Used to be goodI used to love this app. I relied on it daily and told all my friends it was a necessity. For the past year or so I’ve had consistent problems with the app asking me to log in over and over again, as well as just not loading. I’ve been halfway through planning a week, had to restart the app (and log in again) only to find out that nothing I did was saved. I really really want this app to work. I spoke with support a year ago and was told the issue was that I used Facebook to login. So we changed my login. It worked for a while and now we’re back to pulling teeth. Annoying because I rely on this app and all my recipes are already in there..Version: 22.4.1

Constantly crashing and signing me outEverytime I open the app it’s logged me out of my account. When I login it allows me to see my plan but if I switch screens everything is blank. When I close out of the app and respond it hoping it will refresh my information it has logged me out again. When accessing recipes through the app on blogs or the internet video ads will constantly pop up and go full screen without any interaction with them. Even if I exit the ad and report it another ad replaces it and forces me to watch it full screen. It’s impossible to read the recipe this way. Great app with features that would be incredibly helpful and useful, if they actually worked and didn’t bombard me with ads which prevent the app from being any sort of functional..Version: 22.6.1

Just okayI was really excited to try this app due to some comparisons I had seen for a few different apps but I’m so disappointed! The interface is so different from the review videos I have seen but they were from a year ago. The newer interface doesn’t allow you to sort by skill type or avoiding ingredients, not allergies but just ingredients you don’t like, and it looks like a lot of the more attractive features have migrated behind a pay wall. Oh well, I’ll have to try something else..Version: 21.2.1

Doesn’t change orientation.I love this app on my phone, but on my ipad I have quickly uninstalled it because frankly, I don’t like to use apps that won’t account for portrait vs. landscape screen orientations. It seems like such a simnple oversight that would improve usability exponentially. If this is changed in the future I will reinstall and update my rating..Version: 2.22

Buggy & now best features are behind a paywallWhen I first started using this app over a year ago, it seemed like exactly what I was looking for. I loved that I could save & modify recipes from online and share them with friends. There were numerous bugs (issues with adding photos, recipes never being removed no many how many times I deleted them or refreshed the app, no response from devs after numerous attempts to contact them about said issues), but I kept using it because it still seemed like the best option. Today, I log in to find that I can no longer view MY OWN directions on a recipe I adapted without paying for premium service. Given that the issues I’ve add with the app from Day 1 still have not been resolved and now I can’t even access my own content without paying for it, I will be deleting the app..Version: 20.6.10

Fabulous Design, Wonderful App, Wretched LogonIf you can manage to stay logged on, this is a great resource. This is EASILY a 5-star app... if I weren’t locked out right now. Seems to be a habitual problem. Hope you can fix it, as I’m currently without all the recipes I’ve curated. This is a major problem with the subscription apps. I paid for the year membership, but I have no access. If I purchased (and therefore owned) the app, there’d be no logon to contend with. I hope my hard work has not been lost forever! I’ll definitely update when I get access again. Love it when it works, hate it right now. Dinnertime/no recipe for dinner tonight! Looks like frozen dinners. UPDATE: Several weeks later, still multiple, multiple problems with logon. Suggestion: until you get the logon situation fixed, you should just make the service free to everyone. I hate that I paid for this otherwise mostly excellent service, but struggle under its burdensome logon. Another suggestion... work on the search function. I’m typing in a recipe’s exact name, but still can’t find it! If the list were alphabetized, that would help, too! I want to love this service, and I do... when it works properly, which isn’t very often. I can’t be the only one with this problem... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE FIX IT!.Version: 21.2.2

Not as good now with the 3 limited cook modeI’m really bummed about the “upgrade” on the app. I cannot afford another subscription right now to unlimited cook modes. This app is great for saving time and remembering where you left off when you’re busy cooking or baking with little kids in the home! But the reason I rated it lower is that there’s a limit to only 3 “cook modes” a week - you can’t even preview the cooking instructions unless you click cook mode (which then wastes one of your 3 for the week!) and i often base my decisions on what to make off of how easy/simple the cooking instructions are along with what materials/methods are needed. Also when in cook mode, I’ve randomly gotten kicked out of it and what do you know... if you go back to the SAME recipe you were JUST working on it makes you waste another one of your 3 chances. At least let us access the same recipe all day or week please!.Version: 20.6.10

