Skipping silence, downloading things in advance, deleting automatically, sharing with people right in the app. So many great features. I tried using the built in podcast app on my phone. ✓ It’s ok, needs better functionalityThe feature of being able to share your queue with others is really cool and interesting. My husband and I have been using it to see what each other are listening to. My only issue is I wish there was a way to immediately skip to the next episode in a series without having to navigate all the way back to the show page, scroll around and find the episode I’m listening to, and then play that way. If there was a next episode button it would be 1000x better..Version: 0.9.11
✓ Loved this for awhile, but download issues continueI love the concept of this app and have used it for some time. The download function has bugs and has for some time — it is not always actually DL’d even when it says it is, and sometimes upon opening won’t actually DL new episodes even when forced. Also have issues with Skipping forward toward the end of a podcast — sometimes it will skip to the next show in queue, auto-archiving the episode I was trying to listen to..Version: 0.7.9

✓ Great app overall but need some bugs fixedI love using Breaker, the social features and podcast discovery, but the issue with play/pause ultimately has become a deal breaker. ✓ Great innovations!I love the many innovative features this podcast app has! There is a simple, not overbearing, social aspect. I love the recommendations it gives based on listening patterns! Some are obvious but others are not. What the app needs is better audio quality and more easily customized playlists. I’m a podcast junkie. I’m used to fiddling with podcast apps to get them to do what I want. There were a few things in regards to playlists and selections that took me a while to figure out. ✓ Not the best out thereThe only reason I am still using this up is the variety of speeds to play compare to other apps. On the other hand the app is constantly eating data even if I download the episodes on Wi-Fi. The already downloaded episodes constantly start downloading again, regardless of where I stoped listening the app is starting them from the begging, so I need to reload the app again in order to fix the problem-very annoying and unnecessary even dangerous when driving !.Version: 5.0.20

✓ Best podcast appMade the switch from overcast because the audio kept crashing; this app runs all my podcasts smooth as butter, and the only thing I miss about overcast was the ability to make multiple playlists, although having the one breaker playlist has forced me to trim down my podcast subscriptions to only the ones I really enjoy, so that’s ok. ✓ Stitcher is great, but...I enjoy using Breaker more than Stitcher or Apple’s Podcast app, both of which I used for years. I find it easier/quicker to navigate (important when I’m on public transport) and find it easier to discover new episodes and shows. ✓ FussyI really wanted to like Breaker—and to be fair, the social aspects of the app are the closest I’ve seen to what I want out of a podcast app. People don’t actually seem to be using those tools to be social yet, but that could just be an in progress network effect/critical mass thing. I run into too many bugs and confusing situations for me to recommend it to friends, though. My main complaint is that downloading episodes ahead of time rarely works out, which makes the app all but useless for me. ✓ Room for improvement, but still way better than Apple’s podcast appGive me the podcast all Apple had out originally, and I’d be happy. Breaker is a great alternative to the app that Apple ruined- all my episodes download when they should and are easy to locate. My issue lies with being able to delete an episode after listening. The episode “disappears” from the playlist and you have to go into subscriptions to find it, and you still can’t do much with it there. If you don’t listen to all (or any) of an episode, it remains in the playlist, and you can swipe left to remove it from your playlist....but it’s not deleted from your phone (exists in subscription area). Not sure if I’m missing something that’s right in front of me, or if this was just overlooked. A welcomed feature would be to be able to share an episode with people not on Breaker- sometimes I would email myself the episode to know to come back to it, and sometimes i would like to share it with others (who don’t use Breaker). Being able to create multiple playlists would be a bonus, too!.Version: 0.7.9
✓ Great Features but poor performanceBreaker had a great set of features and I really want to use it but the performance of basic interactions is painful. Solid listening experience but scrolling etc is slow. I can fee my device heating up while using it too. As of v1.05, the performance is hampering this otherwise great app. Hopefully this will help the devs prioritise improvements to UI responsiveness and I can recommend it fully in the coming releases..Version: 1.0.5

✓ Must listen!Peter Levin does a wonderful job interviewing Tobias Peggs of Square Roots. I like the relax manner of the dialogue between Peter and Tobias. As an immigrant to US, I can completely agree with Tobias that when you create a business somewhere outside of US and your company doe not succeed, you become a failure with ZERO prospects for the future success. ✓ Great concept but some play/pause issuesI love the idea to try and get listening to podcasts to be a more social activity with “like” and “comment” functionality and a easy way to mark episodes as listened! Unfortunately I think I’m going to have to go back to Apple podcasts because playing and pausing from the iPhone lock screen is inconsistent. I’ll hit pause, the screen will indicate it is paused but the audio continues! Navigate into the app and sometimes it’s frozen. If it does pause successfully, and then I play it again from the lock screen, it seems like the app often doesn’t track my progress through the episode any more. All very frustrating. I really hope the developers can fix this issue and I’ll come right back!.Version: 1.1.1

