✓ American specific Questions limit your audienceI love this game, the improvements the app/game have made since it first started have been great! My one gripe with this game is the amount of American specific questions. It limits the global reach this game has. And it’s incredibly frustrating to answer a bunch of challenging questions, only to be undone by some random question about an American Vice Presidents twin brothers birthday, or the mascot of a US college football team. ✓ The best trivia game app there is !Win free money daily . Hqtrivia offers you free live streaming trivia games. A host will guide you through a series of 12 to 25 questions . Each and every one of the hosts are very entertaining. I continue watching even after I know I can’t win because the hosts make me laugh out loud. My favorite is Matt Richards , who usually does the main game . He will entertain you with song , and occasionally with dance. Funny , funny man . For those who like sports trivia, they offer hqsports , another host walks everyone through the same format. HqWords is a different game , a mix of wheel of fortune and hangman. There is a game for everyone. Although they use the best technology available, there are still the occasional hiccups. Imagine trying to run FaceTime with several hundred thousand friends , they manage to do that a couple times a day each and every day. ✓ Stop complainingI don’t write reviews often.. but reading the negative reviews of this app has compelled me to speak my mind. This is a fantastic app. A great idea with great execution. It specifically tells you what you need to play, and for those with weak WiFi or crappy cellphone carriers that are complaining about the lag- please guide your complaints towards the right service, because it’s not the app. I have Sprint, and regular WiFi, and I have never had an issue while playing the game. (I have played several times while out with my husband and not connected to WiFi at all, no issue) On the second most common negativity: the hosts. Scott is great, but not everyone will agree- who cares? I don’t like the woman as much, she comes across rehearsed. Scott does not. It’s all a matter of opinion and I’m sure there have been game shows throughout the years with hosts that have been less than liked. Personally, I never liked Regis Philbin... but that’s not a reason to say Who Wants to be a Millionaire was a bad show. Get over it..Version: 1.2.18
✓ Fun and addictingI love this game! It’s fun and gives me and my friends something to look forward too and sometimes also my students. You have to keep in mind there are millions of people playing and sometimes the game is going to lag, maybe it’s your WiFi or phone or maybe it’s the MAJOR population of players. You have to keep it in mind that a game like this has never been done before and it’s amazing these people have been constantly working on it for our ultimate experience. And the hosts, yeah they may chat but that’s what makes the game interesting and they give interesting information. Any game show the players and hosts talk, it would be boring if he just said ok hi let’s play and the game ends in 2 minutes. ✓ The host is god awful.I enjoy playing HQ- when it isn’t Scott. I like to think of myself as a positive person who hates no one, except Scott freakin Rogowski (or however its spelled, you think I’d know after hearing him say it fifty times in a game). He is the epitome of annoying. He rambles on with useless nonsense while hundreds (sometimes a million+) are waiting to answer trivia. His entire persona is just obnoxious and not funny to say the least. While he’s rambling on there’s plenty of people complaining on the chat for him to shut up and get on with it- which I agree with. Some people are at work, some at school, and the last thing they want to deal with while trying to be productive and play HQ is waiting five plus minutes listening to this bozo make stupid puns. PLEASE FIRE HIM. or at least schedule him for less shows. ✓ Good app, but...Whilst it’s a fun trivia game, as someone from the UK - keep in mind there used to be a UK trivia on this app - I struggle to be able to participate in the questions as I’m not American and don’t understand a lot of the trivia. With that said though, I am learning new things every day - just wish they’d bring the UK show back. ✓ HQ is great, keeps getting betterLove the new formats, new shows, new hosts, HQ evolves and still has a feel to it like you’re part of something special. I’ve seen some reviews criticizing the chat. The chat is not the sea of negativity and objectification of hosts some want to describe it as. You can also very, very easily turn it off. The chaos of the chat is one of the things that adds to the experience and makes it feel like an exclusive community. There’s a time honored tradition of trolls spamming the wrong answers in the chat, and just as time honored as that is the tradition of people who make the mistake of taking that advice. It’s amazing, it’s fun, and it’s like nothing else out there. The chat can be negative, they can be overly critical of hosts, but it’s mostly people meme-ing, complimenting Roisman’s fashion sense as well as the fact she’s gorgeous as long as she’s not singing. Leave the singing to “question five, ah, ah, ah, ah, question five!l”. The hosts are great, people in chat just like to troll and also have undying crushes on Rogowski. That’s it. The game also lays the law down - “STAY CHILL IN THE CHAT!”