One Deck Dungeon for Positive User Reviews

Loving This Game!Very addictive gameplay. Thoroughly enjoying this app. I’m trying to play all the classes before bumping up the difficulty..Version: 1.0

It does not work on my Iphone Xs max:( Introduction pocture starts and after it it just crash everytime!.Version: 1.4.4

Revised scoreInitially scored low, difficult to figure out what I was meant to do. Advice, watch utube videos of this game and it will fall into place..Version: 1.0.1

Unbalanced, Only Fun With IAP HeroesODD is a well designed game that is a faithful port of the board game, so I don't blame Handlebra for the short comings. The biggest being not all heroes are fun to play. The Archer appears first on the hero list, and most probably start with her. Archer is the worst heroe and least fun. The best hero is Caliana, great fun. Her $1 price means most wont play her, which is a shame because the game shines with Caliana. If Calana was free, and more players played her first, this game would have a 4.5+ rating here. As it is, most will find the game punishing and painful, but only because they started with one of the free heroes..Version: 1.4.4

Great GameI really love this game. It’s all the fun of an RPG but with the ability to play fast and solo. I would give 5 stars but for one problem. All characters on the character selection are female. In a RPG gender choice should be just as common as class (and race too, which should also be added). Is it gender politics making its way into the game world, negligent oversight, or rush to finish the product? At any rate a button to change gender with alternate artwork would be simple. Developers please fix this and maybe add race with modifiers for a future expansion..Version: 1.6.3

Very nice gameA brilliant little game. Nice progression. I've been hooked since my purchase..Version: 1.0.1

IPhone X support please!Though the dice can be brutal, One Deck Dungeon offers the kinds of challenges and choices that keep me coming back (in large part because it is not as time-consuming as other board or card games). This version is the latest gem from Handelabra, the team that brought us Sentinels of the Multiverse, which is phenomenal and has enjoyed years of continued support. Thanks, Handelabra, for another polished title that performs flawlessly. These are the iOS developers that we should support. Now, when can we expect the update that brings iPhone X support? UPDATE: Continued support in 2023—over 5 years later!—means everything. Thanks, devs!.Version: 1.6.5

Wish the dice were lower but great game!It took me a bit to understand the concept of this game. Once I figured out all the strategies of items, skills and potions I really enjoyed it. I do not like playing on my phone as the dice are at the very top of the screen though. When I try to move the dice I get the pull down notification screen which is frustrating. No clue how to fix it so I play on my ipad. The annoying dice resulted in a star loss!.Version: 1.4.1

Enjoyable, well presented and simple in concept.Games take a decent amount of time to play through. Pretty tough to beat the dungeon bosses but the game has progression, allowing you to upgrade characters over time. There are some dubious value in-game purchases but at least you know what you are getting so you can make that call. Would be interesting to see how it compares with the physical card game..Version: 1.4.5

One of the finest board games on iOSTop marks for user interface design. Games are short (and always auto-saved) and packed with interesting decisions. Plays in portrait mode, a big plus. More than worth the price!.Version: 1.4.2

Fun and easy to learnI often play the physical game of odd and I bought this so I can play it on the go. Well worth the price..Version: 1.4.2

Surprisingly deep, old school RPGI bought the physical game because of reviews that it’s a great solo game but I couldn’t follow the rules - mostly about when to burn cards for the passing of time. After a few attempts, I put it aside. Then I bought the app. What a fun game! It’s surprisingly deep and it plays differently each time. So far I’ve played two dozen games with the Warrior and I just started delving into 2 player games using the Rogue and Mage. It’s a cross between pen and paper D&D and Yahtzee. Skills provide more dice, items affect how the dice are applied. Decisions on how to use the dice and items can greatly affect whether the battle is won or lost. So can deciding to burn time to gain the two health versus using a potion to heal. I’m looking forward to buying all the expansions..Version: 1.6.3

Lots of funThis is quite a lot of fun as there is a bit of puzzle, bit of rpg and a little bit of luck. Really enjoying the game and playing way too much! Just one more round!.Version: 1.3.4

I love this gameI now own this as a tabletop game, for Steam, and for iOS. While there are occasional bugs - it isn’t correctly recording my scores, so I am 0-0 for all characters and dungeons - it is a blast to play. I hope they keep releasing more dungeons and characters!.Version: 1.0.1

Excellent gameThe game is fantastic, especially after the update. Lots of depth here with the various characters and progression. Tons of fun to play..Version: 1.0.1

Great game, but the witch is bugged. After using hammersmash and discarding a die, if you tap undo you get the discarded die back. Also, if you use this after the archer’s eagle eye, eagle eye resets..Version: 1.2

Super SolitareYou can have a fun solitaire round when using one or two heroes. Also, fun to team up with the kids, each playing their choice of hero..Version: 1.3.4

Fun gameI downloaded this game because all the female characters triggered a male player who reviewed it, so if a game can easily emasculate someone I’m in. Once I got into this game I found out that it’s also very fun!.Version: 1.6.3