Meal plan subscriptions need workI hate meal planning so I was really excited that I could subscribe to a service that would do it for me. However the only subscription that actually gives you breakfast, lunch, and dinner is super healthy kids. (I don’t have kids.) The clean eating, veggie, and paleo ones are all just dinner. The easy family meal plan is supposed to give you breakfast lunch and dinner but it comes up blank when you subscribe. If you have kids this I could see this working well, but if you want adult meals it’s less effective..Version: 2.11

Updates have ruined the experienceI used to LOVE this app, and have used it for years for meal planning and grocery shopping. It took me *months* to add recipes and modify them the way I use them, but the time investment was generally worth it because of the usefulness of the app, so I was ok with that. Whatever happened with this new update has completely ruined the experience. They are pushing Prepare Gold so much that I can’t use what I had already invested in my time. Now I have to sign in every time I open the app, navigate too many ads for Prepare Gold to get to what I want, and when I do get there and I can’t get in to my cookbooks at all. On the rare occasion I CAN see my recipes, I can only see pictures of them but not the ingredients. Which means I can’t use it any more to meal plan, create a grocery list, etc. The app is completely useless to me now. There are Gold advertisements everywhere, which is annoying. I know they want me to buy the full version, but now I don’t want to out of spite. I’m so disappointed. They had a good product, and now I’m not sure what I’m going to do. All I know is that, because of the way this was handled, I would now rather invest in another program and start from scratch than I would pay for Gold..Version: 21.9.1

ConfusingI tried this app because I wanted to make eating and shopping for groceries more efficient. The value proposition seems fairly straight forward, until: I didn’t really understand what “cook mode” was at first, but it’s attached to a large pricetag and basically, they withhold the cooking instructions from you after you use it three times. I don’t think it’s worth the cost of the year but fair enough. There’s a marketplace for bloggers, nutritionists and I purchased a meal plan for 25 dollars and instantly regretted it. You can’t see the recipes(for obvious reasons) and a lot of them weren’t great. Even the pictures looked unprofessional for what I would consider to a digital cookbook or meal plan. Definitely feel like I’ve been ripped off here. In terms of efficiency, I can’t say that using this service is any better than just building an excel spreadsheet yourself. The grocery list feature is okay. There doesn’t seem to be an obvious way to share this stuff with anyone else in your household or nanny, it could be there but I didn’t see it. The big issue is that I don’t think this app understands who it’s targeting, because if it wants people that are willing to pay 120-200 a year for an app to make things more efficient they show no signs of it. I can tell you after exploring this app, I would be scared to use it and waste a significant chunk of my time..Version: 20.10.3

BuggyI used to use this app religiously every single week. I loved the connection with the Walmart app and it made meal planning so easy! Recently they updated it and you can only view 3 recipes a week, which I loved with. Then it got really buggy and won’t load things like recipes, planners, or cookbooks. It became really frustrating when I plan something for dinner and then a few days later can’t access it. I truly loved this app and told everyone about it, but now it’s virtually unusable..Version: 21.2.2

Used to be Awesome—Not AnymoreI loved this app when I first bought it last December! But the past few months it has just gotten worse and worse. I have to log in EVERY time I enter the app—even if I’m just moving between open apps on my phone. They did a major update two days ago, but none of the issues that I’ve been having were fixed. And on top of all of that, I lost ALL of my planned meals for the upcoming week. I’m so frustrated that I bought an entire year’s worth of the app. Unless there are some major changes for Apple users, I will not be renewing it. (And at this point, just want a pro-rated refund!).Version: 21.6.2

Only good if you upgradeI’ve enjoyed this app for a little while but recently let my subscription lapse. The paid version is great, but the free one is utterly useless. You can see ingredients but not the recipe. It send you to the individual blog and you have to scroll through all the nonsense to even get to the recipe. At this point it becomes Pinterest and not a useful place to cook from. Still giving it some stars because the paid version is pretty good. The super healthy kids meal plans are nice and take the work out from figuring out a menu..Version: 20.9.6
