Ripplemaker for Positive User Reviews

Worth it just for a kickBuchla on the go without even touching the price of a Buchla. Honestly bought it to stop being envious of the tip-top Buchla modules and now I’m buying an audio interface just to run this app into a mixer.Version: 1.3.4

Perfect for Kraftwerkian type percussion! One of the best IOS synth apps I come across for getting that resonant electro thip type sound popularized by Kraftwerk back in the 70s which also is very similar to the sounds Chipmunks make when they are warning other chipmunks of a potential danger!.Version: 1.3.2

Kinda like an 0-coast but plays nicer.Near perfect app, just needs an option to adjust note resolution on the sequencer! (Pretty please.).Version: 1.3.2

Active and Responsive Developer, Great Sounds, AUv3 what more could you want!I own every product from this developer. I am in support of developers embracing the AUv3 standard, especially when it sounds this good. Lots of consistency and simple, but powerful control options. Lots of constant updates with new features. Highly recommended..Version: 1.2.1

Another top app from BrambosI always knew I would buy this app one day. A bit like the 0-coast and $500 cheaper, why not! Like all the brambos apps it is exceptionally well done. He is a very experienced programmer and listens to his customers. I use more brambos apps than any other dev's apps at the moment, they are just so easy to use. I wanted a new synth with a different sound and this has it, it's west coast ya'll. Sound quality is amazing as expected, and the manual is well written. The design is neat, intuitive and innovative. Au3 and standalone, full AB3 implementation, universal its all there. Wonderful!.Version: 1.2.1

A must have!Great little synth with all the right feel. Very creative and intuitive to get new sounds. Easy connections to Ableton via Link, inter app connection via AUv3 and AUdiobus 3..Version: 1.0

Exactly what I've been looking forI've been wanting a modular app with more of a West Coast flavor... and this fits perfectly. Though I wouldn't mind a second slope generator to replace the ADSR which would lend itself a bit more to the West Coast style (or a way to switch that module between the two). But that's a minor request, this app is exactly what I've been looking for and overlaps with actual modular gear I have, so I can use it as a sketchpad for real patches. Great job, Thanks!.Version: 1.0

Instant ClassicSounds and looks great, innovative sequencer and responsive developer..Version: 1.0

Sounds greatAll of the Bram Bos apps are worthy purchases. This one sounds surprisingly good and is a very familiar interface for 0 coast owners. I find myself making a generative patch and then just listening to it for way too long..Version: 1.1

Modular tones and fun to goDoes a great job of recreating realistic modular sounds with lots of flexibility. Other than the characteristic sound my favorite part is playing with the sequencer probability triggers..Version: 1.2

Sweet and simple modular synthI've always stayed away from modular synths cause I don't understand them - but thanks to this great app I am able to wet my feet so to speak. Sounds very nice - and a great sequencer with handy randomize features!.Version: 1.0

Just get itBeautiful new app from Bram Bos. All of this devs apps are awesome and well supported. He is very active on the Audiobus forum. Get all of his apps. You will not be disappointed..Version: 1.0

0-coast in your pocket!Simply fantastic. I have a load of modular gear and this with the model 15 means amazing power out and about. Thanks for bringing it to fruition! I can leave the gear at home and compose wherever I want to now..Version: 1.0

My favorite new app!I got this just as a curiosity. I bought it on Monday and after playing with it for a couple of hours decided to make it a central part of my performance on Tuesday. It worked great! And now, with banana style patching, I can see this is going to be fun for a long time. Cheers Bram Bos!.Version: 1.1

Wolf in sheep’s clothing ...On the surface, this looks to be a very simple, bare-bones synth. However, it becomes quite addictive once you get playing with it and start messing with the cables. I have only just started using it and already getting some amazing sounds from this app. This is a lot of fun and great for modular newbies as well as more experienced musos..Version: 1.2.1

Phenomenal synths by this developerSuper responsive. Awesome programming and sounds..Version: 1.2.1

Great SandboxAn absolute delight to tinker with. Especially fun if you're new to modular synthesis as its not too complex and experimenting with patches is rewarding and educational. AUM integration is the icing on the cake. Very happy with this purchase..Version: 1.3.4

Cool synth, not really a playgroundFun and efficient. I opened up this au 30x on my ipad with hardly any cpu load. The only thing i do not like is the filter. I wish it were a nice juicy resonant moog lpf.....Version: 1.3

