✓ FrustratingI’ve had my sprocket for awhile it was great however I haven’t used it in a few months and tonight when I went to use it it refuses to connect it keeps saying problem with setup I’ve tried resetting it. it had a notification come up saying to go into Bluetooth settings and forget it which I did but it still wouldn’t connect I’ve never had this problem before 🤦🏻♀️ incredibly frustrated right now..Version: 2.80.3
✓ The app keeps crashing on older photosThe printer itself works fine, setup was easy, picture quality is passable but not great. The biggest issue for me is the app. It keeps crashing and it seems to be mainly when i select a non-recent photo. When i select a current photo there are no issues, but anything older and the app crashes. I have tons of pictures on my phone and it would be nice if the app had a better way of sorting or finding pictures insted of scrolling. That is such a time waster especially when you finally scroll to the picture you want just to have thr app crash. I’m not sure why they wont allow you to just share the picture directly from the camera roll to the printer. That would definitely work better than having to go through the app everytime if they cant get the sorting, crashing ans mediocre picture quality improved..Version: 2.80.5
✓ Do I have a different app?Looking at these reviews I think I must have a different app - my experience is so different. I would really love to love this little device, but I can’t because the app keeps crashing. It just took me 30minutes of constant crashing before it was able to print one photo. My husband keeps asking me why i don’t use this gift he gave me - I don’t have the heart to tell him that this thing is next to useless and incredibly frustrating to use. ✓ Frustrating!!!So I completely love my sprocket, honestly It’s so handy. But the app needs sorting. For some reason, every time I print a photo it prints twice, not a huge issue but it’s wasting paper that isn’t exactly inexpensive. I’ve tried entering the print queue and deleting the second photo but despite pausing the printing process to delete the addition photo but to no avail. 100% love the product, the app is easy to navigate for everything else, editing options are a nice touch too but this bug needs fixing as I’ve wasted A LOT of paper. Please watch out so you’re not stung by this too!!.Version: 2.80.9
✓ Duplicate printing & pairing an issue - please fixLove my Sprocket printer … but! A couple of software issues: 1. So since one of the recent updates I’ve noticed how my beloved Sprocket now seems to reprint the last picture even though it hasn’t been in the print queue - and the last print job finished correctly. It’s frustrating because it wastes previous paper! 2. also originally you didn’t have to keep pairing your sprocket, now you have to go through a series of confirmations every single time you turn it on which is a waste of time. I don’t know about others, but I don’t have every single model, I just have the one little fabulous unit. Please revert this back to the original pairing setting. ✓ Somethings to think about....The App itself is really good, easy to use and straightforward not complicated. The product itself is convenient and the perfect size for travel however a few issues I have.... 1. The photos all print out with like a blue tinge to them so that can effect how the photo looks dramatically. 2. It overheats frequently if you print too many photos at once usually like 3 and it’s overheated. Im still 50/50 on wether I really like this product or not..Version: 2.75.6

✓ Wish i could like this app...There is a lot of nice things for the user experience and aesthetics of this app. Unfortunately using it is still a frustrating experience. It’s hard to tell when the printer is actually on or not (that is also a problem of the actual hardware). Most of the photos print out too washed out or overly splotchy compared to the image on the app. The most annoying but hopefully easy to fix thing: it’s impossible to choose the crop on the photo—the standard iPhone photo is just a bit too big for the printed paper and there’s no way to adjust in the app what part of the photo gets cut off, so I’ve printed a bunch of photos with someone’s head or face cut off. Even when i crop the photo differently in the iPhone photo editor it still shows up with the wrong proportions on the sprocket app and print. What’s the point of printing the photo when it doesn’t really show what i actually want to be printed....please i hope there will be a feature soon to choose what is in the printed frame of the print—i really want to like the sprocket and this app..Version: 2.55.0
