Sentinels of the Multiverse for Negative User Reviews

Dlc are trashI recently bought the vengeance expansion but every single time a try download the files it crashes. I even tried eliminating the game and downloading it again but it still doesn’t work..Version: 2.8.1

Fun but too difficultPlayed a few games and could barely win the tutorial. Second game I got slaughtered. It’s fun, but the games are 30+ minutes and very frustrating. I have deleted it. It’s just not for me..Version: 3.0.10

Don’t want to pay for a game twiceThe game is fine solo, but very laggy to play with someone else. I also bought it on my iphone, only to discover I am now expected to pay full price to download to my iPad. What a rip-off!.Version: 3.0.7

MisleadingWarning, games says it takes 243mb on store, but it takes 1.6gb. had to uninstall things to get it onto my ipad..Version: 1.0

I want to love thisI love comics. I love card based games. But after an hour and going through the tutorial i am still confused. I am sure it is great but the cards pop up for like 5 seconds and then disappear before I can read them. There are so many concepts firing at you so fast that it feels like I am just clicking stuff and am along for the ride. But I will keep trying as I really want to love this.Version: 3.1.6

Replaces Physical GameIssue - app now backs out to main menu every time I move out of it. Used to stay in the active game. This becomes annoying and almost makes me feel like I can only play when I can devote my full time to a game. Starts to feel like I am spending more time loading in each time then playing. Love the app otherwise! Great game. Due to all the stuff you have to try to keep track of, I much prefer playing this game digitally than the actual physical version. Not many games I would say that about..Version: 3.0.10

Type impossible to read 😑I don’t know what is happening, when I had an iPhone 7 I never felt like this. But now that I have an iPhone XR, almost half the games I try or buy the type is too impossibly small to read. This screen is huge, but you cram 5pt high type into tiny little boxes. Are you trying to damage my eyesight on purpose? It is impossible to enjoy a comic format game if I can’t read anything!!!!!! Design ON A DEVICE not on a monitor. This is UI design 101!.Version: 3.0.2

Great implementation of a not very good card gameThe app is incredibly well made - great sound and visual design, nice touches throughout. That said, the game itself just really isn't very good. It's full of variety but completely lacking in elegance. There's very little opportunity to make interesting decisions and the game can be incredibly all over the place as far as difficulty goes. Probably just get Star Realms instead? It's a very good game with a great app, too..Version: 1.9

I wish it weren't soSentinels of the Multiverse is one of my favorite card games ever. This app could be a four star, pushing five star. But it's insanely prone to crashing on previous generation iPads. Once per game is a minimum, and I am not exaggerating. How can I rate it higher when i can never finish a game without reloading after a crash?.Version: 2.5.6

Great potential, but sort the crashesVery good version of the card game, which I love. However the game has crashed every time one of the heroes has been incapacitated and their card needs to be flipped. If this can be fixed this will be a very good game..Version: 1.0

Superb game, getting killed by crashes...This game is beautiful, fantastic artwork, great theme... But it crashes constantly! Iron those out and it is potentially the best tabletop conversion ever!.Version: 1.0.2

Constant disconnects and makes you buy content for each family member.I bought all expansions on this game and cant use any of my expansion characters when playing with my wife. Also the game kicks her out when we are on the same wifi network... i have never been more disappointed with a game before. DON’T SPEND MONEY ON THIS!!.Version: 3.1.2

Don’t buy now! This would be a great app, but it won’t d/l the season packs. It’s stuck at 0%. In the past this was a 5 star app/game.Version: 3.0.10

Best IOS Game Gets Just One Star?SotM is a superb translation of the card game, replicating the physical game experience near perfectly. The artwork is amazing. This app replaces the physical game for me in all ways. So why do I give it one star? The game crashes more than a bind person going the wrong way on the interstate. Sure, it’s annoying, but as a person who has bought both Season 1 and 2 with all expansions, I should expect a game that’s stable. So long as this game crashes minimally 4 times per game, it can only get one star till it’s stability is fixed..Version: 3.0.2

No full screen support??This is one of the most expensive games I’ve paid for, yet no full screen support for current devices?.Version: 3.0

Too hardNeeds more environments that do more to hinder the villains rather than leaning towards aiding the villain and giving you an extra obstacle to overcome. Any player would opt for 'no' environment given the choice. Needs more decent heroes that can boost your team to balance it out. Most of the heroes are 'over thought' with abilities too reliant on unlikely combinations. Simply too hard on anything over level 2 without relying on the same 'legacy' led team every time. Basically an easier mode on every villain would add four stars on straight away... As it is... Frustratingly hard.Version: 1.9.1

Great app butIt's an excellent app as far as it goes. But it's insanely overpriced, because you only get like four or five villains, four or five environments, and 8 heroes to work with. That's not a lot to work with, especially considering the apps base price. I got this app when it was on sale for 99 cents.... it's barely worth that much. imho this app is NOT worth the full price of 6.99 or whatever it is... *maybe* if they at least included season one expansion pack with it but as is this app is not worth full price..Version: 2.5.6