Special App is SpecialThis app is one of those rare Swiss Army instruments that I use for leads arp bass percussion drums soundscape. I actually begin 75% of my projects with a pulse of 2 notes in RMaker. This is one of those house music tools you can incorporate even into a DJ set as a neat way to spruce up well known and over played tracks. Finally the developer is balls out serious into his business and a smart dude. This is a MUST buy for anyone who does any kind electronic music. Peace.Version: 1.2.1

A unique and compelling palette of timbre’sI’m not often compelled to leave reviews for iOS sound sources but Ripplemaker is as others have commented a wonderfully unique exception to the VA norm. It’s not just something that’s close to the spirit of ‘0-Coast’ modular gear, it competes with and compliments the best of Buchla-esque boutique hardware available today..Version: 1.3

Great instrumentFun synth. Excellent developer response..Version: 1.3.4

Scale modesAwesome but please add Locrian and Mixolydian to scale modes (and possibly even a custom scale option). Locrian in particular would be great..Version: 1.2.1

Unique among iOS synths, and great fun to playAlmost every iOS synth falls into the “East Coast” subtractive synth architecture pioneered by Moog. Ripplemaker stands alone as a “West Coast” synth more in line with a Buchla or Make Noise O Coast. As a consequence, the oscillator and filter are different in character and produce a unique sound. The app sounds great, has ‘normals’ — default signal routing if you choose not to patch it — and provides an enormous amount of fun. On top of that, the developer is an active member of the iOS music community, an enthusiastic user of his own and his competitors apps, always looking to improve, and very responsive to suggestions and feedback. Highly recommended!.Version: 1.1.5

Fabulous if you like to tinkerIf you're just a preset surfer, you might be happier with a different synth app. But if you want to open your horizons to a whole new experience in modular synthesis, and aren't adverse to learning, or at least experimenting, just get this! Bram Bos is a total favorite developer. Everything he does is golden. :) [update 7/18/2017] Bram Bos does it again. He just released a patch to work around a bug in another developer's host app until they provide their own fix! That's beyond the call of duty!.Version: 1.1.3

Love it, wish sequencer was in the AUv3Sounds great and so much fun to use. Truly wish the sequencer was included in the AU. I would use it 10 times more..Version: 1.2.1

Super trippyPlease release more presets for us to explore!.Version: 1.2.1

Get it, is that good!!!Flawless integration with DAW, perfectly designed interface, above all it sounds really great. If you are fed up with standard synths and you want to get something new then this is sure bet as I'm pretty sure everybody will found something magical about this And that pretty much applies to all software from this developer( I believe this guy really knows what every iOS musician need, not like big name company's like korg or propellerheads with updates lagging behind if ever will be released and I mean AUv3 compatibility is must update for all serious synths out there So one more time, you can't go wrong buying this synth Cheers Devs. Looking forward to your new stuff.Version: 1.1.3

I love it.I love everything this developer creates. All apps by you guys are top shelf..Version: 1.3.2

West coast loveBeautiful sounds and a great manual for the modular challenged (me). the krell patch example and explanation alone is worth the price..Version: 1.1.1

A new voiceElegant, fluid, musical. I have been on the edge of my seat waiting for this app, and I am not disappointed. It embodies the kind of gracious organic potential in West Coast machines, while retaining the capacity for all the raucous aggressive sounds that defy imagination. It comes closer to the playable instrument for me in the same way the Animoog does, and does so by resembling the machines that inspired it much more. Can't say enough good things. All the connectivity you could dream of, enough to spur you into new territory. Applause!.Version: 1.0

SurprisingThis app is exactly what I was looking for. Versatile synth and sequencer. Nice modular patching. Extremely easy to use. I was able to start a patch on my iphone and transfer it to my iPad. I like to make 3 min film cues and then add to or edit them elsewhere. What I immediately liked about this app is that its not TOO simple or TOO complex. It generates good random patterns too! And it’s all on one screen. Don’t let the simple interface fool you, this is a powerful unit. I love the west coast “energy” and tone. Its sounds great. My complaints: 1) Ableton link won’t sync phone-and-pad (or anything) and the 2) Bluetooth crashes both units. 3) I wish it would tell you which patch is loaded like other synths do. 4) Also the two different load and save areas took getting used to. Hoping for some minor improvements but overall this is a great synth..Version: 1.4.2

One of the bestThis synth is absolutely superb. It may seem confusing at first, but take the time to experiment with different connections and see how the components act on each other. Once it clicks, you will have a world of possibilities in one ridiculous steal of an app. Or I suppose you could buy a synth module that does the same thing for 800-1500 dollars. 💁🏻‍♂️.Version: 1.3.4