Paid $10 and it’s a bargainLove the tabletop version but it can get to be a bit of a pain. Takes up space and cards slide around. They did a great job porting a VERY portable game. I have had no crashing issues as of yet (18 plays so far). It’s a dice chucker but there are plenty of ways to help mitigate the dice, just choose loot wisely. Would love to have an iPhone version and would even pay another $10 for it but when I inquired they just said, “nope.” Feel sorry for all those that will not get to experience this game. Don’t get me wrong, this is a great game on tabletop and it makes a great game on tablet. Easier to play at any moment and to stop mid game. So how about it gang, get another $10 from me for iPhone version. Take my money, please. Thanks for response guys. Chomping at the bit for the iPhone version. Can’t take my iPad with me everywhere. (By the way when I ask if you have an iPhone version and you say you have no plans for it at this time that pretty much means nope, but please prove me wrong and put me in my place for that assumption). Good job on the game..Version: 1.3.4

At first hated. Now love it.I hated this game at first. The dice seemed largely unbalanced or fair. After playing this over and over again each day it’s getting better and making more sense. Your rewarded for taking risk early. Also the campaign mode is nice. I still love the board game version..Version: 1.6.3

Fun game no crashesPost update the game is running great.Version: 1.0.1

Love the card game, the app is great tooThe table top version rocks, and the app is convenient for when tossing dice doesn’t make sense (planes... trains.... automobiles) and it’s also a great way to learn the game!.Version: 1.0

Hard to win, but fun to playI love the analog version of this so decided to give this app a try. It’s very similar to playing the card game, so it’s a winner in my book!.Version: 1.3.4

Finally, latest update works.First things first, I own the physical version of the game. The interface takes a little getting used to, but is very well done. Why buy the app when I own the game? After the latest update, all crashes are gone. The game works magnificently. The only thing I would like to see, is a visual reminder of which dungeons I have completed. Other than that, all is good in the dungeon..Version: 1.3.1

Convince me the die rolls are not riggedIt’s not enough that it is difficult to defeat a boss, even at Novice level, but I am suspicious that the die rolls are rigged. I was looking at my statistics and I have rolled 30% more 1’s and 2’s than 5’s and 6’s. With a limited number of times to use your potions to try and manipulate the dice, it’s no wonder you have to choose potions to heal yourself rather than use potions to create dice that will defeat your opponent. I’d be interested in knowing how many times a player is defeated before they win once against the dragon..Version: 1.6.3

Fantastic gameI own the board game and expansion. Love them but find the game a bit annoying with all the cards and dice and tracking of skills. The mobile app is fantastic! Tracks everything and lets me play the wonderful game. I love this app. I’ve played more than 20 games already and still have multiple characters left to run through all the bosses. There is some randomness, but skills and items help mitigate this. The more you play, the more you’ll find yourself finishing, and will realize that there is a tremendous amount of skill involved in terms of decision making for loot, dice usage, skills, etc. Everyone who enjoys board games or RPGs must buy this so that they will bring out the expansion!.Version: 1.0.1

Good stuffGreat implementation. Seems very true to the table top. It’s a dice game so there are definitely times it gets frustrating when you get low dice rolls. Progression system is the way to go as the game is not easy..Version: 1.4.4

Fun but overpriced. It’s an enjoyable dice roll / placement game but it is over priced currently. This is more of a $5 game then $10. Other then that they need to work on the not so climatic dungeon endings, very drab!.Version: 1.3.1

Great iPad version of a fun solo dungeon crawlOne Deck Dungeon (ODD) is a super-fun game! It’s a dungeon crawl in which you play 1 or 2 heroes exploring a randomly drawn set of monsters and obstacles on your way to fighting a variety of bosses. The game cleverly scales itself to get harder if you play with multiple characters at once and as you go deeper into each dungeon, so it’s always a good challenge and you really get a feeling of accomplishment when you beat a dungeon. You also have the option of gaining experience points for your heroes that you can carry from game to game. I’ve played the original card and dice game this is based on and was happy to purchase it again for the iPad so I can take it with me and have the tablet run the game. Big thumbs up to ODD, A+++++!.Version: 1.0

Surprisingly fun!I was skeptical when I first encountered this game. How much strategy could there be in a single player game where you’re just rolling a bunch of dice, right? Well, there is a lot of strategy in the decisions that you make as you progress through the game and even within a single encounter. You do get bad (really bad) rolls now and then that can ruin a game, but if you’re careful and expect some bad luck you can usually avoid the worst results. I haven’t had any crashes or other serious problems on my Air 2. There does seem to be a problem with the random number generator, though. After about 1600 rolls the stats show that 1s are about 10% more likely than 2s, 3s, 4s, and 5s; and 6s about 5% more frequent than 2-5. The stats have been consistently that way from the beginning, too. After 1600 rolls I would expect the frequency of each to be roughly equal (or at least to fluctuate over time), but that doesn’t appear to be the case. This is a very good game and I’m enjoying it quite a bit so far..Version: 1.0.1