✓ Bluetooth BROKEN ‼️😭My printer is broken. I tried connecting to my Bluetooth one day after it disconnected and everything was connecting smoothly until I tried to “select an accessory” then it just showed a blank screen. The only thing I could hit was cancel. I tried troubleshooting by deleting the app and even trying to connect to a couple different devices. Nothing helped, which leads me to believe that it’s a printer problem, and not a device issue. I haven’t used it in over a year, but even last October it stopped working. I’m super disappointed and I don’t know why it stopped working. I hope this review helps, and that yall work towards fixing the problem..Version: 2.80.22
✓ Bad qualityFirst time using it and it’s not a good experience. The pictures are discoloured and either too blue or too pink. Just downloaded it so I’m on the highest version, and even the first picture came out pink so wasn’t a heating issue.Version: 2.80.18
✓ Don't bother contacting HP supportI love this printer. However, after the lastest iOS update it no longer works. I spent a lot of time with HP support and they don't listen. They will tell you the same steps the replies here in the reviews are telling us to review and none of it works. Just look at the pages on their support forum listing the same problem over and over and their "solution". They did admit that it doesn't work on iOS 8 either and they are waiting for a fix from Apple. Don't bother with them or this printer until they fix it. They won't admit they messed up and won't listen when they tell you to rested the device and phone and you've explained you've been there and done that at least three times..Version: 2.02.0
✓ App keeps crashingI love these printers and I finally got one it seems to work fine but the app doesn’t. The app has only worked once for me and I keep trying everything to get it to load but it just won’t load for me. I got into it once and set up Bluetooth and then it kicked me out, and keeps saying “Server Error Try again later” so I can’t even open the app to be able to print my pictures. ✓ Poor Backup SupportAs many have reported to the support forum and here, the current version of this app will no longer connect to older devices (even if they are connected to your device by Bluetooth). HP’s solution is to suggest updating the firmware. This is not possible if the device won’t connect to the app so the calibre of their tech support would appear to be as questionable as the strength of thei commitment to long standing users (now former users in my case!). ✓ Really needs tweaking BADStill terrible at aligning photo. Cuts too much off!!! Does not print correctly for the 2.3x3.4 select paper size. The printer does not print what is on the screen and there’s no way to adjust a photo on the screen up or down to where it prints the section of a photo that you want to print. It crops part of the original photo for the app display and then crops even more on the print final. This is not good. In collages, you’re unable to re-orient the photo to match the square. For example if I have a portrait photo in the four window collage, I am unable to rotate it to where it fits in that square so I can only see may be a third of the picture itself. You should really be able to orient pictures in a collage. Additionally there needs to be a lot more collage options. Also most of the add on frames and designs cater to portrait orientation. Need lots more landscape designs. You should also be able to resize photos within the parameters of the print frame. It will fill up the frame and often clip off the edges of taxed. Also why can’t you freehand multiple pictures on one single print and orient them in any direction you want..Version: 2.80.22
✓ Keeps losing connection to printerHave tried it on two iPhones and on both it stops working after a couple of days. Phone says it’s connected via Bluetooth, but the app says it can’t find the printer. Even after app just asked for and received permission to communicate with it. Unreliable and frustrating. After uninstalling and reinstalling app yet again it works, but color reproduction is bad - skin looks super red compared to original photo on phone, like people are all sunburned. Update: HP kindly replaced my printer w a new one (still under warranty), but the unreliable connection remains a problem. Printing pics takes ages as I repeatedly reboot the printer and force quit the app to get them to stay connected. Colors are also still bad..Version: 2.80.3
✓ Doesn’t Work AnymoreI got the HP Sprocket as a gift about 2 and a half years ago but as of the beginning of this year the app will not connect to my printer and says it is an error. The only way to print was by connecting by bluetooth off of my computer which is a hassle because I have to download each picture off of my phone and send the file to the printer individually. ✓ Won’t even connect anymoreI have the first version of the Sprocket printer (i think) and it simply wont connect anymore. My bluetooth says it’s connected to the sprocket but the app won’t recognise it so I can’t print anything. I’ve tried all of the ways to fix it like resetting the sprocket and my phone but it does nothing. What’s the point if I can’t even use it. It used to work fine before all the updates to the app, now