✓ Could have been great, but constant video ads ruin itIf you like being Interupted constantly to hear Budge’s (the company that makes this game) video appeals for money and “buy this game now!” then you’ll love this game. If you’re hoping to build a track for Thomas and friends with your kid and have them learn from a puzzle, then good luck with that. The interruptions are constant and annoying and it’s really disappointing that the Thomas property would be licensed to such a blatant and constant money grab of an app. Could have been good. ✓ Enchanted Valley GlitchMy son loves this game and I have bought a few in app tracks for him however I have just bought Diesels Enchanted Valley and there is a glitch with the ‘red terrain drawer’. ✓ Good, but...My toddler loves this game but even after paying full price for all of the DLC it still has a button that opens ads for other Budge games. What does this mean? I still can’t sit him down with this without him getting off onto a screen he doesn’t need to be on and getting stuck there. So he plays for a few minutes, hits the “B” button, then whines because it goes to an ad. So I have to stop what I’m doing and get it back to the game. ✓ WARNING WARNING WARNING!!!Parents read before you download! This app is amazing, super high quality and so much fun. However, to unlock the entire thing it costs over $70. Sure, there are bits you can play for free but the app is constantly showing your child all the things that have to be paid for, so either they are constantly disappointed and frustrated or bugging you to drop more and more money to unlock it all. Honestly if the entire game was $20 it would be worth it, without a doubt I would have unlocked it all. I actually did this with another Thomas racing game, where $20 unlocked the entire game, which felt worth it to me. But this game feels unethical and gross. Which is such a shame because it’s a truly wonderful game. ✓ A fun premise but big problemAs an idea, this is a good game, make train sets, collect cogs, and unlock new items, it sounds really fun. The problem is the pay to continue aspect. After completing the starter Thomas pack, there is nothing left to unlock if you don’t want to pay, and the Thomas pack only takes about 20 minutes to unlock anyway. It would be best if you could pay to have them, or simply keep unlocking, more and more and more stuff. On top of this, there is a constant succession of ads… around every 30 seconds there will be an ad for another budge game, and from what I can guess, they also have these problems. Also, if you buy the full game, don’t be fooled, the ads will still be there. I’m only dreading the “All Engines Go” update like with Magic Tracks (another Thomas game) Overall, very promising, but if you want to keep it free, it’ll only entertain your kid for half an hour before they nag you to buy something..Version: 2021.3.0

But it has relentless advertising for more Budge Studios Games and these are all directed to your kid, who of course wants them. All of these myriad games all have at least another $20 of in app purchases required just to play the game. Budge practices predatory advertising to children (5 year old in my case). This is grossly irresponsible. Shame on you Budge, you know better! Shame on you Apple for letting these hawks loose on the kids! Worse still, I moved my kids iPad to a family sharing child account to better manage devices and the $20 unlock can not be restored. Apple support says call Budge. ✓ Six-year Old still plays itMy younger son is huge Thomas fan as well as trains in general. For about six months, this was his preferred game for when he was allowed screen time. And, although he hasn’t played it quite as often, he still picks it up and enjoys it. Admittedly, the overall cost of the game with its DLC is prohibitive if you buy it individually; however, we started using DLC unlocks as part of a reward system, which ended up being perfect. ✓ WARNING to parents from a parentThis game would get 5 stars if it didn’t, in my opinion, have a very unethical approach to in-app content. My three and a half year old loves the game. But it is literally IMPOSSIBLE for me as a parent to give him a version that doesn’t MAKE him ask for more. And that puts me on the hook for maybe $100. There is no free version here. Maybe to an adult looking at it. But to a kid, they just see a) all locked content as a part of the main navigation and b) continuous internal ads for that content. Repeat: Paying for content does NOT remove ads that are just a part of this app. And that’s a shame, because frankly, my kid loves it and I can’t afford all of it, so I’m gunna have to delete it. ✓ Fun. Worth $10 for DLCI’m a teenager and I still play this because it’s just FUN, and as a kid I would love watching episodes of Thomas. I don’t know if nostalgia is the word, but there’s some almost sentimental value to this game and just something about playing with toys and building stuff with them that’s calming. All without spending, what, like ~$100 on all the Mini toys? (Edit:) $20 bucks?? Not what it said a second ago... And no more tables to build on??? Hmmm.... Add, like, 20 tables or something big like that and I will put a higher star rating. It’s misleading, having the boxes on the table and also the prices displaying incorrectly. (Though the prices having difficulty displaying is easily forgivable).Version: 1.2