Decent game; screen swiping needs to be fixed.Decent game but the swiping between screens is maddening. It doesn’t swipe like the main iOS home screen with a quick swish of the finger. You have to really grab it from one edge of the screen to slowly swipe all of the way across the screen to get it to move. One the flip side, just touching the screen makes the screen wobble as if it’s going to swipe. So when you roll the dice the interface thinks you’re about to swipe. The sensitivities for swiping are all wrong. A quick swipe should swap screens and a tap to roll the dice shouldn’t move the entire screen. Surely this can be fixed, other apps don’t have this problem. Really takes away from the immersion and speed of the game..Version: 1.4.5

ImpressedThis replaces the physical version for me..Version: 1.0.1

Crashes at launch after latest updateBlack screen then crashes to Home Screen on my iPad Pro 12.9 3rd gen, worked great before the newest update..Version: 1.5.1

Wonderfully satisfyingThere’s something so satisfying about finding synergies in the mechanics to protect against RnG. I will more than likely buy the expansions when I have exhausted the base content, which I’m nowhere near yet!.Version: 1.4.5

Almost great newsSo glad to finally have an iPhone version, but the character advancement “checkmarks” don’t sync from the iPad version. So you end up with two versions of the game as far as characters go. It’s still a fun game and I’m glad to have it on iPhone in a pinch. At least purchases sync on both devices. If character advancement could sync through game center, I’d give it a five star review..Version: 1.4

Absolute top flight game. This a a solid, playable game with both tactical & strategic depth. Go figure. Most enjoyable time spender.Version: 1.3.4

Love the game!!!!!The original game is my go to when packing for a vacation. Now I get to play it while at work too. The interface is great. Only issue is it seems like the guile feat and bandages feat aren’t working properly. I would assume guile would be listed in the skills area but it’s not and I don’t receive any healing when replacing a skill. Unless I’m doing something wrong. Thanks..Version: 1.3

One of the bestThis is one of the best ports of a tabletop game to digital format I've seen. I have and love the original game, and this tablet version is perfectly faithful. Initially these were crash issues as others have reported but the recent update fixed that, so no problems now. Super fun! I now hope they import the new expansion which gives more characters, bosses, and dungeons. Excellent job, everyone!.Version: 1.0.1

One of my favorite solo gamesSolo games don’t hold my interest for long — usually! This is an exception. I’ve played about 20 runs now and have only played on Novice against the Dragon boss, and I could play another 20 under these same conditions, yet there is so much more to try. Great port of a creative game!.Version: 1.0.1

Love itNow THIS is how you do a board-to-Phone conversion. Love the original on my table and this is a way to bang out games much faster. Plays very well. Keeps track of your “campaign” ticks across each character so that’s a nice benefit. Well made game..Version: 1.4.2

I love this gameThis game has served me with countless hours of entertainment. It’s well balanced, the game its unique and engaging. Highly recommended it and it’s hands down one of my favorite card game..Version: 1.4

Good gameOverall this is a pretty fun game, and it has encouraged me to buy the physical game. However, I kind of agree about the unfair dice. Mine isn’t quite so bad with 575 ones and 532 sixes, but it does seem that people always have more ones in their stats than sixes (not just from these reviews but elsewhere too). I guess it’s possible that some people have rolled more sixes than ones, but I suppose they wouldn’t complain about that, so who knows 🤷‍♂️. Anyway, still a good game regardless. I wish it had iCloud to sync the progression charts though..Version: 1.4.4

A good gameThe dice mechanics are fine but the problem with this game is it has an artificial difficulty ramp, you start off with no abilities (Such as modifying dice rolls or an extra health potion) and the game gives you starting abilities with every game you play, making the game a lot easier. On the other hand it’s big plus is the game is the abilities are given through gameplay and not in app purchases..Version: 1.1

Not bad on sale!Full game + 2 DLC packs under $5 isn’t bad for this game. If you enjoy card battlers like STS, MT, or others you should like this, base game is worth $1. Art is 6/10. Tutorial 7/10. Gameplay is 8/10. Variety 9/10. Progression 10/10. Repeatability 10/10. Family share on game and DLC is available. My only gripe is how some of the game is in landscape and some in portrait while playing portrait. Why do I need to turn my phone sideways to look at a card description?.Version: 1.6.6

Good but hardI’m enjoying this but boy is it hard. I can always reach the dragon, but never come close to killing it. It seems far too overpowered. It feels like you need to use the character progression feature, but that adds an element of grinding. Also, really needs expansions to add more variety to cards. There are so many ideas to be exploited here, almost endless. Oh well, off for another try... Update: it’s a little easier with two heroes, and I have now beaten the first dungeon on Novice! There is, I think, a ton of strategy to be found behind all the dice rolls. I’m learning it slowly. Good fun. Recommended..Version: 1.0.1