it isn’t even recognised in the “you may have an older version” section that comes up. ✓ Hard to set upI purchased my HP Sprocket a few weeks ago. Set up was a nightmare. It connected to my device with no issues, however it just would not print. After multiple attempts, searching for videos online, switching paper around, inserting the paper from the back forward and from the front backwards, nothing would work. I kept getting a paper jam error, as the little barcode piece would just get stuck in the feed...so I decided to take out the smart barcode card. Success…finally. I understand the barcode determines the paper that you are using, but it doesn’t entirely seem necessary. Any explanation as to why my printer prints without this card would be appreciated. Other than that, I do like the sprocket, it just wasn’t the easiest set up in the world.Version: 2.59.0
✓ App continuously crashes and prints photos that are not selectedI was very excited when I got my Hp Sprocket. It’s adorable and prints relatively well and is perfect for on the go. I had the app for less than an hour and had it crash over a dozen times, printed photos that were not selected, wasting the photo paper that I have. The app then freezes, preventing me from going back into my gallery to select a different photo, resulting in me to force-close the app. Once you try to reopen the app, it crashes again. Even waiting for a period of time does not help. Please, please, please fix the bugs and crashes. ✓ Great little printer not so great appOnce you know how to tweak pics for best results ie up the brightness, contrast and saturation you can get not bad results. However the app has gone from ok to bad. On an iPhone 11 adjusting the settings above is very jerky and difficult to do with any subtlety. It shouldn’t be struggling in the latest phone in my mind. Also with the latest update the print queue keeps pausing for no reason. I have to constantly turn the printer on and off to restart the queue. It says it’s printing but nothing is happens and completed jobs often stay in the queue with a status of printing after they complete and can’t be deleted. It is also not uncommon that when the queue stuffs up you can get a duplicate print which adds to the annoyance. The current app version also slightly crops photos which it didn’t use to do. ✓ Doesn’t WorkI got the Sprocket 2 in 1 for Christmas and it immediately didn’t work. I tried for several hours to get it to work and googled everything and nothing works. Right when I turn it on, it immediately starts blinking red, which means it’s in an error state right when I turn it on. When I try to print, it says that the lid is open and I have redownloaded the app, restarted my Sprocket, and tried updating it and nothing has worked. I was extremely excited to get this as a gift, as I have read so many good reviews, and I am so annoyed and frustrated with my Sprocket, especially since it was expensive. If anyone has anyway to help me please let me know, but as of now, it definitely do not recommend. ✓ Love it but have technical issuesI have had Sprocket for 3 years now and it has been working fine, until today when I took it out and tried to connect to my iPhone the same one I had before and it would connect to Bluetooth but the app doesn't see it at all, it keeps telling me "searching for a sprocket- can't find one" and that is really frustrating, tried to restart the phone and the sprocket itself but it still wouldn't see it in the app, even though the app is updated. ✓ Junk! Just junk!Was very excited to gift a sprocket to my partner for Christmas, it seemed a better idea than a Polaroid camera as we could guarantee printing our fav photos with no problems. We set it up, and were able to print about 20 photo’s. from there the sprocket has become a nightmare, I can not connect to it on any of my 7 Bluetooth devices, it’s simply undiscoverable! Then they came out with a new update and changed the app and now the app will no longer register that my printer exists. ✓ Still unsure if it’s futureI purchased this printer based on some good reviews, which out weighed the poor reviews. I’m still on the fence and hence only giving it 3 Stars! First star, it is very easy to set up, second star it’s easy to load the paper, thirdly it’s easy to print from phone to sprocket. Why it’s lacking the other 2 stars is I can’t print photos more than about 2 years old (from my iPhone), and finally the quality isn’t that good; even using by editing tool (which is very basic), the photos all have a pinky tinge to them, and some look washed out. Surely in this day and age of brilliant technological advances HP could produce a more realistic photo image. I used to develop prints the old way (in a dark room using chemicals) when I was in my teens and even with my limited knowledge I could get the saturation spot on. I don’t understand how to put the cartrage in without breaking the film thing. ✓ Hp sprocket 200I was so looking forward to