Sayonara Wild Hearts for Negative User Reviews

Can’t skip cutscenesCool game but I’m tryna beat my high score on the 1st level and I have to watch the whole thing over again, luckily the music & sfx is amazing so it’s not dreadful but still fix it.Version: 1.0.2

Beautiful game with a fatal flawThe game is gorgeous and the music is fantastic but the touch control is atrocious. The sensitivity is just too low even on the high sensitivity setting. Slide my finger across the screen and the character barely moves. I had to flick on the screen like a madman in a few sequences. I hard the control is good if I pair a BT controller but I don’t always have a game pad with me.Version: 1.0.1

Not Worth Your TimeThe controls are one thing: wrong. You slide your character back and forth across lanes of a road. This is easier said than done. Even on high sensitivity it’s hard to have a ‘large’ enough swipe to move. Or move enough. In frustration you may go wild in an attempt to move into the next lane, however, you will instead over shoot and crash. In fighting the controls appear over your characters head. All time spent making a BEAUTIFUL game, just to hide all of it with your meaty appendages. This is no Subway Surfer. That game has controls that work..Version: 1.0.0

Pretty graphics, shame about the gameplayI think you can sense the contempt a developer has for its users when the first level punishes the player with a gold rank score requirement so high it practically requires you not to miss any collectables — all whilst requiring the user to somehow (a) determine where to position the character in order to collect items whose spatial positioning you can barely discern, and (b) not miss any items when you neither know where you nor the items are. If you want to restart the level, you have to basically know where the restart button is. Not only that, but the opening cutscenes are replayed, so you need to re-enter the menu to select skipping them — every single time. And then the second level's items only appear practically a millisecond before you miss them, unravelling the true nature of the game: rote repetition of the developers' whimsical choice of camera work and prettiness-over-mechanics. I didn't get any further than the second level because there are plenty more games, on Apple Arcade and elsewhere, with more respect for the user's time..Version: 1.0.0

Ok but needs improvementThe game is pretty fun but the controls are awful, the sensitivity of the game and how you move needs to be changed. i play the game on the highest sensitivity and that is still not enough. i think instead of a swiping movement there should be an on screen joystick or analog stick and ps4 controllers need to be allowed to be used. apart from the controls i find the game very fun. thanks for reading..Version: 1.0.0

Excellent game ruined by frustrating controlsThis game is overall excellent. The visuals, music, overall theme are all great and definitely a showcase game for Apple Arcade. With that said, the controls just using the touchscreen are incredibly frustrating and eventually ruin the experience. Despite sensitivity set to high, it takes way too much effort to move around. Swiping feels as though it barely does anything and it’s very easy to exit the game or jump into multitasking when trying to swipe left or right. Some of the fast paced levels feel nearly impossible because the game simply isn’t responsive to touch inputs and everything you do with the character is far slower than it should be. Others say it is much better with a controller but honestly the game needs to be adjusted so that it can be used with just the touchscreen on a phone..Version: 1.0.0

Difficult to playPretty game, nice sounds but too hard to play. Difficult to work out controls quickly and hard to get a good rank at the start. Only got bronze after a fairly good first attempt at the level. Expectations are high here from the developer. Give your users a chance to perform please..Version: 1.0.0

Almost impossible to playGame is high quality and lag free, except the controls aren’t sensitive enough even when set to max, and the speed of the game should be an option as some levels are unplayable. The constantly changing perspective of the game makes it impossible to play parts of the level requiring you to skip..Version: 1.0.1

Horrible handling of save states, bad experience ruins a good gameThis would be a great game, but any attempt to play it across devices or in areas of spotty service is met with a rage-provoking mess of a situation. The game seems to have no local storage of your progress. So if you are on the subway or something, you have to start from the beginning (and even forced to watch the opening cutscene again). And if you’re willing to do that, it may just boot you back out randomly to the beginning to start over again. This game should have no reliance on the cloud except to sync across devices. And even that it does poorly with a lot of lag between my iPhone and my iPad..Version: 1.0.0

