✓ Good game but expansion neededI’ve played Race for the Galaxy for a few years and it benifited greatly when the expansions were released. Roll for the Galaxy has many similarities although it relies on manipulating your dice to do what you need. I think this game will also benefit from the Ambition expansion but I can’t find a release date for it,any information from the developers would be appreciated.Scrunch1956Version: 1.01

✓ Fun and addictive engine-builderThis is an excellent digital implementation of the board game. The UI is well designed and makes for a fun and fast game. This plays great on my iPad but my iPhone 7 screen is too small to really enjoy it. I look forward to the expansions coming to the app to make the game play more balanced. I’ve only played a few games so far but I don’t see much diversity in strategy pursued by the AI and I see it do nonsense things sometimes like scout for tons of cards it can never build..CellardoorzVersion: 1.01

If the game wasn’t good at saving board state constantly, it would be unplayable. ✓ Better than the board gameBecause it takes care of all the tedious dice mechanics and leaves you to enjoy a unique, beautifully designed strategy game. The app is as clean and user friendly as they come, and the game is sharp, fun, and endlessly replayable. Give it some time — my first few tries I felt like I had no idea what I was doing. But the terrific tutorials and helpful app prompts enabled me to play through anyway, and after a couple of games all the lightbulbs turned on and I understood it all completely. ✓ All apps should be programmed this professionallyIt takes less than 1 second to load the splash screen on my iPad pro 3rd gen. And then another instant later the game screen is up. I select Online and I am there instantly. All this is done with such great professionalism by programmers who really know and care about their craft! The game is great. The tutorial left me wanting, but the fellow who wrote it understood the game so well and I guess he just couldn’t connect to us beginners. But after struggling through a couple of games against the AI and being totally lost, I read the online, in game, rules and suddenly it all made sense. Now that I understand how to play I am having a great time in online games. I even joined one created by one of the Admins. I figure that one should be a great challenge. There are a lot of different strategies you can employ to win. Trying to figure out your opponents next move can be very helpful, but don’t forget to watch their long term strategy as well. This review is about how well Temple Gates has recreated this game, and it is another winner like their Race For The Galaxy and Shards. Roll has the familiar interface as the other two games, with reliable online and challenging AI for solo play. Zero microtransaction. IAP only for game expansions as expected and perfectly reasonable as with buying boardgame expansions. The expansion show their commitment to keeping the games current through the years. I still play Race since it's launch years ago. No bugs to report, so far, but the developers are very responsive when you report them.