Phenomenal Port, But Too Buggy5 star game and 5 star adaptation of the physical game - absolutely LOVE the weekly challenges and all the DLC. *EXCEPT* lately I can’t make it through a whole game without the app crashing half a dozen times. Once the crashing is fixed, 5 stars from me..Version: 3.0.5

Crashes!Constant crashes, havent completed a game yet.Version: 1.0

Season pass a scamI love this game! I bought both season passes but now it has been over 11 months since the last content release and there is no mention of any of the rest of the expansions being released. I feel like i was scammed and would not have bought the season 2 pass if I knew it would take them at least 12 months (possibly longer) to release the next part of the season 2 expansions let alone the next two. Villains released June of 2017 and it is now July 2018 with still no new expansions. I'm worried it will be 2020 before I get what I paid for, IF I get what I paid for at all. So all in all it gets 1 star for poor customer service by not ever mentioning when the next product is coming out and taking money and not providing the product promised. Also there was a kickstarter project set up specifically for the season 2 expansions. So why is it when people fund the product and buy the season pass that there is no season pass products?.Version: 2.5.11

LameThis game looks like a kid projeçt biggest waste of money EVER.Version: 1.0

Don’t Buy ExpansionsThis could easily be a 5 star game but because of the bugs I can only give it a 2. Specifically, I spent 7.99 for the expansion Villains of the Multiverse and it never downloaded (stopped at 80%). Tech support responded fast which was great unfortunately they only gave me obvious suggestions have enough space? (8 GB) strong internet signal? (very) possible delayed downloading (waiting for hours) I want a refund so I can buy a SOTU that works.Version: 2.8.2

DLC GlitchingIn spite of all the fixed bug promises, this game is glitchier than ever. The newest bug? Opening a fresh multiplayer lobby and having none of the DLC available. Am I supposed to redownload both full seasons every time I want to play? Come on. CONSTANT UNFIXED server issues aside, at least before the latest update I was able to access all my content whenever I opened the app..Version: 3.1.1

Major security risksSeveral links from your multiplayer system have a severe risk of sending users to risky sites, and it scares me immensely to even use your app now. Please fix if able, ‘cause it is extremely unnecessary and avoidable..Version: 3.2.7

Barrier to entry is highI play a fair amount of fiddly games and Sentinels of the Multiverse is one of the fiddliest games I’ve ever played. Balance is dictated by min max players, and makes it hard for new players to ramp up easily. Don’t even think about trying to play with a random set unless you figure it out all the different min max capabilities of all carts. However, once you figure out all the different cards, it’s a pretty fun game. It’s just difficult to get to the fun part..Version: 4.0

LacklusterIf I had played this before Galaxy Trucker, I may have given it 4 stars. And yet, here we are. It's a very good adaptation of the card game. It does all the messy status tracking and rule enforcement for you, generally without getting in your face. The card effect icons are also a nice touch, but so far I find I'm still clicking a lot. (I've only played the original a few times, so I don't have the cards memorized.) I'm also not convinced the damage selection screen is necessary most of the time, but it does the job in other areas. For people new to the game, the rules are laid out in a text-heavy way and there is a brief, but chatty tutorial to get the gist across. There is also a card archive complete with character bios, but for some reason, I can't see the backs of the character cars. Knowing that Citizen Dawn is immune to damage when she flips is kinda important. There are no achievements or Game Center integration, which is a crime given that this game is tailor-made for challenges. (Here's my scenario and all my heroes survived with 100hp total...beat that!) And now with Galaxy Trucker on the scene, I'm also expecting a campaign mode for my $10. The randomizer helps with that a bit, but it'd be infinitely improved by incorporating some sort of difficulty calibration. (Look for Matthew Gray's excellent analysis on SotM difficulty levels.) I'll keep hoping that we get some features and extra cards before the inevitable expansion IAPs, but I won't hold my breath. It crashed a lot on my iPad 2 (iOS 7) until I restarted the iPad. Still crashes, but it's manageable..Version: 1.0

Good but the odd bug?Playing online w friends function has never worked for me or my friends who play. Sometimes some card rules don't seem to work as they should (but this is rare) Overall good app, great game..Version: 2.7

Good level of complexity, expansions very expensiveThis is an adaptation of the coop card game. Hence, the difficulty is high, the idea being that you lose several times in order to work out the best way to beat the boss you are fighting. Random draws from the deck serve to keep the gameplay fresh on repeat playthroughs. I enjoy the game, but the complexity is quite high. There is a reasonable amount to learn before you can really get to grips with the heroes, villains and environments that you fight in. The save feature is solid, meaning you can put the game down and pick up again hours or days later. Lastly this game is cheap to buy into but quite expensive to collect. The virtual version is still much cheaper than the physical version. But with expansion passes being £20 plus, it’s quite a big ask for virtual content imo. I doubt I’ll be buying any of them. The core game has a reasonable amount of content to it. Probably consider buying the expansions if you LOVE the main game. Buy if: you like complex strategy games You like the theme of heroes versus villains You like card games You want a cooperative game - you can take turns playing each of the heroes. Don’t buy if: Overly complex games frustrate you. You want something pick-up and play. This game requires a time investment to learn. Rng annoys you. There is a reasonable amount of randomness to the game, which may frustrate some..Version: 2.8.2
