✓ Pay to get your notifications earlier lolThis is just made by scalpers who, instead of buying out your stuff directly, charges you to be able to buy stuff they scalped..刘博宇Version: 1.0.145

✓ Not fit for purposeFree version only lets you save one item for stock alerts, you have to pay a subscription if you want any more. It gives inaccurate information about item availability, it kept listing the Dyson Airwrap as being in stock at several retailers yet when I clicked the links they all showed as sold out. It also said it was only able to check stock and send alerts when the app was open - when it was closed an error message came up saying items could not be monitored or alerts sent when the app was shut down. What’s the point in that? The whole idea of having an app such as this is to alert you as soon as the product you want becomes available. It’s not feasible to have an app open all the time or to keep checking it every five minutes in the hope your item is back in stock. I ended up getting an Airwrap after Curry’s emailed me to say it was back in stock. It’s a great idea however the app needs a bit of work before it’ll .lane fit for purpose. ✓ Literally doesn’t workEvery time I try to do anything, even as simple as logging in or creating an account, I just get a yellow bar at the top of the screen (which is poor UI since the message is half hidden behind my freaking camera notch) telling me something about not being able to reach HotStock servers. I was also ready and willing to pay for the top premium service, but this makes me think this thing is unreliable. EDIT: After finally being able to create account (had to use the Mac OS app, as the iOS app continues to have issues “connecting to Hotstock servers,” I have realized some other issues. For one, the app doesn’t let you input anything; you can only get alerts for the items that they have already selected as hot items. This list does have some sought after items like the PlayStation Portal and NVIDIA GPUs, but the list is still relatively small. This app is just very very limited in functionality, and even more so unless you pay for the subscription fee, which is outrageous unless you just REALLY REALLY want a PlayStation Portal..UntdrewVersion: 1.0.174

✓ Poor customer supportI hate to do this, because the app can be awesome. But in the last month I stopped receiving any notifications on HotStock. I went through the notification test multiple times, and have every setting set up properly. Still, nothing. And the test item notification would not work either. So I reached out to support and they ‘switched’ something on their end so notifications would go to my phone instead of iPad. It began working. I then asked for a refund for the time it didn’t work. And they responded by saying ‘Akkktcually, it was working all along, alerting your last used device and consuming our resources, so no, you don’t get a refund’. Let me inform you: No, I did not receive a single notification on ANY device. Further, my ‘last used device’ is my phone. I almost never use my iPad. Ridiculous. So frustrating to not be refunded or even considered! So, instead of refunding me $3 (which would be fair to me), you mistate the facts, and tell me to bugger off. ✓ Search is uselessTrying to add alerts to find the Nintendo Switch N64 controller. The website has a button to make app alerts but it just brings you to the App Store page, it isn’t linked to the app on your phone. So that doesn’t work. ✓ Forcing PremuimI wouldn’t put your faith fully into using this to get stuff, especially if it’s a console. Comments on items pages are only allowed by PREMIUM users who have paid, so it’s VERY misleading when first time users look. PAYING users get notifications BEFORE free users, so by the time you’re notified, there’s a high chance all stock is gone and the scalpers have nabbed the item. So basically this app is heavily pushing paying for it. The questions you need to ask yourself are; Is it worth paying for an app you’ll probably only use once then delete? Is it extremely important I get that item by Christmas? Do I have patience to wait a bit longer for it to become more available? Time passes fast and things will become available again.
