise they make. You should be allowed to toggle off ALL categories of alerts on a granular level. Forcing people to keep the missing persons alert on, just causes people to uninstall the app (I’d also be more likely to leave it on if it was limited to folks from/last seen in my neighborhood...all of NYC just causes too many notifications, for folks living in areas I never go to)..Version: 1.4

WasteDoesn't work, unable to get pass the agreement.Version: 1.0

Multiple notifications for the same incident. Why when I open the app I have to click 100 times to acknowledge the same alert. That’s stupid..Version: 2.2.1

Uses a ridiculous amount of batteryA recent update of this app has caused it to start using huge amounts of battery in the background. During an hour drive today it was responsible for 82% of my significant battery drain with 45 minutes of background activity (according to battery performance report in settings)..Version: 2.2.7

Good idea, poor executionI thought this app would be useful living in New York City. However every time I open it up I get hundreds of notifications of city bus suspensions from three months ago and no matter whether you click “details” or you click “close,” it just keeps popping up.It would be nice if it alerted you of police activity or vital things in your neighborhood. It would be great if you could set your neighborhood for living or working so you don’t receive city wide notifications for areas you will never go to. And every day to get four or five plannedFly over notifications doesn’t really help and is just annoying..Version: 2.2.1

UselessThere have been 2 high profile events that have happened since I've downloaded the app, and it has failed to post anything about it. Ultimately useless..Version: 1.2

UselessI just downloaded it and checked it out. Very little in the way of notices. So I clicked on coronavirus updates. There was one update from 3 days ago that said basically nothing. No news from today even though the mayor just declared a state of emergency, banned gatherings of over 500 people and closed Broadway. Umm deleted.Version: 2.1.8

Does nothing other than display terms of use... which are extremely lengthy given that there is no apparent way to "use" the app. There is no obvious way to dismiss the terms of use - no buttons, links or other widgets..Version: 1.0

TerribleTruck just ran down pedestrians and driver exited shooting. No notifications. This is what I got this app for so don’t wast your time downloading it just follow the news..Version: 1.1.2

DirtyNo news about the dirty treeshes on the loose cuhx.Version: 2.1.6

Cannot get past user agreementNothing shows up but a user we met we can get in around of it so I deleted the app. When you fix the bugs let us know.Version: 1.0

Useful but buggyGreat useful app but randomly closes when it’s in use....Version: 2.1.1