How deep does the rabbit hole go?This is not for the faint of heart or lazy person that just wants quick presets. It's for sound exploration. In order to get the most enjoyment out of this little guy, you need to be an experienced synthesist or aspire to be one. At least you don't have to blow $500+ to find out if that's you..Version: 1.0

Fantastic & integrates with DAWWith iOS11 midi this turns your iPad into a genuinely useful semi-modular synth with a very practical interface and really interesting sounds. The built-in step sequencer is also excellent and the export ability is great for sending a sequence over to the DAW for more sophisticated editing or sequencing a whole song. The only issue I’ve noticed is with the manual tempo controls! If the tempo ends up not a whole number - e.g. 120.5bpm (due to midi sync) it’s impossible to return it to a whole number so that you can properly match a fixed tempo. This can screw up delay etc timings enough to be problematic..Version: 1.1.5

A great intro to modular synthesisI’m not really a modular guy; I always feel like I’m doing it wrong. One thing I love about this synth is that the presets are not only fantastic and well-rounded, but they serve as a starting point for further exploration. And did I mention, the synth sounds great!.Version: 1.3.2

Modular synth for beginners! This is the first modular synth, digital or otherwise, that I’ve experimented with yet. The dev is right in calling his app “intuitive”: I was able to get up and running within an hour. Still exploring the possibilities and am sure many months of fun are ahead..Version: 1.3.2

Addictive creativityI have a few synthesiser apps which are excellent. However, out of them all I find Ripplemaker to be the most addictive and creative of them all. I just can't stop playing with it and creating new sounds, textures and rhythms. It really is unique and exciting. I know something of synth programming but I have to say a lot of this goes over my head but the results of experimenting with parameters are rewarding. I can't wait to see what new updates will be added in the future as it stands, this is an amazing tool!.Version: 1.1.2

It's a modular synth. If you don't know what a modular synthesizer is, you probably shouldn't get this, not unless you're willing to do a little bit of reading and experimenting. The one reviewer rating this poorly makes a good point about this probably not being a great beginner app. But his disappointment could have been avoided had he taken a cursory look at the ins and outs (ha ha) of modular synth patching, etc. If you are familiar at all with serious music making in iOS then you would probably notice right away that the keyboard screenshot displayed is clearly the keyboard in Cubasis. It is un-missable (or at least it should be). In addition, I'm pretty sure most (if not all) of Bram Bros apps are used as audio unit plug-ins in your fave DAW. Duh. So, what I'm trying to say is…please disregard that review. If you have any familiarity with using modulars, you will enjoy this app. I personally like the anachronism of a software instrument that requires you to manually form patches. It's quaint, and while it isn't really an ideal modern workflow (unless you are very familiar with how modular synths work), it is a tried and true interface in which the journey by which you reach a particular patch is just as important as the final sound you create..Version: 1.0

Superb but needs a few improvements...[Edit] Recent update added banana jack-style stacking outputs! Thanks for such a quick addition! [Edit] It's a good west-coast inspired semi-modular. Similar to the MakeNoise 0-Coast I think. Please implement a single row of jacks underneath the current knob/jack UI for some simple attenuverters/mixers. It feels a bit too limited patching wise. Also in that space consider adding some type of clock divide and multiply feature for gates/clocks. Or even if there were a way to attenuate and invert each patch cable on the way to its destination somehow. A way to sync/divide/multiply the Sample & Hold rate with a clock/square wave input. An input to the Sample and Hold. Noise normaling is great by default, but an override input to replace it with another module output would be ideal. Also have noise as a separate output. Please add a gate input jack for the cycle button on the slope generator to turn it on/off. I love this feature of Maths in eurorack and it would do well here. Another great addition would be cv over the delay parameters. Possibly add a second audio rate oscillator to complement the existing one would be nice to free up the slope generator for other duties when doing standard cross modulation west-coast FM Patches. I use a hardware eurorack format modular, so the patching versatility is really important to me. The more CV control, the better. Still a fun app to use as is. And you can certainly make some cool tunes easily with this app! Thanks for the synth. Make it just a bit better if you can please. :).Version: 1.1.1

Brilliant / Top Notch Developer and AppsAll Bram Bros apps are my go to apps in Cubasis 2. They all work seamlessly as AU. Helping me create music I could only dream of with my synth hardware. Developer is number one in my book! Cheers and thanks!!.Version: 1.3