Unplayable due to flashing lightsI don't suffer from epilepsy, but I do have a problem with visual sensory overload, so I often use reduced motion/flashing options when games have them... and the fact that this game has 1) no warning about the flashing and 2) no option to reduce the very bright constant flashing is astonishing. I really wanted to play this but I can't because just playing through 3 levels made me feel too unwell and disoriented to continue. Accessibility options really should be more of a concern!!.Version: 1.0.1

Beautiful but clunkyThe game is beautiful and the music is amazing. The largest problem with the fame is how clunky it feels. The controls get changed constantly and there’s no direction on what to do it’s just trial and error. It feels like they didn’t play test the game because sometimes when trying to turn or steer it feels so unnatural and you can’t even turn what looks like a simple corner. Each level is different, which is very nice, but the controls change so you never know what to expect. I go to pick up the game and play half a level and quickly put it down because I remember how awful it feels to feel so extremely out of control of your character..Version: 1.0.1

Pretty Game but Very ConfusingNice music, cool concept. The only problem is that some of the levels are too complicated and the controls are so weird. Too hard to steer left and right even with the sensitivity turned up all the way..Version: 1.0.1

I know lots of great games, this game, the worstTerrible character control, deleting the game as it’s horribly though out.Version: 1.0.0

Beautiful art and music, butThe story is not for me. I won’t say anything bad about it, but I am seemingly not the target audience..Version: 1.0.0

没有声音这款游戏在我的手机上听不到任何音乐,请解决.Version: 1.0.1

Excellent visuals and music, awful touch controlsThe idea and art design of this game are incredible, but the game is almost telling you to use a 3rd party controller. The touch controls are a complete failure: swiping to move wide areas is an assuredly absolutely awful idea and should not have passed any sort of reasonable beta testing. This could be easily remedied by arrow buttons that countless other games already use; no need to introduce swiping because it looks intuitive. I really want to like this game: as an art form it’s beautiful, but strictly speaking as a game out of the box, it falls short by cripplingly bad touch controls. I’ve gotten about a third of the Gold ranks, but it’s unlikely I try to get more because swiping is, simply put, terrible..Version: 1.0.1

Amazing game, terrible touch controlsDon’t have a game pad- hoping they fix the touch controls- very insensitive, and counterintuitive. No left right like most, requires a “flicking”action with a huge time delay. Would like some options like left/right touch as an option to this annoying single finger approach, as well as a fix for the low sensitivity and delay. Unplayable as is, but could be incredible..Version: 1.0.1

Well, it looks fun...I try to play this game but whenever I launch it, it crashes! I want to play, but the developers need to fix the bugs..Version: 1.0.0

No soundTried everything but no sound comming out... Really beautiful graphics tho! Hope they fix this soon so I can give the proper star rating ;) Especially at this crucial moment, Apple Arcade coming out... Don’t wanna screw this up ;).Version: 1.0.0

It’s such a beautiful game, but uncontrollable!Creative, beautiful, wonderful music, but the controls sometimes decide to just... not go as far as the character needs to move, despite all efforts, and you’re left desperately swiping and then *still* hit a wall....Version: 1.0.1

Controls are slowYou feel quite disconnected from the character because of how slow the controls respond.Version: 1.0.2

Great game play it on steamIdk for me the kind of movements the game expects me to do seem a little too much for swipe controls. Like I'm constantly swiping 2-3 times in the later stages just to be unable to even make it past a part because my fingers can't input that hard of a turn. I would definitely rate it higher but I can't give it more stars because the control scheme is just too archaic for a game like this. Like maybe if the touch movement was 1:1 or something but how it is I don't get enough of a response even with high sensitivity. That's my literal only complaint as I just want to play the game how it's meant to be played, I don't think swipe controls were meant to be played with. Also experienced a lot of slowdown within the game itself, not sure if that's just a game optimization thing or my phone, but it was large enough to make me notice..Version: 1.0.1

Beautiful game but a pain to playThe controls desperately need adjustment.Version: 1.0.1

No Music!I can not hear music or any sound! I restarted my phone and even reinstalled the game! iPhone11.Version: 1.0.1