getting my printer and it was so easy to set up. When I printed out the first photos I was so disappointed because they came out a pink colour and not how they should’ve. I did all the troubleshooting tips but eventually went to Hp customer service who at first were willing to exchange the printer. When I sent my eBay receipt they then refused to exchange it saying that they class everything from eBay as used. I had actually bought it brand new and it was in its original packaging. The seller won’t accept a return and I’m now left with a faulty product. When googling how to fix it this seems to be a very common issue with this model. I use other Hp products and their instant ink but I might not be so keen to carry on using their products in the future..Version: 2.80.14

✓ Not centeredThe stickers are not centered when they print even if they are centered on the app. If your picture needs to align directly on the edges of the stickers, you will have to waste multiple stickers to do so. Once they are centered, the stickers come out beautifully, but the review is for the app, which is supposed to align the stickers in the boxes and this one fails to do so. It would be nice if the app allowed you to resize them directly on there. Since it doesn’t, you will have to edit them on another app each time and if it’s on your computer, resend it to yourself each time. As a pro, it does refresh my new pictures almost immediately..Version: 2.80.22

✓ Very DisappointingThe app is pretty bad which is unfortunate. You have to shut down the app and reopen constantly to print or queue more than one photo at any given time. The app prints duplicates even though you have only requested one. The picture quality is poor and dull despite the filters to choose from. They do not come out as visually expected. ✓ It isn’t working!When I first bought it, the pictures were a bit blurry and the color isn’t like the picture on my iPhone. Then I updated the firmware software; but it isn’t working. My phone is updated, my sprocket 2 in 1 is updated. So I don’t understand why it isn’t working find? I connected customers services and they can’t help you. Which made me think “why have customer service if your not going to help the customer out?” I want to return mine but I do LIKE it a lot. I love the small pictures; which is the reason why I got it. I just only wish they can resend the firmware software and make it better? ✓ IT USED TO BE SO GOOD!!!I am a big fan of the sprocket. I chose to get the Sprocket 200 as an update to the sprocket I already had. I made this purchase bc the sprocket was not connecting to the sprocket app with the new user interface. I am having so many connectivity issues, even with the new sprocket. The new app layout is very inconvenient, and requires me to reconnect the Sprocket 200 through a 4 step process. Each time load in a new packet of photos. It disconnects (even in the middle of printing), and the app requires me to wait 30 seconds to a minute to reconnect it again. This is a huge pain. The new aesthetic to the app layout is pretty- but the function and practicality using it requires much more time (and emotional expense). I am frustrated!! ✓ A nice giftI recived my sprocket for my birthday and I was thrilled! I was going to get a Polaroid printer instead but I was happy with this. I connected to my device without a problem and printed out the blue card along with 2 photos. I went to bed and the next morning I tried to print more but it just wasn’t working. On the app I would press print and it would say that it was printing but the printer made no noise and nothing would come out. The photos came up on “printed” but it just wasn’t working no matter how many times I tried. And he’s the printer was on because the light was on. ✓ 2 iPhones and neither will connectI have two iPhones and neither will even locate, let alone connect to, my hp sprocket sitting less than a foot from either phone, but the iPad connects just fine. Granted it had been a while since I used the sprocket on main phone, but I had some photos I wanted to print out and the iPad wasn’t convenient. ✓ Help please, need a photo by tomorrow morningUpdate: I returned the printer for a refund :) So I have tried everything the HP website and Sprocket app have suggested, but no matter what I do my Bluetooth cannot identify the Sprocket. ✓ FrustratingWorks intermittently - sometimes it’s fine and works well. Other times is stops working and half prints paper or double prints paper. At the price of each picture it’s so frustrating to continually waste sheets! At the moment I have the dreaded red and green flashing light which from what I’ve read in the forums means it’s finally died. I’ve reset, updated and still it flashes and half prints paper. The picture quality have never been great but I could put up with that as long as it worked. I had a Polaroid Zink before this and it died after a similar amount of time. ✓ Unable to use the app after updateI love this