Euclidean Skies for Negative User Reviews

Not impressedNice aesthetic, but the controls are way too janky and complicated, the design isn’t intuitive at all, and I’m not a fan of how the character jump cuts to each block rather than walking with a full animation. Everything I enjoyed about this game was done better in Monument Valley..Version: 1.5

Crashes ConstantlyIt crashes so much, I can barely play at all. Wasted my money.Version: 1.5

Frustrating controlsDifficult to get to move predictably. Potential to become an interesting, pretty, and fun puzzler, like the Monument Valley games. But I keep putting it down, annoyed at the block controls and camera angles..Version: 1.0.3

Broken Under the HoodI get the sense that in the mobile games market, where indie development is king, there definitely aren’t the same standards when it comes to programming, that one would expect from so-called Triple A developers, relative creative inspiration and passion notwithstanding. Even top mobile games like this one are more often than not a single person’s passion project. I could go on all day about how great this game is conceptually and how gorgeous the graphics are but it just doesn’t matter. The game might even be beyond reproach but the product isn’t even remotely market-ready. Nothing about the thing is optimized! It crashes constantly. I’m almost certain that the code for this is conspicuously inefficient. The first game under the Euclidean IP was less interesting and, well, uglier for a number of reasons but at least it was playable, though it did frequently crash as well already. But I literally cannot finish level 20 because there is so much going on graphically that certain moves cause an immediate crash. Actually I have even treated the optimization as part of the puzzle; I make extra moves to get moving parts out of view, I wait for the birds to stop horsing around and I zoom in at angles which reduce the number of particles on the screen. I still have not been able to thwart a crash. This kind of shows what a doofus the developer is in the first place, thinking he can just overload a game to be played on a phone with particle clouds and particle disintigration of enemies and hell, why not, particles just floating around and some pointless birds. I have never written a line of code and I know more about what crashes a game than the developer. In fact the developer should feel obligated to patch the game with an update that gets rid of all the bloody particles. A phone isn’t a console or computer, it can only handle so much graphical complexity. Overall very disappointed I spent money on something I can’t even finish playing..Version: 1.5

Overly complicated finicky controlsThe controls for the game are overly complicated. The same touch or gesture can result in at least four different rotations at any point. Then the next time it doesn’t rotate without any obvious reason for it. The result is a game that becomes more about manipulating the controls than manipulating the game world. The still graphics are pretty, but the character movement is one full chunk at a time with no fluidity or connectivity between motions. As a result the game is more like watching segments of time than a fluid passage. Overall the game has promise, but it needs polish and refinement to make it engaging to play..Version: 1.0.2

Looks good. The sound ruins it. Poor animation. The puzzles are neat enough and the music is chill. But the sound effects are intrusive and clash with the calm atmosphere that the game hints. Also the animation of the character lacks flow and all together makes the game feel like the rip-off it is..Version: 1.5

BefuddledSurprised at how poorly it performs on a XS Max. Controls are not good for the iPhone screen. Maybe it’s better for iPad. It’s very pretty though and the AR is neat for 5 minutes or so..Version: 1.0.2

Game keeps crashingMy game crashes every time I open it.Version: 1.0.4

Clunky and not smoothI regret purchasing this. It’s trying to be like Monument Valley, but doesn’t capture the same fun or gameplay. It’s very awkward to rotate the different views. I don’t recommend it..Version: 1.0.3

Crashes on launchCrashes on launch. Never even get to see the menu screen..Version: 1.0.4

Beautiful graphics; frustrating controlsThe graphics are well done, and the AR mode is neat. But the controls are incredibly frustrating. It’s almost totally a guessing game as to what blocks will rotate, and in which direction. This makes solving a puzzle very unrewarding, since it feels like I just got there by chance..Version: 1.0.3

Novel Concept, Beautiful Visuals, Horrible controls and cameraIt is hard to rotate blocks. Ruins the whole experience.Version: 1.0.2

Don’t spend your moneyI really wish I didn’t buy this game. 39 levels that feel nearly identical. Disappointing end to the game. It would be good if it was free, but as a paid game, it under delivers so hard. One of my biggest regrets in app purchases to date..Version: 1.5

Fun until it crashes when launchingI’ve experienced several instances of random crashing but have always been able to relaunch and play the crashed level to completion. Not this time. The level crashes while initializing. iPad Air. 1st ed..Version: 1.5

Too Complicated Too FastHaving played the first game, I was interested to see where they would take a sequel. Where they took it was too far, too fast. The first few stages get you used to how things work but then it ramps up really fast to odd pivot points which produce really odd and difficult to predict movements. It also seems as if the bad guys can sometimes attack at an angle across 2 squares and other times not. Rather annoying. As it stands right now, it's not that interesting because if all they can come up with is increasingly bizarre movement, it's losing my interest fast as well..Version: 1.5

Decent with drawbacksVisuals are pretty nice! But I had to restart the game twice now. Also controls are finicky as hell and sound design is horrible..Version: 1.0.2

Bad, regret spending the moneyThe gameplay is jerky The controls aren’t intuitive. The difficulty comes not from dynamics but instead from overcoming bad design. It is gorgeous. I wish I had the opp to play this for free and avoid it..Version: 1.0.3
