I tried to cancel the subscription about 3 hours after the trial period began and saw that I had been billed for $3.99+ tax, the price to use it on a daily basis. I assume this means that had I not cancelled it today I would have been billed $3.99+tax every single day. I glad I caught it when I did. I clicked to accept and was instantly charged $4.99 for a week long subscription, and canceling renewal in the settings right after changed nothing. I had to dispute the purchase with Apple.