little photo printer, but after the most recent update my Sprocket will not even connect to the app. There is a new option that says if I have an older model I can connect it a different way, but I’ve still had no luck. It’s extremely frustrating that this device I spent good money on simply doesn’t work because the app is malfunctioning. Please fix the bugs and release another update. The app has a bug where every time I start it up I have to connect it manually to my printer (doesn’t automatically connect it). It also does this thing where it prints the same photo twice. I’ve wasted so much paper due to this problem!! To combat this I have to exit the app, go back to it and delete the picture from the cue before it prints it for the second time. ✓ Low quality printsI am very disappointed in the quality of the prints that come out of this printer. As a photographer I was hoping to give my clients an immediate keepsake the day of their Photoshoot but because of the poor quality this will not happen. What’s the point of the edit feature if the colors come out dull & the photos are very grainy? This is something I’d never recommend to a fellow photographer. ✓ RubbishI bought this for a gift for my children and it was very helpful for school projects. It worked perfectly fine. Printing multiple pictures at a time were not a problem. Now, when I print one picture and I print out a picture right after it, it comes out with the exact same one even tho I picked a different picture. ✓ Not for iPhoneThis doesn’t seem to work with iPhone. I have the 8s running iOS 11.2. Bought the printer yesterday and was able to connect to Bluetooth and discover the device in the app, and check the settings on the printer from the app, but when I print, it just flashes the white LED light, then doesn’t do anything. Shows that the picture is added to the queue, but won’t print. Tried to upgrade the firmware - no luck. It is communicating with the sprocket, but won’t install the firmware. I’ve tried all the solutions recommended - reset the printer, power down the printer, remove the Bluetooth device, reset the iPhone, reconnect....no luck. ✓ Does not connect to my iPhone 11 Pro MaxI literally cannot explain how infuriating this is. I used to have an iPhone X to which my sprocket connect very easily, I switched my phone, worked for the first two times. Now it doesn’t connect to the app or my Bluetooth! It says that the sprocket “isn’t supported”. I wouldn’t be as annoyed at this if I hadn’t seen that multiple other people have had the same issue and all the HP employees say is to “restart the device” or “reset the Bluetooth settings”. CLEARLY it’s not working. If you don’t have helpful advice to give then simply don’t reply! Gosh. ✓ App doesn’t work !The app doesn’t work. There’s nothing wrong with the printer itself I have the 2-in-1 and can take a photo and it prints fine. However the app I have to go into phone settings , “forget” the device, delete and re-install the app EVERY SINGLE TIME I PRINT. Otherwise it says printer not connected. Reconnect .. then it tries to connect for 2 minutes before crashing. This is happening every time I go to print. ✓ Printer isn’t working :(UPDATE: I did everything suggested, and my printer still won’t connect. It looks like lots of people with newer phones have this issue with their older printers. I loved this app, and the pictures were almost always good quality. However, the last few times I’ve tried to reconnect my printer (for some reason the app didn’t remember it) it hasn’t worked. It is an older model, but the app still recognizes it until I try to set it up. It says “configuring” and then says there was a setup error. I forgot the device in my Bluetooth settings like it told me to and followed all other prompts, but it’s still not working. ✓ Do not recommendThis printer worked at first until it updated but it would not let you size your pictures before printing and heads would be cut off. Since the update, it has been completely useless and none of the trouble shooting tips resolved the problem. I even uninstalled the app, reinstalled it, created a new account and still nothing. Even tried reinstalling on multiple cellphones. During the set up process it ask you to select the printer from the “accessory” list but the list is completely BLANK. I contacted the company, they replied back how to “fix” the issue. When I wrote them back informing them the problem still existed, they stopped responding. ✓ Don’t like the change to require internet connectionI have been using my Sprocket for some time now and have been quite happy with it. It has worked well. What I am NOT happy about is that it seems with the last update, the app is now requiring a connection to the internet to work. Why? I only want to print my pictures. Not send them out (or report my usage to anyone). Only a Bluetooth connection should be required to the device. ONLY. I travel a lot and have my data turned off to avoid roaming charges.