✓ Amazing UX but with some glitchesThis year I was all into Podcasts. I switched from Apple Podcasts to Overcast, and lately to Breaker. Huge change! Love the user interface and social experience and overall shows/episodes management. However, have found more than usual glitches re corrupt audio, podcast switching back several minutes while listening and trouble downloading old episodes (not while streaming) - never experienced these on aforementioned apps. ✓ Great app to find new titlesFrom day one I really liked this app as it quickly allowed me to find new titles and view/download latest from my subscriptions. My only issue would be the performance of the application. It can sometimes get very slow and unusable. ✓ Great but has some frustrating bugs.Great app all around. Two things that could use some more work are the search function and more bug removal. The search itself isn’t the worst but sometimes it takes almost until the last letter of a podcast title for it to find the correct one, not very intuitive. The bugs can be a bit frustrating, some of the worst ones I get are toward the end of episodes that have been in a playlist for a while, they often will loop at random intervals. Three minutes will go by then that same 3 minutes will play once more. The absolute worst however is that your progress on an episode will often get deleted. This isn’t normally a huge issue, but with shows like Hardcore History that sometimes have nearly 3 hour episodes having to routinely scrub through to find my position is aggravating..Version: 0.9.15
✓ I love it so much!There’s so many things I love. Let’s try to break it down. History I love having a history of everything I listen to with the date I listened to them. I love logs and stats! Likes I love giving a ❤️ on episodes I like and enjoy. I can also view on my profile all the episodes I’ve liked if I ever want to look back. Friends who follow me can also see what I like and liked episodes feed into Breaker’s algorithm of “Hot episodes 🔥” which are shared to the community. So, if a lot of people like something it’s going to get recommended and makes it easier to find something cool to listen to. Credits I love you can be credited for an episode. I’ve been a guest on a few episodes so I get a credit on those which shows up on the episode and my profile. And friends can get notified when I’m on something with a push notification. Comments You can comment on episodes at specific timestamps which makes engaging with an episode fun. You can also tag other users in the comments, including hosts if they have a profile. Friends I already mentioned friends a bit, but if you connect the app with your Twitter and Facebook it’s a breeze to find friends and followers already on there. You can also message friends episodes you think they might like and they’ll get it added to their queue. Makes it much easier than having to send a link or just a name and episode and someone having to look it up. Additionally, you get a feed of what your friends listen to, subscribe to, like, and comment on. I’ve found a lot of cool episodes this way. If you’re not into sharing your activity you can make your account private too. Subscriptions You can subscribe to shows you like and see how many episodes you’ve listened to. You can also mute a show if you don’t want it automatically adding to your queue but do want to bookmark it. Search There is excellent search for shows. You can find just about anything. In the rare care you can’t, you add a link from iTunes or the RSS feed to add it to Breaker. Design The design is fun and consistent, which makes it enjoyable to use. Receptive The makers of the app are very receptive to feedback and genuinely care about the user experience and making it better all the time. I should know, I’ve probably sent more feedback and support requests then most. I am always met with warmth and gratitude and have had many of things I’ve brought up worked on! Host Support They’ve also added features to help hosts monetise their episodes with premium episodes and I believe they are beginning to add Patreon support to benefit hosts who like to use the service to receive listener support that way. Overall, it’s an excellent platform for both listeners and hosts because they care about both and keep doing more in this space all the time..Version: 0.8.1
✓ We Make Sounds PodcastsOk These CV19 Virus stays seem low. Gear up reporting good but you need more science quotes and not from non degrees science but jobs a lot out there. Lab Updates w numbers and opinions findings vac testing etc. A little music background might be nice or interesting sounds instead. Good Work. ✓ Weird issueHi Breaker team, I have an odd issue I can’t quite figure out. Sometimes when I need to pause the app it won’t work. The audio keeps playing but the time indicator and symbol says stopped. Hitting the now paused symbol will jerk playback to an earlier time. I do see that hitting play, pause starts this off cycle and it will continue from there. Just letting ya know. Love the app and the new icon. ✓ 4 starsUsually I use the pocket casts app but always have breaker downloaded on my phone because I like the app but the pocket casts app is just easier to use in my opinion. breaker would get 5 stars but it’s difficult and takes too many “clicks” to find what podcasts I have downloaded. I tried to tweet and ask about that but I couldn’t find an account so I did it here. 4 stars isn’t bad and I totally will still use it as my back up or to just play around with but unfortunately right now pocket casts is more streamlined imo.Version: 0.9.5

✓ Better than mostSwitched to iPhone recently and have been having trouble finding a good podcast app (which seems absurd). This one is the best I’ve found but still has some annoying quirks. I like to download episodes since I travel a lot. This app adds episodes to my playlist, but it doesn’t always download them. Even when I force it to download and watch it complete the download, I will go back later and it will show that it isn’t downloaded. Where does it go? I just watched it complete the download. Frustrating! Also, I listen to most podcasts oldest to newest, but a few current event podcasts I want to listen to when they are released. ✓ Discovery is killer feature!Just started using this app and may already be a convert. Long time user of pocket casts, (which still has a fantastic playback UI) I think that new episode discovery is a feature I’ve never realized I needed so badly until now. I’m not so much a ‘social’ fan (I don’t feel the need to comment on a podcast, and even recently deleted Facebook) but the ability to see which podcasts are popular/trending from within the app is really helping me find new shows and episodes outside of my usual comfort zone of podcasts..Version: 0.6.13
