✓ Don’t be scared...off by reports of a glitch in the hints system. This delightful adventure is intuitive enough that you can figure it out and if need be, the developer is very responsive. My biggest stumbling point was the musical tool box and I’ll give you this hint for that: examine everything in your inventory carefully front to back, then find the place where your inventory items fit just right. Nothing is obscure or a trick you’d never think of. No brain-busting difficulty. Beautiful graphics, smooth play, and a story that’s sweet and engaging. ✓ Good fun!This was, like its predecessors, a good game to play and I worked right through it during the holidays. Maybe not as cerebral on the puzzle front, but nonetheless tricky and challenging on the combination one, making you think in more detail about this factor than you may have in previous adventures. I had no trouble playing right through it on my iPad 2, though it was a bit juddery to start with and I presume the latest bug fix has ameliorated any problems on this front. ✓ Overall very good gameThe usual high standard graphics and interesting locations, and the Hint feature seems greatly improved in that it actually gives hints that are useful at your point in the game, plus the option of further help in the form of a solution. However, there were less puzzles to solve and a lot more trudging round trying to find stuff to add to what’s already in your satchel so it will work. Also, this is the first Fire Maple game where I’ve had to be slightly mean to a sentient being in order to progress, which detracted from my pleasure in completing the challenge..Version: 1.0.6

They can be a little corny sometimes but that’s part of the charm. I only needed one hint. They game is short, but I would rather do short that long and boring. I say play it. Play them all. We thought it was was too short (and almost downgraded to a 4 because of that), but we enjoyed every minute. Grisly Manor 2 is still our favorite, but this was still great. ✓ Finished despite the hint glitchUpdate: I gave it one more try and was able to finish the game without using any hints, so I came back and gave it five stars!! Super fun game!! Previous Review: I got well past the Tool Box without needing any hints, but now I am really stumped and the only hint I get is for the tool box. Even after restarts and updates it never changes. I’ve gotten every FireMaple game made and have loved them all. This was the first time I’ve gotten one when it was brand new. Next time I’ll wait until the glitches have all been addressed. ✓ Quality Handmade GamingI love this style of game, the sort of “Myst style” explore, learn, collect, experiment, and use gameplay. I have played every Fire Maple title, and every one is unique, beautifully crafted, and enjoyable. This game is no exception, with an especially poignant story thread that runs throughout. ✓ ExemplaryThis is a beautifully crafted game and a real pleasure to play. I didn’t expect anything less, having already completed all Fire Maple’s other adventures before it. The puzzles and the plot are expertly designed and the ambience completes the experience wonderfully. It has been criticised for being too short and I agree somewhat, but games of this calibre can never be long enough. If I had to find something negative to say, it would only be that the travelling back and forth can get a little tedious, especially towards the end when most of the map has been opened up. Perhaps allowing the player to click a map location and instantly transport there is something that can be considered for a future release. Regardless of what is decided, it will be an automatic purchase for me and I sincerely hope there will be many more..Version: 1.0.3

✓ Very good, but not as good as other Fire MaplesCompared to other fire maple games such as Grisly Manor (Which I hold the Speedrun world record for) and lost city, this one didn’t hit the mark I was looking for, considering how short and easy it was. However, it was still very well done, and maybe I only found it easy because I have experience doing the other 4 games. The worst flaw of the game is the back feature- there’s no arrow to go back so you’re forced to randomly click somewhere on the screen with a delayed response.