. HQ is five stars and we don’t need PC police to save the innocent from the chat. ✓ This app is the future of interactive media.First of all, for the people giving one or two star reviews simply because you don't want to give out your phone number to this "unknown" company, this "unknown" company were actually the creators of Vine, one of the most unique social media apps of its time. The technology used behind this app is incredible and though buggy at times, has the potential to be completely revolutional. Think about this technology being applied to modern day talk shows like the Ellen Show, and her hosting a game like this with millions of viewers at home in an elimination-style game, and with just a simple camera feature, Ellen could ask for your permission to video stream right onto her show. The technology behind this is awesome, it's a really fun game that PAYS to play with absolutely no pay-to-play. I don't see how ANYONE can rate this less than 5 stars no matter how glitchy it is. ✓ Great game, three major problemsThis game is great but there are three things preventing me from giving it 5 stars. The first is lag. The app needs to be built stronger. Additionally, the screen can be blurry sometime which I suspended has to do with their system not being able to hold so many people. My second issue is not being able to change my answer. If time hasn’t run out then I should be able to change my answer. It is ridiculous that I can’t change it if I press the wrong thing by accident. The third thing is the length of the game. I enjoy Scott’s jokes but the games seem to be getting longer and longer. It shouldn’t take 30 minutes to do 12 ten-second questions. If HQ Trivia can fix these three things then I will change my rating to 5 stars. I highly recommend this app because it’s a lot of fun, I just need to see these changes be made. ✓ Trivia HeroinThis game is so addictive! I’m sure you garnered that from my title, but it had to be stated again. The time of day for regular trivia (8pm C) is perfect for my schedule! Make sure to turn on your push notifications. That way, in case you get busy or simply have old lady brain (I’m only 36), the app will send you a few reminders (10 minutes before, 5 minutes before, right at 8:00, and again at 8:05 when the game actually begins). I’ve been playing for about 8 months now and I haven’t won any money yet (you split your winnings with the other winners) but I’ve been very close several times! The best nights are the movie/television themed trivia on Mondays and other random days. I almost won the The Office, The Simpsons, Gilmore Girls, and Friends trivia. ✓ Great Game; Slight GlitchsMy wife and I love playing this game everyday. I actually take my 15 min break from work every afternoon with my co-workers and take a stab at winning some cash. Have not had a problem until the 2 o'clock game today though. I was on question two and it asked a question about the meaning of Greek word meaning nose horn and it gave three different animal names with rhinoceros being one of the three answers. Logically I answered this by pushing it and it lit up blue as if I selected it and she revealed the answer as rhinoceros but yet it said that I was eliminated due to selecting the wrong answer... Not sure what is up with that but I emailed the help on the app to see if they know about this minor glitch to get it resolved in case it is happening to other people. ✓ Great and Original-The Current Generation Family FuedI can say that I’ve been playing this game since November of this year and man is it “first of all” addictive and the schedule for this game helps as well, for weekdays the games are held 6 hours apart from each other (3PM EST and 9PM EST) and on the weekends, they have the 9PM EST game which honestly for me, makes it very convenient to tune in and play. I’ve also never seen any other app like it. There are some problems once and a while, but for the most part, they’ve ironed them out really well and continue to iron them. They try their best to give everyone a fair chance at winning or splitting the cash prize. They do a great job on adding features and mostly bug fixes to make the experience even better than previously. I also like how it’s evolved so much over just the past month. The HQ developers do in fact work on the game and they push updates regularly so now the game CAN handle the ever-growing 700k+ people that are tuning in to play so don’t worry about problems with lag much and if so, the question tab will appear either way. In my opinion, the host is extremely funny and makes light of any situation. I WOULDN’T consider him to be annoying or cringing. ✓ Love, love, love my HQ TRIVIA game!!!I’ve been playing for a couple of years now, and I literally stop whatever I’m doing every night at 6pm in order to play. I do it because it’s fun, you can win money, and because Matt and the chat, in a way, especially during the pandemic, have become like an online game “family,” or community. I feel as if I don’t “see” them every evening, I would miss them. And, as Matt says, what other app gives you the chance to win money for free just for logging in? None except HQ, that I know of! I also love that since the game has returned after being offline for a few months, a charity is highlighted each & every night. And, HQuties can recommend charities that we would like to see featured! I think this is a great addition to the game, and I’m happy to donate to many of these charities. Thank you for the opportunity to give back to worthy causes, HQ! Sure, there are glitches sometimes, and some people get annoyed with Matt’s singing. But I love Matt, and I’m happy to overlook all the other issues unless they persist continuously (but things seem to get fixed very quickly under the new owners). This is such an innovated and original app that feels futuristic and also has subtle notes of the technology from “Black Mirror” without the dangerous or life threatening aspects! I have noticed a few spots that could be improved or developed upon however. •The leaderboards are not the best depiction of who is the wittiest or trivia wiz. The reason is due to the unpredictability of how many winners there are per show and how much money each player gets at the end. •There is hardly anything else I could ask for from this app and the developers except a option to group up with friends or people near by. This functionality could be designed to have a maximum of 12 teammates(since there’s only 12 Q’s a show) and for every Q asked- a teammate is selected to answer. ✓ It's good but...I like the game a lot, it's fun and it has helped me a bit to get into quizzing. You can even submit your own questions, which is pretty cool. However, what I don't understand is how some people are not given warnings for spam and giving out misleading content? You can hide the chat by swiping left, but still, whenever I do keep an eye on the chat after I have lost a game or whatever, there seems to be no chat regulation so people can spam all they want even though it is against the terms and conditions. There should be some moderators in the chat to tell people not to spam or give out false answers and if they carry on they should be kicked out of the game.
