✓ One crash dungeonWell, actually it crashes repeatedly, every few rooms or so. The only saving grace is that it saves at every step, so session progress is not lost. It occurs when entering a room just before contents are revealed. Very likely the auto-save itself that is the culprit. Otherwise, brilliant dice-rolling, deck-building, dungeon-crawling, rogue-like. ✓ Unbalanced progression systemGet ready to lose dozens and dozens of time, only to finally reach a boss thats impossible to beat, making you realize you’ll have to grind again and again and again, losing over over and over again, until you gain enough powers to beat the boss and by then you’ll have played 40-50 or 60 times, and have your FIRST win and tons of losses. I would like to play much more, except when I beat the dragon the app crashes and I am unable to use my hero progression rewards. I deleted the app and re-downloaded which only was a short fix until using a different character and it crashed again after boss victory. ✓ Wanted to like this, but...This game had a great concept, but was frustrating in practice. Over and over, you end up with low-value dice going to waste because the board is full of high-value boxes that you can’t fill. Granted, that waste is probably built into the design of the game, but for people with Completionist tendencies, it becomes infuriating and unfun after a while. ✓ Poor UIIt’s baffling to me that my hero’s information is not on the main play screen. Not even their health. The health itself is unintuitive, being the only game where the number of hearts you have is NOT your health but your damage. I also don’t know what skills and weapons do when I pick them up either. Does it need to be icons? Couldn’t the game write out the effect when you examine the skill? Also the basic encounter setup of one roll and done is not my favourite. ✓ Too grindyIt looks like a decent adaptation of a card game, and I like some of the style. It’s good that the designer decided to go for an all female cast, for instance. However, it’s boring. Very boring. It’s really grindy, meaning you have to do the same stuff over and over again to boost a stat or gain a skill. It’s also very hard to get to a point where it gets easier. I can understand not wanting to have a game which is too easy, but this one is hard for the sake of forcing replays...and it’s nowhere near enjoyable enough for that. Play a dungeon, spend 30 minutes rolling dice and puzzling out where to put them. Just before meeting the boss, draw a card which needs, say, 5 armour to defeat. Roll all under 5. Game over, nothing you can do about it, start again. Change character? Start again from scratch and go through the same boring grind. If I could have one wish granted for this game, it would be to have an ‘even easier mode’ which you could activate by levelling up one character to the max, then others could be done quicker..GypsymacgyverVersion: 1.5.2

✓ Ok but limited and way over pricedNot bad to waste a few hours. But the game seems unfinished, not much content and no variety. Just the same baddies and obstacles over and over again. There is very little to tell the 5 characters apart they all have the exact same skill trees with just a few starting stat differences and a different starting skill. Plus for some reason you can only play as a female character I assume they couldn’t be bothered to do the male art work! The interface is very clunky and you find yourself having to repeatedly press icons till you get a reaction. Like I said definitely not worth 9.99 more like 1.99 in its current state. ✓ Glad I bought the game…I’ve been debating getting the physical copy of One Deck Dungeon, so when I saw it was available on iOS, I jumped at the chance to buy it. I’m glad I did. I now know that I’m NOT going to buy the physical copy. It might be the the simple animation or the complicated mechanics, but I do not enjoy this game. ✓ Awkward port of lame dice gameGood dice games are about balancing risk and reward. One Deck doesn't have interesting choices. Even when you get some rerolls or other skills for modifying your choice rolls, the optimal choices are obvious. Slotting dice into an enemy's slots feels like counting out change as a cashier - combining useless 1s and 2s to meet a point total is TEDIOUS. (Whereas in a game like Pathfinder Card you choose which resources to use to improve your odds in a big pass/fail roll, in ODD the big roll comes FIRST and then you're stuck doing busy work that just makes it take much too long to see if you succeeded) The game's theming is also dubious - the rogue should be the best at disarming traps, right? But no, her co-op ability makes her *partner* good at traps... What?! And the game's interface is clunky, failing at basics like showing you which character owns which dice (crucial info for telling if you can use an ability on a die)..TartrazineVersion: 1.5.2
